San Francisco #2

San Francisco Lost

Rate this book
He’ll find her, no matter what it takes.

James can’t wait to see, to touch, Christiana again. For three nights, collar in hand, he waits.
She never shows.
And when he asks, it’s revealed there is no member named Christiana.

Christiana knows it’s time to stop pining over James. By now he knows she wasn’t who she said she was and has probably moved on. She should too.
Maybe it’s time to try submitting to a different Dom.

James should let it go.
He should let her go.
But he can’t shake the feeling that she’s in danger. That she needs him.

5/5 - ARC review. Book releases January 22, 2019

Honesty. That would be the theme of book two.

This is part two of the San Francisco Trilogy. It’s shorter and is mostly just Christiana and James figuring each other out. It picks up right where part one ends. Christiana learns that not all Dom’s are the same. James locates her via private investigator because she never shows up at the Orchid Club’s next stop in Luxembourg.

She comes clean about who she is but I suspect she still hiding something because she’s very guarded with her feelings. James suggests he train her for two-weeks so she’ll know how to protect herself as a submissive. It’s not what either wants (just two weeks together) but they are both being low key angsty and not saying how they feel or what they want.

This book goes over some training aspects between and Dom and sub. It’s not extensive but you as a reader are shown how ideal check-lists and negotiations should be performed.

This book does end on another cliffhanger. It doesn’t bother me I actually like cliffy’s and part three is right around the corner.

FYI:

Impact play: flogger, slapper. Ice, nipple, anal play. No penetrative sex (she’s training). Bondage. High protocol positions. Consensual, negotiated.

Part two picks up right where we left off in part one, so please don't read this without reading the first part. Despite the fact that Christiana makes an incredibly stupid decision or several of them in the beginning of this installment, this was a very enjoyable read. Plenty of drama and hot scenes make me eager to get to the final installment and to find out if Christiana and James will finally reveal their feelings to one another

I am loving this trilogy, it is so well written that you feel the pain and the pleasure of James and Christiana. Each book is not overly long, each dealing with a certain timeframe in the developing relationship between the two characters.

Not as good as the first but had some heated moment and I can see they are both coming to recognize the unique emotional connection they've stumbled upon. Looking forward to the finale.

A great second instalment

Having read Book #1 (Longing) I jumped straight into this story and despite, again, it not following the path I expected I absolutely loved it. Just like the first book I didn't want to put this down.

Whilst it wasn't perhaps quite as erotic as Longing, this book concentrated on giving the characters depth and persuading us of the emotions involved. That's not to say it didn't have its share of hot BDSM play but where as #1 drew me in with it's intrigue and steam, this allowed me to become invested in James and Christiana as a couple.

I would be jumping straight into book #3 if I didn't have 4 arcs to read by the weekend. I'm tempted to sneak-read it in between the arcs but the story and writing deserve more than a hurried flick through. I want to wallow in the story and relish every moment of it and can't wait to indulge myself in it.

This second part of the San Francisco trilogy had me on a very tense and emotional rollercoaster of a ride with Christiana and James as both realise reality is more than the fantasy created at the Orchard Club over the three very passionate nights they spent together. Lila Dubois continues to use amazingly expressive, vivid description to build her story as Christiana and James are reunited and the gap between them begins to close but, as their hearts become more involved, so too do the doubts their heads create and we are left wondering how the final book will play out.

Christiana's naivety continues to show throughout this adoring and sensual tale but her enthusiasm and passion to submit to James and experience all he can command of her, allows her to blossom, despite her fears of rejection. James is initially harsh and clinical and Lila does a brilliant job of keeping him a sexy, strong and powerful Dom whom we have yet to decide one way or the other whether we can fall entirely in love with him. However, we see he is as insecure as Christiana and unsure whether he can follow and risk his heart, or whether he will simply give in to his own self doubt and leave us all, Christiana included, a messy mix of emotions in the end.

Once again Lila Dubois is proving that she can master these emotional and gritty tales and leave her reader satisfied but wanting so much more. Once again this leaves us on a sort of cliff hanger ending but not as dramatic as the first book and I will easily forgive her for the tease she leaves us with at the end of this book. I know the conclusion of this series with San Francisco Love will be just as amazing, if not more so, and I can't wait to see how James does in his challenge, find out who or what Solomon is and, most importantly, see how Christiana and James overcome the fantasy of each other and find that reality for them is so much sweeter if they simply let each other in.

Another 5plus star read for me and one that should again be on anyone's TBR pile!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reading copy of this book.

When I finished San Francisco Longing, I was left with mixed feelings. The story felt complete. The weekend was over. But there was so much left to their story. I knew I had to get my hands on the next book! Fast!

This book picks up right where San Francisco Longing left off. The magical weekend is over, and Christiana goes back to her normal every day life. But she doesn't feel like she is the same person. It's like her eyes have been opened to a whole new world that she never knew was there. And she wants it back. This leads her to a situation that could have been much worse than it was, but still it was pretty bad. And she isn't sure that she will ever find those feelings again. Or if she should even try. James goes through so many emotions in this book. Anticipation. Disappointment. Anger. Jealousy. He is all over the spectrum. And he seems to be just as confused as Christiana about what he wants.

This book flows perfectly with the first book. The connection between Christiana and James is still there, still as hot, still as explosive. I loved seeing the changes in their relationship, the differences in who they are to each other. And that ending! Something big is coming, I just know it! I can't wait to read the next book, to see what happens!

This is he second part of a trilogy and it begins where the first book left off. Christiana has run away from James before he finds out the truth and she is in a sort of limbo trying out a new Dom, but missing James.
Can these two lovers be reunited? Only time will tell. Like the first book, this is steamy and if you like your books like that, then this is the one for you! The one thing I did enjoy about these two characters is how incredibly human they are, they make mistakes (sometimes very silly ones) and sometimes James can be a powerhouse and Christiana extra submissive, but the story seems to come together very well and is actually quite believable. I can't wait to read the last part.

I was given this ARC for an honest review.

Picking up right where we left off on part one, Bailey seeking that elusive connection she had with Jacob at a BDSM mixer and making really stupid mistakes. Hoping for the same connection leads Bailey down a painful road, that could have led to a worse ending than she experienced. Meanwhile Jacob is alternately crushed and angered when he realizes she's not going to show, worried he begins to seek her out, only to uncover her lies. Loved the start, loved their false starts and recovery into their connection and BDSM play. Definitely did not want it to end where it did, and given how often the theme was it was all about them I'm surprised by the ending teaser.

Another great read. Lila Dubois bows how to keep you guessing with her novels. Christiana has an itch to be a submissive, but she doesn’t know all the rules. Feeling bad for lying to James she meets Dino and goes with him assuming she will be with others at a sub/don gathering. When she enters his home, red flags go up but she ignores them, because she’s longing for James. Dino turns out to be the total opposite of James and he talks her into staying with him and beats her with a new device called a clapper. She runs out . Meanwhile James as hired someone to search for her because he can feel she’s in trouble. He finds her and she tells him what happened. They have two weeks and they have to make the best of them, because he’s teaching her how to be a sub the right way. A great read.

Part 2 – As good or Better!!

Christiana knows she is “missing” this month’s meeting of the Orchid Club; and standing up James.
James is discovering Christiana is NOT a member of this special club. When a private investigator is able to determine who and where she is, he confronts her. He is caught off-guard when she leaps into his arms happy to see him. When he agrees to train her there is a rocky start – but discussion reveals where the problem is – ultimately setting us up for the finale of this sizzling, sensual series.

I adore this series. It is intense, snarky and explosive!!.

Again the second part of this trilogy is just as captivating as the beginning! The story continues with vivid descriptions that again made me feel everything right down to the tips of my toes!! The characters are human, flawed, but also compassionate and understanding of the other’s well-being… it’s refreshing… and makes it seem more realistic. It brings the emotional connection between the characters, and between the characters and the reader, to a higher level. Can’t wait to read the final installment of Christiana and James’ story! Love it!!!

Oh, that was good, like really good! We pick up where our previous book ended, one month later, when Christiana and James are supposed to meet up again. He's worried, she's distraught. Things happen, bad things, then good things, then perfect things. We are all set-up for things to go swimmingly, but is it forever? Or is this lining up to be a HFN? The undeniable heat between our two leads is palpable, they can't deny it, and you can't help but feel it, but is it enough? Book three will certainly give us some more answers, one does hope!

San Francisco Lost picks right up where part 1 ended. This book is where Christiana and James realize that they miss their connection from the three nights they had and seek each other out. What follows is James guiding and teaching Christiana through the world of BDSM in the very descriptive scenes by Lila Dubois. And as we wait for part 3, we wonder if they will keep their connection beyond the teaching period, and realize that they each can give something to the other. Anxiously waiting for part 3!

When Christiana doesn't show up at the next Orchid Club event, James is convinced she is in danger and desperately tries to track her down. Christiana tries to find what she had with James elsewhere and learns a painful lesson. Christiana and James are reunited and I fell under their spell again! Will it be forever this time? I love these characters. They fit so perfectly and care so much for each other. Now if James would only get over the notion than his time with Christiana is only temporary... I can't wait for book three of this excellent romance series by Lila Dubois, who happens to be one of my favorite storytellers.

Warning, this is a continuation of book 1. Please don't read this unless you've already read book one.

After disappointment of not having Christiana show at the next meet up, James starts to question where she was. Did he read her wrong? Did she not have the same connection? Meanwhile, Christiana is trying to find her way around the BSDM society. She makes some colossal mistakes. When they meet again, James makes it clear he wants something more with Christiana if it's only to train her. Christiana finds herself trying not to fall in love. Cannot wait for the third installment!

I finished San Francisco Longing yelling at Christina for making an incredibly dumb decision! And Lost picks up right there. And I was still yelling at her. Luckily for her she doesn't get turned into a skin suit and our sexy hero finds her soon enough to continue the fun. The one complaint I have for this one is how short it felt. I know they're shorter stories but the first one didn't feel short, this one did. I can't wait for the last one to come out so I can read them all in order like it's just one longer book!!

Cheated!!

I really feel cheated on this one. This starts where the other book left off but is VERY SHORT! The storyline is very good but this is one book broken up into 3 parts and there is a charge for each part! I would like to read the ending but I am too pissed off right now to even consider buying the next one after the few chapters here. A good book broken up to make money is just greedy. I would rather the author combine the story and just sell the book. That is the honest way to do business. This is 7 chapters long!

Major cliffhanger at end of book 2. If that's not your thing hold out to read book 2 until you have book 3.

Also, be warned - the first 2 chapters (you want to slap the heroine around - don't be stupid - really this is *not* right) are tough but it's so worth it!!

Once you get past those 2 chapters everything comes together - Christiana & James really talk & get some honesty out between them.

Another great read!! Can't wait for book 3.

OMG!!! Lila is a master at writing, she keeps you satisfied but want more as it's such a great story.
Christiana and James picks up from the first book and they have strong feelings for each other but do not share what is truly in their harts. Christiana lives in the 90% of the working population and James comes from long standing wealth. Will it work out for them??.... Can't wait to find out in the next book!!! I hate waiting but I'm sure that Lila will not disappoint us 😊

In this second book of the series we find Christiana still seeking to find her way in the BDSM world. She wants James to help her .

Although they are both from different worlds they have a special connection and although Christiana feels nothing can come of this she wants to spend whatever time they have together exploring their feelings.

Once again this story is written with great detail and skill making this well worth reading.

This story is HOT. Our story advances a month and Christiana is not listening to her brain or her inner instincts. This story could take a dark dangerous turn, but this storyline is more fun and discovery. Thank goodness. With this installment we learn more about our characters and yes they have some more sexy fun. Warning, you may need a fan while reading this tale. What’s next for our couple, will San Francisco be all they have?

This was a great continuation of the story. When Christiana doesn't appear the next month at The Orchid Club event, James finds out that Christiana isn't a member. Lillian is concerned they may need to close the club - she thinks Christiana may be a reporter. But James is convinced she isn't and asks for time to track her down and learn the truth. What James learns isn't what he is expecting. Will this be just a short term dom/sub relationship, or will it develop into something more?

Great continuation of Book 1!

Here I am back to review Book 2. I couldn’t take time to review this installment because I just HAD to begin reading Book 3! But, I’ve finished the series, and I can say that it is perfect. James and Christiana’s relationship continues to heat up in this one. He pushes Christiana to dare more and do more. It’s all very exciting. This is one incredible series and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Revelations
This second part of the series took me on a roller coaster of emotions, expectations, starts and stops, and finally re-evaluation of the relationship of Christiana and James.
Although we get only a short glimpse, actually not even a day of their time together, their scene negotiations are already so deeply sensuous, my toes curled.
Where is part three??!!

The story of James Nolan and Christiana continues in this the second book. James knows something is wrong so he sets out for San Francisco to find her. Christiana thinks she can find what she had with James with someone else but she can't - submitting doesn't feel right without him...

San Francisco Lost is the second book in the San Francisco Trilogy and picks up where San Francisco Longing (book 1) ended. There's plenty of drama, misunderstandings, lies, suspense, mystery, lots of feels, hot scenes, and so much more.

San Francisco Lost continues James and Christiana's story from where Longing ended. Christiana's actions in the beginning of Lost took a deep dive into her psyche and emotional state. James came in like a prince and rescued Christiana by offering himself to teach her the ways of the BDSM world. Lost ended on the most erotic and romantic scenes thus far and hinted at an adventurous trip abroad.
