Bonded To The Alien Centurion

Rate this book
Behind ‘enemy lines’ the last thing she expects is a sexy alien warrior determined to make her his…

When things screw up in diplomatic talks with the Lathar Dani Black finds herself lined up for the one thing every dyed in the wool soldier dreads… a diplomatic function. Alone on the Lathar ship without backup, she must play nice, rescue a VIP and somehow get them both back to her own ship without causing a diplomatic incident that could result in the annihilation of the human race.

The problem is one sexy as hell alien warrior. Tall, silver-haired and handsome, he’s her escort for the evening and makes her want things she certainly shouldn’t want from an alien, no matter how sexy he is. But then a conversation goes bad, and she finds herself in an alien challenge circle fighting for her freedom. It’s all going well, until her sexy alien steps into the ring…

The moment he saw her, he swore he’d make the beautiful human woman his mate.

Sardaan is the envy of his shipmates when he’s assigned by the emperor to escort a visiting human dignitary for a diplomatic function. But that’s not all he’s been assigned to do… under orders to seduce the beautiful human woman at any costs, Sardaan is more than happy to do his duty.

Things take a turn for the unexpected when a simple display of combat prowess becomes a challenge fight. Sardaan must step into the ring against the woman he yearns for her and claim her before he loses her forever to another. But, once he’s beaten her and claimed her in the eyes of his people, he realises his battle has only just begun.

Can he make his delicate but stubborn little mate see they have a future? Or will forces conspire in the shadows and steal any chance of happiness they have before it’s even begun?

Cheap Imitation

I love the other books in the series and if I didn't know better, I would swear this was done by a ghost writer... the other option is Mina Carter was under deadline and just hacked out a book to meet her contract.
Where the characters in previous books were likeable, strong, and honorable... you suddenly have the male protagonist "taking" and almost raping the female. Last time I checked, when a man forces his attentions on a women who is holding back because he knows her mind better than she does... that's called rape. When a guy has to force you to respond that isn't desire, that is buckling to prevent from getting hurt.
When did the warriors in this book go from respecting and revering women to claiming then against their will and putting their hands on them without permission? Also, for such a tough female character she certainly has ZERO control over her emotions and just turns into a weak, pathetic, submissive shadow at the first sign of interest from the male protagonist. Plus, for being such a decorated, experienced, military figure... she certainly caves and betrays her "husband" at the 1st opportunity when threatened... you know, instead of asking for help like an adult would do... let alone a decorated female soldier. This book was a major disappiontment.

And considering it ended with another woman being taken physically against her will to be another warriors "mate"... I expect the next book to be equally terrible and bordering on rape. Afterall, looks like the author now thinks a man knows best and just needs to force the females to comply and then she will realize her true feelings. Lame bodice ripper romance.

Bonded To The Alien Centurion is book seven in the Warriors of the Lathar series by Mina Carter.

It was enjoyable to a point. Not my favorite and not one I’ll read again. By this point the series is starting to feel a bit old. Nothing new or refreshing happens and we still don’t have a deal or conclusion with the humans.

As for the romance we have Sardaan a Lathar Warrior and Dani a Human Solider. It was the same old same old struggle of back and fourth, where the human women is like no I don’t want a mate and the male is yes you are mine. They’re where too many scenes with Dani struggling and then she gives in so easily. She also lost her badness. As for our Lathar Warrior he started out nice, but then became a dick. Also there where too many close areas that could be considered forced sex or almost rape. This romance didn’t work for me.

Overall I’ve enjoyed the series, but Bonded To The Alien felt flat and didn’t progress the series forward at all. It’s just another version of the human fighting the bond.

Dani Black is another bad-ass human soldier woman who ends up among the Lathar on a diplomatic mission and an attempt to rescue the vice president, Madison Cole, who is stuck among them after her visit went tits up. Instead of things going as planned, Dani ends up married to Saardan, who desperately aches to make Dani his for good. But she has a mission to complete and loyalty to her planet, not to mention a resistance to being weak and in love, so she resists Saardan's seduction...until she can't. But when she's blackmailed into betraying the Lathar, it will be a test of Saardan's love and trust in her.

Initially, I thought I could give this three stars, but the more I reflected on this story, the fewer stars I wanted to give it. I think I'm more disgusted by the Lathar in general. They're touted to be this noble, warrior culture, but all I see are alpha douchebags with absolutely no honor and a tendency to enslave lesser cultures. None of this endears me to them...and they're not much better on an individual level either. Case in point: Dani Black arrives thinking it's just a diplomatic dinner and worried she's going to be betrayed and trapped by the enemy. Well, in a way, she is. They trick her into fighting a "claiming" match, which ends up bonding her to a Lathar warrior and trapping her among them. That's not very honorable at all actually. These Lathar say they want the humans because they're feisty, bad-ass women. And Dani really does start out as a bad-ass. But Saardan doesn't actually want her to be so feisty with him...he wants her to submit. So in the end, Dani ends up a weak and defeated woman with absolutely no claim to the title of "bad-ass." I didn't even feel like she was otherwise empowered by her love for Saardan. I felt like she'd been manipulated, nearly raped (but only because she "consented" at the last minute), and then betrayed, and her love made her a doormat for all of it.

Finally, the Lathar clearly do not believe that women actually have a say - they're misogynistic. Dani says she doesn't want to be married and she doesn't want a wedding night...she wants to go home. But Saardan wants her desperately and doesn't care that she wants to leave, he wants her to want to stay with him. He's willing to give her time before he takes her to bed, but when he finds out she's trying to leave, he says he's done waiting and he'll take her whether she's ready or not. And this is where he basically intends to rape her. As I said, she decides that, even though she doesn't want it, she likes what he's doing to her and therefore consents, but she didn't really have a choice, did she? So Saardan ended up being pretty rapey after all. And not once did he offer to go home with her. No. The expectation is that SHE stay with HIM, wherever he is. Because he's the lord and alpha douchebag and she has to submit and do what he says. So at this point, given the emperor's tricky actions at the beginning of the story, it feels like the Lathar are just collecting human women for their own purposes by trapping them, taking away their choices and trying to breed them. The author puts a pretty face on it by having the couples "fall in love" but beneath the surface it feels super shady. If these couples weren't falling in love it would simply be forced enslavement and breeding, right? And I certainly don't get the impression that the Lathar would be morally opposed to that.

I am so hoping the author can redeem this entire race of warriors. I get the whole machismo culture that's bound to be prevalent in this kind of fictional culture, but I don't much like reading about modern (or futuristic) women seeing it as acceptable or even sexy and enjoyable. Obviously YMMV, but this so is not my thing.

Another good book in this series although I‘m a little confused by the order of the couples. All men are alpha males who underestimate their women at first. This can be a little annoying but to be honest I‘m a sucker for these type of book men.
The plot is entertaining and goes on over multiple books featuring different couples. But it is similar to previous books which doesn‘t change the fact I ate this up tho.
Dani and Sardaan both are badass and skilled fighters. They‘re perfect for each other and I enjoyed their banter.
Overall this was a fun and short read.

This series needs to move it along

At this point, book 7, now it feels like this series is just treading water. There’s still no deal or conclusion with the humans. Two new couples were introduced so it’s a toss up for which couple will be focused on in book 8. I’d say likely Danaar and the VP Madison if the author wants to move the series on at all.
This was another SFR where there was the back and forth struggle and tug of the human doing the whole “oh no not me! Oh no. I don’t want a mate. Oh, no no no! But oh look I’ve been horrible to a male and he still wants me. Let me keep fighting to point he does something crappy and then I’ll just gasp and whimper and feel my arousal pooling....”
I wanted to like this book, overall I’ve somewhat enjoyed the series. I had high hopes going into this addition to this series, but it fell flat and didn’t really progress the series forward. Just another version of a human fighting a bond, but with the characters having new names.
As far as this book goes there were some discrepancies. In the previous book it mentioned something like Dani had part of her head shaved. But no mention of that in this book and it mentioned putting her hair behind her ear etc. So like, she has longer hair now I guess?
I was getting to the point where I was beginning to get bored, and then Dani basically caved to him and then I got frustrated. How do you go from being the single biggest bada$$ in human military and not wanting a mate to then caving almost instantly from a few kisses. She didn’t struggle with losing a fight which I thought she should have more. Then she’s all whimpering and gasping. Sardaan got mad at her a few times and was getting aggressive. After he caught her trying to snatch a ship he got extremely angry and it truly felt like he was going to rape her especially after he said he was done waiting and she was going to be his. But of course instead of fighting what her thinking made everyone think that she perhaps did not want it, she just gave up and participated in the sex. But it had that undertone that if she hadn’t did the whole puddy in his hands, giving up against her previously mentioned natured, he’d have just taken it anyways. So there were some parts where things were getting that forced / anxiety inducing vibe.
Another time when he was mad at her, even if he did thinking she was betraying them he internally thought / called her a b*itch and it felt extremely distasteful. I was frankly shocked that a mate he should love and he wanted so much that even if he was mad he would turn so trashy and begin degrading name calling, even if it was only mentally.
He started out so sweet and funny sounding during his chapters. Then it was like once he got her he started changing into some border line jerk. The way he progressed did not seem true to character.
Overall, I was disappointed because this is the same ol’ song and dance that’s over running SFR with a human woman being moronic and fighting a good thing when she really has no other choice. So instead of making the best out of the situation or finding a doable alternative the books center on the ridiculous male graveling at the humans feet, she treats him like crap and doesn’t want the bond but oh wait she kinda considers it, then he gets bad then she does the whimper crap.
This book was not worth the price point of 3.99 IMO. This was for sure a Kindle Unlimited candidate. But it’s my understanding many authors are wanting to back away from using KU and wanting to up their book prices to make more money. Unfortunately the market is flooded with so much bland material and shorter books, I don’t know how all those authors think they’ll make anything if they leave KU and keep doing these prices. I rarely ever buy a book anymore unless I’m already into the series. Otherwise, I basically stick to KU cause it’s a better deal so I don’t feel ripped off after certain books.
I hope that this series gets back on track moving forward with book 8. It would be nice to see some new developments and the storyline actually progressing. Besides just another reluctant moron human fighting a bond that most human men would never dream of giving a female.

I I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my unbiased review.

I got the book on Sunday night, Philippine time. That time i was already sleep, I wanted to read it, but my eyes just kept on closing. I actually got to read the book Monday morning...and got to finished it around, 9 PM...

It was one of those books that you were not expecting. Yup, I love the plot, a Major General and one heck of a fighter. Then there is Sardaan, one of the few warriors under the command of Fenriis and Danaar...let me tell you these guys are like wow...I do not remember the exact ranking of Sardaan, but he is high up on the food chain...

What i truly adore in this series is their emperor. I would really like him to have his own HEA. He needs it the same with Xaandryn dad. I mean come on!!!

When Mina Carter writes, I get excited, her books are short, but the feeling is overwhelming.

I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Well done “he made her love him with hot alien sex” romp. We don’t get the “she wanted it all along” and she was just kidding herself until after so it very borderlines rape. Imho. And it is humble. Because while I liked the hero, the villain in this was the heroine herself. And that’s a killjoy for me. Why? Because it’s too easy. It’s not like he’s unattractive or a moron. The guy is actually funny and interesting. So why not use that to make her fall for him? No, instead it’s f-thee-well that does it. Anyway it is well written. The humans once again look like idiots. Next two books are set up.

She’s in her 40s and while he appears younger by a couple decades, he actually a couple years older.

The hero tried to get her to love him by "giving her time" which was like a day. Then he got angry she didn't want to be his mate and has sex with her. He tells her it's ok because she wants him.

No.

I like the overall storyline and the worldbuilding. The emperor has a great scene with assassins trying to get him.

I read this book as part of the Volume 2 box set.
I totally love any of the books in Mina Carters Warriors of the Lathar and Lathar Mercenaries series. These books are automatic one-clicks for me. The women in these series are strong. If they don't start out that way they certainly become that way. The men are hot. They love their women and are totally dedicated to them. The stories are well written and flow nicely. There are few if any typos. Sometimes the British colloquialisms throw me for a loop. The characters are all very different and there's no mistaking one for the other. They don't merge into one in my mind. Locations and scenes are described so that you can easily picture them in your mind. Each book has it's own HEA for the main couple but there's always a little something that let's you know that there will be another book to follow. I just wish that the stories were a little longer.

Love, Love, Love This Series

It's been awhile since a new Lathar book has been released. "Bonded to the Alien Centurian" did not disappoint. These proud, sexy, lethal warriors and their love for and protection of their human mates is a sci-fi romance lover's dream. Great storyline and characters grabbed my interest and kept me on the edge of my seat through the entire book. I highly recommend this series. I hope we don't have to wait too long for Isan and Danaar's books. 😁

Sardaan K’Vass was in awe as he stood in the same room as the Emperor himself! All around the room were famous warriors from many other vessels. He saw a warrior with a human and started thinking that he would like a human for himself. The Emperor was questioning Sardaan’s commander about Major General Black who would be important in the evening’s discussion. When his commander said that her gaze had flicked to Sardaan when they had been communicating, the Emperor was delighted and said Sardaan would be her escort for that evening’s dinner aboard the Latharian vessel and was to get into her bed. If he could get her to accept his claim over her, it would be even better for their future negotiations. She would be a strong mate!

Dani Black was dressed and ready for the dinner. She was furious with her superior Hopkins for attacking aliens with superior technology. Now Dani had to figure a way to rescue him and Vice President Madison Cole. She boarded the Latharian ship and met Sardaan who escorted her to the event. He flirted with her until they arrived at the door, then told her he would challenge and kill anyone to make her his! She went on high alert, realizing a mistake now could cause a diplomatic incident. At dinner, a warrior made a snide remark about female military being weak and challenged Dani to a fight. The Emperor had planned on Sardaan stepping in to take her place and show her what a good catch he was – but she stopped him from offering said she would accept the challenge.

Dani quickly defeated the over-confident alien, but Sardaan realized the Emperor intended to keep sending men in to fight her until she was exhausted and lost. So he quickly challenged for the claiming. Dani used this situation to ask the Emperor to allow Madison to return to her ship if she agreed to this new fight partner. He was surprised by her request and allowed it. Sardaan was a decorated warrior and a far better fighter than the other guy. His moves were careful and calculated. They were both breathing heavily as neither would give way, until a lucky punch took Dani down. He ultimately had to cut off her breathing briefly because she would not give up! But now he had to convince her to say yes to his claim. Would she do that? If not, there would be no end to the challenges. The Emperor didn’t care who won her, just that she be mated to one of them. How could he convince her? How could he win her heart? And who would secretly try to stop them at all costs?

I completely loved this story!!! It was well-written, fast-paced, and very exciting! The main characters were developed well, and worthy of the reader’s respect as each of them was honorable and always doing the right thing for others. This book was incredible and I highly recommend it. The action never stops and it’s a wild adventure for the lucky reader!

Master General Black’s dinner materialized into a fight challenge and a Right Of Claiming
Sardaan K’Vass had been in awe of human females they were so tiny and delicate and yet he knew they had the pride of a lion, the bravery of a lioness and fought and struck with the speed and surety of a venomous snake. He had been appointed by the Emperor to act as Dani Black’s escort whilst she was on board the Latharian ship to negotiate future Earth and human relations with the Latharians.also to negotiate the release of the prisoners Hopkins and Vice President Mad.
Sardaan had already been advised by the Emperor that he believed he would be a good mate for the female whom he had spoken with on only a small number of occasions, when he me her he had instantly known that he was hers and that he would do anything to keep this small and delicate human safe. However, he had failed to relate to their fierce pride and also that they were excellent warriors, when she was challenged at dinner for a fight she had accepted and had easily beaten the hulking warrior, shaming him in front of his fellow crewmates.
Sardaan realized the Emperor intended to continue sending warriors in to the circle to fight with her until her strength failed and then she would be claimed by the winning warrior, he realised the only solution was for him to challenge her to a Right Of Claiming, when he won the fight he would be able to claim her as his mate it was as binding and he would be able to keep her as his mate, a female was both precious and highly valued among his people.
These two fought bravely and they were both extremely competent warriors and they had the braids and medals to prove it however, they had no one of any importance in their lives both of them being totally career minded, they were loyal to their people and to the future of their race and it was also extremely obvious that they were extremely attracted to each other and when they finally got together “sparks would surely fly.”
I completely loved this story!!! It was well-written, fast-paced, and very exciting! The characters and the plot were extremely well though through and it kept the reader guessing what the final outcome would be.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Thank Goodness the Lathar are back! I've had withdrawal symptoms.

Dani is on a mission to ensure that the Vice President is returned safe and unharmed from the Lathar ship. She did not rise to the rank of Major General by being weak but as she approaches the ship she realises just how out-classed the Terrans are.

Sardaan is a revered warrior and works with Fenriis and Danaar. But he has a very well hidden softer side - he is coaching weaker warriors so that they are not untrained cannon fodder. He refuses to ignore them as others do. When he first saw Dani onscreen he felt the tug towards her. Now he just has to get her to understand that she is his, and he is hers! Oh and maybe put down a truly stupid plan to try and overtake the ship!

Dani and Sardaan truly are two of a kind. Both are strong, determined and loyal to their leaders - although one learns that power has a way of corrupting. Dani is superb at taking down misogynistic men quickly - causing more than a few rude awakenings. But secrets, lies and mistrust are exacting a toll on the flames that erupt when they are alone! And it's also great that the leaders are older, even if one doesn't quite look it - even with the silver hair!

Great addition to the series and I am on tenterhooks waiting for a certain leader to get his HEA.

Sardaan and Dani

I just love this series I am never tired of it. The books will have you smiling or laughing out loud at some of the antics of the Warriors and how they are learning to cope with human women. And this book is no different the stories just keep getting better as these tough rugged Warriors are pitted against human intelligence and let's just say Humanity is lacking.

Dani and Sardaan are both older Warriors who made a career and their own militaries. Start an help train the Quesadan of his race. These young men are 3rd and 4th children or should I say generations that are considered of no importance. Their lives are worth nothing to their families and that in itself is sad but that is the way of the lost our world.

Dani join the military to escape her planet after all her family has died. She is only known the military life since that time and has made a name for herself among that group of people. She is strong and fearless no matter how petite she is and will not back down from a challenge if she believes she can win.

These two characters we're interesting enough to read that I didn't put the book down once I started it and I can just say thoroughly enjoyed their story.

I have voluntarily written this review.

Major General Danielle Black is in a bit of a bind. She has had to board the Lathar ship because of the stupidity of Terran General Hopkins who has attacked the Lathar and is now being held along with the Vice President Madeline Cole on board the Veral'vias. Dani has to come up with a plan to have the Vice President moved back over to her ship the TSS Defiant without starting a war with the Latharians who could literally wipe out Terra. So how did she end up in challenge match with Sardaan K'Vass one of the Latharians who she has spoken to and finds quite attractive. She has been out maneuvered by the Emperor Daanyal and now finds herself bound to Sardaan, but on the up side she did bargain for the Vice President to be moved back over to the Defiant, so it was not a total loss. Now with orders from the Terran Command to find a way for another idiot general to board the Lathar ship and capture the Emperor himself she will be lucky to survive the attack when the Latharian's find out and how is she supposed to keep everyone she cares about including Sardaan safe. A big thank you to Mina Carter for the wonderful review copy. I have also bought another copy for my library. Love this series can't wait to see who is next to find their mate.

Ok, I have to say this up front. I love the Lathar world and characters. Hunky aliens who have respect for women is a huge turn on for me. ;)

I basically just spent two days rereading the whole series based on a bad review I read on this books review list. I just couldn't figure out if we were reading the same books and I hadn't visited the Lathar world in a while. (Not mad about rereading this series at all.)

I loved the h (Dani). She was strong and kickass and while she was between a rock and a hard place with her attraction for H (Sardaan), I could tell that all the denial was the same inner dialogue, I've had myself, about not being sure that the physical attraction is for the right reasons or that she believed it would negatively affect her life.

Anyway I think that when things go too perfectly in a book it feels, flat, fake, and boring. So I love how Ms. Carter winds her craft and makes me want to keep reading and interested with little pressures and plot twist. Doing such an excellent job of balancing Alpha males with alpha females in such a believable and beautiful dance towards romance and love. Keep up the good work Ms. Carter, I look forward to more books of the Lathar.

On the one hand, these books are fun, trashy escapism; on the other hand, they're pretty darn rapey. Some of these series don't even make a pretense of being, like, books about actual people that make sense, but this series does - there is an actual plot going on, and there are occasional glimpses of the fact that this is not all happy fun and games (as in, the Lathar are fully capable of exterminating the human species and might do so if things don't work out for them) so when we have scenarios like this one, where a human woman is essentially forced into mating a Lathar warrior and expected to then give up all her loyalties to the military (in which she has spent her entire adult life) - uh, what? Especially given that the heroine of this book made a comment in a previous book implying she's a lesbian (that is ignored here) - like, good point; this whole set-up is pretty damn horrifying and especially so if you consider that the Lathar probably don't understand lesbianism because they view human women as essentially available to them unless they already belong to a different Lathar warrior. Ugh. Why even bring it up if you're not going to go there? I'm enjoying reading the books but I probably shouldn't be.

Bonded to the Alien Centurion ( Warriors of the Lathar 6)

I started at the end of this whole series. I started with the Latharian Mate Program. So I have already met some of these great men and women later on.
Mina Carter does a fabulous job with the entire series of combining the right amount of plot line with erotica in the story. I remember the first one I read I was a bit nervous it would be very alien. Which it is, but I have seen others that make the ship and everything so that you lose the excitement of first the story and second the erotica.
In this story it does not disappoint. Basically, the Emperor telling Sardaan to keep be on her till she is claimed. Sardaan had no intention to lay claim to her through a fight. He had to whisper things when he could because he cared about her. Turns out that was their claim. But that was not the end of all the craziness for them.
Thankfully, Sardaan saw past her and she forgave him for how angry he got. Together they fell in love.
They were super erotically so it was damn good they fell in love.
I am hoping Dani gets pregnant. That's my wish!

MUST READ!

I really enjoyed this story! It was a fun read. I have really enjoyed this series so far. This can be read as a standalone but if you have read the previous books in the series you will understand some of the dynamics and characters a little bit more than if this is the first book you're reading. That being said, it's not needed, we are given the information needed for this story, in this story. It's just an extra if you have. I really enjoyed Dani and her personality. She is not afraid of the men and knows how to put them down. Sardaan is smitten with Dani from the moment he saw her. He definitely has his work cut out for him as he tries to scale her walls and get her to trust him and give in to their feelings. The sex is explicit and blended into the story well. The story moves at a great pace. There is plenty of action and intrigue along with the relationship building and focus. I'm super excited to continue with this series and can't wait to see who is next.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I'm not a huge fan of the scifi romance that is essentially just paranormal romance in space. Fated mates being the main trope I dislike, but it's almost impossible to avoid it these days. But in the past the Lathar books have been mostly okay - fated mates, but at least the aliens aren't shapeshifters or prefer to live in ancient castles or whatever. In the handful of Lathar books I've read, I've really liked the heroines and how tough they all are, so I figured I'd just keep going (my library doesn't have all of them, so I haven't read them in order, but it doesn't seem to make a huge difference).

This one just... didn't have much of anything going for it. I didn't care much about Sardaan or Dani, and the plot itself wasn't very interesting. Combined with the fated mates and another of my least favorite things ("I've got to resist him!" says the heroine, and then they make out and she forgets why she wanted to resist him; maybe it's the asexual in me, but I just can't take it seriously), it all added up to... not a great time.

Dani Black is one tough woman. She is a Major General and can take on any man and win. She wants to insure that Madison Cole, the VP, it returned safely. But the Latharians have other plans. Sardaan is to be her escort and plans to conquer her. Once in the circle, it is a matter of winner the match and her. But nothing is ever easy.

Sardaan maybe a tough warrior but when he sees Dani, he wants to just protect her. She is a tough cookie. You have to love that she was not going to allow any man or alien to take her. She is a bad ass fighter and is equal if not better than the Latharians. I have to say that I really get mad when these higher ups keep trying to threaten our women officers. They need to be captured. I did cry during the book and I was a bit heartbroken but it turned around. The Latharian men are hot and sexy and know EXACTLY how to treat a woman, well sometimes. Now we need to find out fi Danaar is next or Kenna.

“Technically I’m alone behind enemy lines. That’s not a good place to be in a pair of heels.”

Dani is one of the strongest/toughest officers the military has turned out in recent history -a living legend. Her mission parameters sound simple, gather intelligence, and negotiate the release of the V.P., from an all male Alien force with superior technology, and a warrior culture... easy, right?

Sardaan saw Dani first, he's the communications officer on the Lathar ship, and the moment he saw Dani he knew she was something special. Time and again she proves he was right.

This done in one quick read is part of an overarching arc/Universe, but stands really well on its own. A great story about picking your battles, whether you are the stronger or weaker force, it isn't just about whether or not you can win, but whether this battle should be fought, and what its consequences will be.

This series has been so much fun, just way loved it. sighs dreamily thinking about the sexy males of Lathar.

You'd think by now Lathar would get a small clue about human females, but nope. lol Sardaan is still in awe and wonder about the tiny female warrior of Earth. It all started with a voice. *winks*

MS Black a hard nose career military her only focus is getting the VP back on her ship safe and sound?
she didn't count on the huge sexy as sin warrior that is her escort, nor did either of them see the challenge that loomed ahead of them.

I liked how the story fast-tracked and progressed I've always liked that about Mina's books. Easy to read fun characters both sexy hot, both smart and sassy. A punch of a story, the right amount of detail, some fan worthy scenes all fitted in nicely. Again Mina shows her amazing talent as a writer. Enjoy.

Another enjoyable read in this series but too short to do this story real justice.
A great plot that kept me reading till the end but this series needs to step it up a bit and move forward. A few discrepancies between descriptions in earlier books and this one.
Also as much as I loved Dani, she seemed to lose the Major Tough title pretty easily.
Unfortunately there is a sad part which was upsetting.
I want to know what the president of earth is doing though, that all these attacks are being orchestrated. Is he just ignorant or culpable of idiocy.
I love how capable, smart and strong the human female characters are.
There are so many characters whose story I want to read and I cannot wait for the next book.
This is my honest review of this book.

Tricked into a fight

She came to dinner to talk about getting the vice president back. She was tricked into a fight against lathar warrior. She beat the socks of the warriors and her escort who fell for her when the 1st time that they talked challenge her to a fight and if he wins , he claims her as his own. As they are getting to know one another. She's being blackmailed into helping a jerk commander and telling him it won't work and that the larthar are more that what everyone thinks. She helps and was going to tell her mate of the plan. Didn't happen and she was put into a cell. He finds out about her being bkaclmail. He tells her he was sorry and that he does love her and would do anything to prove it to her.

This is part of the Lathar series. I’m a little surprised how many women are in top command, out in the middle of space and are matches for the Alien Warriors. Putting that aside, you see can see that these women are written as critical thinkers, powerful individuals that are willing to do what is right for all of human kind, and they can kick some arse. Does that get them into a bit of a bind? Maybe, but it’s the bureaucrats that started it. As this story progressed, I wanted to see the other stories that were just budding play out. Hopefully we won’t have to wait to long for their stories. I enjoyed the story, it had a good pace and good characters.
