Christmas is a magical time, especially in Mossy Creek, TX. Quinn O'Donnell can't wait to share such a special time with her six-year-old daughter, Ali. But this being Mossy Creek, nothing is ever as it seems and the holiday season promises to be the most magical ever. Join Quinn and Ali as they enjoy Ali's first Christmas in Mossy Creek where dreams can come true if you believe and are willing to fight for them and for the people you love. This short story is set in the Eerie Side of the Tracks "universe" and takes place between Witchfire Burning and Light Magic.
I obtained this short story through the Kindle Unlimited program.
Ah, the short story; my first love in reading as a near adult. EASY! to read. Hard to review.
Quinn came back to Mossy Creek, on The Eerie Side of the Tracks, as an adult. It wasn't her first choice, but when her daughter started manifesting the ability to control fire and wind, she knew she needed to get to the one place she could get some help.
She got more than just help; she got an entirely new family, nuclear and extended. And she got dogs. And a semi-sentient house.
And she fell in: L-U-R-V-E!!!!!
And now it's Christmas.
No kidding: this IS a Hallmark movie. I should know; I've heard enough of them from the next room. And that's all I can say, without spoilers. If you've never watched a Hallmark movie, well, please do not start on my account. But if you HAVE watched a Hallmark movie, you will recognize the special moments, when people make memories.
I need to go shoot a gun or eat some steak or something now.
I liked her descriptions of family Christmas in a small town but I missed the series background to put it into real context. It was maybe a little too sweet for me but it was charming.
I picked the story out of curiosity and the fact that it was part of a magical creatures series. I was disappointed that it wasn't a magical drama but the story itself wasn't disappointing.
