I listened to this through Audible Plus. I love LJ Shen so I was very excited.....and promptly very disgusted. From the beginning the H is way beyond an asshole and basically tells the h that she’s going to have sex with him (you know, because he’s famous and everyone wants him) she tells him ‘no’ - they fool around - she tells him ‘no’ to full sex - and he does it anyway. It was so problematic. I know it’s a short steamy listen but this was more cringy than sexy. It got better after the initial encounter but it didn’t make up for the first half. Don’t worry LJ, I still love you - just not this story.

This is one of those far reaching fantasies that comes true for Hannah, a single mum working on Christmas Eve. She is delivering a room service order to the presidential suite to an extremely difficult guest, well based on his fussy order anyway.
Turns out that the guest is the man at the top of her spank bank fantasy list, only he pops her awe filled bubble initially. She goes from being in awe of him to thinking he is a bit of a dick to then having the most unforgettable night of her life. Merry Christmas to her :)
Alas, the one night stand she knew she would never forget does not end as a wistful memory. When fantasy guy comes knocking on her door she realises this is going to be so much bigger than one night.
Yes this is one of those insta love/connection stories and some people won't like the male MC's tactics of getting Hannah to submit to him but it's fiction and pure escapism. If you're sensitive to this sort of story then don't read it.

This might be my favorite LJ Shen ever because while the MMC was still an asshole it was short lived before he was wrapped around her little finger. And really, she didn’t have to try very hard.
Another Christmas tale that had nothing to do with Christmas but I’m ok with that. It was smutty and sweet and that’s all that matters.

This was so bad. So bad. I can’t really making sense of it—like what is going on here? I mean, I saw the reviews, and didn’t expect this to blow my socks off but LOL WOW. Part of me feels like LJ Shen wrote this on a dare. Someone said to write the most over-the-top story you can that fits all of those misconceptions and tropes the general public seems to think fit romance books and voila … this was the result.
He is the heroine’s rock star crush and she’s the poor girl on the hotel staff and his name is Fabio for crying out loud. His such a stereotypical “she’s asking for it” dudebro asshole. No wait. He’s a Chad. Omg. He’s such a Chad.
Okay, anyway, my headcanon is this book is actually a daydream the heroine has between room service deliveries in the hotel she works at. It makes total sense when you think of it that way.
Really, this was an entertaining af listen … if only because it was so cringe.
I only listened to this because there is an Audible Rewards promo going for listening every day over the next couple of days and I needed something quick to read … it made how entertainingly bad this is worth it.
As a warning, there are some blatant consent issues in this teensy tiny book. Such as the heroine walking in on him (deliberately) nude the first time they meet, and him sexually propositioning her right after, as well as her telling him no, and him ignoring her.
*whispers* also, it’s stories like this that make people think LJ Shen uses ghostwriters. 🤫

I hate giving one star ratings but this was a bit too ridiculous for me.
Fabio is depicted as an immature, egotistical, narcissistic a-hole serial fornicator. He uses his celebrity status to blackmail people into breaking the law so he can get what he wants. Real stand-up type of guy. He’s a famous rock star whom Hannah has had a massive crush on for years.
Hannah is depicted as a devoted single mother who loves her son more than anything and works two jobs to have the funds to give him a decent life. Yet she decides to spend the whole night in Fabio’s hotel room while she’s on the clock? 😕
Hannah and Fabio spend the whole night f^cking each other’s brains out in his hotel room on Christmas Eve. At one point he shoves his dick inside her with no condom on. She yells out “no!” but Fabio just keeps on going and what does Hannah do? She just lets him keep going and thinks ‘oh well. I can take the morning after pill tomorrow and get tested for STDs.’ Seriously? WTF? Some devoted mom she is. Fabio has slept with hundreds of women and as far as Hannah knows he could easily be riddled with STDs, but oh well, no biggie. Give me a break.
Knowing nothing about Hannah except that she’s hot and good in bed, Fabio decides she’s the one for him and he’s going to turn over a new leaf and treat her right. He gets her address through some nefarious means and shows up at her house the next morning. He barges in and starts making out with her and starts taking off her clothes and she lets him even though her 3 year old son is in the other room. Gross. Her son comes in and breaks up the shenanigans and all of a sudden Fabio is a choir boy who is so sweet to Hannah and her son all day and gets the boy his dream Christmas gift. After tucking her son in, Hannah proceeds to have some more sex with Fabio. Fabio says he’s going to quit his bad boy ways and they live happily ever after.
This is basically just a short smut-filled novella that has no real substance.

2.5 ⭐️ Short! Gives Hallmark Christmas movie vibes with spice. The MMC is named Fabio and that was super cheesy. It’s hopelessly unrealistic but It’s good for what it is.

Diciamo che essendo una novella non poteva più di tanto essere argomentata? Ecco io darei giusto questa scusante, la brevità. I protagonisti avevano tutto il potenziale tanto che al primo capitolo ho pensato..Ecco, ci siamo..peccato che abbia continuato a pensarlo fino alla fine, ma la svolta non sia mai arrivata! Non ho ancora letto nient'altro di questa autrice ancora inedita in Italia, ma credo abbia tutto il potenziale per spiccare.

Typically like to read every now and again an L.J. Shen contemporary romance so when I was on audible I came across this short listen (approx. 57 mins). What I thought was going to be a nice novella listen turned into a bunch of mess. Couldn't get any kind of connection i.e. love and was it consent when he practically made her sex him. Nothing...notta in this short flop.

There has never will be an audiobook that Savannah and Jason narrate that I won't EAT up like I have been starving for 3 years! They just have that perfect way of bringing our characters to life!
I truly loved Hannah and Fab's story! What I thought was going to be a bang and go situation went straight into Rockstar Daddy! We went from Fab being SUPER hot to sooo much hotter than the sun when its shining! I can appreciate a man who knows what he wants and refuses to settle for anything less!
Seeing this little family build and build was such a bittersweet moment! I cannot wait to dig into more from LJ! She truly has a way of pulling me in and not letting go. I loved every single word spoken and feel as if I'm not going to be able to breathe properly until I read more of her work!

Letto la mattina di Natale si divora in poco tempo. Ho amato tantissimo lo stile, sfrontato e molto rock, come è giusto che sia. Mi è piaciuta la storia anche se ho avuto l'impressione di leggere un riassunto. Come se fosse un libro normale condensato in poche righe. Ho patito la brevità, avrei preferito che fosse sviluppata di più. Inoltre ho appena letto Idol della Callihan e questo me l'ha ricordato. Nonostante ciò si fa leggere con piacere e se uscirà altro di questa autrice lo leggerò.

This very short but definitely good heartwarming and spicy novella is definitely worth listening to, specially if you have some free time or want to get through unsavoury chores.
A musician and hotel house keeper get together in this instant love/lust story. It is spicy and quick, but really good too and the narration is fantastic.

Story 3.75 stars rounded up. Narration 4.5 stars
Cute novella, but pretty unrealistic. Love at first sight which I have problems with unless it’s werewolves. 😉. Still it kept me entertained during its brief story. Pretty much all you can ask for while reading/listening to a novella.

Even though this is a holiday audio novella thats only about an hour long, it still includes lots of the good stuff. Holiday vibes, sexy times, even a happily ever after!
Now this is not some literary masterpiece, it’s predictable and a bit cheesy at times. But that is what I expect and enjoy about light-hearted holiday novellas.
Loved the narrators as well. Also included free with Audible Plus Membership.

This is ridiculous. I'd preferred it if this was a story of a one-night stand and nothing deeper. Currently listening to it while typing (5 minutes left) and I can't imagine anything happening that would make me up this rating.
