This is a great page-turner of a book. A young woman who suffers from anxiety stemming from a childhood trauma finds herself entangled in a murder investigation, with reason to believe she could be the next victim.

Sprinkled throughout the book are just enough hints to what is really going on to make you want to keep reading, if only to find out if your theories are correct. Just when you start to suspect one person of being the killer, another character begins acting suspiciously and you have to re-evaluate everything you've read so far.

I must say, I did predict the twist at the end, but that did not diminish my pleasure in finding out I was right. It certainly was not an obvious twist. What happened was that I was wracking my brain to figure out what was really going on, and I was coming up with all these wild theories. One of my theories happened to be the right one. So cool when that happens!

I definitely recommend this book to all fans of the psychological thriller.

I was gifted this book by the author I have read nearly all of her work. All has been good. This was no exception. I loved the story and the mystery surrounding Reagan's stalking. Her neighbor murdered. The notes and blood on the WALLS....OH, my gosh! The chemistry between Reegz and Aiden is amazing. Lifelong friends. Always there for each other. I found it interesting and had to keep turning pages to find out what the answers were! A great book!

Holy moly! This book was a pretty wild ride! Still thinking about this book and I finished it like a week ago.

While this story wasn't exactly what I had been expecting, it was still a good one! Kept me on the edge of my seat for more than one part and threw me for a loop with the twists in the story.

There was a little more that I wish was explained, but not enough that it ruined the story for me.

If you want something a little edgy, but aren't big on thrillers because they're too much, I think this is a good in between. It has the thrill and there's some intense scenes, but I, personally, wouldn't think it's too intense or up with many of the recent thrillers I have read.

Great read

The characters were real, story was fantastic, at times kept me in edge. Loved the twist in the story. Having a loyal living dog in the story was a comfort that she always had a protector.

This is a story that follows a girl from childhood trauma to adulthood without the chance to heal. Add to that the growing pattern of darkness, mistrust, and an anxious feeling of being watched, with a side of romance.
The result is a woman, haunted by her past, and terrified of a future that could lead to her death.
This psychological suspense kept me guessing, and several mysteries and questions had me second-guessing myself. As I read, the paranoia from the story transcended through the page, making me feel like I was the one being watched.
The Scanner takes a look into the dark truth of anxiety, trauma, and the raw, thrilling emotions between friends who just might become something more. I highly recommend it to lovers of thrillers, suspense, and mystery.
