Broke, unemployable, and shunned by society, he has no choice but to live in a halfway house for ex-cons, where his roommate is a fellow predator. And, as if things couldn’t get worse, the father of the girl he went to prison for has sworn revenge against him.
But soon Kerry realizes he’s been targeted by a dangerous psychopath who’s using the sex offender registry for his own twisted needs. Once in this man’s clutches, Kerry will have to defend his past transgressions as never before, and decide how far he’s willing to go for redemption...

This is an excellent written novel. The plot line and story is very well written and intense. I love the characters and could feel the emotions running through this one. I look forward to reading more from this author. Recommend reading.

We were in the car on our way home with my wife driving. We had 100 miles to go, and it was dark. I had a book I was reading, but I couldn't read in the dark and I didn't want to bother my wife with the light on. So I pulled up the Kindle app on my phone and found Predator, which had been sitting there for quite some time after I had bought it during a promotion. I started reading it that night and continued on the next couple of days, kind of forgetting the paperback book I had been reading, at least for awhile. The protagonist is someone who made a mistake and is labeled a sex offender, although his "crime" involved relations with a girl who was only four years younger than he was. During his stay at a halfway house, we meet several other characters with other offenses. Connor makes them human, people who made mistakes and are trying to do better. Of course, Connor writes horror, and there is plenty of that in this story.
Hating someone for years for what they did hurts those around them. This book is hard to put down and some people will hate it.keary has served his time for child molestation. He spends his time free in a group home where the other Ex cons look down on him like most society. But what happens as people learn the truth about him. Then other sex offenders start being murdered. As you gain an attachment to some of the characters you will learn that in the end they are people and how they are all affected by one person is amazing and then as people die off you learn that some people will kill all that they believe as a predator without really knowing them and their crimes. We label people as terrible because the metoo movement made it that way and even before that it was just how people were. But why hate when you have no clue
The subject matter of this book may be a trigger for some readers. For those who can read it though you are in for a treat! This is my first time reading this author and I love the way he tells a story! This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat, it’s a definite page turner so get comfy before starting this book as you shall not want to move till you have finished it! It’s a great story and wonderfully written. Looking forward to reading more from this author. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am a connoisseur of Stephen King and Dean Koontz and so I was thrilled to stumble upon the writings of Mr. Connor! I have loved all of them since, yes, I've read them all. The bad thing is once you find an author to feed your habit, eventually you come to the end. My own fault for greedily blowing through them all in a few days.... Now what do I do? Ask him to write faster? My only real complaint is that me being an animal lover is that some of his furry friends don't make it.
I had no idea what to expect when I started Predator, but once I did start it was impossible to put down. Connor takes all the elements of a mystery, thriller, romance and horror and twists them together making me wish the story didn't end so soon. Predator made me think about my own prejudices and luck, thinking that " there but for the grace of God..."

Although the author created an interesting plot and lots of information regarding various forms of illegal sex, it was very slow getting started with no hint where it was going. Finally, I skipped to the last 20 pages just to finish and move on to a more exciting novel.
As with every Russell C. Connor book I've read, this one was very well written and kept me on the edge of my seat til the end. He has a way of connecting the reader with the characters that I don't see in a lot of authors. Word of warning, this book deals with a topic which some people may find disturbing.
This was such a great read, I couldn't put it down. Great character development and a fast paste captivating plot. There are only a hand full of books I would read more than once and this is in that category.
I enjoyed this book very much. The action is non-stop. It is a work of fiction so I didn't feel bad for liking it. The writing is top notch and some of the scenes you just hold your breath and wait to see what happens next.
This story brought to light the trials and discrimination the sex offenders have to put up with. It's a tough line whether some can be cured and those that cant. It had a lot of suspense and was a good thriller.
I loved this book until the last 1/4. I thought the fact that both the girl's father and Solomon too much, and the violence at the end too extreme. Other than that well written and great characters.
Good book to read. I wanted to keep reading just to find out what happened next. In the end, you'll be able to see Kerry as an underdog and feel the struggles he has.
Wow, what a cast of flawed and complex characters. Having read several of Russell’s books, he excels at creating flawed characters and this book is in my opinion his best character work yet. If you’ve read the synopsis you know these characters have done wrong (to say the least). This story is not about their actions and punishments but about what is next for them after doing their “time.” Seeing how they interact with each other flips back-and-forth between funny and sad. How they go about making a living to try supporting themselves and society's reaction to them. But once someone decides to target them and carry out their own justice it gets crazy. Loaded with “h0ly sh!t” moments. I cannot recommend this enough.
