My name's Charli Kiernan, and I came to the upstate town of Gunner's Lake to lay my grandfather to rest. Instead, I discovered an ancient evil had awoken.
Lurking in the mountain at the edge of my grandfather's property is a timeless, malevolent creature with a hunger for human innocence.
But I don't have to face her alone.
The same day I rolled back into town, so did they.
Frank “Jackal” Fiorentino - a smoldering, seven-feet-tall former Army Ranger with the darkest brown eyes I've ever seen, and a body that begs me to experience all the pleasure I've denied myself my whole life.
And Callan “Rawhide” McCallister - a gorgeous, blue-eyed boy from Texas with the physique of a WWE wrestler and a crooked smile that can melt a pair of panties from across the room.
Best friends, who've crossed this country back and forth searching to end the same evil that now haunts this place.
They've found her - but they found something else as well.
Me.
It's like destiny brought us together. They're the first men who've ever made me tremble with desire, and I can see in their eyes that I've awoken something similar in each of them. Our lips met within a day of meeting, and the cold autumn started to heat up pretty damn quickly.
Breathless. Passionate. Intense. We were meant to be together - all three of us.
But we can't build a future together, until we destroy the evil that's haunting our past.
Jackal and Rawhide is a 95,000 word, paranormal romance novel featuring scenes of blistering eroticism, chilling terror, and intense emotion - all climaxing in a guaranteed HEA. Enjoy!

A surprisingly sweet story considering the cover art lol
Oh, and the title lol.
Charli is back in town. A town she swore never to come back to after the trauma centered around the camp her grandfather owned. But Grampa Dale has passed away and she needs to go back to settle his estate. The estate that half of it entails the camp. The other half is the motel, where she meets Jackal and Rawhide. Or Frank and Callan, rather. They showed up in the nick of time. But why exactly are they here? Retired Army Rangers, loaded for bear, in the middle of nowhere, seems a little suspicious. Suddenly small minded townspeople buried in lies are the least of her worries.
Spoilers ahead! I enjoyed the heroine. She was strong, didn't quibble and faced everything head on. For a 22yo college student, that's pretty impressive. Especially one who was kidnapped as a teen, even if she didn't remember it, it didn't leave her fragile. The guys were a dynamic duo. Bonded during their time in Iraq and continued their friendship back on American soil. Their discovery, and agreed upon need to destroy the demon bonded them further. I have to say, Charli's self admitted activities (how she lost her hymen, eep) and the incident that the guys were involved in in the cave in Sedona (the tendrils, kinky) were, um, odd to say the least. The one seemed like a "one time at camp" story and the other more like a hentai tale. But there is an actual plot to this story. It's not just a faint carrier for the romance. Granted, there are some plot holes. The demon they're trying to destroy shouldn't be in its current location. It would have made more sense in Iraq, actually. But then the heroine part would have to be rewritten lol. A summer camp in upstate NY with missing kids wouldn't fit that narrative. But, the plot moved along, there was a little mystery, a few decent battles and an HEA. All elements that add to a successful story.
Charlie has finally come back to Gunner's Lake after 7 years to settle her grandfather's estate. She pulls up to the old inn to find some troublemakers getting ready to bust out the windows. When intimidating them doesn't work, things get physical and she realizes she's truly out muscled. Just as it's about to turn really bad, two huge guys on Harleys till in to her rescue. Callan and Frank, also known as Rawhide and Jackal, are looking for something and Gunner's Lake may be where they'll find it. When they roll into the forecourt of the old inn, after being turned away from the hotel in town, they can't help the urge to protect the feisty little coed being harassed by a group of young punks. Charli, Callan and Frank are about to embark on an adventure beyond what any of them imagined. The question is...Will they survive? Loved, loved, loved it! Great characters, great plot, great twists. Definitely a must read!
Another great read by Simone. I was hooked from the beginning of this book. There was really no slow parts. Jackal (Frank) and Rawhide (Callan) are ex Army Rangers and best friends. Charlie is returning to the hotel and camp her grandfather left her. She meets the two men when she runs into a little trouble. The attraction between them is instantaneous. There is a lot of action, revealing truths and some twists and turns. The chemistry between the three is explosive and loving. The have a connection that can’t ever be broken. This had a potential of being an MMF with how close Callen and Frank are, but Simone put it as a MFM. It would have been good either way. This was a great paranormal story with wonderful characters
OMG! Can anyone say proofread!!! This book would have been outstanding but grammatical errors and bad sentence structure abounded throughout this book! The story line was unusual so that is the only thing that kept me reading! Two gorgeous men and one woman, fighting a demon with characters that surround this demon! The sex was minimal the story line more the focal point! But when there was it was steamy! If you can overlook the errors it's a decent read!
The paranormal aspect of this story was far more than I was anticipating, in a good way. Had this mystery element and this frightening sort of myth (or truth depending on who you ask) based story that made the book more realistic. The imitate scenes were hotter than I expected as well. I only wish there had been an extended an epilogue - 7 years later showing that they had truly prevailed and how their lives worked in the long term. Perhaps the author could work that in. It seems soul mates or destiny applies to this trio and I enjoyed that aspect as well.
I didn't even get through the first chapter. How are the about the be raped by a bunch of teenagers, and the first thing out of your mouth to the men that saved you is, "I could have handled that myself" !!!??? She was outnumbered and obviously not that skilled a fighter, so why would she think she had that situation under control? I hate overly feminist characters that want to come off as tough, but are just bitches.
I always liked stories of the original evil of Lilith and this didn't disappoint. She was wonderfully creepy and enticing. I liked that Charli is strong, but her injuries in the real estate office are never addressed. Jackal and Rawhide are deliciously sexy and determined. Totally enjoyed this read.
This book had a lot going on; and I loved all of it! The characters were easy to get to know, likeable, and the story was believable. I don’t normally go for paranormal romances but I was offered it for free in exchange for a review.
I really enjoyed the storyline and will give other books a chance. But with that being said the author needs to find a different proof reader because there are a lot of misspellings in this book. I had to go back and reread several sections to figure out what the author was actually trying to say because the wrong verbiage was used.
It's been 7 years since Charli been back to her grandfather's place. The town wants her sell it but the memories she holds there well let her. Callan an Frank aka Jeckal and Rawhide are chasing after something they need to take care of. The guys feel the pull to Charli but before they can even see future with her they need to handle some things.
Loved this book! Action, adventure and the paranormal with lots of very sexy moments. Simone Scarlet did a great job at keeping me reading well past my bedtime.
This was another good book from simone, I really enjoy the points of views from charli, jackal, and rawhide to make the story complete. Can not wait to see what is next for this author.
This was a really great book and a very surprising read. I felt like I was really in the story. The author knows how to keep your interest and it was very intense, keep you on the edge of your seat story. Great book!
This was a great book with some horror on the side. I liked that Charli had a backbone when a lot of other people would have caved. Frank and Callan were just hot nuff said. I liked this one a lot.
This was a fast and fun read, told in a 3 persons point of view. Although the author had the habit of reminding us who the 2 main male characters were and their nicknames, in case we forgotten. If you like to read threesomes, this book is for you 😉
Gets more trouble than she expected returning to the one place that had been home for her good thing rawhide and jackal rolled into town looking for her trouble
A truly wonderful book. A thrill to read. I honestly didn't know what was going to happen as the story unfolded. I hope others enjoy it as much as I did.
