Expecting His Baby

Rate this book
For nine months, I get the royal treatment. All I have to do is make a baby with him. For nine months, I’ll live like royalty, in a mansion resting on a wooded estate. I’ll dine with celebrities and share hors d'oeuvres with politicians. I’ll ride on a galloping thoroughbred over rolling hills by day and let myself be driven through the glittering city lights at night. And I’ll step onto the red carpet in my couture gown on the arm of Daniel, a billionaire as gorgeous as he is mysterious. I don’t know everything about him, but I know what matters. I know that he can start my heart pounding with a single glance. That his embrace is as overwhelming as it is protective. That his scent arouses and intimidates in equal measure. That his touch makes it impossible to think. And he uses it all to get whatever he wants. I have little time to know him better. To see what kind of man he is behind the mask. To see if he can be a good father to our child. So I can convince myself that I’m not making the worst mistake of my life. Because in nine months’ time when our baby is born... I must leave them all behind. Expecting His Baby is a stand-alone novel with no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Booksprouts arc

Daniel had been looking through folders with photographs of the women who could have his baby. He looked at Kia picture and that was all he knew she was the one he wanted. He reviewed her qualities and medical history and was impressed. Kia goes to the interview with Margo Bennett who works for Daniel. Kia and Margo hit it off right away as she finds out that Daniel is very private and will follow the contact to the letter. She told Kia not only did Daniel like what he saw but Margo knew this would be a good match. Kia was told once she delivers the baby that she will not know whether it’s a boy or girl and immediately give up parental rights. Kia and Daniel start to talk about her life when they went to pick up her things at her apartment as Daniel decided that she live with him for the nine months. Kia wanted to know more about Daniel because he would be caring for his heir. She told him she knew the child would never want for anything but what about love. Daniel takes Kia into his office where he had to pick up something’s for work. Richard, Daniel’s brother couldn’t believe that Kia wound up making him look like some like an idiot as he was a serial womanizers and he thought he could get to Kia what a mistake. Daniel keeps trying to resist Kia and talks about the fertility clinic. Daniel goes with Kia to see her family and also help her take care of her nephew who was still a little baby she told him it will great to see how much work to handle a baby. Daniel saw how Kia was with the baby and saw what a great mother she would be so he asked her to stay on a few months after the birth. Daniel was called away for some work right after they slept together which he finally gave into. Kia calls Daniel and she tells him she will give the money he gave her to produce an heir. She told him that he should think twice about having a baby. Kia told him that it was great that he was preserving his art and such but a baby was not something you collect. Kia finds out news about her mother who she thought was dead. When Kia and Daniel finally fall into bed she was having second thoughts because of her mother but fate has a way of getting involved when you thought your life was on the right track.
Excellent Read and a new author for me to read.

I absolutely loved this first book by Ms Kenning. When another author recommends a new author you get the sense that it is going to be well worth the chance to rad it. This book was definitely worth the time. Daniel and Kia were such a captivating couple and the story was well written. I loved how Daniel (or Danny, as Kia insists on calling him) thought he had it all figured out when it came to finding someone to help him produce an heir. Little did he know Kia would change and challenge all the rules he laid out for her. Kia was willing to help him but only if he let her get to know him and also decide if he was father material. The problem was, could she go through with walking away from a child that was hers. The more time they spend together the more the attraction between them strengthen. It had Daniel questioning whether he wanted more from life than just an heir and all the beautiful things he has acquired while continuing to build his families foundation. kIa and Daniel find the pull to hard to ignore and start to fall in love. This was a wonderful story with a fabulous HEA!

Great book. I loved it.

Daniel lost his parents when he was young and had to take responsibility for the family business. Years later, it all, money and a collection of antiques he treasured. But he wanted something more. He wants to have a child and believes that, if he married, he would risk losing the baby if they divorced and the mother took the child away, so he decides to choose a woman to have a baby, with a professional relationship. Of all the candidates, he selects Kia. Her photo was the first thing that caught his attention. And when she insisted on knowing him, on wanting to know why he was doing it, on wanting to explain to him what it was to be a father, only managed to increase his interest in her.

Kia took care of her younger siblings when their mother abandoned them. She was only a child, but she gave herself to them. Now that they have grown up and have their own lives, she wants to go back to school. But she cannot do it without money. She finds Daniel's offer interesting. It will solve her life, that of her family, and she will be able to devote herself to her dream, teaching. Renouncing her baby was not a sacrifice for her. She didn't want to be a mother. But, by spending more time with Daniel, everything changed. She wanted him in her life, she wanted to have their child, to be together. It was an impossible dream. It didn't matter that he wanted the same thing. She couldn't be with him. Especially after discovering the truth about her past.

I loved Daniel and Kia. They both fall in love. They had signed a contract that no longer serves them. It was just a professional relationship, which became something else. First attraction and then, as they got to know each other, their feelings grew.

Daniel changes. All his possessions are worth nothing compared to Kia's love, with the family they could form.

Kia changes too. She thought she had her life planned out, but she wanted more.

I loved the secondary characters. Porter, years loving his wife. Faith, who is able to see what Kia feels, like her father. Margo, a good person who deserves to be happy. And Teddy, completely adorable.

Nice romance. I recommend it.

I received an ARC from the author, and this is my honest review.

Daniel Forge is a man who believes he is living the ultimate coveted life. He's only missing one thing, an heir to inherit all that he has amassed. But being who he is, its better to just leave it to medical science to make it happen wiithout him having to lose anything on his end.

Kira Collier is someone who has dreams that can't be achieve in the timeframe she wants, not with the right financial support. She's given the opportunity to be a surrogate but she's a nurturer at heart and wants to make sure her firstborn will be raised with a loving parent. She won't settle for less than that.

That defiance is what will start the dance of desire between the two. There's never anyone who has ever said no to him and she won't be the first. He'll just do what he does best and win her over. Only problem is, he was never ready for someone like Kira. Will she burn him alive or will they set a everlasting flame?

WOW the chemistry between the two is off the charts. Every second the two are together, sparks flies. Kira is a strong woman, able to hold her own against the most formidable man she's ever met. Daniel though, has layers of himself he isn't even aware of which makes me love him all the more when the light bulb is finally lite.

Daniel Forge vs Kia Collier

This is a very good book and I throughly enjoyed reading it. Daniel is a great character and was written with passion and strength in mind. The writing never fell flat with him and was constantly evolving. Loved his character so much. These two are perfect opposites. Love is supposed to improve you and make your life better when you sacrifice something for it. Daniel wanted a surrogate to have his child and pass his legacy on to. He met Kia and got more than he could handle. She was a handful. As they got to know each other and were friends with this strong attraction surging he realized that he wanted her real depths. Sex creates intimacy between them. Communication creates an intense closeness with these two. As you read this Kia will continue to be a sexy and stubborn woman until the end. Sometimes this was irritating 😠 but I still love the story. Read and enjoy and be mad at her a little but enjoy the passionate journey these two take.

This is a beautiful love story from Sophia and it is her debut novel! Daniel is a very successful wealthy man who only needs one more thing to make his life whole, a baby. After he finds the one picture out of many he has his assistant set up all the details, no relationship and a baby momma to get in the way. This business transaction is unusual and Kia sets all his rules into one crazy spiral. Kia helped raise her younger siblings and only needs the money to continue her education and plans to walk away from Daniel and the baby as stipulated in the contract. They have one special connection and have their ups and downs just like everyone does. It is beautiful to see how Daniel and Kia grow and come together! Kia is one special woman who teaches Daniel what it takes to love, care and raise a child along with allowing love into his heart. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Everything was fine with the book the couple was developing feeling for one another and there wasn't a whole lot of drama. The main thing that irked my nerves was the h(Kia) towards the end when she found out that her mom didn't "leave" them. The book said multiple time that her parents had her and her sibling late in live so that in my mind is late 40s or early 50s. So when it was revealed that her mother was sick and was forgetting who her husband and kids were. And that her father thought it was easier to tell Kia (who by the way was 5yrs old) that she else instead that your mother doesn't remember you. I felt it was a cop-out for Kia to use her mother's sickness as a reason to runaway for Danny and the baby (b/c she felt she too was going to forget him and their child like her mother did) REALLY COME ON YOUR LIKE 22 OR 23 YEARS OLD THIS IS NO WAY THE SAME SCENARIO IF IT DOES HAPPEN YOUR KIDS WILL BE GROWN

Daniel is a wealthy man that has everything he wants except an heir. So he has his assistant set up interviews for a surrogate to carry his baby. When he sees Kia's picture he knows that she's the one he wants. Kia is applying to be the surrogate so she can finish school and get out of debt. However she has some conditions before accepting the job. She wants to meet Daniel and get to know him before giving him a child. Daniel agrees even though its against his better judgement. The longer that they are together they closer the grow. Soon they are wanting more than the agreed arrangement. Can Daniel show Kia that they be more to each and she can still have her career?

This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This was a good story. Daniel is a billionaire who acquired priceless artifacts, but there is one thing missing. He is missing an heir to takeover the things he has acquired. Kia is in college and dreams of getting her PhD and becoming a history professor. To do that she needs money. Kia and Daniel both need something from one another. She promises to have his baby and leave after the birth and Daniel will give her money. When they both sign the contract, neither one counted on feelings coming into the equation. These two may be total opposites, but they are a perfect fit for each other. This will take you on a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but it is a fun ride. Daniel is all about control and having everything and everyone a certain way. Kia is strong-spirited and independent. She loves pushing Daniel’s buttons. This had such a great storyline that just flowed smoothly and the characters were wonderfully written.

Kia is a sassy, independent, strong willed woman. Daniel aka Danny is a strong determine, knows what he wants and goes after it man. Daniel has been running his family's business ever since his parents past away. He wants to leave all his fortune and valuables to his heir. But Daniel thinks that he can become a father with writing up a contract and having that as a sign done deal. Until he meets Kia and turns his life and world up side down. Kia is a feisty spit fire woman that thinks that she knows what she wants in life and is willing to do anything to achieve that goal but she wasn't expecting for her feelings to get in the way. This is my very first book by Sophia Kenning and I can't wait to read more books by this Author. I enjoyed reading this book. I loved the storyline and plot. This was a really good story. Daniel was VERY rich and wanted an heir, but didn't want a relationship. He decided to hire out having a baby. Kia was his choice but from the beginning, she called him on his crap and attitude. He was fascinated with her but fought it trying to keep the relationship business only. I loved how Kia finally got through to Daniel in being more down to earth and treating people better. He, in turn, was enthralled with seeing Kia with her nephew and really started to see how much he didn't know about being a father. There were several surprising turns in this book that made it more fun. I didn't know this author, but will certainly look for more of her books.

This is a quick read and this book provides a refreshing change of pace compared to other romance novels. There is no dangerous action and adventure, no high drama nor any mysterious psycho-thriller killers. This is just a good old fashion get to know you romance. Although Kia and Danny met under unusual circumstances, their attraction to each other bloomed into a friendship that turned into love. The story chronicles the realistic feelings and emotions along with the ups and downs of their burgeoning relationship. I loved reading it and I do recommend it. Superbly written, sweet, and heartwarming! The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, well-written, quite enjoyable, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with excitement, ups and downs, some family drama, and a mix of emotions on every page. The chemistry between Daniel and Kia is powerful and intense. The sex scenes are so beautifully written and described I could actually feel the intense love the characters have for each other pouring out of the pages. Definitely recommended!

Oh wow, what a fantastic first debut book from this author. Couldn’t put it down.
Daniel Forge is a wealthy man, protecting his heritage and also passionate and caring which he hides away but one thing is missing...an heir otherwise what’s it all for. He needs the right woman to help him and he chooses Kia Collier. Now the fun begins. Kia needs the money to further her career but little does she realise how her life is going to change. She is is fun and feisty and so opposite to Daniel who seems stuffy and won’t open up. Things are about to change. Their journey together is fun, sad, sexy, romantic and so much more.

unbreakable

Expecting His Baby by author Sophia Kenning. Just a bit bitter with angst and some heartache- yet there’s so much sweetness and unconquerable joy!! Expecting His Baby is a journey into one’s fears, heartbreaks, and longings. Its walls - meant to protect. It’s about overcoming all of that to reach the point where nothing else matters but belonging.
With all that said and done- there’s more it’s hot as hell and the deliciousness that leaps off the pages is - well let’s just say have spare batteries!!
Enjoy!!

I loved Kia and Daniel together, and was enamored with the development of their relationship.

The story was sweet, funny, romantic and steamy.

Kia had just the right amount of sass, whilst Daniel's initial alpha personality, which evolves into fierce love and protection instincts, was a real draw card.

I was a little disappointed in Richard;s character, and the development of the sotry toward the end just took a little of the shine for me.

Overall, not a bad read and a great first novel by this author.

Great first book by Sophia Kenning. Billionaire Daniel Forge has wanted for nothing his entire life. His business of collecting precious art and treasures is his only love in life. He loves to possess things. As he has grown older though he realizes he has no one to leave his collection to and carry on his life’s work. His solution is to buy 9months of a woman’s life to carry his heir.
Kia Collier is a graduate student who has taken care of her family her entire life. She is finally doing something for herself with graduate school. But school is expensive. She answers Daniel’s ad for a surrogate. This book is full of unexpected twist and turns for these two.

This is a debut novel from this author, and my word, she is one to watch out for in the future. Daniel is a wealthy businessman, who had everything his heart desires, except for an heir, so he decides to hire a surrogate. Kia is drowning in student loans, and desperately needs money to pay for the rest of her education, so she agrees to be the surrogate. No spoilers; this story deserves to be read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written story, which had me totally intrigued and hooked from the very beginning, and I look forward to reading more of this authors’ work in the future.

Good story

A very enjoyable read with a nice twist. A very heartwarming story of how two people come together for a specific purpose, surrogacy and how their ideas change. Very well written and two colourful main characters. Loved them both and the way their love blossomed. I like a book when it completes my reading experience by not cutting off when you think they have found each other. This had a good ending throwing in a couple of curve balls and a lovely epilogue. Well done this author for a very satisfying and lovely story. Lots of excellent sexy scenes doesn’t do it any harm either!! Will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author.

I'm new to this author, but when a author I know and love offered a chance to receive a ARC of this book I jumped at the chance.
I'm so glad I did, I really loved this book. It was well written with a fantastic storyline and great characters. Loved Kia and the way she exploded into Daniels live. I found the book a lovely heart warming, feel good, emotional at times book, which is sometimes just what I need. I love to immerse myself into the world of a book and it's characters, and I found I could do that with this book.

Ohmigod—what a great read! It started out a bit slow for me; however, after a the first few chapters, I was hooked. Even the storyline was totally predictable, it did a good job of keeping your attention. Some of the characters were a little weak, but the well developed characters kept the story going. The book is long (44 chapters)...but well worth the time. You definitely want to add this one to your TBR list! Expecting his Baby by Sophia Kenning a five-star read that you will welcome. This was a great debut novel, I can’t wait to read more from the author as they are going to grow into a favourite of mine. I enjoyed getting to know Daniel and Kia getting to know their ways and nicknames of each other, them I totally got and found they had a great story and the resistance they felt had a real edge to it. The were parts that jumped a little and felt too rushed but overall it was well written and had a very good hot story.

This story does so not bare with it that it is the author´s first story, jet she says so in the end of the story, so that I must believe. We have a story here that is just quite wholesome in that sense that it is a true romance and no villain. So there is a good story line, the characters are well written and thought out, the settings and the +18 scenes are all well thought out so there is nothing more to say than job well done and I can really recommend this story.

Great Read!!

Kia is hired to be a surrogate to a billionaire's baby. The deal is she will live with him throughout the pregnancy and then walk away. But after business becomes pleasure, will she be able to? Daniel is the stuffy billionaire who needs an heir and the best way to get one is a no strings business arrangement. But Can Danny let her go once he knows it's no longer just business? This was a great read and I look forward to reading more from this author.

A really good introduction to a promising author. Daniel and Kia were well developed characters, the pacing was on point but I agree with the reviewer who commented about what turn the book took at and around the 80% mark. Remember the majority of your readers are women. I also hope that a good editor handled the final draft of this book because I found myself having to go back sometimes to figure out who was talking.

I got a late start on reading this but once I got started I didn't want to put it down.
This story takes an arrogant, domineering millionaire who is used to getting his own way who gets paired with a down-to-earth good girl. She frustrates but intrigues. She brings him to see what he is missing in his cold, glass castle. She brings warmth and caring into what was supposed to be a process. Great read! Not a spoiler here.
