Maybe there’s not much value to this for someone who is not a fan of The Coral but then again, I don’t know how you’d come across this let alone want to read it if you weren’t!
As it happens, I’m a big fan of the band and absolutely loved it. The diary entries are short & sweet and absolutely rammed with lots of little details & memories that any music fan would love to know about one of their favourite bands and their life on the road.
This book is mainly direct and free of any nonsense but Nick Power is a poet, and it shows with a few charming interludes. My favourite little section of the whole thing has to be right at the end - ‘The Long & Winding Road’ which is beautifully written.
