I enjoyed this book despite the fact that I wanted to slap the 'heroine' silly through 9/10 of the book. I understand that her nanny filled her head with terror of the mages...but once she was grown, could she not have thoughts of her own?

Did that irritate me? Yes. Will it stop me from getting the other two books in this series? No. I just enjoy Ms. Leigh's writing too much...even through childish heroines.

Brianna is the youngest princess of Covenani. And she has no intention of being "the filling in a Wizard sandwich". But the Veraga wizard twins weren't about to let their goddess-given mate ignore their bond.

If explicit sex and menage relationships offend you, please don't get this book. As for me...another one for my keeper shelf!

The world building gets a lot of attention in this story, and as I understand it, there are two sects of magick weilders...the Cauldaran Wizard Twins and the Covenani Sorceresses. Long time ago, they tripled up - two twins to each sorceress and this enhanced their powers quite a lot. Something (we never do find out what) caused them to go their separate ways and now the Covenani powers are weakening (but for some unexplained reason the wizard powers are not) and they need to go back to bonded joinings with the wizard twins in order to shore up their magic against the evil sect of Seculars...again not much explanation about who they really are, other than human and well outmatched...just that they're the villains. Some big wig decides that Princess Brianna is the "true consort" of the twins Drago and Lasan, except she wants absolutely nothing to do with them. But the decision is mostly out of their hands now, since Brianna's powers are about to peak and the joining must happen just as they do, or it won't happen at all.

Aside from the fact that I have a lot of questions about why for this stuff, this kinda was pretty well set up. It's definitely an interesting concept, even if it is clearly window dressing for a menage porn plot. Doesn't make it any less good. But that's where my enjoyment mostly ends...because I didn't care for the twins, nor did I care for the lack of romance here. Lasan and Drago accept the fact that they'll probably have to force their little dumpling, since she avoids them and keeps refusing. Obviously though, her refusal is not enough, because is they accept her refusal, then they lose out on a fuck load of power and some really hot sex, so that just won't do. Time and time again, they take choice away from Brianna...and her mother isn't much better. Sure she hates doing it, but she's the ultimate politician and knows what needs to be done to secure the future of her people. Lasan and Drago aren't cruel about it and they make an attempt at being patient, but ultimately they make light of Brianna's fears, exacerbate them in some cases and in one case laugh off her very justifiable anger at being manipulated and forced into a joining and smile smugly because they "know" it's just because of how much she wants them. And physically she very much does, because her peaking power makes her want them. And of course she ends up peaking and in her desperate need for release throws away all fears and concerns at being forced has a romping good, cherry-popping, threesome with her mates and promptly forgets all her concerns and reservations about the union. And all this without even one word of love ever having been spoken. To Lasan and Dragon, it doesn't have to be Brianna...could have been anyone. It's not her they want, it's their true consort. And she doesn't even frickin know them - she's at the mercy of her hormones. So, this isn't even really romance, because nobody loves anybody in this story.

On the brightside, at least these twins in this story seemed to have different personalities and felt like two different characters, unlike the third story, Twin Passions.

I disliked this so much, I mostly finished it just to see if it got better. Reader, it did not. Brianna was terrified through so much of the book, and it read as though she was terrified of sex in general, not just about the "wizard sandwich" (let's just pretend that phrase isn't hysterically silly for a sec) thing. For me, that gave the whole story a squicky consent slippery slope feel. I also found it frustrating that the women never talked about sex, when it was so clear that Brianna was scared by it. Like, we're told over and over that these women love each other and are a family who want to protect one another, but none of them are willing to talk about sex at all with their sister who's scared out of her mind? Maybe let her know that losing your virginity isn't going to TEAR YOU IN HALF AND KILL YOU? And if you don't want to have that conversation then maybe don't force her to marry a pair of wizard twins or whatever? OR third option: the narrative could stop pretending they're a caring family who love each other and just admit that the plot makes no sense unless they secretly hate Brianna and want her to be miserable.

Honestly, everything about this plot was frustrating (even a sassy dragon couldn't save it). 0/10 do not recommend.

This was a decently enough written romantica fantasy (cliches and all) but for $8+ it should have been way longer than 141 pages!

For some reason it rests upon Brianna, the youngest of the three Princessess of Covenanti, to repair the rift between the Covenanani Sorceresses and their natural mates the Cauldaran Wizards. Her mother, the Queen, has surprisingly agreed to the alliance between Brianna and the two (yeah, you read that right) wizards Lasan & Drago. Apparently, they're twins and in this world two parts of a whole and are inseparable. Brianna, though attracted to the twins, is scared out of her silly little mind because her evil, maniacally cackling nurse tells her frightening tales of the twins. Being a naive and not-so-bright pretty young thing Brianna believes every word though everything she's seen and experienced of the twins tells her differently. She fights the union, acts like a snotty brat and eventually submits to be the filling in the "Wizard Sandwich" (as the books back cover so tactfully puts it!)

I appreciated the fantasy angle but I wasn't able to warm up to the characters, especially Brianna. She's really stubborn and can't take the risk. The author really built the sexual tension, it was all around the story but the follow through just wasn't there. Compared with the other Lora Leigh books I've read, this has fewer sex scenes because the author concentrated in building a world of wizards, Covenani, Cauldaran, and other terms in that world. I liked how she created a different world where the Consort is shared by wizard twins. I also like the story involving a dragon, magic, and other mythical creatures. Since I read this because I was looking for a quick read, it's just OK, but not that entertaining. Sometimes I wanted to yell "Can't we just get on with it?" because the pace slows down a little. I didn't like the part where the brothers weren't able to protect Brianna right away, that it had to be Garron the dragon instructor who did that. So if you're looking for a quick read that's highly entertaining, this is not it.

This story was not bad for being short and the first in a series. I have always liked LL's writing style. This one was no exception. I did get a little annoyed with Brianna's stubbornness and some TSTL moments, but overall it was a good story.

It has to be perfectly acceptable to want to punch the main character im the throat right?

I know this book came out in the early 2000s, this book has been on my shelf for years and now I know why. Its pretty horrid. The main character is more likened to a two year old having a tantrum because shes scared over her own shadow. The spice is meh, the story line is okay but over all its just: well thats that. thanks.

I gave this 4 stars mainly because I love this author, I will read anything she writes, she is just that good. I am not into fantasy and other world books, mainly shifters and vamps. One thing I appreciate about this author's writings is that she does not just throw in sex scenes unless it is important to the story line. Great story and fast paced, easily read in a day.

How this wound up on my shelves I do not know, but since it was there I had to read it, right? I actually read this aloud to my husband and it was.. interesting. I’d only ever done a read-aloud once before (outside of some partial excerpts of scenes I thought he needed to hear) with a story called Back River Quiver and well, IYKYK.

This is the first book in the Wizard Twins series. One thing that Ms. Leigh does well is world building. She never lets the world building dominate the story. She gives you enough information to help you understand the environment that the characters are living in and the rules that make the reality operate for those characters. She also builds your curiosity but other characters and their stories as she tells the each individual story. So here in the first book is the story of Brianna Sellane and the Wizard Twins Lasan and Drago Veraga. Brianna is a youngest daughter of the Queen of the Covenani. All her life she has heard the stories of pain and humiliation for those of her race at the hands of the Wizard Twins. When she is told she is to be a Consort of the Kings of Cauldaran she fight the Joining with her every breath. Her fear almost gets her raped and killed. For deceit and betrayal run rampant in both courts. The betrayers must be found and destroyed and the balance of power must be restore. The Sorceresses of the Covenani must reunite with the Wizard Twins of Cauldaran to save their world from destruction by the forces of evil. The Seculars, humans, has grown of the thousand years the the groups have warred and hated each other.

I love that Lasan and Drago balance each other out. Drago is mostly dominant and a little over powering. Lasan appears to be more patient and easy going. As always outward appearances are not always as the seem. So it is with these two. These two are definitely rulers of their kingdom and warriors ready to defend those they love and that are under their care. They don' hesitate to kill those that betray Brianna. Brianna is more than a little spoiled. She is also eaten up with fear. She is stubborn to a fault and has a temper to rival most. When she finally stops resisting the brothers she finds that all her fears were unfounded and that there is ecstasy and happiness in the arms of the Wizard Twins.

This is a really quick read and there is quite a bit of information packed into the story. Lora Leigh is also one of the best author for writing wickedly hot sex scenes. These three when they finally join burn up the pages. There is also quite a bit of sexual tension that builds up in the first part of the story which is not a bad thing. I look forward to future books in this series.

Brianna has been chosen by the Gods to be Consort to the Wizard Twins. When they join, their combined magic will strengthen the world that is slowly dying.
The only problem is that Briannas old nursemaid has filled her head with terrifying pictures how she will be ripped apart when the Wizard Twins join with her. She is terrified.

When Lasan, one of the twins, makes her angry she slaps him and by that she is braking an old law. She is almost forced to accept the joining with the twins. But the day before the joining her magic is rising and the Twins can´t wait any longer. The have to join at the peek of Briannas magic.

I thought the story was a bit whimsical. I didn´t get any real feeling for the characters. Especially the Twins Lasan and Drago escaped me. Almost everything is written out of Briannas eyes. I think the problem with writing a short fantasy story is that you don´t have time to develop the worlds and, as in this case, the characters.

But there is a story behind all attraction and it makes me want to read part two.

Stumbled into this at Ellora's Cave while trying to track down the earliest Breeds novels by Lora Leigh. And...oy. You can definitely tell this is a very early Leigh series. The fantasy world and premise that the Covenani Sorceresses of planet Sentmar do not gain their full powers to protect their land until they join with a pair of Cauldaran Wizards (but this pairing has not happened in many years) is but a thin plot device for unrealistic erotica. A little like the written equivalent of a porno - you don't go to them for the story.

I will admit that if you suspend your disbelief sufficiently , then there are hot moments. But the characters are cardboard cutouts and the main character is realistic and annoying. And this entire review holds for the second book as well (though I think it was marginally better).

There's a foot-stamping princess who is coming into her powers, two studly, telpathic and magical twins, and a Cosmic Destiny to be fulfilled. And a sarcastic dragon who seems to have his own agenda. They must reunite her people [female sorceresses:] and their people [male wizards:] who haven't been together in a thousand years to recharge the magic balance of the lands. They're all for it, she's terrified after all the horror stories she's been told by her nurse.

The book is very short - 139 pages - and doesn't leave Lora Leigh room to do her usual in-depth job. A nice read though. And I love it that the wizards are always twinned - maybe there was a woman on the design team!

Ok, this book was ehhh ok. It wasn't really that great, it was super short too. I liked the idea of it, and I am kind of disappointed with this one since I read the Breeds (a few of them) series first. I have come to expect a cool plot, and some good scenes in them.

Brianna is annoying as all hell. The whole worlds, and witches and wizards are not completely developed. I have no idea how their society works, isn't this a different planet? How are there humans? It felt more like a short story vs a novel. I was disappointed, I did like it, but I suspect the next one with Brianna's sister is going to be pretty much the same with her running from her twin set. Good concept, but just didn't follow through with the plot.

I love Lora Leigh's books and have recently been able to get the 3 books of the fantasy Wizard series. I read 'Ménage a Magick' last night and enjoyed the fantasy world that Brianna, Lasan and Drago live in. Lasan and Drago go through their typical male periods and Brianna listens too much to her old nanny, but in the end love triumphs! Just enough bad guys and misinformation threaded through this quick read to keep you up past 'lights out.' I have to say, though, that Garron was my favorite character of all, which says something about me, I guess, since he's a dragon! Looking forward to 'When Wizards Rule,' which I get to start tonight. (I'm so excited!)

OMG!!! This book is not worth the high price tag! See description above. Brianna is very immature and hard headed. Both of the Cauldaran Wizards and the Dragon tell Brianna over and over again that know harm will come to her by becoming the wizards consort but she thinks they are all lying to her. The book is short but it reads long. I wanted to slap Brianna and yell at Lori to just get on with it. The wizards protect Brianna at every step and need to be given a medal for not shaking her to death. I have read tons of books but never write a review because who has the time for that. That being said I feel so strongly against this book that I took the time.

I don't usually go for fantasy worlds but if any author could get me to embrace them, Lora Leigh could. Menage a Magick is a bit of a romp compared to her other stories, but with her usual attention to detail.

There is not a lot of graphically described sex. The story is mostly about the twin wizards trying to get the sorceress they have been told is their mate.

It won't end up on my keeper shelf, but is a quick read and worth seeking out.

2 1/2 stars is what I want to give this. I did not like it but I didn't hate it either. It did take me 3 sitting to read it and I fell asleep during one of them. To me it was boring even the "erotic" parts were boring with a poorly developed story line and characters. I think I expected a lot more from this author.

I don't like the heroine in this book. She is snobbish and prejudiced against the brothers. I feel the frustration of Drago and Lasan regarding her words and actions. There are only few hot scenes that keeps me hanging and still waited for more. I'm more interested with the older sisters story than this one. Anyway, the concept is nice, but I keep keeping guessing on what title is this and that.

I love Ms. Leigh's story building and this book is no exception to that. While I liked the story itself and the potential it had to open up a new world in fantasy, there wasn't a huge amount of depth to any of the characters. I doubt that will stop me from reading further in this series, however, as I greatly enjoy Ms. Leigh's writing.

This was OK. Lots of tension and build up to the menage.

I would have liked to see more of the back history between the Covenani Sorceresses and the Cauldaran Wizards, and a bit more of the Secular. But, instead we get more foot stomping tantrums from a spoiled princess who is too stupid to realize how yummy it would be to be in a Wizard Sandwich.

I am a big Lora Leigh fan, and was excited about this "menage a tois". I wanted to give it a four stars, but it can only be a three. The characters are a bit shallow and the bonds/ties between the characters seem not natural. But I liked how it was a quick read.

I liked the idea of the book. What they are trying to accomplish. Brianna did get on my nerves. The twins patience is to be commended. But I just can't wrap my head around the use of the word c*** so much.
