As a man who is a hopeless romantic, your support is my inspiration. I'm excited to have you read my books so we can go on the hottest romance adventure together! ;)
I get this is just a true chicklet book with a taste of the corny and unrealistic but come on! A random stranger has you take them to your home continues on with the charade instead of coming clean like right away (the author could’ve still spun it to make it work instead of making this female character a kook). The female is just in la la land hanging out and deceiving this guy and family, taking showers and eating breakfast with complete strangers? I don’t care how shitty this chick’s homelife is. It’s really unrealistic. I get maybe the author tried to do a different approach but this when you look at it is super creepy. And the girl seems super mentally unbalanced... so she goes home with this random guy and oh wait?! They fall in love then she over reacts and maces the guy..... super extreme like really super extreme he didn’t even come after in a threatening matter just wanted to talk? I can’t even say this was a nice attempt at writing. I can’t get over the weirdness of Sasha. What a disappointing read.
My Fake Fiance definitely read like a movie from Lifetime or Hallmark. Maybe a combined kind of movie effort. It was laughable with how things went throughout this book. Miles and Sasha were adorable at times but other than that, I was a bit bored with this book. Again, it was cute and shit.. and I was happy that I flew through this whole thing too.
Their chemistry/romance, felt a bit insta-ish and they definitely had their ups and downs. Whether it was the unplanned baby.. to shoving mace into his face. Then there's the whole family dynamics which kind of threw me for a loop. Sasha's family was such a hot mess. Her sister and mother annoyed and frustrated me. I don't really care that they changed their colors towards the end of the book, it was too little too late in my eyes.
I did, however, love Miles family. They were my kind of people.
Overall, it was an okay book and I'm glad it's over.
This was such an amazing read. It's very sweet and fun. All of the characters seem to have a great personality and even the ones who didn't you couldn't help but fall in love with them. This really was an instant love book but it came together great. The chemistry Miles and Sasha shared was off the chart and they cracked me up with their flirty humorous banter! Definitely recommend reading this!
1. Unplanned pregnancies as a romantic plot point. Did somewhere along the way unplanned pregnancies become sexy? Because it sure seems like it happens a lot in romance novels and it's a trope I'm 100% not here for.
2. Billionaires. I'm over billionaires who swoop in and save women. Where are my lady billionaires who save themselves?
3. Giant penises. A friend, when discussing this book with me, noted, "bad men have small penises, that's how you can tell they're bad." Can men in romance books have average sized penises that aren't painful to adjust to? Apparently not.
Anyway, this book was full of these terrible tropes and it was annoying. The writing was fine, but the story was meh.
I got a little bored with the repetitive inner and outer dialogues and started to skim... This book could probably have 1/3 cut out and tell the same story.
The ingredients were there but they were poorly explored, the interesting characters were there, but they too were poorly explored...

This is another very cute and Sexy Adult romantic💘 comedy by male author, R. R. Banks! I love the silly and implausible plot to the book. It's a total mental getaway for this reader📕! I think you'll enjoy the book, too. Recommend!
What a cute story that will have you laughing and crying. Miles and Sasha are so great together with incredible passion and chemistry. It all began with her conning him for a ride, then a fake boyfriend and then fake fiance. They were from opposites world's yet they seemed to make each other complete. They brought out the best in each other. Well written with strong, complex characters and a heartwarming story with an HEA. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Another hit from R.R. Banks,,,,, a great story,,,, !!!
Miles Churchill is a lawyer and co-partner with Nick Beck both graduated Stanford Law and they have been taking down big corporations who screw over people, he comes from a family with money,,,, big time money,,,, he lives in Los Angeles, California, originally from the state of Washington,,, his family ownes a large tech company in California called Churchill Technologies,,,, He has 2 brothers, Neal and Christopher,,, Christopher calls Miles one day and wants him to go to Sea-Tac and pick up Christopher's fiancé Alice because he is still in London on business,,, Thanksgiving is at the the Churchill's mansion this year, their mother, Marta is expecting the whole family,,,, and so Miles picks up the woman he thinks is Alice Donnelly at the airport,,,,
Sasha Gates works as a waitress @ Tuckey's Sports Bar and Jerome is a bartender, Sasha is also a novice writer, if she's not sleeping or working, she's writing,,,, she's been called from her mother, Kathy that she and her sister Sheila are expecting her for Thanksgiving,,, she lives with her best friend Rosie in California,,, so, she goes home, but when her person wasn't there to pick her up from the airport, she was going to take a taxi home at great expense ,,, but then she finds this handsome man holding a sign with nobody basically coming anymore at night ,,, so, she decides to be Alice Donnelly and see where that goes for awhile,,,, this should be fun,,,, !!!
So, yeah,,,, I so would not ever feel comfortable enough to try this for any amount of time,,,, but she wasn't having any thoughts of that when she took the ride,,, my stomach would've been in knots,,, but this was a great read with some great steam between these two,,,, I would so totally recommend this book to anyone,,,, !!!
I got this ARC voluntarily to leave an honest review,,,,,
Sometimes I like to thank Authors for their work. This is 100% that time. Mr. Banks is so frigging awesome and he completely enthralled me AGAIN with My Fake Fiance. Oh my... I've truly always thought the World of him (and have for years) but his latest release gives you such a realistic set of characters with combustible chemistry and it is definitely an emotionally charged book that revolves around Sasha and Miles. Sasha began her entrance into Miles' life by pure deceit and personal interest, however, she's far from being a selfish person. Miles, a Lawyer, already suspects something is 'off' about their newest houseguest, however, he certainly wouldn't mind having this strong-willed, gorgeous and yet unique woman, around while he figures it out. I have no idea how R.R.'s mind crafted such a wonderfully written storyline but I will always be grateful for reading his work; both now as well as from years ago. Trust that I been a bit of a fan girl and have been following his publications ever since.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of My Fake Fiance in exchange for my honest/voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend this book as well as anything written by Mr. R.R. Banks.
The writing was a little stilted. I didn't get absorbed into the story like I normally do. Additionally the blow up that inevitably occurs in these books was way overblown. The girl overhears one sentence that she doesn't agree with and then completely leaves the state to go back to a family that she dreads spending time with. She also maces the guy that she's falling in love with. It just seems way over the top and I don't care what hormones she is dealing with, at that particular point she officially crossed into b**** territory. For me the redeeming factor was that I enjoyed the characters and the development of the characters. Otherwise I literally was just skimming pages to see what was happening next. Once the forgiving part happened I basically closed the book. I want to like it more but it does feel like a newish writer's work. Although I haven't bothered to look up the writer and I have no idea if that's true. I also acknowledge it's so much easier to critique a book than it is to actually write one.
Who would have thought getting conned could feel so good? Certainly not Miles, the cocky, happily single and on top of his game Civil Law Attorney with aspirations of running for office. When he picks up his brother's girlfriend at the airport, he knows there is something different about the women. What he finds out intrigues him, needing to know more about the mysterious women who had quickly enamored the whole family. Leads to a Holiday of passionate ups and downs, no one will forget. Emotional wreckage galore, mixed with witty banter, frustration, and HEAT! Miles and Sasha are an insta all combustible pair!! Fast and furious the sparks flew as well as the drama! I loved all the witty, relatable characters, except for Sasha she is not my favorite female protagonist from Mr. Banks... I think she was trigger happy ( so to speak ) and immature. My Fake Fiancé was a sweet n sexy romance with a Holiday twist! 4.5 Stars
I'll admit, I love a cheesy romance to read when I'm in bed. But this one... Oh Lord. This one started out good, the first few chapters were great... and then the characters met. What happened was so unrealistic and the way Miles reacted was just wonky. After the truth comes out its like the characters Benjamin-Buttoned and were no longer in their late 20s early 30s. I could have sworn I was reading some YA book.
I pretty much got bored of the absurdity at about 50% and skimmed the rest. I do have to say I hate, HATE the whole pregnancy thing in romances. It feels like it's used as glue to keep characters together or in a vain attempt to ad drama that isn't needed.
One final note. It needed a developmental editor as well as a another round of eating because there were so many errors just in the 50% I read. I'm pretty lax when it comes to stuff like that and can ignore it for the most part but when there are that many it gets on my nerves.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I would have rated this 4 stars except I seem to have bought a copy missing a chapter. I was told nobody else had this experience, but I am still deducting a bit for that because I cant be an honest reviewer if I leave my full experience out. To be fair, I was offered another copy by someone affiliated with the publisher, but I turned it down because I still have my ARC copy and nearly all of the copy I bought. Just for full disclosure. I read the chapter in the ARC copy, so I can leave a review of the full story.
I honestly had a little trouble connecting with the characters for the first few chapters, but then everything sort of fell into place and BOOM, I started rooting for them. The characters ended up being interesting and the story very sweet with a few twists tossed in. I'd probably reread this book, because after the first few chapters the story really did pick up and pull me in. Had my purchased copy had all the chapters this would have been a solid 4 star read.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Another great one by R.R. Banks. I totally freaking LOVED this story! Miles Churchill + Sasha Gates = perfection!! Miles is a very successful lawyer in LA, disgustingly wealthy, handsome, sexy as hell, temperamental, and the city’s most eligible bachelor. Sasha is an aspiring novelist who works in a bar and library part-time. This was an amazing and beautiful love story that was so well done; it held my attention and was entertaining, but also was heartwarming and emotional. This book is an engaging story with lots of passion that will keep you captivated and glued to the pages of this fascinating storyline with well developed characters. There several twists and turns within the storyline that will pique your interest—you will not be disappointed. This is a definite MUST READ!!
Sasha is an aspiring writer but she works in a bar while she writes. When she has to go home for the holidays she dreads it. So when she got off the plane and saw Miles holding a sign she took a chance to get away from her family and pretended to be someone else. Miles is having some issues keeping his hands off his brother's girl that it is until he found out that she wasn't "Alice". Sasha knows that she has to leave so she is stunned when Miles catches her and confronts her. He drives her to her family's place and things heat up between them. However when she needs a fake fiancé will Miles help her after what she did?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
As with other books by this author, the basic story line draws me in and I finish to find out the end of the story. There was less needless explanations compared to other books by the author that over explained. The pepper spray was much, at least you mentioned that someone could go to jail for that. Spraying someone with pepper spray is assault if you are not trying to ward off an attack. You explained the burning pain well, but to keep saying she was mad and wanted him to hurt does not justify this. I was extremely upset that an author would use that because someone was mistakenly upset. If a guy did that to a women there would be outrage not laughs and if my son told me is girlfriend pepper sprayed him because of a misunderstanding, I would not laugh.
I felt upset about what Sasha went through that caused her to be the cynical, untrusting and has a doomed mentality. As hard working as she is, she barely makes ends meet. She has a driving desire to become a successful writer. Sasha was so afraid of rejection she isolated herself so she would never be hurt. But then she met Miles and her world turned upside down. Miles comes from a privileged background and has never known want. He also has a very loving family that respects each other. He is a driven civil attorney who fights for the working man against injustices by large corporations. How Miles and Sasha meet is beyond unusual. But in the end, it works for them. I did enjoy reading this book. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When I first came across this book by R.R. Banks I thought, "Another fake relationship book???" Really? It seems every other book out there is about some fake something or other. How many can we read? BUT...I rarely read a book by Mr. Banks that I don't love so I gave it a go. Boy Howdy am I glad I did. This isn't your typical fake finance book by any means. It is quite good and I can honestly say that Sasha is my hero with her big set of brass cajones! This story kept me turning the pages one after the other until there were no more to turn. And I hated to see it end, but is has a nice ending. Another great story, Mr. Banks and I'm sorry for my initial doubt!
This book had a fun plot and solid writing. There were some funny parts and good sex scenes. The characters were believable. So, overall I enjoyed reading it. The editing caused me some heartburn. I knocked off one star for that alone. The other missing star was because the story was good, but I felt it could have been better. I’ve read some authors who are very gifted and this writer feels a little raw yet. I’d like some more funny parts or some more witty conversations between characters. Less time inside the characters heads. Overall good book. Happy reading y’all!!
It was a great romance. But, as usual, that is never enough for today’s writer’s. We can’t have a pleasant, relaxing romance. That won’t do. There has to be ‘angst’. Lots and lots of angst. Chapter, after tiring chapter, of nothing but angst. How I would love a light hearted, fun, angst-free romance just once in a while. No Scooby Doo Mystery, no angst. A good romance would be good enough for me. I wish it were enough for ‘romance’ writers. This would have been a marvelous romance, boiled down to just the romance. As is, 3 stars - average. It’s just average.
I received an ARC for my honest review, and honestly after the read and all that entails in missing pages, the book in itself was such a letdown,it pains me to even write about my 1st,3 star review for this OH,so amazing author. I was offered a copy from the people connected to the author, but since I've already purchased my own,I keep it. Honestly,I had a very hard time with the characters and it's as the book was written by two different authors, the R.R I've supported from day 1 ,would have never released this book. I hope this was only a small set back, this author has what it takes to continue to succeed.
I enjoyed the first part of the book until Miles dropped Sasha off at her Mother's home. After that another author stopped in and wrote. I heard the same excuses over and over. In fact the same excuse said four different ways in two pages. Then when Miles was talking to his brother... .I had to slap myself to stay awake. What happened?
Then poof! The third part of the book started and Miles and Sasha came back. Thank goodness.
Honestly I liked the story line, but Sasha was very unlikable and I normally enjoy an unlikable character. But she was the worst. She treated Miles so terribly. Every few pages or chapters she is thinking negatively of him or misjudging him and it all boils down to the fact that he’s rich not anything he personally does to her. He is nice and treats her right and fair and she still just seems to think he’s just this horrible person when she was, and I found my self not understanding how in the world he could like her with just how rude she was. She ruined this story for me.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book All it took was a sign and Sasha’s life is about to change forever. Needing a lift from the airport, Sasha pretends to be the person on the name card and now the fun begins. Lawyer Miles is very trusting but something doesn’t seem right. She is supposed to be his brothers girlfriend but doesn’t seem the usual type he goes for. Problem with deception, it can’t end well but lots of twists and turns to this story which is great. Loved how Miles and Sasha got on and the banter. A story you will enjoy, I did.
RR never fails to bring you a sexy love story with lots of OMG parts and Aha moments. Miles and Sasha game of cat and mouse had me curious to see how or if they could over come all the hurdles in their way seeing how they were from opposite ends of the spectrum. Miles and Sasha story had my heart tied in knots sometimes and melting at other times, but never doubting with some hard work they could pull through and be together forever.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. What a great book. Sasha and Miles were amazing together. Their story is emotional, steamy, sexy, deliciously hot and so much passion. These two met by happenstance when she pretends to be someone she’s not. Their chemistry is off the charts. I was sucked in right from the start and couldn’t put it down. No spoilers from me, this is a must read and I highly recommend it.
At first I was into the story. A little unbelievable, given that Sasha had an unrealistic expectation about what would happen if the real Alice showed up. But, I thought ”Ok, this could be entertaining.” And it was. But then Sasha turned into an over the top loony! So unreasonable, that it was too hard to like her. But, there’s a happy ending that brings it all around. So, I ended up giving it 4 stars.
I voluntarily reviewed "MY FAKE FIANCE" and just like all R.R. Bank's other books, he doesn't disappoint. I loved the characters! Mike Churchill is a very sexy bachelor and is very serious about his goals in life but then he meets Sasha. Sasha pretends to be Mike's brother's girlfriend, giving herself a small vacation from her own life, but then Mike discovers who she really is and the action doesn't stop until they have a happily ever after.
