Favorite Quotes:

Call me a fool in love. But don’t make me look like one.

I’m feeling very manly right now… I’m ready to sprout some more chest hair, wrestle a gator, and maybe chop some wood, pausing only to flex as you look on adoringly.

Have I mentioned Landon has an ass Adonis would kill Zeus to spank?

We say grace like good Christians and start talking like bad ones the minute we begin to pass the food.

What I feel, I’m always going feel for you. It’s eternal, like this ocean, something that’s always going to be... You’re my world, Luci, my ocean, and the eternity that I’ve waited for.

My Review:

Oh swoon, I quickly fell in love with this adorable couple and have discovered a new favorite author to stalk. This was my first experience reading the delightful work of Cecy Robson and am as giddy as a schoolgirl to report that I have stumbled upon treasure - and have since marked the loot with a big X on my Goodreads map. And no mistake, I do want it all as Ms. Robson has mad skills and obvious magic in her words. She has woven a bewitching spell with her engaging heart-squeezing story and sweet and lovable characters. The storyline was relevant, full of feels, and put a hot rock in my throat and even stung my eyes a few times. But more often than not, had me smirking from her clever humor, amusing banter, and gasp-worthy steam. This luscious couple was vibrantly appealing and magnetic and had more sparkle than a glitter bomb. The writing had excellent flow and was dynamic, amusing, easy to follow, held my rapt attention, and was unfailingly entertaining. The accidental meet the parent scene was especially lively and humorous. I’ve never been to South Carolina, but would gladly pack up and move for a Landon of my own.

Both Luci and Landon were dragged to a New year’s Party by their friends who decided they needed to get out. Their hopes are for these two to get out of their miserable state and possibly meet someone new. They both have a baggages that they can’t seem to let go and this party will give them that jump start to their new beginnings.

I enjoyed Luci and Landon’s story. It’s about time they come out of their comfortable little holes and live their lives like they should. After what they have experienced; it’s definitely a well deserved HEA.

I thought long and hard on how I feel about Landon. He had a hero complex that was a bit much for my liking. He just tends to be attracted to women who needs saving. While I like my dose of a “knight and shining armor” hero, he has to be strong enough to want a woman who is also independent in her own way. Here’s my conflicted thought; I love that Landon is the saving kind of man. There‘s just something about a man who wants to take care of his woman...I love this trait very much. But some parts in this book focused too much on his “hero complex” and that was not attractive to me. In contrast, I did love his flirtatious ways, and I love that he gave her space when she asked for it. I swooned over his attempt to win Luci’s beart. So, as you can see. I’m all kinds of conflicted with how I feel about Landon. He’s not my favorite hero, but he is sweet overall.

I did however enjoyed the overall story. This novel had it’s classic Cecy novel which included funny characters, sexy scenes, and a very sweet love story. I’m excited to read more of her work.

If you enjoyed Inseverable, the first book in Cecy Robson's Carolina Beach series, then you're going to love Eternal. This book was everything I loved about the first and then some, full of sweet romance, great characters, amusing situations and hot sex - a perfect pick me up! While you don't need to read this series in order I'm happy to recommend both books and if you are familiar with the series then you'll enjoy getting a chance to catch up with the previous couple Trinity and Callahan (Trinity is Landon's sister).

Landon has given up on the idea of love and romance after a disastrous marriage that ended in a bitter divorce. The last thing he wants is a new relationship so when his sister insists he goes to a friend's New Years Eve party he plans to have a few drinks and then head home as soon as possible. Those plans quickly change when he meets Luci though. Luci has bad taste in men (and friends!) so getting abandoned at a party where she doesn't know anyone is her worst nightmare. Luckily Landon comes to her rescue and she decides to throw caution to the wind and spend the night with a handsome stranger. That night turns into an incredible weekend but neither of them are at a point in their lives where they're ready for a new relationship so that was all it was ever supposed to be. Until Landon starts his first day in a new job and realises Luci is the office manager. Thrown together daily at work will they be able to resist the intense chemistry sparking between them?

This was such a fun book to read and wonderfully drama free for a contemporary romance. Don't get me wrong I love a bit of drama sometimes but it can get tiring fast when things are constantly thrown at a couple just to add tension to a story so I was glad that wasn't the case here. Both Landon and Luci have their issues thanks to events in their pasts but they're both fairly open about their feelings and willing to talk things out like adults. I liked how patient Landon was and the way he was willing to wait until Luci was ready to trust him before starting a relationship. It was also great to see Luci walk away from a toxic friendship that was hurting her, I've read far too many books that seem to justify a horrible relationship between two women so I appreciated Luci recognising that the friendship wasn't good for her and putting a stop to it. It wasn't the only friendship portrayed in the story either, she had much nicer friends and got on well with Landon's sister so this story definitely isn't about women hating on each other.

Landon and Luci had a brilliant relationship that started out fuelled by lust but grew stronger through mutual respect and friendship. It was easy to see what a strong bond they had and I enjoyed every minute of their courtship. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more in this series and as always Cecy Robson didn't disappoint with her wonderful story.

***4.5 ‘Southern Cross’ Stars***

I absolutely adored Inseverable and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series and while Trinity and Callahan don’t have anything to worry about when it comes to their top spot being usurped, I thoroughly enjoyed Landon and Luci’s journey to their HEA. It was sweet, smexy, flirty story that is low on angst and high on swoon worthy moments that kept me turning the pages.

Landon is a good ‘ole southern boy who has been raised to show respect to everyone around him and help those in need. He has a huge heart that has been bruised by betrayal, but isn’t as broken as he believes it to be. I loved Landon. His charm jumped off the page and his honesty was a huge draw for me, as was his genuine appreciation for all the good things life has thrown his way.

Luci hasn’t had an easy life and worked very hard for all that she has achieved, but can’t always see the good that she has because of her past and the responsibility she has placed on her own shoulders for it. Here’s the thing with Luci, I really liked her. I loved the fact that while she has a bleeding heart and wants to help everyone out, she isn’t a doormat. She stands up for herself in such a way that you have to respect her. My issue though, and one that I couldn’t shake, was her lack of self preservation and the things she did because of it that fell into the TSTL category. I understood why behind it all, but couldn’t help but growl when they happened.

Landon and Luci’s journey to their HEA was a unique one where their beginning was all kinds of flirty and smexy and then, due to a surprising but definitely fun twist, morphing into more. The chemistry between them was clear, especially with their shared innate desire to help others, but also their joy of the simple things life had to offer. While low on angst, there is a bit of a push/pull that goes on that did frustrate a bit, but it all worked out in a way that set them both free.

Eternal is a great addition to the series. It was fun, smexy and had me smiling throughout the mass majority of it (the few exceptions due to those TSTL issues). I loved catching up with Trinity and Callahan as well as the Summers family as a whole. As for the other supporting cast of characters, this one held a mishmash of ones I really liked and others who had me growling, and not in a good way. Kee Kee is probably my favorite, but I am most interested in Becca and Hale and can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.

Landon Summers is an uber-rich guy, feeling sorry for himself because his wife cheated on him with her manager. She was a pole-dancer and he thought he could save her from her terrible family life instead the victim became the abuser. Reluctantly he agrees to go to a friend's New Years Eve party for one drink to please his irritating sister Trinity.

Luci is the office manager for a law firm in Charlotte. Frankly in the opening chapters she comes across as a complete doormat: trying to look after her mother who is a junkie living on the streets; working all hours of the day and night; no social life; dressing like a nun; so-called friends who treat her like dirt and abandon her at the slightest provocation. However, later in the book these seem to have changed slightly as all the lawyers in the law firm apparently want to date her. Luci's 'friend' Blythe also drags her along to the same New Years Eve party to meet football players. Among all the cheerleaders and football players Luci and Landon meet and make a connection. Which leads to two nights of non-stop sex, because that's the sort of thing that a woman who's been compared to a nun does, right?

After their two nighter Luci and Landon part, only to find a few weeks later that Landon has taken a position at Luci's law firm as a pro-bono lawyer. How to cope when your two-nighter becomes a colleague? But then as they move past that hurdle there is the difference in their situations: Landon is the son of a fabulously wealthy couple, he drives a Maserati and has a house on the beach. Luci's mother is a homeless junkie. Not exactly the same social circles.

In the opening chapters a lot of the writing was very florid and pretentious, typical NA/YA complete with the obligatory smirking. I give you an example:
The best I can do is not faint from the ungodly amount of allure spilling from his essence.
I was close to DNFing the book but I decided to persevere a bit longer and behold, it calmed down.

Overall, I quite enjoyed this novel but I think the characters suffered from being inconsistent. Luci went from being a drab, workaholic doormat to a sexy siren adored by her colleagues. Landon went from being a self-pitying, self-absorbed, crass man to being a kind, sharing, philanthropical lawyer whose only aim was to help the helpless. Its almost as if the two-nighter and the rest of the novel were from different stories.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Ever pick up a book, start reading it and never want it to end? Oh, yeeaaaah...  But we usually only get a few of those in our lifetime and they sure are hard to find. But when they happen...  MAGIC.

I have a small confession to make before I get knee deep into this review.  I hadn't planned on reading this story.  WHAT the ever loving?!?!?! I know, right? I freakin' designed the cover for Ms. Robson, I do a lot of graphic work for her, I freakin' love the woman!! But I'm trying to step back from reading her stories because honestly, I don't think anyone is going to believe my reviews of her stories anymore, despite the fact I'd been reading her long before I had the pleasure of slaving, err, working for her.  But then I received the eARC, felt that ever present ARC-guilt I know YOU know what I'm talking about, and sat & read this in one long day.

Eternal is book two in Ms. Robson's Carolina Beach series. It focuses on Landon, Trinity's older brother. Raised with the same values as Trinity, he focuses his charity on girls who needed saving. Landon's heart was in the right place, his execution totally sucked. Landon ends up bitter, hurt, and closed off after a nasty divorce from the 'woman' he tried to save.

Practically dragged out of his house by his long shaggy hair, Landon attends a big New Year's Eve party thrown by his sister's best friend. His hell-bent on not meeting anyone until he, well, meets someone.

If you don't believe in love at first sight, you won't like this romance. If you don't believe in insta-chemistry, you won't enjoy this romance. If you love to fester in a pit of despair and angst, you won't like this romance. I'm a generally happy person so I was totally captivated by the story and its tropes (some of my favorites, as a matter of fact).

First, you have a darling heroine in Luciana (Luci) who has given up on trying to have a personal life while working hard on her career as an office manager of successful law firm. She's beautiful in her own insecure way. Her insecurity comes from being thoughtlessly abandoned as a toddler by her mother.

Second, there's almost perfect Landon. You'd think he'd be the perfect hero of the story but as it turned out, at least for me, he was a guy in need of some serious help with women.  He wasn't just flawed; I could let that pass. As the story went on, he started to really piss me off.

It was a good pissed-off, though (bet you didn't know there was such a thing, right?). It made the ending that much sweeter.

And yes, this romance may be a little sugary but Ms. Robson definitely didn't hold back on the hotness. Phew... those first couple of days together!

Of course there's a plot and it's fully developed. The story is one I could relate loosely to personally so that kept me engaged in the story.

If you need a break from life and you're thinking a true romance with all the bells and whistles is what you need, I think Eternal is the book you'll want to have handy for when the need arises.  But then, don't take my word for it, make sure you read more reviews...

I wouldn't believe me either ;)

Luci kept hope where most people wouldn't have. She tried her best to help her drug addicted mother for years. This kept her from living her life for herself. Landon hasn't lived his life to the fullest for about a year after his divorce. Then he met Luci and they both started living again.

Landon and Lui both have issues from their pasts that hold them down, but seeing them come up for air and finding the love they both deserve was a joy. Their HEA started with not a one night stand but a whole weekend stand that was so much more. Luckily their jobs brought them back together and they did things "right" the second time around. They stayed out of the bedroom and got to know each other on another level. Seeing them fall in love was sweet, funny and sexy.

I'm enjoying the Carolina Beach series and I look forward to the next story which I think (and hope) is Becca and Hale's HEA.

Mon avis en Français

My English review

I love Cecy Robson and I was looking forward to this second romance. So we discover Landon, the brother of Trin, whom we discovered in the first volume and who is recovering from a terrible divorce after discovering her wife cheating on him. Luci, is a young woman who has never had a very easy life, but when she agrees to accompany a friend at a party, she does not expect to discover Landon. But after a hot weekend, they did not think of seeing each other until Landon started working in a practice where Luci is.

It was very touching to see these two characters discover and rebuild with each other. They try to understand little by little what happens between them without necessarily doing it in a hurry. It was a really cute romance that we find between the two characters. I also liked the fact that the author let us know the secrets of Luci, especially her homeless mother, whom she does not manage to give up although she does not seem to want her help. It is true that it is one of the parts of the story that I found the most interesting. We understand well the Luci’s desire to help, to improve things but when we see that her mother treats her less than nothing and does not hesitate to place her in dangerous situations, it is rather sad. I admit that I was quite disappointed the story left unresolved on this subject, without further mentioning thereafter.

In any case I had a good time with this second volume and it was a real pleasure to find the characters of the first novel.

4 Sweet Stars!!

“Her entire face is brighter than a collection of stars on a warm summer night and her smile is as brilliant as the moon itself.”

Eternal was a fun and enjoyable read. I found this story to be very well written and it captivated me. The characters won me over from the very first page. Luci and Landon led complicated lives and had been burned by one form of love or another over the years. The last thing either one of them was looking for was romance. But, as the saying goes, you often find love when you’re not looking for it. And when it comes to Landon and Luci, I couldn’t help but root for these two to find their happily ever after. Yes, their connection was instant and intense, but at the same time, it had a slow burn that just kept you begging for more. The push and pull between the two of them and that undeniable chemistry…Ugh! I just couldn’t get enough. Landon was the absolute best book boyfriend. He was sexy, understanding, hard working, determined and incredibly swoon worthy. And Luci didn’t have one mean bone in her body. She was just the sweetest thing and wanted nothing more than to have the love she’s always wanted. I fell in love with Luci and Landon instantly and their story warmed my heart.

Overall, I thought Eternal was a great read. It checked off all my boxes for a sweet and sexy romance. There was some drama, but not very much. Just a straight forward, make you feel good, warm your heart kind of romance. And I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is my first book by this author and I can not wait to discover more of her books in the future.

Eternal is 1 part billionaire romance, 1 part office romance, and both parts have the feels! Luci is in a rut in life; Landon is still nursing a very broken heart. These two meet at a party and hit it off. What they plan to be a one night stand becomes an issue they have to address. Turns out, Landon is the new attorney and the law office where Luci works.

Poor Landon! His ex wife was a gold digging whore who got busted giving some guy a blow job. Landon is crushed because he had tried so hard to give her everything she wanted. It was never enough (because, lets me honest, is it EVER enough for girls like that? NO!). After watching him lick his wounds for a year, his sister has had enough and begins to push him to move on. Landon has a lot going for him. He is wealthy, smart, and under his unkept beard and shaggy hair, attractive!

Luci is a smart, respected office manager for a law firm and she kicks ass at her job. But, she has kind of made the job her life. She doesn't go out, she doesn't have hobbies...and when one particularly bitchy employee points all that out, Luci reluctantly agrees that she might need to get out more.

The conflict of the story builds with the push/pull of Landon and Luci. Dodging the minefield that is an office romance is tough, and Luci isn't sure its a good idea. However, they tell the boss on the day Landon arrives at the office so its not a 'secret' office romance, which I was thankful for. Luci has a lot going on in her life that she has kept from Landon and comes to a crisis late in the book. The story is filled with lots of sexy times, some interesting secondary characters, but overall, I felt that not much happened. It drug on a bit too long for my taste but maybe I am just being contrary.

POV: dual 1st
Tears: no
Trope: office romance
Triggers: none
Series/Standalone: stand alone within an interconnected series
Cliffhanger:
HEA:

Cecy Robson once again takes you through a rollercoaster of emotions in this sweet, sexy story of two lonely people taking a chance on love.

Sometimes loneliness creeps up on you and you don’t even realize how deeply it effects you until you find someone you truly want to be with. In Eternal, we meet Trinity Summer’s brother, Landon. Landon never imagined that he would find himself divorced. Everything in Landon’s life has come easy to him. He’s always excelled in everything he tried so why would it be so unexpected to presume he would have as incredible a marriage as his parents. But he was so busy trying to “save” his wife from her sad upbringing, that he couldn’t see that the marriage was doomed from the start. It has been over a year since the divorce was finalized, but he still has no interest in meeting someone new.

He is only dropping by on New Year’s Eve to make his sister happy. He knows that Trinity and her friend Becca are simply trying to help when they keep introducing him to the women at the party, but he is surprised to find his attention focused on the attractive, unassuming Luci Diaz.

Luci and Landon spend a passion-filled weekend together and neither can believe how quickly a bond grows between them which is ridiculous for just a one-night…okay, two-night stand. While they try to put those feelings aside, both can’t help but want more once their weekend is over. They are both quite surpised when Landon shows up as the new associate in Luci’s office.

At first, they try to keep it all business, but they can’t help but gravitate towards each other. Working lunches turn into dates, and dating leads to sex, but Luci is still hiding something from Landon. Just like his ex-wife, Luci’s childhood wasn’t all rainbows and puppies either, but unlike his ex-wife, Luci doesn’t want to be rescued. Luci fears that if she finally bears all to Landon, his growing feelings toward her will be twisted by his need to be the hero.

This was a wonderful story of two people quite surprised by the strength of their feelings and how quickly they grow. Neither would have considered themselves as “lonely” until after spending the weekend together, they are then forced to return to their normal lives.

I usually hate stories which include insta-love because it is usually being forced on us simply because we are reading a book classified as romance so let’s just say they are deeply in love and move on with the plot. How about this, sometimes the plot should simply be falling in love! Cecy Robson has such a way with writing emotions that makes you empathize with the character. You aren’t bogged down with thoughts of “it’s too soon” or “it feels too rushed” because she accomplishes that writer’s nirvana of bringing you fully into the story so you feel their dread at the thought of parting. Everyone knows that it is too soon and crazy but can’t help themselves.

Cecy is topping my list of must read authors. She makes me cry. She makes me laugh. But she always makes me love the characters and the story that is unfolding.

Life's been crazy this week. I had to push this book back because I knew when I start a Cecy Robson book I don't put it down. She sucks me in from the first page till the last. Oh my goodness Landon is everything you'd ever want in a hero. He's just broken enough with past betrayal that he's holding back mentally but physically and emotionally he grabbed hold of Luci from that first night. While he fought with his mind, his heart knew better. I connected with Luci a lot. My childhood was hard. I really felt so much for her situation. Landon didn't want to accept that what he felt for her in one weekend was more than he felt in years with his ex. It took time but his heart was truly melting and his mind caught up with his heart just in time.

I'd have never been able to finish this if he'd have pushed her away but while his mind was being unfair and stupid, his body, soul and heart never let Luci far from reach. He truly let out all of what he felt right when it counted the most.

What I loved was how these two really took a passionate start and began a beautiful friendship that blossoms into a soul deep love.

Cecy has a way with passion and sexual tension that ramps up your reading experience to a whole different level.

I loved every sexy second. I adored every laugh out moment. There's something I love about.. Laughing out loud when I am quietly reading a book and something funny just jumps right out and tickles me.
So many emotional moments made this a beautiful read. If I had to pick one downside it's that Cecy added some not so subtle political stabs that could have been left out. I get enough of that on the news and I read for pleasure, escape and the romance. But like the truly talented author that she is, even the bad adds to the beauty of the whole story. I'll never forget how I felt when Landon really accepted how he truly felt. I'll also never forget how much I cried when people stepped up to support Luci in her time of need. I really only wish I could gave seen a little rather into the future with some added little people. But I'm sure more is to come in Becca and Hale's story. I just really and scared that while they have been in love for years that they'll have been with other people and that's somehow something my heart can't take. Make it equal Cecy or make it none.. Or just don't bring it up.. I just want them to prove they really were faithful to their love.

Thank you for another wonderful story. Can't wait for more.

Eternal by Cecy Robson tells the story of two generous, but broken souls who suffered heartbreak in the past at the hands of people whom they both loved and trusted. Two souls who now finds it difficult to embrace the miracle they both experienced New Year's Eve.  Eternal is a story about discovering unconditional love, learning to trust again and healing.

Eternal is book 2 in the Carolina Beach series. This installment focuses on Trinity's older brother, Landon whom was introduced in book one. In the first book Landon is engaged to a woman his family disliked for good reason. However, blinded by his need to protect this woman he failed to see what everyone else saw. The events in Eternal, took place a year after he went through a nasty divorce from the very woman he tried to protect. Since the divorce, he built walls around his heart, determined to not allow anyone to get close. However, he never counted on meeting the beautiful, innocent, and  generous Luciana Diaz. The one woman who possessed the power to break through the walls he constructed around his heart.

I had a wonderful time with this story. It was fun getting to know both Landon and Luci, and observing the development of their romance. The thing I liked about these characters was their imperfections, which made them realistic and relatable.
Landon possessed an innate need to protect those he believed were in need of rescuing.  A strength which was a product of his upbringing and a weakness in his choice of a life partner. Thankfully Luciana was nothing like the woman from his past.
Luci confidence shines in her career, but when it came to her personal life her insecurities shined brighter. Insecurities which were a product of her past.

The romance which developed between them, began with them tearing up quite a few sheets during  one heck of a passionate and steamy weekend. They both had no expectations at the end, but when their paths crossed at Luci's place of work it all changed . The development from that moment, although steamy took a path, where we see them getting to know each other on a deeper level. They experienced a fee hiccups here and there, but nothing over the top.

There were points in the story where my heart broke for Luci. Trying to reach out to someone who is beyond caring about changing their life and who refuses to accept the help being offered is a challenging. A challenge Luci, refused to give up on despite the threat to her life. Not that one could fault her for her stance.

The side characters added depth and they brought their share of humour and heartbreaking moments.

Eternal is one of those that will pull you in with its steamy scenes, heartbreaking moments, a heart-meltingly romance and laugh out loud moments. Readers who enjoy angst free romance will appreciate the story Robson delivered in Eternal. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

Eternal (Carolina Beach) by Cecy Robson
Romance resonates with people, because the key element is love. Love is a universal language, we all speak but sometimes forget to feel. Eternal is a conversation of the soul. The feelings are deep. Emotions are clear and the characters are as identifiable to you and me as the soothing sound of the breeze through the trees. There is no need for more than the beauty of the words, the bountiful feelings and the irresistible characters to make for an unforgettably timeless work of heart. Ms. Robson raises the bar and the sets the standard with Eternal.

I throughly enjoyed this contemporary romance. As a North Carolinian, I familiar with both the Charlotte area and the Carolina beaches. I loved the main characters, Luci and Landon. There interaction was sweet and funny. This is one of those stories that after you read, you just sigh and smile.

I got interested in this Carolina Beach series after Jennifer reviewed the first book, Inseverable . This is near where I live now and I've always wanted to read this author. The main characters of the first two books are sister and brother in a well-to-do family. The whole setup of the family is unreal with the money, the charity work and some of their conversations.

The circle of their friends are also mostly monied. These are new adults but some of them feel less mature.  Some of them, I just want to smack upside the head and tell them to communicate and just say what they mean. The secondary characters will hopefully be more realistic with bigger roles in future stories.

Luci starts out feeling like a doormat in Eternal . It turns out she is smart and capable. I loved her strength and heart. There was the hurtful part of her life which she works to keep hidden and I wish she trusted those who love her enough to share it with them. Landon has been through the wringer and is naturally cautious about any involvements. His aversion to further pain can't keep him from being who he is.  I love the way they finally become a couple with the growth they both have.

Two giving, generous, warm-hearted people beaten down by their pasts can't trust in the wonderful thing they've discovered one New Year's Eve night. I was definitely all in to go on this journey of healing, trust and love with Landon and Luci after delighting in the first story of the series.

Eternal is book two of the Caroline Beach series and shifts from Trinity to her broody brother Landon. One could probably get away with reading this one out of order, but seriously, Trin and Callaghan are not to be missed plus they pop up in Eternal.

The story begins just before New Year's with a broken-hearted Landon Summers staying on Kiawah Island licking his wounds after a nasty divorce and with a hollowed out and tired Luci Diaz realizing that she's letting life pass her by. Persuaded by their friends to come to a party and just have fun for one night, they meet and hit it off right away. But, wary, they set limits and believe they'll never see each other again, so, why not? Only... yeah... he ends up working for the law office where she is office manager and they have to decide if what they feel should be pursued or denied.

Whelp, here's the thing. I wasn't a Landon fan in Trin's book. He was on the verge of doing something stupid like marrying a gold digger. This was obvious to everyone, but Landon. I found him annoying when he got broody because no one was supporting his romance choice, but I loved the first book and I was curious to see how things would go for Landon.

So, I went into this one wondering if I'd end up merely tolerating him or if I could fall in love like I do with each and everyone of Robson's heroes. I knew I was going to be okay- more than okay- when I realized what motivated him to do what he did. He did totally screw up, but it helped me when I understood why he let himself be duped. Even though he wasn't an obvious save the world- type like his sister Trin or his parents, he was still very much one who lived to rescue others. His mistook his need to rescue for love. He almost made the same mistake with Luci after they started trying to be together and I had the urge to shake him a few times to back off and shut that need to rescue down. But Luci was not his needy, bloodsucking ex so things played out differently.

Luci was a wonderful heroine match for Landon once he started seeing her as a strong, capable woman and not a project. Luci has a unique situation. Her mother is a homeless, drug addict that won't let Luci help her and even gets Luci into dangerous situations. Luci is still very much affected by her mother abandoning her at a young age. Luci, just like Landon, needed to face her issues and accept this fresh start that has landed in her lap.

I was really rooting for this pair. They started out sizzling and hot for each other, tearing up the sheets that holiday weekend. Then, when they meet later, the instalove danger never happened becuase they chose to start over and get to know each other out of the bedroom at a slower pace. Things got rocky as they dealt with their individual issues and couple issues, but never angsty. There was so much to admire and like about their generous, warm spirits. Landon had so much love and care that he wanted to lavish on Luci. It was a beautiful thing and she was worthy of his heart. Luci needed to feel wanted, respected, but she also needed someone who would truly appreciate her which she got from Landon.

And, while it was sexy and heartwarming with romance, there was some great humor and engaging side characters. Luci's friends helped push her out of her rut and their straight shooting cracked me up a few times. Landon's sister, Trin, lit up a scene when she was present and had me smiling over her whimsical ways. I have a bit of a crush on Callaghan and Trin so I was tickled to have them back in Landon and Luci's story. Not sure who is next, but I think maybe something's brewing nicely with out man Hale and his lady crush.

So, again, like with Inseverable, Eternal had my heart racing with the sexy times, clench over the heartbreaking moments, relax with the laughter and gentle loving times, and pretty much was one big swoon from cover to cover. Those who want an uncomplicated yet fully developed and well-paced contemporary romance should pick up this book/series.

My thanks to the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Landon Summers hasn't been the best of company, but when his sister all but drags him to a New Year's Party, he never imagined he'd find a woman to tempt him enough to even consider giving happy ever another chance. However, there's something about Luci that he can't resist. Will Landon be able to convince Luci to take a chance on him, or will her fears of believing she isn't good enough for Landon keep them apart?

The first book of this series was one of the best books I read last year, and I've got to say that this story was just as enchanting due to the main characters back stories and what the heroine is dealing with throughout this story that puts her at risk. Why does she continue to want to try and help someone that doesn't want to help themselves? Will she ever give up on thinking she can rescue someone she cares about? The way this story started had me sympathizing with the hero, as he's been through so much because of his ex and it doesn't help that his family is pressuring him to begin to get out and enjoy life again. Will meeting Luci be just the thing to finally bring Landon out of the funk he's been in since his divorce?

As for the dialogue, it was well-written, compelling and intense due to the main characters back stories and what the heroine goes through because of someone she cares about. However, there were some really good light-hearted moments between the hero and heroine as well as between the main and secondary characters. Landon is really tight with his family, especially his sister, and I loved how they teased each other when it came to their love lives. Does his sister provide too much information at times for Landon to handle?

Both the main characters were fantastic and I loved every moment they conversed. The heroine has been through so much in her life, but I liked that she didn't give up hope for the person she cared about to have a better life. I also liked how resilient, courageous and hard-working she was when it came to her career, as it's been a blessing to help her overcome her past in making her the independent and strong woman she is. While the hero, his ex-wife did a number on him with the divorce and I could understand why he's been avoiding getting involved with someone else, no matter how much his family are hoping for him to finally move on. Yet, in saying that, I liked how determined he was to win the heroine over and show her that he's someone she can put her trust in and that he wouldn't judge her because of her past.

Overall, Ms. Robson has penned another marvellous read for this series where the chemistry between this couple was intense; the romance hot and illustrates how great these two are together; and the ending had me sympathizing with the heroine because of how things ended with the person she was determined to help, but I loved how things worked out for Landon and Luci as they're so right for each other. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped things up wonderfully, as no-one is more deserving of happy ever after than Luci and Landon certainly knows how to surprise her with what he wants for their future. I would recommend Eternal by Cecy Robson, if you enjoy second chance romances or books by authors Melanie Harlow, Jen Frederick, Cora Brent and Scarlett Cole.

Landon is a sweet Southern man with good manners, a quiet strength, and a universal sort of hotness. Every word he speaks rolls off his tongue like butter, smooth and rich and comforting. And he’s practically a sex god. For a man who was so determined to spend New Years Eve completely alone, he sure heated up Luci’s night.

And they are magical together, insta-friends melting right into break-the-headboard lovers. And they go all night long. I loved his commanding presence in the bedroom and her honest reactions. Landon is just so darn lovable. He alternates between flirty sass and respectful Southern gentleman, and his focus and dedication are deep. He's both intimidating and sweet. It's the most unlikely combination that I'd never have thought could work until I read Eternal.

Luci is so strong, so modern and competent and stubbornly, determinedly independent. And like all Cecy Robson's stories, Eternal is brimming with powerful emotions. Both Landon and Luci are good people through and through, and their characters shine in every scene, not just the easy ones.

You don’t need to have read Inseverable to enjoy Eternal, but I highly recommend both books. And you can read them in any order. I adored Trinity and Callahan’s story so much—it was GT’s Book of the Month in June of 2016 and was named as a GraveTells Romance Editors Choice award for the year.

If you love romances that delve into a character’s psyche and pull you right into the heart of their conflict, stories that spread a message bigger than boy-meets-girl, Eternal (and this whole series) is for you. Don’t let the first person present tense style scare you off. Ms. Robson pens it skillfully and sensitively, and before you know what happened, you’ll be wrapped up in Landon and Luci’s whirlwind romance without caring what the words look like on the page.

Well, this was a “hardly knew each other but felt like they could easily fall in love after all the touching, feeling, and loving that took place during their two night stand” kind of read, folks. Yeah, so much so it took up the first 40% of the storyline. They both felt an instant connection but emotional baggage kept each of them resigned to walking away after their twist.

Of course, fate had other plans, and they not surprisingly meet again. It continues playing out with tender hearted Luci looking at Landon like the sun and moon revolves around him. He’s equally still enamored of her, especially in regards to what he frequently refers to as her adorable blushing. For me, that constant reference/observation and comments why Landon was so perfect started to lose some of its charm. Likely around 75% when he still can’t say those three little words back to her, yet Luci responds he doesn’t have to. She just wants to make him feel good. Oh, I so wanted her to have enough self-respect to instead reply maybe they need to put the brakes on the sexcapades until his heart catches up with the rest of his body parts.

This ultimately was a sweet, very graphically smexy read, with a touch of sappy, somewhat frustrating at times characters who want to love but are slow to do so. Landon takes an eternity to realize he should stop judging all of womankind based on the self-centered actions of his manipulative ex-wife and allow himself to admit his love for Luci. She, in turn, has a lost to her family member issue she’s been dealing with that gets in the way of totally committing herself, as well.

Overall, it was not nearly as engaging and riveting as the two O’Brien Family series books I have read, Once Kissed and Let Me. However, if you like lots of steam and mild relationship angst between a been hurt before, good guy hero and a sweet, everyone loves her leading lady, Eternal might be a good source for you to turn to as your next romantic read.

Title: Eternal, Series: Carolina Beach (Book 2), Author: Cecy Robson, Pages: 367, stand-alone but part of a series, very steamy scenes, some violence, likable main couple, divorced hero, non-virgin main couple, no cheating, no love triangle, no OW/OM drama, both been celibate awhile, including during separation. Rating: 3 stars

Book 1 - Inseverable (Callahan & Trinity), 6/28/16, Pages: 238
Book 2 - Eternal (Luci & Landon), 10/24/17, Pages: 367

Eternal by Cecy Robson is a fast paced sizzling hot story of insta attraction. Even with all the sexiness there was equal parts of sweetness as well. The romance between Luci and Landon starts from the minute they see each other and the hurtles they each must overcome to achieve their happily ever after.

Landon was a charmer, even with his inner monologue.

“She’s shorter now without her heels, maybe five-feet and change. That doesn’t mean she’s not beautiful. Aw, hell. It’s like she’s photo-shopped.”~Landon

I loved that he couldn’t help himself. With his bad divorce and jaded opinions on love, it was sweet to know that he couldn’t resist Luci. Normally, I would have been put off by the never ending love scenes, but with this story it works. They were just two people who weren’t looking for anything in particular and just decided to go for it because of their limited time together. They both went into their affair knowing that they probably would never see each other again. Luci, who seemed like a shy and timid character in the beginning was cute and funny with her thoughts.

“Have I mentioned Landon has an ass Adonis would kill Zeus to spank?”~Luci

Luci was a somewhat heartbreaking character, especially in regards to her mother. That was such a tearjerker of a storyline that really endeared me to her. Landon’s role in the most crucial aspect of her life was heartwarming and lent the sweet romance that I was craving.

“You’re my world, Luci, my ocean, an the eternity that I’ve waited for.”~Landon

The one thing that disrupted my reading experience was the sudden jump into a flashback without any warning. It would have been nice to have italics where that was happening so it wouldn’t just run together.

This is book #2 in the Carolina Beach series. It can be read as a standalone since I jumped in with this book and did not feel out of place.

“Why do you love it so much?”
“It’s eternal. Not everything is, not that matters anyway, but the ocean always will be.”

Just when I think I can’t love Cecy Robson more, she comes along with a book like Eternal, a sweet and sexy love story that’s verily bursting with good feels.

From the very first page, this book captivated me. It was straight romance with a dash of drama and little bit of heartbreak, but mostly, it was just lovely. Everything about it worked for me. Landon and Luci are one of those couple that you simply MUST see get a HEA, because they’re good. Together and separately. They’re characters that feel more like friends by the end of the book, and the tides of their relationship were constant and constantly engaging.

The push and pull of this book comes not from within, but from without. The past, the present and the future. And it’s perfect—not to mention a nice change of pace. I love tension as much as the next reader, but what I love more is feeling connected. Involved. And like the people I am reading about are real people having real emotions, making real mistakes.

And that’s exactly what I got in Eternal. A romance that brings you into the story, that begs you to understand what everyone is thinking and feeling, that makes you smile wide and ache in all the best ways. Not only that, Eternal also comes with a glimpse of Trinity and Callahan from Inseverable—another fantastic book by this author, and the first in the Carolina Beach series—and a tease for Becca and Hale, which is a book I cannot wait for. I have a feeling that, when it comes along, it’s just going to make me love Ms. Robson all the more . . .

“What I feel, I’m always going to feel for you. It’s eternal, like this ocean, something that’s always going to be.”

I recieved a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange of an honest review.

A beautiful and soulful romance between two broken and lonely person. This was a phenomenal read and proved to me that Cecy Robson can write contemporary just as well as she does with paranormal.

To be honest it surprised me how much I enjoyed this story because maybe I loved the Weird girls series my one previous attemot to read a contemporary from the author repertoare failed miserably. Yet this book, despite my reservations, sucked me in completly within the first page.
The writing is exquisite , the plot is interesting but not too drama filled so the focus stayes on the magical romance happening between the two main characters. The paceing of the plot is just right altought at some moments it felt a bit too slow for me in terms of how many days they actually experiencing under a certain percentage of the book. But then the connections, the leaps between scenes balance this out perfectly and create a dynamic and flowing line to follow.

I love when the emotions come through so clearly in a book that I practically can experience them, just like its the case here. However, I’mnot surprised about this because The author already proved herself on this front.
It’s not exactly the most upbeat story, I couldn’t ever call it the happiest one either since it has a heavier undertone abd you can feel that something deeper is shimmering in the background. But I really enjoyed it and it filled me up with a bit of a warm and fuzzy vibes. Eternal is a very entertaining and comforting read.

The tale is told alternating between Luci and Landonand the bond between them that we get an insight to is something I loved to experince once in real life.
In the beginning of the story they are both in a bind, they both been burned by loved ones just on different fronts.
From the outside Luci looks like a shy, conservative and closed offwoman but when you take the time to start an actual conversation with her qou realize how beautiful, helpful and vibrant she is truly. A hardworking woman, who despite her hard childhood, lives a mostly happy life thanks to the ones that took a chance on her. Yet, she has a huge secret that can cause her downfall. It’s a hard issue and while I couldn’t agree how she handles it most of the time, I can understand her somewhat.
Then there is Landon, who grew up with money, he had everything he ever should need expect true love. However, no matter how giving, helpful and down to earth he is, but he is not perfect. He never really expected to be decieved for his money because he grew up among decent people and couldn’t imagine less. Also I think he is a bit condescending without realizing it.

the chemistry between them is amazing and the sex scenes are not just numerous but off the charts hot too. But the physical attraction is not the only thing that works between them, the easy understanding and the quick, comfortable way they act around each other is a delight to encounter. I loved thet their relationship was just generally missing the awkwardness.

As I mentioned earlier I adored this story, however I only realized that this book is a second in a series by the familiar way it ‘talks’ about certain secondary characters, like I should already know their story. But the fact that I didn’t read the first book yet didn’t cause any trouble understanding this one.
The only thing that I can bring up against Eternal is that I think it could have benefitted from a bit more tension in it. Other than that I loved it.

Also on Romances Ever After as a part of ETERNAL blog tour.

It was a case of love at first sight with me and Eternal. The book cover drew my eye; I absolutely adored the colour scheme and title font, and the cover guy wasn’t too hard on the eye, either. I shamelessly admit I have a thing for guys with beards, haha. I was pleased to find myself immediately hooked to the story of Luci and Landon.

The story was super sweet, and Luci and Landon together made me go aww. I didn’t feel much for Luci at first because at first impression she seemed like a complete pushover, but I grew to love her as the story progressed. The situation with her mother was completely messed up, and I felt for her a lot. Landon is the star of the show for me. He was so easy to love, and he loved easily too. I was so sad to learn how his marriage ended, and at the same time I admired his courage to take a chance on love again with Luci. They were so good together. I love their strong chemistry and how easy their relationship was.

If I had to describe Eternal in one word, it’d be romantic. “Well, duh, Lisa! It’s a romance book, of course it’s going to be romantic!” Well, that too…but also, not really? The whole time I was reading it, it was like watching your favourite V-day movie. Eternal gave me the feels and a whole lot of butterfly flutters, and I love it.

Overall, Eternal is my first Cecy Robson book and it won’t be my last. Super excited to check out Trinity and Callahan’s book next! I’m also hoping that Becca and Hale will get their own book, I totally ship them together.

E-ARC is received thanks to the publisher via Netgalley.

I'm thrilled to be reading another book, by the talented Cecy Robson, even though Cecy is a romance writer, don't expect her to write those light and airy, feel good books! Because that is not life! Cecy writes those, gritty, real life romances, that have you crying, in sympathy with the main characters, because they have gone through hell, and you were right there with them!

And never to shy away from tough subject, the author tackles abuse against men, and homeless family members, and drug abuse, in her new book Eternal. But for me, Eternal is by far, one of her best books she has ever written. It kept me gripped from the beginning, and had me in tears by the end.

Landon and Luci's character's were truly amazing, to be blunt, they felt like my friends, like they were real! But truly, I was invested in the story, from beginning to end, and even though I was heartbroken to say good-bye to their story, I hope we will hear much more about them in future books.

I give Eternal, 5 stars!

Landon Summers is a man who’s had his heart broken. Lucianna “Luci” Diaz is a woman who doesn’t seem to have time for a personal life. This story is a great example of why I’m a reader. I love seeing how creative these authors can get in putting together a story that will hold my attention. Personally I’m not creative enough to have even come up with how our two main characters would meet.

Can you imagine going to a party and getting the surprise of your life? It was interesting to see where that surprise took them. And that was one reason that it made it hard to put down. If you put it down you might miss something especially when there’s no good place to bookmark. The only issue I had with Landon is that he just seemed to toot his own horn – just a little. I know he was trying to impress but it gets to the point where you start to question some of the events.

This story shows what can happen in a moment in time. How worries can disappear, even if for just a little while, and two people can’t help but connect. They both just seem to have exactly what the other person needs. But then they go back to the “real” world. And then the author creates a “surprise” moment that has you wondering, “ok where do we go from here”. Like I said, this author is very creative. And expect to have a romantic ending. It left me ready to check out the first book in the series titled Inseverable.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

What an awesome, sweet, sexy romance! Unfortunately I didn't read the first book in this series but I think you could still categorize this as a standalone even though some of the characters from the first book do make appearances -- now I have to purchase Book 1 because I loved this one so much! Landon is downright swoon-worthy and I want to be best friends with Luci -- I laughed and I cried and had some very emotional conversations with myself throughout this book. The storyline is emotional and intense at times and funny, sexy and steamy at other times. Excellent read! I definitely will be reading more from this author. I love Landon's personality, “yeah, I do.” He smirks. “I’m more than just good looks and a primal god of passion.” There are times Landon loses his patience with other people, especially if hes enjoying alone time with his woman, "I swipe the phone. “Goodbye, Trin,” I say, and disconnect. The phone slides across the mattress when I toss it..." I really enjoyed this book and I'm hoping Becca gets a story of her own.

Eternal started off as a good read for me! A one night fling and Luciana Diaz starting to get over his cheating ex and his divorce. But, when him and Luci end up working together, it went south for me. He seemed to be more into her than she was to him.

Just seemed like 2 different stories meshed together.
