Meg Ripley is an author of steamy shifter romances. A Seattle native who’s relocated to New England, she can often be found whipping up her next tale curled up in a local coffee house with a cappuccino and her laptop.
I received an ARC of this set through Booksprout and this review is in my own words. This is a solid 3-1/2 star set for me.
The stories are relatively well written and follow the lives of four werebears residing in Alaska. Since reviews aren't a re-telling of the book, you'll find no hints to the stories here, nor will you find any spoilers.
These were not the first Meg Ripley stories I've read, but they ARE the first werebear stories I've read of hers. I'm partial to Dragons, so this was a step in a different direction. Overall the story arcs in each were well done, with no missing links. The pacing of all four stories was pretty much even throughout with only a few spots where the tone and pace seemed to lag a slight bit.
The stories have everything that would interest lovers of shifters and werebears - lots of sexy, steamy scenes, decent dialogue, and not too much narration. Meg Ripley is a good storyteller and is able to bring her characters together without a lot of muss and fuss. There's always a slight bit of drama in each story, but not so much as to be a turn-off or to take the reader's mind off the plot and the romance. The only story that had a little more drama, in my mind, was the last, entitled Shared Mates, but even that was handled fairly well and wasn't the type of over-the-top drama that turns me off completely.
I think, in order to give it four stars, I would have needed more character development throughout the four stories. I always like to see a lot of character development and characters that stay true to themselves throughout the book, based on that development.
Overall, these are quick reads that will satisfy most readers of shifter romances.
i read this box set as part of an arc program. This set includes:
Alpha's Secret Baby-In this book, we are introduced to the Werebears Of Glacier Bay, and their alpha Cooper. Cooper is a ranger and goes on a cruise in order to attend a recruitment drive for rangers to work aboard the cruise ship in Alaska. Cooper is the instructor that will try to lure other rangers to work aboard and on the first day of meetings, he meets Alexis, a werebear from Florida who wants to move to Alaska to explore the world. Alexis and Cooper have an amazing connection from the beginning and they spend most of the cruise together. When they act on their attraction, both think it is the start to a new relationship. Unfortunately, Cooper gets called home in an emergency and doesn't get the chance to see Alexis before he goes. When things get complicated and they miss each other's messages, Alexis has no other choice but to go home to Florida. When Alexis realizes she is pregnant, she still can't find Cooper, so she knows she has to move on. A year later, Alexis is offered a job in Alaska with the park. Alexis wants to find Cooper and see if it is too late for them. I really loved this book, i loved their chemistry. I think they were mates and meant to be. I love how Alexis and Cooper fell in love.
Mated To My Brother's Best Friend- This is the second book in the Werebears of Glacier Bay series and features the story of Kylie and Jace. Kylie is the sister of Cooper, the alpha of their clan who was featured in the first book. Cooper, Jace and Kylie all grew up together and Kylie has been in love with Jace since she was a child. Jace is known as a playboy, but has realized he is in love with Kylie, but he is scared to tell her. At Cooper's wedding, Jace decides to tell Kylie, but he just kisses her instead. They go back to Jace's hotel room and have a great night, until Jace panics and leaves while Kylie is asleep. Jace goes to Cooper and tells him how he feels, but tells Cooper he made a mistake that night, meaning leaving. Cooper is angry and forbids Jace from being with Kylie. Cooper then tells Kylie Jace admitted to a mistake, making her believe he meant being with her. Meanwhile there are missing women the group are looking for and Kylie is stuck back at the ranger's station because of her car accident. Jace doesn't understand why Kylie doesn't want anything to do with him. When Kylie's best friend goes missing, she wants to help look for her and doesn't want to call for help from Jace. I really love this series. This book was another good one. I really liked Kylie and Jace together and they really did love each other. I think Cooper was angry because he wanted to protect Kylie, but he had to let her decide for herself.
Snowed In With The Soldier Bear -In this book, Quinton is a polar bear shifter who lives in Nome and he decides to move to Glacier Bay to join Cooper's clan after the deaths of his wife and small daughter. Quinton is set to start a job as a ranger and bought a cabin in the woods so he can be alone and try to find peace. Vanessa is a young woman who loves the wilderness and hunting. When Vanessa sets out on a six week trip in the wilderness to hunt a moose, she shoots one on the first night, but it gets away. When Vanessa tracks the moose, it turns on her and attacks. Quinton hears Vanessa scream, so he goes to investigate. When Quinton finds her, she is unconscious and he takes her back to his cabin. Quinton thinks she was hunting out of season and plans to turn her in, but she tells him she has a special permit. Vanessa wants to try and find the moose, but a snow storm causes them to return to the cabin. The storm continues and they are trapped at the cabin. Vanessa tries to get to know Quinton and when she learns about his loss, she tries to get him to talk about it. Quinton finds it easy to talk to Vanessa and soon they develop a friendship. The longer they are together, the closer they grow and soon they give into their growing attraction. Now Quinton must decide if he can trust Vanessa to reveal he is a shifter and if they will continue to see each other after the storm passes and they can return to town. I love this series. I thought this book had a lot of emotional things Quinton had to deal with that brought me to tears. I loved how Vanessa helped him work through things and how close they grew. I love how Vanessa understood his loss and respected it. Another good one.
Shared Mates- This is the story of eagle shifter River and bear shifters Max and Carson. River got out of an abusive relationship and has no intentions of getting into another relationship with anyone. When River and Max meet at a rescue, Max asks her out for drinks and tells her it is for fun only and no strings. River agrees and they have a great time, leading to another date. Meanwhile River meets Carson at the ranger station and they go for a hike in the forest and Carson tells River all about the plants and animals. River agrees to see Carson again. Carson and Max work together and compete over everything, leading to them fighting more often than not. Both men are smitten with River, but don't know they are both dating the same woman. When they learn that they are, they both want the other to stop seeing River, and they tell her she must choose. River likes both of the men and doesn't want to give either up. When her ex causes even more problems and become threatening, the men vow to protect her, if they can work together long enough. I really liked this book. I like how both men were so different and were good for River in different ways. Good one.
These books contain the four books of the Werebears of Glacier Bay Series. The set contains: Alpha’s Secret Baby, Mated to My Brother's Best Friend, Snowed In With the Soldier Bear, and Shared Mates. Below are reviews of two of the books to give you an idea of what is included:
**** Reviewing “SNOWED IN WITH THE SOLDIER BEAR” **** Quinton woke up suddenly, his sleep interrupted again by bad dreams. Outside of his picture window the snow blanketed the Alaskan land. Loneliness and pain had drawn him to join a bear clan that felt like family. This was to be his new start after losing his wife and child while he was deployed. Still filled with guilt and pain, now he just wants to put in some roots here and find that caring and support from the Glacier Bay bear clan he has come to join.
Vanessa heads to the Alaskan wilderness to get herself a trophy moose. She told her dad it was the one creature she had never been able to hunt and she wanted to do it on her own. Things don’t go well for her and she almost loses her life. Rescued by Quinton, multiple storms move in before he can take her to safety in town. Was this fate intervening to give them both a chance to see how perfect each of them could be for each other? Was this Quinton’s second chance at love and family? Or would they go their separate ways when the storm finally passed?
**** Reviewing “MATED TO MY BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND” **** Kylie Hurst watched as her brother Cooper danced with his new wife, Alexis, and saw how very happy they were. Jace came over and started to talk with her, but she wasn’t really up to it. After her car accident, she wasn’t able to dance due to the two metal plates and six pins holding the bones of her leg together. She told him it was still painful and she didn’t feel as coordinated as before. But Jace held out his hand and told her she didn’t need the crutches with him holding her on the dance floor. And he was right. She had secretly loved him since she was 8. He dated constantly and broke her heart each time. Fifteen years later, she still wondered what it would be like to be with him.
Jace was so tempted to tell Kylie how he felt about her. But Cooper was his alpha and would not encourage him to be with his little sister. Jace would just have to continue acting like the playboy they all thought he was. But being with her at the wedding made him want to tell her how much he cared. He led her to the garden and kissed her! When she kissed back, they went up to his room. He woke the next morning and slipped out of the room quietly, ashamed of taking advantage of her, and drove home.
Kylie thought back to the night of the wedding. Jace would have known it would bother her finding he had sneaked out the next morning, yet that’s what he did! Then he texted her saying thanks for a great night! She was annoyed with him, and she hadn’t seen him since that night. She should have expected it to be a one-time thing with Jace. But she wanted forever!
Jace finally talked to Cooper about his feelings for Kylie and Jace told him he thought she was his mate. Cooper ordered Jace, as his alpha, to leave her alone! Jace realized he was in love with Kylie and they would need to talk, but first he had to get Cooper to accept it.
When Kylie needed her pain pills, she texted Jace but didn’t hear back, so she called Cooper to pick up the pills. Jace had already gotten them, and when Cooper arrived at Kylie’s place, they were hostile to each other. Jace left and Cooper told Kylie that Jace had told him he was in love and had made a mistake the night of the wedding. Kylie assumed the worst – that Jace meant he had cheated on his woman with her! She was devastated and so ashamed to be “the other woman” he cheated with. How could he do that to her? She never wanted to see him again.
I love this werebear set! With winter moving in on us at home, it’s the perfect complement to read this story set in Alaska (it’s still colder there than it will ever get to be here)! The story lines are good, and the characters likable, happily drawing readers into their stories. Join them as they deal with the choices life brings – and dress warmly!
This is a wonderful well-written collection of shifter stories, if you haven't read any of them then now is the ideal time to start. All in one place, will keep you entertained for hours. Have previously voluntarily reviewed these books.
Alphas Secret Baby This is another wonderful start to a series, Werebears of Glacier Bay, two bears from different clans and different parts of the country meet. The chemistry between them is sizzling and instantaneous, but due to a meddling nasty ex, Cooper and Alexis lose a year trying to find each other, but when they do Cooper couldn't believe his surprise. This is a wonderful well-written story, it's quick to read with really wonderful likable characters. Can't wait for the next book.
Mated to my Brothers Best friend This is another wonderful well-written shifter story in the Werebears of Glacier Bay. This group of shifters are amazingly likable and have deep relationships with each other. In this story we follow Kylie and Jace, the alpha bears sister and best friend. They have had feelings for each other for forever but now Jace has to let Kylie know how he feels, but there is drama surrounding the park and they all have to work together to solve the puzzle in the park. Absolutely loving Meg Ripley shifter stories
Snowed in with the Soldier Bear This is another wonderful addition to the WereBears of Glacier Bay series. This book is well written with really wonderful characters. Quinton, a widowed soldier, decides to move to Glacier Bay to try to heal from the passing of his wife and daughter. He saves adventurous Vanessa after a moose that she has yearned for years to hunt, attacks her. This woman slowly thaws his heart and brings him back to life. Their relationship builds as a friendship and ends up deepening as they bond. Can this spunky brave human save the soul of this lonely shifter?
Shared Mates I wasn't expecting this story, we meet eagle shifter, River and watch her struggle to get rid of an abusive ex who refuses to let her be. She meets bear shifters Max and Carson, who bicker over everything, but when she needs them most they band together and become the mate she needs. Another well-written story, not my favorite in the series but definitely enjoyable.
Alpha’s Secret Baby: Cooper was a great Alpha (although his second & third made me laugh, they were a bit like teenage boys having a measuring contest), he was determined that his clan would be well taken care of during his week long absence. Alexis was pretty brave, going from the safety and support of her clan to go on this adventure to a place that is so very different to where she is from. I loved the connection between Alexis & Cooper and the determination of each to make their way back to each other. But, will they be able to? And if they do can they make things work with such a short acquaintance.
Mated To My Brother's Best Friend: Jace.. what can I say, a man trying to be noble and loyal to his friend and Alpha... blah, blah & all I wanted to do was slap him because all of that may have made him a stand up guy in some weird bro code way but as a man who really hurt the woman he cared about and who cared about him... dumb!!!!!! But when the two have to work together, despite Kylie's anger at him, will he be able to convince her to forgive him, does he even deserve it? The thing is even before that can be truly resolved there are women to save and Jace has to protect Kylie, even if it is her own decisions that have put her in danger. Great characters and a wonderful story which kept me up beyond my bedtime.
Snowed In With The Soldier Bear: I’m not a fan of hunters so wasn’t overly heartbroken when Vanessa got clocked by the Moose. Apart from that I found the book to be well written and Quinton especially I adored. His story was heartbreaking and when he finds Vanessa and they get snowed in with a raging blizzard he gets the chance to actually start living again but will he take it? Their story kept me riveted all the way through and is a beautiful story.
Shared Mates: It was beautiful to see how River, Max and Carson found something that worked for them even if it did buck convention and I so enjoyed their story, it melted my heart and I was so taken with their bond and chemistry. Beautiful characters, an excellent story line and a stunning romance.

Mated To My Brother's Best Friend Kylie had an accident that she is healing from. Jace is keeping her company during Coopers wedding. Jace wants to tell Kylie how he feels for her, but feels he should let Cooper know first, so their friendship and Kylie. Cooper takes it hard and turns Jace's words around to Kylie. What will Kylie do, since she has loved Jace for so long? Can she get past the hurt? Can Jace find happiness with out Kaylie? Can they ever come together.

WONDERFULLY written, character-centered COLLECTION to warm a reader’s HEART with LOVE and ROMANCE! The first book written by author Meg Ripley was “Mated To My Brother’s Best Friend,” and I LOVED it! So, when I saw the complete “WEARBEARS OF GLACIER BAY” series offered, I jumped at the opportunity to voluntarily read and review it! I am so glad that I did. There is nothing so enjoyable as sitting by the fire on a snowy day and reading a great story, and that is what “WEARBEARS OF GLACIER BAY” offers readers. Four GREAT stories about some of the shifter rangers who keep Glacier Bay National Forest safe for its human visitors. EACH story is unique, and completely different from the others in the collection. EACH story is a complete standalone novel with some reoccurring characters who feel like old friends by the time they reappear in the last novel in the collection, “Shared Mates.” Over the last few days of sorting and wrapping birthday and holiday gifts, I’ve read all four stories and totally enjoyed each one immensely! The writing is descriptive prose that calls on every sense of the reader. The characters are well-developed, flawed but likeable, and as realistic as any shifter can be. And the plots are as different, complex and compelling as any collection I have experienced. “WEARBEARS OF GLACIER BAY” is the PERFECT collection to purchase for yourself or as a GIFT for someone who would enjoy GREAT ROMANTIC getaway! A MUST-BUY in my humble opinion, with a STRONG 5+STAR recommendation to buy. As stated before, I voluntarily chose to read the collect of the “WEARBEARS OF GLACIER BAY,” and this is my honest, voluntary review. If I could give “WEARBEARS OF GLACIER BAY” more than 5 STARS, I would. So, get your copy of “WEARBEARS OF GLACIER BAY” collection by Meg Ripley TODAY! Happy pages! 😉
A compelling box set of amazing, enjoyable, and compelling read-worthy romances. The amazing storylines are well written and action-packed with adventures, humor, and romance. The plots are consistent, interesting, engaging, and the stories move along at a brisk pace. Each book is unique with characters that are likeable, well-developed, and deep. The chemistry between the characters is steamy and off the charts. This series is a must read. Highly recommended!
Alpha’s Secret Baby - Wow this is one wild ride of ups and downs, fate, and a jealous ex. The storyline is emotionally deep, flawless, and heartwarming with a little intrigue added. Instant and potent chemistry between the characters and the well-developed consistent plot will ignite your fingers to keep turning the pages. It is a really enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more.
Mated To My Brother's Best Friend - A really fast pace enjoyable paranormal romance. It is an emotional read with bits of humour and witty banter thrown in. The characters are beautifully written, the chemistry between them is off the charts. Amazing storyline with lots of twists and turns and moves along at a brisk pace; is action-packed with a whole lot of crazy. I love this series and look forward to reading more.
Snowed In With The Soldier Bear - This is a compelling, thought-provoking, emotionally deep paranormal romance with a great storyline about grief, healing, and moving on. Lovable characters – their chemistry hot and off the charts. It is a well written book that is quite engaging with a well-developed consistent plot. Definitely recommended!

I bought this collection because the reviews were decent. I am just flummoxed as to how these books are so highly reviewed. I gave it one star because I had to give something. The writing throughout is incredibly immature and none of the characters read like adults. I read the first two and then had to give up a page into Chapter 2 of the third book. The author likes to use miscommunication and a lack of overall communication as her prime plotlines. I've included the reviews for what I read below for anyone interested:
Alpha's Secret Baby - 2 Stars I thought about being more generous with this one, but I just couldn't. This story was just boring overall. The MCs weren't fleshed out at all and there was no passion. Towards the end it felt like I was reading a YA with teenagers instead of adults. Just disappointing all around.
PS - I HATE first person narrative. They should come with warnings so I can avoid them.
Mated To My Brother's Best Friend - 1 Star Ugh. This one was worse than the last. Such immature MCs and writing overall. Same plotline of miscommunication. I'm starting to think the author doesn't know how to write fully fleshed characters.
Snowed In With The Soldier Bear - DNF I got to Chapter 2 and noped the hell out of there. My expectations weren't high after the first two stories, but the h squeeing over basically wanting to trophy kill a moose like a 16-year-old had me calling this collection done. I want maturity and character development in my stories, and this author clearly doesn't know how to do that.
Shared Mates - Did Not Read Didn't even bother starting this one.
This is the latest paranormal collection by Meg Ripley featuring my personal favourite shifters, bear shifters. The stories include :- Alpha’s Secret Baby Mated To My Brother's Best Friend Snowed In With The Soldier Bear Shared Mates These can all be read as standalones but I read them in order as they were published and I think that I had the better deal that way. The characters do appear in other books and I do appreciate when an author lets you see a glimpse of the H/h in their HEA's. My personal favourite of these books was Mated To My Brother's Best Friend (Shifter Nation: Werebears Of Glacier Bay), featuring Kylie and Jace. She's crushed on him for years and he's certainly noticed but been hesitant how to get her to notice him and how her brother will react to them being a couple! Absolutely wonderful characters with charm, passion and a deep feeling of friendship and love with respect. Oh and also HOT! A great read just as the others are too and they are so good that I will be re-reading them in future as they are so realistic in so many ways and certainly people I'd like if they were real..I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Most Definitely Recommended
Each of the stories in the Glacier Bay series are sweet reads. Alpha’s Secret Baby-This is a cute book. Karma and fate play a huge role in the lives of Cooper and Alexis. They are both bear shifters, one from Florida and the other from Alaska. This story is about there meeting/coming together. mated to My Brother’s Best Friend-Another quick and enjoyable read! This is the next installment of werebears of glacier bay. This is the story of Kylie and Jace. They have been life long friends but secretly loved each other all along. It is well written with just the right mix of suspense, love and friendship. Snowed In With The Soldier Bear-It’s touches on lost loved ones and the impact the loss has on ones self. It is a good feel read with shifters and outdoorsman skills and knowledge. Another good Glacier Bay book. Shared Mates-We see the unconventional mating of three. It is a quick read with some drama and a happy ending.

The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this little jewel together beautifully. Meg did an incredible job bringing this read to life. Thanks Meg for pulling these awesome little guys together for us.
This is a series of heartwarming shifter stories. I enjoyed them all very much. Each story was slightly different, which I found interesting. The author did a great job creating engaging and likeable characters. The plots of the stories were all intriguing with lots of shifter action. The books work well together as a collection, each one complimenting the next one, as you read through the series. The romance in each book is sweet, as well as steamy, and the ending of each story left me smiling. An enjoyable and engaging set of stories!

Werebears of Glacier Bay is a collection of stories with the bear shifters as the main characters. Each one of the books has its own unique story filled with drama, twists, turns and moments where murder is contemplated by the reader, BUT they all have a HEA. Book one introduces the reader to the Clacier Bay clan and book 4 nicely rounds the the stories off. A great set of books to snuggle up and read on a cold winters night.

I read these books as ARCS from Booksprout. The first story was not my favorite but I did enjoy the rest of the series. Cooper was major jerk. I could not believe Alexis would want anything to do with him. In Book 2, Cooper as such a jerk that he kinda made Book 2 tough. Kylie is Cooper’s sister and Jace is their best friend. I really liked the storyline but like I said, Cooper ruined it.My favorite was Snowed in with the Soldier Bear. Quinton had such a tough road but Vanessa showed him the light. Shared Mates was a surprise story about the Eagle Shifter, River. I was a good read.
This was a great box set. I read all of them as individuals and love the fact she put them all in one box set so I can re-read them all together. Loved the characters and settings in all books and look forward to reading more. If you haven't had the chance to read them as stand alone books, what are you waiting for, grab the box set.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Even if you've read these individually - you haven't read Shared Mates And that hasn't been available til now. Indivually these books are a fun night in....together they're a great weekend in with chocolates and an ice cold drink -it's a bit like Shared Mates! Lol Go on treat yourself, it's the holidays and you've been running around getting everything organised - now it's time to pamper yourself with a great box set -after all YOU DESERVE IT.
In my opinion, nobody does werebears like Ms. Ripley. This collection is no exception. All three of the previously released books in the series are included as well as a new story.Which story is my favorite? I'm not sure. I love them all. I know the series is supposed to be complete but I hope we get to visit Glacier Bay sometime.

Meg Ripley has given the reader a little bit of everything. She packs so much emotion in each book and there is no way to miss the connection between them. I absolutely loved this series and cannot wait to see if she has something else planned for more parks and shifters in the future.
I received a free copy of the book from the author via Booksprout. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Well written stories with nice story line and plot. I would have liked more communication between some of the characters to solve some of the issues. But I liked most of the characters and how well they are described. Twists, lust, steamy, chemistry, danger, drama, suspence and much more makes this an enjoyable and captivating read. They are written in dual POV which gives the reader more of the feelings and thoughts of the reader and brings it all closer.
This well written box set has wonderful characters that will grab your attention. These four books are about the hot bear shifters in Glacier Bay finding their true mates. The characters in each book has steamy chemistry and their storylines will keep you turning the pages.

I really enjoyed reading this collection of stories. There was fun, adventure, exciting events and lots of steamy twists. Each of the stories in this series turned out to be my favorite for different reasons. Meg Ripley is a wonderful author and I like the way she puts her thoughts together.
This series was given to me by booksprout. I am leaving this review freely. This series has passion, love, fear, action, loss and so much more. you find love at first sight, love right in front of your face, love out of pain, and love that comes from the unlikely. I enjoyed reading every bit of this series. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.
An amazing job of storytelling that will draw you into the world of shape shifting bears !!! Join these shape shifting Ranger bears as they find the mate fate meant for them and protect the national park where they live!! Don't miss out on a single word!
I read Shared Mates. Then had to read the others. I love the fact that the same characters are there in all the books and their stories still keep on unfolding. The books can certainly be read alone but the complete series is so much more satisfying. If you like sweet thoughtful paranormal romances with a HEA ending, then this box set was made for you.
huge boxes set of hot sexy bears who will keep you on your toes and capture your heart with every page turn! each one will have you wanting a bear of your own! A great value for your reading dollar!!
