Avery believed starting her senior year in a new school was the worst thing she had to face. She’s proven wrong when Regan reappears and forces her and her friends into the dangerous maze he created.
There’s only one rule: they have twenty-four hours to escape, or they’ll be imprisoned in his Nightmare realm forever. Stronger than before, it quickly becomes obvious Regan has some sinister new tricks up his sleeve as they encounter the horrors lurking within the maze.
When it’s revealed only someone with magic could have set Regan free, the coven begins to splinter, and Avery soon realizes that keeping the coven together might prove more difficult than escaping Regan’s world.
Will they make it out of the maze in time to save themselves and discover the traitor amongst them, or will they remain trapped in Regan’s world forever?

Please tell me that book 3 will be different. I am pushing myself to read through because as I mentioned in my past review of nook 1, Erica is one of my favorite authors, and I won't let one failed series ruin that but, it's just a shame how closely this copies secret circle. Before I just thought it resembled it extremely closely but now, I swear, with very minor changes, it's secret circle all over again.
Another issue I have with book 2 is, book 1 was about nightmares. The cast made it through the nightmares. Having them face MORE nightmares, during a maze, is just redundant. It's been done. Move on. Do something different. Try to keep people's attention. Not just a groan of "here we go again." I realize it's the cast that hasn't gone through the first book bit for the readers it's groan worthy.
One more thing. In other reviews ppl were annoyed with the insta love cliche. I believe in love at first sight however, judging by the heroines thoughts of letting go of her love to save him, it's been done before. Thousands if not millions of times. Why could you not have her thinking of fighting for that love? Making it stronger. That hasn't been seen very often.
This series could have been legendary... but it's just a poor copy of Secret Circle, from an author who has so much more to give.
I guess I can give up on my wish of ever being friends with Erica after this.
Sigh. Better to be honest than, to kiss butt and give false confidences.
I love Erica Stevens books however, this series is just not very captivating to me. The characters don't seem very deep or emotionally real so it's hard to connect to them. I will read the last book just so I know how the story ends but this is not my favorite series by her. Reid seems clingy, Avery seems scatter brained, and the other characters we don't know as much about so it's hard to relate or connect to anyone. I don't want to give spoilers away, so without much detail, I think Avery's choice at the end of this book was nothing like her character, which again makes it hard to relate to. Ironically, Regan was my least favorite in book 1 but since he is the only character that seems to be staying consistent in character was more of my favorite in this one. There are fast chapters and the events/nightmares that they encounter make it easy to read through.
I'm torn, I love the story and the Maze of nightmares was freaking amazing my heart was pumping with massive anxiety the whole time I was reading but I also couldn't look away, but what I'm not a fan of is the teen drama and angst crap Avery was wrong to break up with Reid they are stronger together and seriously Reid is an idiot for letting it happen but aside from that and Talia who is just creepy the book was good I just don't think the break-up drama from Avery and Reid was needed I feel the only way to defeat Regan permanently is together and Avery is much strong with Reid by her side but we will just have to wait for book 3 I'm just hoping its not filled with more teen relationship crap because that really takes away from what would have been a near-perfect book for me.
Continuing the adjustments to life with a coven, new school and a boyfriend, Avery is living a fast forward life. Encountering her worst fear happens but like in book 1 Avery & friends get trapped by Regan and his realm of Nightmares but it's altered into a maze. On the edge situations complete with nail-biting suspense that leave the coven divided. It is Avery's task to reunite the divided but she needs to have courage and brave the bad feelings. It does end on a melancholy note. Ready to rid this feeling of sadness and start book 3: Dream Walker.
Bad dreams and a new friend precede the sudden appearance of Regan back in the picture once more. Hes back and throwing them into nightmares once more. Although this time it’s a different set of friends of Avery and their fears become the new thing to get through. They are pretty scary and gross, and things I think are probably common fears among people, well, maybe besides Sandra’s. Hers is a little more odd fear than the others I think. It was another good read, although I’m not sure I agree with how Avery does things in the end, but I am eager to see what the next book holds.
This is really a wonderful and unique series. As always, Erica does a wonderful job getting her readers to connect with the characters and ultimately fall in love with them. This book offers lots of twists and turns as Avery tries to find her way out of the maze created by Regan. The book offers a great "keeping you on the edge of your seat" feeling as well as a bit of a scare factor. Don't wait for the entire series to come out - go grab these books!!!
Erica’s done it again! This book is everything you expect from her and then some!

⬆️ Hooked! I knew this book would be amazing after the first book “Nightmares” but she has out done herself again! I can’t wait for book 3 Dream Walker!!
This is a brilliant 2nd book in the series. I was not familiar with witch books. But I truly love this series. Characters are well developed. The story arc draws you in, makes you care about the characters. The cover is awesome. I love covers that make you want to one click the book. I’m a huge one clicker just based on the cover. Grab this book and enjoy!! ❤️
Sucked back into Regan's realm, Avery and her friends have 24 hours to complete a maze full of their fears and most horrific nightmares or be stuck in the realm forever. A fantastically well-written story that sucks you in and has you rooting for the Coven. Erica Stevens story telling has you vividly living out the story with Avery and her friends.
Just as i expected another great story brought to life. After what the Coven went through in the first book didn't think it could get any worse but Erica rolled it all out and now seems the Coven is in need of some miracle to get back together. Cannot wait for the third book.
Witches and power. After binding Regan at the end of book one they thought it was safe, not so much new faces and threatening ones make for a difficult 24 hours and then some. Can't wait for the third book
The first book was better to me. This book was good up until I got to the second half, did not enjoy it much after that. I hope the last installment will give me what the first book did.
I was sprinting the first started the 2nd right away. She keeps you guessing to who betrayed the coven. You will never guess who it is. Thank you for another awesome book could put it down.
Not as good as the first book this one has a hard time keeping me interested. To many things open to many question and repeat nightmares just a little different setting.
This 2nd book was great. It was unexpected to see Regan is back. I hope Avery can get everyone back together before he returns again. So who has the skull...can't wait to find out.
Book two was just as explosive as book one. They took care of Reagan in the first book, but Avery can’t shake the feeling that something is wrong. Alliances are tested, and feelings are hurt amongst the coven. You’d have to read the book to find our what happens next and you so should. Fantastic follow up.
