Radha and Krishna have been worshipped as a couple for so many ages. Despite this, why is Rãdhã not listed as one of Krishna’s 16,000 wives?
There are many unasked and unanswered questions about the relationship of Rãdhã and Krishna. Due to many myths and folklore, the divine relationship is mistaken as unethical. Rãdhã is said to have been married to Rayan. At the same time, there are numerous stories of Krishna’s and her amorous pastime in the isolated woods of the Vrindavan. It is also said that once Krishna left Vrindavan, he didn’t turn back to Rãdhã. Are all these the partial truths, are they facts or just white lies?
My Affair with Rãdhã is a book that unfolds many untold stories about Rãdhã and Krishna—stories beyond their birth, about their passionate love and love-making, about the reason behind their incarnation and separation, stories about their reunion and return from planet Earth. It is an attempt to glorify the divine love.
➡️ My affair with Radha unfolds many aspects of life of both Radha and Krishna. ➡️ I have known very little information before reading this regarding Radha especially. ➡️ I always love the book based on Krishna so I liked this one. ➡️ Good use of vocabulary and language. ➡️ Book written in well manner starting from the first meeting of Radha and Krishna till their departure. ➡️ I would love to mention that I loved the cover!! ➡️ When I started the book, few lines are written in Gujarati language, and I loved that most, because being Gujarati, Gujarati is my mother tongue and that connects with me more impact fully. ➡️ Well described emotions but somehow I felt like it could have been show in better way. ➡️ Overall good one !!
"I am never separated from Radha... She is always with me even when I am alone."
Narrated as if the entire story is told by Lord Krishna himself with the writer being just a humble listener, "My Affair with Radha" by Kunal Desai brings to the limelight the mysterious, the divine, the spiritual relationship between Radha and Krishna.
While offering their prayers to the idols, some people might often wonder why Radha and Krishna are always worshipped together, even though Radha was never a legally married wife of Krishna in their earthly incarnation. And there are so many unasked and unanswered questions regarding this power couple as well as regarding their other marital relationships.
"Love can never be explained, it can only be realized. Love can never be exhibited, it can only be experienced."
Author Kunal Desai, in his attempt to glorify the divine love story, pens his book, "My Affair with Radha", where he decides to answer such questions by unfolding the untold stories about Radha-Krishna and revealing the spiritual relationship between them.
In the most detailed manner with its first-person narration and framed tales, the book commits itself to explore the divine relationship between Radha and Krishna, gradually unveiling how they are not different individuals but is an inseparable entity, one that cannot exist without the other.
"We are not different entities. We are one and the same."
Interspersed with Krishna Gyan and conversion between the narrator and the Supreme Lord, the book also tells the tale of Krishna's life away from Vrindaban and the reason behind his acceptance of different women as his wives.
And in the process, the book ends up introducing us to his wives, who weren't ordinary people either but were actually divine beings. All the women tha Krishna married were the incarnation of powerful Goddesses who descended upon the earth to support the Lord in all his endeavors and fill him with the divine power to fulfill his soul mission and the purpose of his birth.
"One who puts his heart, devotion, prayers, worship to me, he finally attains me because his soul has already surrendered to me."
The author picks up separate episodes and important scenes from the ancient scriptures and then adds his own magnificent hue of imagination to colour the narrative that tells the tale of the divine characters and their timeless love story.
Using his own imagination and beliefs to create some tales and borrowing a few stories from the ancient scriptures, the author weaves in a compact narrative which not only glorifies the divine love story between the spiritual couple but also assures that with Krishna, everything is pre-planned and everything happens for a pure good reason.
"Even though she is away from Krishna, Radha always resides in his heart."
This is not to hurt anyone's feelings and completely according to my opinion and understanding of the divininity. It looks like as if a youngster has written this book for the same type of target readers. Some things were 'facts' but on a serious note why do a person believe on a supreme power if that supreme one is more like a human with humanly emotions. It felt like a story of a normal human couple full of lust, sex and breakup. I don't think a god or a goddess (specifically the one of love) will be so much influenced and incline oneself into the feelings of jealousy, ego and lust. Sometimes they did but completely focusing on the same thing. There was no good qualities of goddess radha shown in the book except that she was egoistic and jealous of the sexual relationships of krishna. Even many humans including me do not think that sex is such an important part when it comes to love. Love is by heart and soul to heart and soul. And here in the book goddess herself was more concerned about sexual things and not the love they share. Comparing love to lust and that too by the goddess of love herself, is not at all a godly quality. And really, durga parvati and every other goddess was just sexually inclined towards krishna? All you think about gods is this? Not at all a good read in my opinion. Radha and krishna were divine not just because they were celestial beings but also because of the unconditional love they had for each other which was not bound because of their separation or other queens of krishna. They were divine because they had each other even when they were separated. Their story is divine because radha stated that no matter where Krishna is, he is ever living with me, in me and in everything around me. But this is not the case according to the book.

As name suggest it Radha Krishna divine love story but beyond love there is sepration of them.there are so many things like * why Radha and Krishna seperated? * why Radha is not called as Krishna's wife? *why Radha and Krishna incarnated on earth as human? *why Krishna being a supreme god not lived with Radha after so much love, faith and respect ? I really loved it very simply written and explained each and every little thing very beautifully.MahaRasLeela in Vrindaban is described very beautifully i loved that part. Everyone adores the story of Radha and Krishna. The beautiful relationship and the meaning of love depicted in this book is good.
The book is not only about Radha and Krishna but also captures many other events in the life of Krishna. The writer has done a commendable job of connecting the events in Krishna’s life with reasons.
This book is not about romance but about love, showing that even gods are not pardoned from their karma.
The separation of Radha and Krishna is the main plot of this book and the writer has done good research work.
The writing is a little difficult to understand for the beginners.
If you are interested in the mysteries of Krishna, read this book once.
My Affair with Radha is an answer to many questions. The author succeeded in making krishna speak through his words. Yet at some points, I felt it could have been made better.
Main reason I picked this book to find out answers to so many questions related to Radha, for which I got quite satisfactory answers. Some of those questions are as follows: 1) How can god be helpless? 2) If Krishna was incarnation of lord Vishnu, why he is worshipped with Radha instead of Rukmini- incarnation of goddess Laxmiji? 3) Why Krishna didn't marry Radha? He fulfilled all promises from his last avatars which he made to so many girls to marry them. So why not Radha? 4) What happened after Mahabharat, did Krishna unified with Radha again? 5) If Krishna is incarnation of lord Vishnu, what is base of Goloka?
