You can't go wrong with a book by Heather B. Moore, she's an automatic read for me. This is a collection of four previously released novellas in a great collection. I enjoyed some of the stories more than others but all are well written and are clean romances.
FALLING FOR SYDNEY--Sydney seems to have the perfect life, and Rian's the perfect fiance that she's going to marry in a couple of weeks. Suddenly, and without any prior warning it all falls apart with a life shattering event that changes everything Sydney has imagined for her future. Instead of finding Rian at his apartment, she finds a man who claims to be his brother, Jake. Sydney discovers Rian was not the man she thought he was or pretended to be.
I don't know how I'd react to something so devastating but Sydney seemed to recover and bounce back a little too quickly for someone who was in love and almost married to another guy--even if he turned out to be a complete fraud. Her relationship with Jake felt a little rushed, although I liked Jake. Sydney's lucky to have girlfriends like Maria and June.
FALLING FOR MARIA--Maria loves her job but doesn't care at all for several of the changes that are being implemented since a new company bought them. She can't wear her bright colored wardrobe, decorate her cubicle/office and inter-office romances are forbidden. She tries to get her coworkers to support her when she questions their new boss, Walker, about the new policies, but when they don't back her up she considers quitting. Can her new swoony-worthy but rule following boss change her mind?
This was my favorite story in this set. Maria was spunky and wasn't afraid to question the need for all them to dress almost the same and do their work in drab cubicles/offices. I couldn't picture her with Josh, since he's the one who wanted to keep their relationship a secret. I thought it was funny when he changed his mind and she told him they weren't getting back together. I also thought the attraction and relationship with Walker was believable and didn't feel rushed.
FALLING FOR JUNE--June and her best friends, Sydney and Maria, are in Maui for a vacation. They have a gorgeous beach neighbor, Lance, who's very interested in June. She's not keen on having a vacation fling, but she's definitely attracted to Lance and the sparks are there. Lance is a great guy, he and June spend a lot of time together. Sydney and Maria encourage her in this new relationship when they find out Lance and June live an hour away from each other.
This is a wonderful getaway story--I mean it's Hawaii! I liked how Lance encouraged June to try new things since her latest boyfriend was a jerk who demeaned her and took away some of her self confidence. I didn't feel their relationship felt rushed since they were in Hawaii for a week and spent quite a bit of time together, although I wish this one were a little longer so I could get more of June and Lance's story once they were back home.
FALLING FOR LUCY--Can you relate to having a sibling who's perfect? If so, then you'll be able to relate to Lucy, who's older sister Sydney is "perfect". Lucy can't seem to find her place in this world. She's dropped out of college--college isn't for everyone--and has recently been fired from her latest job, but it looks like things are about to change for Lucy. She gets a job at a bookstore, which is basically her dream job because she LOVES to read. Then she meets her boss, Adam.
I loved this story because Lucy is just trying to find where she fits in. It's evident she's found her place in this independently owned bookstore as she starts suggesting small changes to bring in customers and Adam agrees with her. I love the scene of the store's first storytime, where she wears a costume and how she interacts with the kids. Of course Adam fell in love with her.
Great series! I love that the author put all of them into a box set. I really liked the ladies in each of these books. And their friendship with each other was great! Click on the links to read each individual review. Content is listed at the end of each individual review.
4 stories of 4 couples falling in love. Each one is enjoyable, and they are short enough to read in a sitting. Good author of everything she writes.
Sydney Brothers, one she is engaged to, and now gone. Meeting brother Jake is he the real thing. Good short story of brothers and secrets. Maria One loves Maria, she is fun, flirty and loves Josh. Everything changes with a new boss and company policy. She is young, but against the rules, and her mode of dress, that is too much. Will she switch jobs and what about this new boss Delightful and enjoyed the audio. June June and friends come to Maui, with sunsets, beaches and Lance next door. Would this guy be any different if she stayed. Her books are always good and this was sweet and easy to listen to. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
I loved this series! Such great short stories. The title says it all, each book is about a couple falling in love. I don’t have a favorite story because each time I finished one I thought “this one is the best” only to read the next which was equally good. I love stories this length too because it’s easy to read right before bed. Each story in this series has a setting and circumstance that is unique, sometimes a little unexpected but always fun and clean. I’m going to have to start reading more by this author.
They were so cute and I feel like each one got better. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I wish they were longer so the story could've been flushed out a little more. Very clean- no sex and very little language Adorable - read it, you won't regret it.
Falling for Sydney: This was a short book and a really fast read. I enjoyed Sydney's character and her friendship with her friends, plus the interesting developments with the brothers Rian and Jake. There were a few times where I wanted more details and more background, but overall the pace moved quick and kept me engaged. I really did want more from this story, more of what happened with Jake and Sydney, to slow the pace down a bit.
I always enjoy this author's writing style and am always looking forward to seeing what she comes up with next, so I look forward to the other 2 books in this series about Sydney's friends June and Maria.
Falling for Maria: Entertaining shorter book, just like the one about Sydney in this series. Maria is quite a vibrant character and very willing to stand up for herself. I enjoyed the interactions with her and Walker, as well as the descriptions of her vibrant outfits. A very fast, enjoyable read. These books can be read in any order because while the 3 best friends are the same in each book, their stories don't cross over and spoil anything. I look forward to reading the third book in the series, about June, when it comes out later this summer.
Falling for June: I enjoyed this really fast read, the final one in this series. I loved revisiting Sydney and Maria but focusing instead on June and her vacation with her friends and finding a romance while there. Cute, fast, a bit predictable and slightly cheesy but still really enjoyable and well-done, especially for the short length of the book/novella, for the characters and action to unfold and be developed so well.
I really enjoyed this series overall and hope for more of this length from this author!!!
Falling for Lucy: This is a super fast read. While it's a romance, the relationship is more in the very beginnings and not the long-term building of a romantic relationship like a lot of other rom-com books (there's some humor in this, but I wouldn't really term it a rom-com, just comparing it to other similar contemporary books). It's similar to the other 3 books in the series, which I read a long time ago, but this one is about Sydney's younger sister, while the other 3 focus on a group of friends. I loved the bookstore setting and both Mr. Parks and how they played into the story. There are tons of literary references so book nerds will really love that! Again, a fast read that I read in about an hour.
4 short stories, which seem to have been written in reverse 😂 the last book was probably my favourite out of all of them. Each story seems to follow the trend of love at first sight which I’m not a fan of. These books are clean in that there is no explicit content. I listened to the audible version by Xe Sands and I thought she did an excellent job. The actual characters personalities were also enjoyable. The stories being so short made it difficult to fully connect with them in my opinion but each story is linked in that it’s about 3 best friends and a sibling for in the last book. If you’re in the mood for a quick sweet read then you’ll likely enjoy this box set. I have to admit I prefer this authors regency romances but that’s my go to genre 😂
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed listening to this set of books. They were short and sweet but left me satisfied with the length of each story. I loved the characters and enjoyed the plot line of each book. Best of all they were all clean! The stories were all linked by the same characters, but all of them could absolutely be read as stand alone books. I got to listen to the audio version of this book and the narrator was amazing I could listen to her all day. She even did good with the male voices.
Four strong and capable women, Sydney, June, Maria and Lucy will find their true love and happiness in these four sweet love stories. The audiobooks is great, Xe Sands really makes Heather B. Moore works come to life
I enjoyed these stories of romance for a group of strong women and men who have enough strength and self confidence to appreciate that. These stories are sweet, surprising and full of spine-tingling romance! I received an advanced listening copy of this audiobook. I am leaving a voluntary review.
Each story is unique, sweet, and filled with emotion, hope and love. The books draw you in so that you don’t want to put them down without finishing them. Xe Sands does a fantastic job narrating these books and bringing the characters to life.
