Together, Osiris Vanguard and Bobby Macintosh are the most infamous bounty hunting team in the solar system. Osiris is the leader, an ex-soldier who values discipline and efficiency above all else. Bobby, on the other hand, is a shameless scoundrel who nonetheless keeps their spaceship running and keeps Osiris from working himself into an early grave.
For two years now, Osiris has had a secret crush on his partner. Very secret. He’s a professional, after all. It’s not professional to fall in love with your co-workers. Besides, Bobby may not even be into men.
What Osiris is about to find out is that Bobby also has a secret. And it just might get them both killed.
Deliver me a cheeky snarky over the top space romp, and I’m one happy reader!
Osiris is a renowned bounty hunter, tough as nails, and not afraid to take things past the gruesome violent scary side if the occasion calls for it. Ever by his side is his mechanic and BFF Bobby, and one can only imagine the trouble these two get into.
Though Osiris wouldn’t mind a romp or 10 with Bobby, he wouldn’t jeopardize their friendship for just some sex. However, when secrets are revealed, is there enough of a shared past to keep them together or will the truth tear them apart?
Well, of course you know the answer to this! Fun and funny, and I want all the stories about these two hooligans!
Loved this book, loved Ozzy and Bobby and their chemistry was sizzling, their banter super funny and I had so much fun reading this!! I could read TJ Land all the times, and this book was very good!
This was a nice story, I really liked the premise and the characters were good, but I felt like the book skipped or glossed over some key parts in the relationship development that made it feel rushed and a bit emotionally unsatisfying to me.
Review for all three books: This series is a fun sci-fi romantic comedy about bounty hunter Osiris "Oz" Vanguard and former sexbot/current mechanic Bobby McIntosh. Oz has some hang-ups about robot "drones" so feels betrayed when his ship's mechanic that he's had a hard-on for is revealed to be a highly sophisticated robot. Oz doesn't know if Bobby's into dudes or even has the necessary parts. Although, once he discovers Bobby is into him and has a prostate it's quite literally "all systems go." They run into some trouble with assassins, bombs, losing skin, and other minor annoyances along the way. The chemistry is great and the stories are hilarious.
Each short is quite short (this one is 30 pages on my reader) and I finished the whole series in less than an hour. The covers have very little to do with the story, I'm not sure who they're meant to be and the last book's cover seriously creeped me out. Love the titles though.
I really enjoyed this light romp about a futuristic bounty hunter and his partner, on an aging spaceship coming in to a planet for some leave and refitting. Osiris is a fun character, and he and and his employee/partner Bobby riff of each other in entertaining ways.
I was a little disappointed by the ending, which after the big reveal, skipped past some of the deeper issues presented (notably the whole issue of rights) and fell into a brief, very superficial HEA. It was fun, but the first 3/4 set up a potentially more nuanced story. Still, there's a sequel, so I'll see if I get more there. And seeing the guys happy together was satisfying.
In each book I've read so far, I've enjoyed Land's writing voice, and his characters. Will be checking out more of them.
I began reading this at one o'clock in the morning and needed something light after I had a bad time reading my last book (K.J. Lewis - Sunday Love) and just like That Man has an Iron Will the title made me laugh again. This story had a bit more sex in it but again it was a fun read.
This was fun sci-fi short about a bounty hunter and his partner. The world is filled with droids and enemies, and these two jackassess are funny and cute. It's just really short. Luckily there's a couple sequel shorts.
This was my first book from T.J. Land, who seems a competent writer. Will definitely read more.
Oh the puns..... They are a good way to describe this story which was basically a friends to lovers with extra thrown in. It was a fast paced. quick read and well worth the time.
New to me author, plus it was free. Really enjoyed it. Oz and Bobby were fun characters, especially Bobby. For a short story, it felt robust. Lots of humour, a bit of action and a satisfying end. I'm definitely going to read the next in the series.
i have hoarded a good number of tj land books over the years and i finally tried one.
this was a delightful mix of firefly and saga. the humor is on point, the characters are vivid and unique. it set a whole world in a short story lenght and it was highly entertaining.
I really enjoyed the book. The characters were interesting and the plot was superb. This may be a short read, but it was fun. If you're looking for snarky characters with personalities that don't change, set in a Sci-fi world, look no further.
Light hearted fun quick read, with some thought provoking concepts humorously tackled.I will be finding the rest of this authors works and devouring them too
Well... I think I should read this book beforeThe Bounty Hunter’s Bad Day (Well... I didn’t knew, so it’s not really my sauf 😂🤷🏻♀️) I really like this short story too. (And now I know more about them, so I’m happy 😊) I’ll not write a full review because it’s really short (like... 41 pages.) But it’s on KU and it’s really good, and funny. And honestly, learn more about Osiris and Robby was fun.
