Months after the EMP crippled the country, Charlie concentrated on survival. Unfortunately, that wasn’t working out too well. Russians and Chinese soldiers were now part of the occupation, while the loss of several of her friends to state sanctioned gangs had pushed her to the edge. It was time to fight back. Combatting a tyrannical government seemed beyond sane, but every journey starts with just one step. For Charlie and her group, that time had come. Retribution was to be meted out and with the help of a growing Resistance, reclaiming the country seemed more plausible by the day. Charlie’s Retribution is about many things. It is about revenge and it is about loyalty. But mostly, it is about hope. Because if just a few good people are willing to put it all on the line, then anything is possible. The future is what you make it and Charlie was going to shape it, one bullet at a time.

This continues the story that is parallel to the Going Home series by A. American. There are a lot of times in this book that it bogs down quite a bit with so many descriptions of weapons and equipment, so many military acronyms and so much minutiae on training sessions. I felt like I was in a car where the driver kept hitting the brakes. It was redeemed by the storyline about uncovering the resistance "spy" in the enemy midst as well as how the nuke on Tampa occurred (from the Going Home story). Those parts were very good. I do hope at some point Charlie and Dr. Kramer meet again.

Outstanding

I love this series. Brilliant writing with outstanding characters that you want to know more about. Action packed from beginning to end. A devastating EMO on America, DHS running amok, a President allowing Chinese and Russian forces on U.S. Soil. Resistance fighters taking a stand. Just brilliant

A MUST READ SERIES, I KEEP RECOMMENDING TO EVERYONE I KNOW!!!!!!

Another great read by Walt Browning and A. American and I truly mean that. The bad people just keep getting badder, the Chinese getting bolder and good people end up dying, with Travis Nixon on the top of the bad list. Our group of 4 end up breaking up in to 2 separate groups with Mike & Charlie going one way and John & Cyn going another, but both groups are bent on "Retribution" to anyone who stands in their way. With goodbyes said, both groups hit the road, not knowing what lies in the path head, but knowing they will meet up together again. This is definitely one great book in one awesome series and I can't wait for Book #5 to become available, which I'm hoping is as soon as possible. I love everyone in this group, of course my favorite is "Cyn" and I so can't wait to see what damage they inflict on the ones who invaded the United States, but more so the ones who invited them there. This is a must read and one series I definitely keep recommending to others, every chance I get.

, but like Charlie nd others in her group said, now it's time for some "Retribution"

Scary, believable great read!

My favorite genera, I only started reading about two years ago. Given the times we are living in I can see this happening. This series was well planned and written. I have read 357 books/series since I realized I enjoy it. In all my reading I have found plenty of writing errors, none in this series. I loved the story line. I usually get lost with too many different characters but this read flowed and it was not difficult to keep track at all. I love the military but I have limited military vocabulary.. While reading I come across a weapon, vehicle or other abbreviation and I have to stop and ask my husband. He is up on his military knowledge and he fills in all the voids for me. I enjoy the books and at the same time I am learning. The best benefit is communicating the stories to my husband while reading, I am not ignoring him. He enjoys telling me what the abbreviations mean. He gets a laugh when I pronounce something incorrectly. In a sense I am reading the books he normally would. I am sharing and spending time with him. It's a win win for me. Good job!

Charlie will have to dig deep to become part of a coordinated team fighting against the DHS thugs and their allies. The new kids on the block are the Chinese heading for the west coast and the Russians and Cubans coming up through Florida. Pockets of resistance are everywhere and slowly coming together to overthrow or at least put a hurting on the president’s draconian regime.

Browning’s and American’s fourth book in the Charlie’s Requiem series, Retribution, shows us what is happening outside of Charlie’s immediate area and how it impacts what direction the resistance must go. Having the Russians and Cubans side-by-side with DHS is a game changer. The resistance is outmanned and outgunned but has hope and determination.

The farther we get into this series the more it ties into American’s The Survivalist Series. I can’t wait until the two series crossover.

5 out of 5 stars.

Another great book in the series

Given the lag between when I finished the 3rd book in the series and when this one came out, it took me awhile to get my head back in the story and remember who’s who but that didn’t detract from the fact that this was another great read in the series. I just wish I didn’t have to wait so long to read the next one.

Although I was sad to see one of the characters die, it really made the most sense- honestly, did they think no one else was paying attention? That careless behavior was reckless( and something that was quite believable) but there were also quite realistic consequences to that behavior. It’s that kind of writing that makes this series so enjoyable.

John and Charlie make quite a team. DHS and their new Russian cohorts are bringing a novie dyen.

The Russians and Chinese are "assisting" America through their United Nations sanction. The resistance is training up and wreaking havoc with the "Government Agenda". Former cop and former Pharmaceutical Representative, John Drosky and Charlie were hip deep in their resisting. The action is fast and furious!

Amazing characters joined by a terrific storyline have made this series spectacular. I've truly enjoyed reading this and would love to read more! I'm begging, Walt and Angery, please continue this collaboration! I'm waiting as patiently as I'm capable!

It was alright. Another case of not much happening overall, but a little expansion on this and that regarding the entire story (the story that is happening both here and in Morgan's series). The highlight was all of the backstory around the nuke that hit Tampa, which was originally addressed in Morgan's series but expanded upon here.

I just really hope they do the full crossover soon and combine these series.

The Best One Yet!

This installment of Charlie's Requiem was the best one yet. I'm glad I decided to reread the other 3 books before reading this one, because the writer packs so much in so much action. I love this series and can't wait for the next book. I feel like Oliver holding out my Kindle saying, "More please!"

Invasion!

The Chinese and Russians have been invited by the president to “help” with recovery. Naturally those two nations see it as an opportunity instead of a humanitarian mission. I love that the resistance fighters get some results. Only thing wrong with this series is the length of time before the next book.

This is the best one yet. Having been born and raised just west of Orlando in South Lake County,I can picture the places being written about. As with the Going Home series, keep them coming! Can't wait to see what happens next...

Excellent read. With times the way they are, these books give me a lot to think about. "What if", is very real and between Walt Browning and A. American, the foresight received from these books may one day come in handy.
Now on a lighter note.... More for me too please.

The character's of this book are real Americans that love this country and each other ready to do whatever it takes in times of dishonesty in our government and invasion by others.
