The Seven Words #4

The Light Unbound

Rate this book
The last book of The Seven Words series starts where we left off at the end of The Deceit of Darkness.

Betrayed by those he trusted, Rayne falls prey to Sigmund’s trap. Alone and weak, he lashes out at the One, and turns his back on the quest for the scrolls. “I’m done. I won’t be your pawn anymore.”

With the help of a child-like ancient named Mite, Rayne finds acceptance in anonymity at the Camp of the Forgotten. But when the children of the camp are threatened, will he reveal the truth and come to their aid, or walk away? And, if he accepts again his calling, will he have the strength to reclaim the three remaining scrolls, and defeat the approaching menace?

While Rayne struggles with his loss of faith, his friends on Corylus watch in alarm as the man they know as Prince Rayne denies his principles and claims power for himself. Suspicions escalate when the members of the Interplanetary Council die from a mysterious illness, and the young prince declares himself Imperial Emperor of all Ochen. With an enigmatic black cloud approaching across the Cameron Sea, and mind-altering shadows threatening all Ochen, will the new emperor prove himself the savior he claims to be?

I started out as a reader … but then, I guess most writers start that way.

Enter: Chris as author!

I am a sixty-something mother of three amazing sons, grandmother of one cute little grandson and a pretty as a princess granddaughter. I have been married to the same absolutely amazingly patient man for nearly forty years.

I spend my days obsessively writing. (Wow, I really do!) And I have been known to spend way too much time gaming on a borrowed X-box.
A degree in Performing Arts and English Education from Rowan University, a job as a professional proofreader, and more than fifty-years of experience as a voracious reader of multiple genres (most especially fantasy), honed by a level of maturity I didn’t possess when I was in my twenties, have prepared me to finally write what I have always loved, fantasy (specifically Christian Fantasy).

I love living in rural Lancaster County, PA and if I’m not writing, I’m reading, walking my dog, working on counted cross stitch, or spending time with family and friends.

It’s very difficult to mantain the quality of a saga all the time. C.S. Wacher has done it. I love the fourth book : The Light Unbound.
The characters had grown through many trials and at the same time they remain lovable and cherished.
The spirit is helped during the adventures of Rayne. I would like to read the whole thing again.
Anne is my favorite character during all the books

The Light Unbound is the 4th and final book of C.S.Wachter's The Seven Words series. It is YA/Adult Fantasy.

Prince Rayne again falls prey to the evil Sigmund and in his frustration turns his back on the One and what he was called to do. Then he meets a child-like ancient, named Mite, who helps Rayne find anonymity in the Camp of the Forgotten.

In the meantime, his friends try to figure out why Prince Rayne is behaving in ways that are totally contradictory to his true character. Lexi struggles most as she wants to believe in Rayne, but something just doesn't seem right.

There is also a black cloud approaching across the Cameron Sea, and mind-altering shadows threatening all Ochen. And when members of the Interplanetary Council die from a mysterious illness, the young prince declares himself Imperial Emperor of all Ochen, leaving all of his friends confused and questioning---is this really Rayne, or could it be someone, some-thing else?

This installment of The Seven Words series does not disappoint. It is just as good as the first three and kept me turning pages in anticipation of Rayne's friends finding out the truth, and also cheering Rayne on to turn back to his faith.

The characters, both old and new, help to move the story along. Some create conflict and tension while others add a bit of humor to the intense story line.

By the end of this book, C.S.Wachter does a great job of making clear connections between all four books and resolving all of the conflicts from all of the story lines. The ending is very satisfying, and many of the characters will live on in my mind for a long time to come. This has become and will remain one of my favorite fantasy series, and if you enjoy good fantasy reads, I highly recommend them.

After Sigmund used the worst of magic to take control of Rayne's body, therefore forcing the prince into the body of a dying, old man, Rayne is forced to find the remaining scrolls alone. But he's not truly alone. He makes friends and finds unexpected help, and manages to find the remaining three scrolls. Then, the time comes to face Sigmund.
The Light Unbound is the final instalment in the quadrilogy of the Seven Words. It is absolutely incredible, and you feel as though you're going through all the hardships the characters are. In the previous books, the main strength, in my opinion, was character. That same strength follows through in this book, but the writing does, too. These books are incredible and inspiring, and anyone who loves a good, well-rounded story would love these books.

Simply wonderful.

Long have I sought writing which not only further encouraged my love of fantasy also resonated with my faith. The four books, this last one being the fourth, completely matched these desires. Those without faith would find here a strong storyline and keep them interested throughout, and those with; a deeper understanding of how we are loved amidst challenging times and more so how we are shaped and forged in such moments to be simply better. My search will continue for such writers as C S Watcher, for whom I say a heartfelt thank you as we pursue The One.

One wild ride!

Its been a while since I've read a book I couldn't wait to get back to. The writing is elegant and understandable. Just when you think your sure of what might happen next, she throws you a curve ball. I am looking forward to my next adventure with C.S. Watcher.

Loved the conclusion to this series. Really enjoyed the depth of the author's exploration of forgiveness. Too many authors either dismiss it or treat it too shallowly.

The fourth book in this series of the Seven Words, The Light Unbound, is aptly named and full of surprises. Alone, Rayne faces his inner demons. Doubts and uncertainties overpower him causing anger, guilt and torment within. Though this is fantasy, the same concerns exist in our present world. Maybe because we all deal with impossible situations, we can identify so easily with Rayne and many of the characters. Read this series! It is dramatic, yet you can benefit from walking inside fantasy.
