Turners vs Coopers of Chance Creek #3

The Cowboy's Hidden Bride

Rate this book
Turners: 1, Coopers: 1

Lance Cooper knows he shouldn’t try to escape his present problems by focusing on the past, but running Chance Creek’s Fourth of July Revolutionary War re-enactment is far easier than sorting out his family’s long-running feud with the Turners. At least it was until Maya Turner joins the historical society and upsets all his plans.

Maya Turner loves history, but Chance Creek’s re-enactments are boring—and far too predictable. Everyone knows who won the Revolutionary War, after all. Why shouldn’t they inject some drama—and sexy intrigue—into the annual event?

It’s bad enough Maya’s ideas are catching on with the rest of the re-enactment committee. It’s worse Lance’s heart is betraying him, too. How can he fall for her knowing how her family destroyed his?

But the past has its own secrets—and learning them can change everything…

This is the third book in the Turners vs. Coopers series, and I think it is best read as part of the series. Plus if you've read any of the other Chance Creek books you are bound to recognize some familiar characters. For generations, the Turners and Coopers have been feuding and things haven't improved since one of the Turners married a Cooper in the last book, The Cowboy's Outlaw Bride. If anything, things have gotten worse. So when Lance and Maya start looking at one another in a new light, they realize having a relationship might be almost impossible.
This latest installment of the Turners and the Coopers actually revealed more secrets that explain why the families are feuding. And also hints at a future where maybe, just maybe, the feud might end. Fortunately, there are still more secrets to be revealed and I for one am eager to see what else Liam and Steel are hiding from their respective families.

Lance Cooper and Maya Turner find they have a common interest in the Chance Creek's Historical Society Museum and similar goals in life. In The Cowboy's Hidden Bride they try to keep their growing attraction hidden from both families until they started to work on the annual 4th of July Revolutionary War reenactment and raising funds to save the Museum.

The romance is sweet and hidden, the hostilities between the Turners and the Coopers continues through another generation until Maya and Lance bring it to a head in a unique way. It may not solve all the problems but another unlikely couple finds happiness together in The Cowboy's Hidden Bride.

ARC for honest review with no compensation

The Cowboy’s Hidden Bride is book 3 of the Turners vs Coopers (Chance Creek Saga) by Cora Seton and another great book in the continuing feud!

Lance Turner loves history and has been helping with the July 4th Revolutionary War re-enactment for years to help him step away from his never ending problems but when the museum receives word they are losing their lease and need to raise funds to find a new place for the museum he adds this problem to all the rest he is carrying...that is until Maya Cooper, who also loves history but wants more for the re-enactment and maybe spice it up. After attending a meeting and being pared up with Lance to make it happen now sparks start flying, sneaking around, hiding the attraction from their feuding families can these two save the museum, make the re-enactment better and maybe find their HEA despite their families?? Only time will tell....

Crazy Things!!!

Lance Cooper knew it wouldn't do him any good to runaway from his present problems by focusing on the past. He was in charge of the Fourth of July Revolutionary War re-enactment. He had a hard time understanding his family's long feud with the Turners. He thought things would go smoothly but all that changed when Maya Turner joined the historical society.

Maya Turner loved history but Chance Creek re-enactments were boring, she wanted something more intriguing. And she got just that when Lance Cooper got thrown into the mix now things are getting more complicated than she expected.

Lance knew that Maya's family destroyed his so why couldn't his heart get the note!? As they spent more time together, they discovered some of their families' secrets. Secrets that changed everything they thought they knew.

They found themselves working together to save the museum. It was personal for Lance cause the man who owned it was like a father to him. And he was willing to do anything to make him happy. Maya and Lance found out some interesting and amazing things about each other. Those discoveries nearly destroyed what they'd built, but their love was stronger than any past or recent mistakes.

The Turners and the Coopers were finally working together now both families had new competition. Can't wait for what comes next! ;).

THE COWBOY'S HIDDEN BRIDE is the third book in Cora Seton's TURNERS VS COOPERS series. What an exhilarating, adventurous and fascinating ride. Two thumbs up and a recommendation for you guys to grab yourselves a copy.

This is the third book in Cora Seton’s new series Turners vs Coopers, Chance Creek.

Lance Cooper is trying to find a way to stay sane since he had to give up his chance to go to college and study history and be a teacher which had been his dream in high school. Instead he stayed at home and helped run the ranch. This frustration is a part of the storyline.

Maya Turner also has a love of history but has stayed behind to help make sure the family ranch stays in the family. Maya runs a farm stand selling produce and baked goods to help bring in money for the ranch. But she also wants to be something more.

Lance has been involved in the Chance Creek Revolutionary War re-enactment that takes place on July 4th for several years. But this year the women of Chance Creek become involved and manage to make the event bigger and better.

This involvement throws Lance and Maya together quite a bit and the underlying spark that flows between the two of them flares to a full fledged fire. And this is despite the fact their two families have a long standing feud.

I will be honest and admit I struggle with the Hidden part of the title. And I am also struggling with finding the feud believable. While all of the characters in the storyline are to the high standards of other novels by Ms. Seton, I am struggling with this series for some reason. But that hasn’t stopped me from reading the books.

I did receive a copy of this novel from the author in exchange for a fair and unbiased review. I have been reading Ms. Seton’s novels for quite awhile so enjoyed the chance to read it ahead of time.

Thank you for the ARC

Third book in the Turner vs Cooper series.
The Turners and the Coopers have a long-standing feud.
Their elders, Jed Turner and Virginia Cooper hate each other with a passion.
Now, to make matters worse, they both compete for the Founder’s Prize to win the Ridley property, at the borders of Turners and Cooper ranches. Winning is important for both families to control the water source because their ranches are failing. Even worse there is a drought.
The Turners are considered good and honest citizens, their dead father was a cop.
On the contrary, the Coopers have not such a good standing since their father died in jail, being sentenced for poaching.
A few interesting secrets come to light in this book.
Lance Cooper and Maya Turner are attracted to each other. They share a love for history and had loved the town History Museum since they were children.
They both dreamed to go to University but due to both their mothers leaving they had to forgo their dream.
While they fight the love their love for each other because of all the distrust between their families, they try to raise money for The Museum, which had been evicted, while preparing the annual Civil War battle reenactment.
A few secrets about the families come to light in this book.
I found the third book in the series much more interesting. Lance and Maya are well-rounded believable characters. The story was fast-paced and well written

I love Cora Seton's writing and so many of her other series. This was the first book I've read in the Turner's vs. the Coopers Chance Creek Series. You can definitely read this without having read the other books in the series, but I'll be going back to read them because I enjoyed this one so much!
There are a lot of secrets going on in this book and clearly you can see how much the families have been at war. Lance is busy working on the Fourth of July Revolutionary War reenactment and trying to help raise money for the historical museum to find it a new place. Maya is busy trying to earn money for her family's farm but she's lost in thoughts about living in an earlier time. While making pies and trying to see her goods at a farm stand, she occupies her time sewing old fashioned hats.
Before you know it, Lance and Maya are working together to help raise funds for the museum and sparks are flying between them. It seems that they have lots in common besides their families hating each other. Unfortunately, the competition between the families grows and keeps putting a bigger wedge between them, but they can't keep fighting their attraction. Will their attraction to each other win or will the family feud be stronger and keep them apart? This was such a fun read with the right amount of heat and chemistry between them. Another great read from Cora Seton!

Feuding for Feud's Sake

The Turners and the Coopers have been feuding for generations. The current generation doesn't even really know why they're feuding. Well, they think they do, but through this story, they begin to realize they only know half truths and partial lies. Both Lance Turner and Maya Cooper have been the quiet, stalwart supporters of their respective families. But when Olivia Turner married Noah Cooper, both Lance and Maya start to realize there's more to life than feuds. In fact, they start to realize they have more in common with each other than they ever knew. When the town's museum is in jeopardy they must decide what's really important - maintaining the feud, competing against each other or controlling town activities? Can they recognise the need for working together, forgetting past slights and uniting to support the common good and each other? It's a tough row to hoe for our wanna be sweethearts. Chance Creek's Revolutionary War reenactment brings everything to a head (and all the characters from the various Chance Creek series into play) and to a glorious finale. I must say the Battle of the Cowpens is hilarious, while meaningful. Let's just say the women win the day. I love how this series is progressing. Clearly, trust and truth are the only things that can beat a feud.

Another great story in the ongoing saga of Chance Creek and it's charming and intriguing inhabitants. I love the fact that Ms. Seton has numerous series on the go that showcase the different people surrounding this wonderful town. The Turners vs Coopers series is not only full of excitement with lots of "old time family feuds" mixed up with the newer generations, some harboring the same ideals, but others that can't wait to "bury the hatch" and get on with life. Lance Cooper is frustrated with his life, and when an opportunity to push Liam Turner's buttons comes up during the wedding of his sister Olivia to Liam's brother Noah, he jumps on it. But he soon realizes that dancing closely with the lovely Maya Turner is certainly no hardship...and it's one he would like nothing more than to repeat....often. Maya tries desperately to keep to herself, often wondering why the Turners are feuding with the Coopers. Now that her former best friend, Olivia, has married her brother Noah, will they ever be friends again? Will Maya ever be able to forgive herself for what she did when she was eleven? And what about Lance Cooper? Why does he make her blood boil?
Yet another beautiful tale of life and it's obstacles and how love just might win in the end.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.

Another wonderful and fulfilling addition to the Turner and Cooper saga. The feud between the Turners and the Coopers continues as Lance and Maya fight the attraction that will only cause more anger and fighting among these families. Will they be able fight as hard for their love or will it just further tear apart their families?

Lance Cooper has been in charge of the Chance Creek’s Fourth of July Revolutionary War re-enactment for several years but news that the building that houses the historical museum is being sold has devistated the town. If they can't come up with the money for a new location it will affect the continuation of the re-enactment as well. But when neighboring Maya Turner joins the historical society and offers ideas to improve turn out for the re-enactment Lance begins to feel the one thing he loves in his life slipping through his fingers.

With the multi-generational feuding between the Turners and the Coopers this book will have you on the edge of your seat, will answer questions you've had, all while adding new ones to the mix that will have you wondering what is next. I can't wait for the next book!

I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.

This has been a long awaited book for me, as it has for many other Cora Seton fans, Lance and Maya certainly delivered! I managed to finish this one in a day, could not put it down! As the series continues more secrets are revealed and we get more of an understanding as to why the families really are enemies. It’s heartbreaking for our hero Lance and our heroine Maya, unknown to each of them they have a lot in common, their love of history and a desire to keep their local museum alive, and the feeling of never being understood by their families and having to put family first and their own true wants and desires second. Lance and Maya clearly want each other but struggle with their families secrets, long standing hatred of the families but want so badly to be able to love who they want and make all their lives better. For me this one had lots of moments of heartbreak, I just wanted them to be able to be together, but it was hard! I love how we get to see lots of different characters from all of the other Chance Creek series, the re-enactment really does bring the whole community together, really looking forward to Liam and Tory!

In all honesty this is my favorite book in this series to date, however I would advise that you read the two previous books in this Turners v Coopers series first.
To families that have not been getting along for at least three generations and various events/misunderstandings fan the flames of this dispute.
Maya and Lance dance together at the wedding of their siblings and realise that there is an attraction between them, love the way that as they become better acquainted with each other they find that they have more in common than they knew and work together to help the community despite the wishes of both families. They have to keep their growing attraction to each other hidden.
I found that the characters were really likable and the whole book well written, I just didn't want it to end, they became friends I wanted to know more about. Love the fact that we could also touch base with characters from other series by Ms Seton also based around the community of Chance Creek and see their lives intertwine as they would in real life.

A fantastic read I would thoroughly recommend, the only problem is that I am now awaiting the next installment

The Cowboy's Hidden Bride continues the saga of the Turners and the Coopers in Chance Creek. Maya and Lance aren't supposed to like each other, their families are enemies, but dance together at the wedding of their siblings and the spark between them might have not chance but to grow.

Maya runs the family farm stand and Lance helps run the family ranch. Unfortunately, for both of them the Founder's Prize and the impending closing of the town museum are both heavy on their hearts and they both realize that they may be able to work together to help with the museum and the upcoming Revolutionary War reenactment. The only problem with this is that working together doesn't exist between these two families. I particularly enjoyed the friendship that is built between Bart and Lance. I also look forward to learning more of Steel's story in coming novels.

Follow along in The Cowboy's Hidden Bride as Lance and Maya navigate their way through a successful reenactment for the town but also possibly a relationship for the two of them and their ability to follow their dreams, you wont be disappointed!

This was the first book of this new series that I've read. I wasn't sure what to expect. But I enjoyed it. I'm not usually fond of the enemies-to-lovers trope, but Cora Seton has it nailed. Neither Lance nor Maya are living the life they thought they'd be leading, but family circumstances have them doing what has to be done. They shouldn't be together because of the family feud, but after dancing together they find that they can't stop thinking about the other. They end up working together on various aspects of the upcoming Chance Creek Revolutionary War battle re-enactment. They find they have more in common than they expected. There are secrets everywhere with their families, and I think we're going to see more revealed in upcoming books.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story and felt that the heat/sexy level was just right for it. I look forward to reading more of the series, and plan to read the books before this as well.

I love this series is such a fun twist on the Romeo and Juliet story. Two families feuding for centuries. What makes this series interesting is all the secrets. You are constantly wanting to understand what caused the rift and kept it going. Each book reveals a bit more of the story and keeps you anxious for the next book in the series. It's also a great book to help you understand how much secrets can hurt. One thing I loved about this book is the reenactment idea. I've always been one that likes history told in story (probably why I loved to read fiction) more than just learning facts. When history is told in a story form you get to know the characters and their trials, it makes it so much easier to relate to them and understand history. I loved that about this book and think it did an excellent job of portraying this. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

The third installment of the Turners and Coopers was worth the wait! It lives up to the high standards set by Ms. Seton. Lance Cooper and Maya Turner grew up next door to one another yet barely know one another. The dance they shared at the wedding of Noah and Olivia may just turn into a whole lot more, if they can get past the age old feud between their families. In this installment, we once again become re-acquainted with some of the other members of the Chance Creek community when they all try to save the History Museum and Re-enactment of the Revolutionary War battle. I LOVE running into old friends! Wonderful story that will keep you reading! Can’t wait for the next one in the series!

The Cowboy's Hidden Bride by Cora Seton is book three in her Turners vs Coopers series. Every book is about another couple and can easily be read as a standalone. The previous books in the series are The Cowboy's Secret Bride and The Cowboy's Outlaw Bride.

This third book is one of my favorite reads in the series. Lance and Maya are outsider and they are tired of the feud their families carry on. Maya Turner is a dreamer, a people pleaser and good woman. Lance Cooper doesn't care much for the family farm. His dreams lie somewhere else.
The Cowboy's Hidden Bride is a beautiful love story, excellent written and has a captivating story. I read the book, cover to cover , in one sitting. I give 4,5 stars.

Lance and Maya, will they won't they, if it's meant to be, it will be...lol I constantly hear good country love songs in my head when reading a Cora Seton romance and The Cowboy's Hidden Bride did not disappoint.

The Turners and Coopers are back and adding more bricks to the fence between the 2 families, I have to say I am eager to get all the family drama out in the open once and for all because I am guessing that these kids are all hating each other for no good reason.

Maya is a sweetheart I've been waiting for ages for her story and I have to say it was lovingly heartbreaking with a wonderful ending that left me wanting more and feeling satisfied all at the same time.

There really is nothing better than a trip to Chance Creek Montana.

The Turner's vs Coopers is really starting to heat up! Lance and Maya are our newest love interest. While the feud is just as strong as ever these two can't seem to stay away from each other and that little problem bothers both of them. They both love history and are working with the museum of Chance Creek on the revolutionary war reenactment. Just when you think everything has come out in this series you get hit with more facts on the cause of the families feud!
There is tons of adventure and intrigue and the last thing you would expect is the slam bang humor that just about knocks you sideways! Seriously if you aren't wipe the tears from all the injustice you are wiping them from laughing so darn hard!

The Cowboy's Hidden Bride
I must admit that this series is my least favorite Chance Creek series. However, this may change with this latest installment.
I like how this book shows the change not only in the main characters but also the peripheral characters. The characters all seem to be growing and developing more in this book than the two previous ones. I also Liked the focus on history in this book. There seemed to be more collaboration among the characters instead of just feuding.
This book makes me excited to read the next installment in the series!
I received an ARC in return for my honest opinion. All opinions are my own.

Meet Maya Turner and Lance Cooper. On paper they are perfect for each other, they each have the same interests and similar dreams. In reality they have both given up their dreams to support their family’s ranches. Although they have a chance at a future together, this is hampered by the long standing feud between both their families. With secrets and distrust between them all, loyalties will be tested and boundaries will be pushed. Will their love be strong enough to break the feud before it destroys them all? I love catching up with the residents of Chance creek. Whilst most of the community are busy helping Maya and Lance, the Turner/Cooper feud is becoming more dramatic and explosive.

This is the 3rd book in the Turners vs Coopers series, although this is first book from this series I have read it can be read as a stand alone also, I had no problem following along with the book. The two families have been at war for many years, and it continues in this book also. I really enjoy Cora Seton's writing and have read other books from her in different series. Even with the family feud Lance and Maya cant deny the pull between themselves. Both have put their own dreams aside to help the family, and both have some hard feelings concerning that. I will be going back to re-read the books in this series that I have missed. I would certainly recommend this book to others.

I really enjoyed the story of Lance and Maya. There's an old feud that's going on between their families but they can't help themselves.

With their older brother and sister being married the feud is still alive and their older Aunt and Uncle are very much against each other but the married siblings are trying to help each family forget about the feud and live in peace.

Maya's older brother, Liam, hates Lance and wants to fight him every time he sees him. He is very much a believer that Lance should stay as far away from Maya as he can get them.

This was an enjoyable book and it only took me one day to read it. It was very easy to read and it kept my interest until the end.

The Cowboy’s Hidden Bride.is by Cora Seton. This is book three in the series. Liam Turner was as mad as he could be at Lance Cooper. At Noah and Olivia’s wedding the other day, he had danced with Liam’s sister Maya. He had done it deliberately to make Liam mad; but at the same time had enjoyed himself. The feud between the two families was out of control; but Lance had no idea how to stop it. He wished he could stop it because he had enjoyed the dance with Maya very much and couldn’t get her out of his mind. He and Liam had competed all their lives, especially on the football team. How could it be stopped so he could date Maya?

Turners vs Coopers. Coopers vs Turners. This book has so many things going on that it was fun reading just to see what came next! Lance and Maya are neither doing what they want with their lives because of the feud, but they can’t seem to resist each other. And both families think they are tied for the Founder’s Prize, which means more pressure for some, hijinks for others, and opportunity for more. Secrets, hidden talents, and the old museum kept me turning pages. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this third installment in the Turners vs Coopers.

This is another great return to Chance Creek, with the Turners and Coopers, as well as glimpses of friends from Crescent Hall and Cora Seton's other books. While this is a standalone, it's more fun with context.

This time, Maya and Lance go up against the Cooper/Turner feud, and we learn some family secrets, we learn that things are very much not what they've seemed for years ... And there's an absolutely awesome fight scene! Another great addition to the group of characters we've come to know and love.

The Cowboy's Hidden Bride is a cute addition to the series. The author does a good job keeping this traditional story of the Hatfield's and McCoys fresh and funny.
Lance and Maya were always cordial with each other but there was an underlying heat between them. It simmers to the surface and the pair finally become more than friends.
While I liked their story I was hoping they would have broken the chains of their past family history and jump into their relationship sooner.

I love reading a book that takes me away from life and sweeps me along as the story plays out. Cora Seton did just that as I read this 3rd book of Turners vs Coopers.

As Lance and Mia steal moments together the feud between the two families seems to be keeping them apart. As Mia tells Lance her secret it seems one thing that will definitely keep them apart.

This book delves more into why the two families are feuding and once it's all out in the open it seems they just might be able to put their differences aside and just be the people they are.

The Cowboy's Hidden Bride

WOW! Another amazing story between the Coopers and the Turners. This story is about Maya and Lance. It's amazing how these two come together. Their love of history is what basically had them falling in love with each other. They tried to keep their budding romance a secret but things get out of hand as the town celebration gets closer. Things finally fall into place for everyone and Maya and Lance deal their love by getting married. I am happy these two found their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Cora! Can't wait for the next book!

Lance and Maya's families are at war but that doesn't stop them wanting to be together. Despite all that life throws at them Lance and Maya fight to be together.

I found this to be a truly lovely, inspiring and delightful story with such likeable characters. There was plenty of content with interesting scenes which made this a perfect book to read. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend this to you.
