As the second to youngest in a very unusual family, Candice McClain has seen each of her sisters develop amazing paranormal gifts that are sure to do a lot of good in the world. Her own gift, weather prediction, seems completely useless in comparison, and she can't help but wonder why she ended up with the loser power.
Greg Burton was crippled as the result of a car accident, but a new technique in back surgery has enabled him to walk again, giving him hope for the first time in two years that he might have a normal, ordinary life. But there's nothing at all ordinary about Candice McClain.
When she predicts a natural disaster that threatens to wipe out half the small town of Bagley, Texas, Greg has to decide if he believes her strange story about gifts and powers, or if he should leave and try to move on with someone else. After all, some things are just a little too unbelievable for words.
Amelia C. Adams is a wife, a mother, and a novelist. She spends her days dreaming up stories and her nights writing them down. Her biggest hero is her husband, and you might just see bits and pieces of him as you read her novels.
She loves all things historical and enjoys learning about days gone by, but she's glad she was born more recently (she won't say how recently or not recently) because the Internet is awesome, and she's glad she doesn't have to wash her clothes by hand in a galvanized tub. She has hit Amazon bestseller status twice, once for A Clean Slate and once for A Clear Hope.
I really love this story and it’s one of my favorites in this series. I love the hero and heroine as we got to know them both better in this story. Greg who had surgery to be able to walk again came to visit his brother and Candice along with her sister Marti predict some catastrophic with all the rain they are having. I love how they got the family to and spouses and boyfriends together to try to figure out how to help the town the best when this catastrophic event. The need to get the town involved but how do they do that with out them telling them how they know this is going to happen. This is a really fun but short romance that does have a HEA. It is also the most thrilling story in the series by Ms. Adams as the romance heats up fast as does the trouble, they are trying to get the town ready for. From page one to the end you can’t put this put down. It is really good and I would give it more than five stars if I could since it really had me hooked it was that good. I received this the author as a beta reader and I am doing this review because I loved this story and wasn’t asked to do that but I felt really moved by this story to do a review. It is my honest opinion.
Candice is the sixth book in the Seven Sisters series and might just be my favorite thus far. Candice’s gift, as we have learned from previous books in this series, is being able to predict the weather. And boy does she ever!! You’re going to have to read it to find out. While Candice is a stand alone book you are going to want to start at the beginning so that you have all the back stories.
Ok, a bit too cute for me. I love the series, but finally figured out why the sisters segment isn't working for me. This is supposed to take place in the 80s. It reads as if this family lived in another time, before the 60s, before the 70s. People getting engaged after a few kisses? Please. I was teaching sex ed in the 70s. I love romance, but this is more than I can believe. Maybe in a different universe? Ms. Adams has and can do better.
I chose the full five star rating as in my humble opinion Book 6 is by far the best of the books so far. It did seem to get off to a rather slow start but as the story progressed it became quite exciting and fascinating, a spellbinder, one you just couldn't stop until the outcome was certain. This book has all the elements, love, faith, emergencies that no one could anticipate and a town full of people who pulled together.
Candice is next to the youngest sister. Her gift is predicting the weather. After days of rain in a normally dry town the damn might not hold. When her brother in law's brother comes to town she realizes he is more than a friend.. A great series. Sadly only one more sister left.
I really liked the books about the seven brothers. When I came across books about their seven cousin's that are girl's. I knew that I would want to read them also. They are not as in depth as the books about the seven brothers. The are still very good books to read. I have last one yet to read. I know that I will enjoy that book also.
Meet Candace, who has a very special gift. Then meet Greg, who may or may not be boyfriend material. Throw in the small town facing a disaster. Have to read to find out if town survives and if Greg is more than just a friend.
Why do these characters run through the stories so fast? Slow down and enjoy the story. Candice thinks that her "gift" isn't as great as her Sisters until it is.... whoa! Watch out!
Sisters with special powers try to help divert a disaster headed for their home town. Candice is becoming overwhelmed with where to live, finding the right job, and falling in love.
Wow how exciting this book is! Candace and Greg Burton bring out the best in each other. When there is an emergency threatening the town the family pulls together to help.
Greg and Candice- Weather teller I enjoyed reading this captivating story that is well written and has strong characters. Their story has a good and complete HEA.
