Svaka pjesma započinje činom promatranja, subjektivnim kadrom, doslovno riječju 'promatra'. Pogled se pritom ne zaustavlja na organom vida spoznatljivim prostorima. Promatra se naravno život, a autorov izbor onoga što promatrač vidi kreira svijet koji, koliko god bio intiman i subjektivan, vrlo lako postaje i naš. Čak i kad je riječ o vremenu i prostoru u kojem nismo živjeli, Zajecove pjesme izglobljenom naracijom odašilju semantičke i emocionalne signale koje prepoznajemo kao vlastite.
Katolička krivnja je duboko intimno poetsko svjedočanstvo, ali, istovremeno, uz nenametljiv, 'čist' stil ujednačenoga rukopisa, najbolja preporuka za buduće čitatelje upravo je ova univerzalnost iskustva, u životu u koji smo bačeni, a tek nam je otkriti da solidarnost je svojim tvrdim slovima / upisana u same temelje ovoga svijeta.
Tomislav Zajec was born in 1972 in Zagreb where he received his B.A. at the Academy of Dramatic Arts. He has published two novels and three collections of poems to date; he is also the author of six plays, four of which have been produced in theatres in Croatia and abroad. He is the winner of four poetry awards and three awards for dramatic literature.
