Seeking a missing child takes Gotrek Gurnisson, and his reluctant companion Maleneth, deep into the tainted catacombs beneath Hammerhal Ghyra. Danger awaits!
READ IT BECAUSE It's a Gotrek tale told from Maleneth's perspective and gives some fascinating insights into her character, motivations and goals.
THE STORY When a child goes missing from Hammerhal Ghyra, Gotrek Gurnisson, recovering from an epic drinking binge (and some nasty poisoning) volunteers to enter the nearby catacombs and find him – especially since his mother claims he was taken by a ghost. Venturing into the darkness with his reluctant aelven companion Maleneth. But even the vaunted Stormcast Eternals were unable to cleanse this labyrinth of the taint that infects it, and what awaits the adventurers below will test them to their limits.

It's quite an entertaining short novella about everyone's favourite Dwarf (I know I know he's a Duardin) and his assassin assistant who wants him dead SO BAD. Good read.
A sequel of sorts to Realmslayer, in which Gotrek Gurnisson embark on a perilous quest into the tunnels under Hammerhal Ghyra in search of a lost child. Despite being somewhat worse for wear after a heavy night, when Gotrek hears of a fearsome spirit said to haunt the catacombs he immediately joins the search alongside a party of humans, dragging Maleneth along for the ride.
There’s all the usual hallmarks of a Gotrek (with or without Felix) story, from dark and creepy locations to a belligerent Gotrek throwing himself into danger, not to mention a somewhat unwilling companion offering commentary on events as they take place. It’s an excellent continuation of Gotrek’s saga, and a satisfying story in its own right.
Despite my better judgement, I think I'm becoming a Gotrek fan. Is this what I've been missing these years I've avoided reading Gotrek and Felix?
If Realmslayer left you wanting even more Gotrek, like it did me, then One, Untended does the job of tiding you over until the next major release hits the shelves. I recommend it.
It’s a good short Gotrek story with a cool fight scene with Skaven. But I wanted more, came for the Skaven left with one fight scene. If you’re looking for a Skaven story look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a Gotrek adventure you’ve found one.
While I haven’t read much of Gotrek Gurnisson’s Warhammer: Age of Sigmar adventures, I did like this short story that sees him and his Aelven Assassin companion search for a missing child in the catacombs of Hammerhal Ghyra. As with the other Age of Sigmar Gotrek stories that I’ve read Maleneth Witchblade, the Slayer’s aelf assassin companion, is my favourite character as she is both funny and a talented fighter. There is also a brief mention of what she was like as a child, which I liked. The action in the story is good, and while the plot is pretty basic it is well written. The main downside of this story is that the characters introduced for the story are underused.
