We’d escaped the castle, though not all of us made it out alive.
That should have been enough loss. But the Dark Sorcerer isn’t finished with us yet. He will hunt us relentlessly until he claims our magic and our lives… or until we find the way to stop him first.
It’s time to step into the powers that are mine for the taking. To end this once and for all. I’m finished being less than I can be. Time to shine.

Our magicians, sorcerers, firedrakes and ghosts have escaped the castle but there is much to be done to defeat the vicious Maurisse. Some of our crew stays to see what Simon will do but Isa, Elwin, Sir Lancelot and Nando head off to the Academy with Vlad and the others.
There is an explosion and theynruen to see that Simon has blown up the castle and it burns, explodes more and the fire grows until the entire castle is engulfed.
After watching the fire for a bit, our heroes turn to recommence their trip back to the Academy when they hear a familiar voice. That can't be Duke Maurisse can it?
Alas, it's true, it is Duke Maurisse so now we know he was not killed in the explosions or the fire.
He captures our siblings but today Isa finds her magic inside herself and the fun is just about ready to begin.
If you haven't started this series, now that it is coming to a conclusion, this would be an excellent time to purchase and read.
SUCH AWESOMENESS!!! I have to say this is one of the best stories I've read. Scenes, characters, location details to the evil beings of the known universe were so realistic I could almost see it. So many twists and turns that kept me captivated from the start. Surprises around every corner kept me frozen to my seat. Emotions, personalities, attitudes, was spot on for realism. I felt like I was dropped right in the middle of the excitement and wanted to make a stand with the main characters. Yeah, that got me no where. All the yelling at the characters didn't help either. I wasn't sure what to expected from this installment, but true to from, Lucia rocked it. I feel like I'm the one having the adventure. Lucia definitely nailed this creation down. She did an awesome job bringing this read to life. Excellent job Lucia.
The excitement is nonstop in this 12th part in the series. Many twists and turns in this story keep the reader glued to the pages, and living in anticipation for what will happen next. Everyone had escaped the horrible dungeon and were being treated for injuries. But this was the calm before the storm. As one group of students stayed behind to destroy the castle and dungeon, another group headed back to the academy to regroup. Unfortunately, Isa and Nando were caught in the middle as the evil sorcerer, Maurisse, appeared before them. They got themselves in a real pickle. How in the heck are they going to manage escaping now? Isa and Nando are on their own against the evil sorcerer, Maurisse. This is a must read if you have read any part in this series cause it would be a shame for you to miss out on what is to come. I highly recommend reading it.
In Magic Ignites, the 12th book in Lucia Ashta’s fantastic Magical Arts Academy series, we are approaching what will surely be the final battle. Things are getting serious for Isa, et. al., but - and this is crucial - Isa finally believes, accepts and is willing to grow into her powers and what she truly is. The Dark Sorcerer is in for much more than bargained for in this superb addition to the series. Once again a fantastic (and perfectly written) plot for the superb cast of characters crafted by the author. Totally exciting and totally fun. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
What these poor people go through, although I do say it was stupid for them all to go rescue Albacus. SPOILER ALERT: a magic draining dungeon. Plus a spell keeping ghosts in. And the magicians get so messed up they can't keep any thoughts clear. At least Isa can see & speak to ghosts, otherwise they'd never get out. Wouldn't you know Isa & Nando get kidnapped by Maurisse on the way home. That poor girl can never win. On to the next book, to see if she was able to escape.
I voluntarily review an ARC. This is the 12th book of the Magical Arts Academy series, the books should be read in order. They escaped the castle, but with some injuries and loss. Maurisse is weak and not a danger anymore after his castle was destroyed. Or isn't he? This is a great series and I can't wait for the final part.
Having escaped the castle one would think that things might settle down. Not in this series. The team splits in two, one group heading back to the Academy immediately to tend to the wounded and the other group staying behind to 'tidy' up the castle.
When Isa and Nando get separated from their group they find themselves confronted by the Dark Sorcerer.
These books where short and fast to read. I started them and couldn't put them down. I didn't get my reviews in because I didn't want to stop. So much goodness on these books. You are going to like every one of these characters.
I’m hoping for something truly spectacular in the last book. Everything has been leading up to this, but I feel like Isa has a very poor grasp on her powers. I hope to be proven wrong though.
This book is 9 - 13 of a 13 book series. I'm going to post this review to all 4 since it covers them all.
Well written books and a fun story ruined by being broken up into little pieces. Authors really need to stop wasting their time and our money trying to get us buy books that are not whole.
