What do you do when you feel God has abandoned you?
Nicki, Terri, and Ros are the Three Sisters Detective Agency. They only take impossible cases. These are usually poor people who have been unjustly convicted and are facing a death sentence or life without parole.
This calling was thrust upon them as children when they watched their own beloved father get snatched from behind his pulpit by an army of police, and later be convicted of a heinous crime they feel he couldn’t possibly have committed.
Many years later, despite their best efforts Daddy is still in prison. So are they. Prisons of anger. Prisons of doubt. Prisons of betrayal. How could God let such a good man as Daddy go to prison? How could God forsake Daddy like that?
Each sister wrestles with the tormenting questions in her own way. Then one day, it happens again.
Eric M. Hill writes Christian Fiction That Grips The Soul. His spiritual warfare thrillers are acclaimed by readers for their can’t-put-the-book-down suspense, nonstop action, emphasis on the power of prayer, and illumination of Biblical truths.
The author presents a fascinating story of three strong women with exceptional qualities, brains, and confidence. This page-turner, with its diverse characters, great dialogue, and unique settings, keeps you guessing from start to finish with sudden twists and turns, exposing some secrets and lies, betrayal, a flawed justice system, police corruption, deceit, revenge, greed, manipulation, abuse of power, money and influence and justifying elicit behaviors as acceptable, slowly building up to a twist of a turn ending, reminding us that there will be times when our faith will be tested. Whether religious or not, you will love reading this engaging story.
It wasn’t what I expected. I thought it would be an easy, low key, God-is-good-life -is-great kind of religious read. Instead there was action and drama, love and loss. Some parts are disturbing and hard to witness. The sisters are human and flawed ,and struggle with faith like the rest of the world. Some of the struggles they face make you take a look at your own relationship with God. It’s not a perfect, happy ending kind of story but it does grab hold of you and makes you want to read until the very end.
I don’t often give 5 stars, but this is one of the best books I’ve read. There is action, humor, and sadness. This book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I absolutely loved the characters they are so realistic, faith is a growing process we all go through where we sometimes wavier back and forward as we grow and there are times when our faith will leave us mad or blaming God, but most people get over it. I would recommend this book.
I’ve read all books from this author and this book is another great read. There were a couple of times I rushed through the chapters but that’s only because I thought I read the sections before. Mr Hill does a great job weaving the characters together, breaking up the stories and bringing it all together for an emotional read. Although some of the topics can be triggering and heartbreaking, it is a great read with the Word of God.
This is a unique Christian detective mystery. At first I really liked it and enjoyed the way Scripture and struggles were woven together. But, wow, the darkness in the story was definitely not what I needed to read right now. And the story got so twisty. It was all too much for me. But it sure started out really good.
What an awesome read! I didn’t know what to expect with a Christian Fiction suspense novel, but was drawn in from the beginning. Wow. Eric Hill rocked it once again! I’ve yet to be disappointed with any of his books! 5 stars & 2 thumbs wayyyy up!!!!
Man, I definitely will continue to look for books from this author. I'm not a suspense fan, but will be from now on in this author case. It was an amazing read, and I only put it down because I needed sleep. Phenomenal job
I loved the suspense and mystery but most of all I loved the spiritual reminders that God's always got us if we stop and listen to what He tells us...and when we don't.
This read was a different read for me. I enjoyed the sisters' relationships with one another. I loved the many twists and turns. I didn't enjoy the reason, but the end results were worth all the emotions I had about the situation. I will read the next book. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
