This volume was quite slow but it's okey i really love the story! The characters are really attaching but the one i love the most is Loïc plzzzz 😭 HE IS SOO CUTEEE!! Anyways i have nooo idea when the next volume will come out (if he eventually does come out...)

"Graineliers" is an interesting manga series that I initially picked up because of the book's sturdy, matte and course texture, and chose to buy because it sounded different. Some people, known as seed carriers, can bond with plants and take on their attributes, and seeds are used alongside bows and knives as weapons in an old style fantasy world with modern elements. To me, it's reminiscent of Full Metal, Attack on Titan No Regrets, and Trigun (because Vash and Knives are plants), and a few other titles in which organization A must beat organization B for X reason, although character H has a personal vendetta and, by now, the reader should know this formula and that both main characters are screwed when they're forced apart into opposing groups. Despite the tried and true formula, I've enjoyed the first three books and look forward to vol 4. I cared more in vol 2, but now I'm not particularly attached to the characters or invested in either group, and I wouldn't put this title high on my must have list, but I do enjoy it, the art is good, the story is interesting and paced well (although I do agree with others that it is a tad slow, I think the development will pay off), and I'm curious about the biological/agricultural aspect. Something about this series also reminds me of Trinity Blood, but I don't know why.

The premise of this manga is surely pretty out there but it's so well built world and system it's interesting. There's also plenty of (big bad) government versus rebels politics and the two friends thrown into separate sides, which is tried and true setting/trope but it makes a good story, so why not use it. And mixed with that imaginative plant powers element, I find this enjoyable read.

Volumes come out super slowly though and the story is quite slow burn so I can see why some people don't have patience for it. I don't mind slow burn story but I definitely needed a moment to remember what happened in the previous volumes and who was who. It doesn't help many characters look very similar. Very pretty but similar. Art is delicate and I do like it a lot though.

Even though there are people on two sides against each other, many of them have their own sides/opinions too and there's probably many twists coming for them. I'm looking forward to learn more about the characters and see what happens. I like the both main guys and while I first though Nicholas is annoying, he looks like interesting player in the story. The grumpy knife-throwing ace Roger already showed there's more to him than just angry side-eyed looks toward Abel.

This series is not for everybody maybe but I like it!

Teil 1-3

Ich mag die Luca und Abel. Sie sind zwei sehr angenehme Charaktere, die sich hier einer Entwicklung stellen, die sie nicht vorhersehen konnten.
Der Zeichenstil ist durchwachsenen, denn sobald die Pflanzen ins Spiel kommen, wird es wirr. Sonst sind die Zeichnungen schön klar. Die gefallen mir sehr. Die Thematik der Story ist irre interessant. Ich habe zuvor auch derartiges noch nicht gelesen.
Leider habe ich hier noch Null Plan, wo die Reise hingehen wird.
Da der letzte Teil 2019 veröffentlicht wurde, dachte ich, es wäre eine Trilogie. Aber so, hänge ich ganz schön in der Luft.
Trotzdem wurde ich gut unterhalten.

The story is still on the slow side. This volume focus on Abel this time around. The young man must prove himself to INSECTE and show he is not a spy.
Lucas have to make a deal with Lord Nicholas, not with much choice. His first order is to illuminate INSECTE, the rebel group.
Not sure when things will start to finally moves in this series. Since the volumes publication in English is so far apart, I had to go check my review of the previous volume to remember what happen since this is not exactly memorable.

After being separated from Abel, Luca finds himself in the clutches of the Nicholas, a government seed analyst tasked with finding individuals with the capabilities of obtaining powers from ingesting rare types of seeds. Soon, Abel escapes from his government-sanctioned work, in the hopes to find his lifelong friend and rescue Luca from receiving the same fate as other seed carriers. As this volume was heavier on the text and story development, it required the urgency of the previous volumes. Good instalment.

Das Worldbuilding ist ganz cool, wie ich finde. Allerdings ist der Story Verlauf, besondern in Bezug auf den sich anbahnenden Hauptkonflikt ziemlich standard. Da mir die Charaktere nach wie vor nicht so viel geben, mangelt es mir am Mitfiebern.
Die Reihe läuft aber eh sehr langsam, sodass mir genug Zeit bleibt, um zu überlegen, ob ich weiterlesen möchte.

Once I made the mental switch to 'this is a talky book', I fell into it more. It's a bit too much talk (with really large dialogue boxes) but the story is different enough that I'm intrigued. It looks like the mangaka has put this series on indefinite hiatus though so we may never get to read more.

This was an okay volume but things are still progressing pretty slowly. However, I can see how Luca and Abel are eventually going to be pitted against each other, which will definitely bring the drama.

The plot is pretty confusing, but the art style really is pretty.

The plot is pretty predictable, but the book leaves off at a cliffhanger and with a lot of intrigue. This seems to be the last book translated to English, but I would keep reading it if I could!
