Step into an original fairy tale world full of romance and adventure. This collection includes the final two full-length Eldentimber novels and a bonus Eldentimber novella. Rosie of An Eldentimber Novella There was once a prince who fell in love with a gypsy. It didn't end well… Audette of Brookraven, Book Four Prince Irving of Primewood has finally met his match. Unfortunately, she wants nothing to do with him. Elodie of the Sea, Book Five He's a king who gave up on love. She's a girl with no memory. An entire ocean is keeping them apart.
Shari L. Tapscott writes young adult fantasy and humorous contemporary fiction. When she's not writing or reading, she enjoys gardening, making soap, and pretending she can sing.
She loves white chocolate mochas, furry animals, spending time with her family, and characters who refuse to behave.
Tapscott lives in western Colorado with her husband, son, daughter, and two very spoiled Saint Bernards.
I'm not sure why, but this story I came to and put down and came back to and put down. This is the second time I'm reading this series and for some reason this story just didn't click with me this time, until at least 50% of the way through.
I love Bran, he is such a wonderful character. He hasn't played a strong part in any of the other stories except for being Dristan's twin and loving to sail. Now, he is being crowned King of Triblu (or Tribleu maybe) and he isn't ready. Adding to the stress is his parents proclamation that by a certain time he will announce the woman he will marry! And there isn't a single woman he wants to tie his life with - until he finds Elodie washed ashore near the cabin that he is going to take refuge in for a week before his coronation.
Elodie can't remember anything about her own life before washing ashore (of course we know because the story gave us a peek into her life before she meets the gimmly). Bran figures out that she is a mermaid, but even that surprises her. Bran feels responsible for her, but the ring on her finger keeps him from wanting to take his feelings in the direction that they are wanting to drag him.
I have loved the Eldentimber books! It's been fun reading about characters all over Elden. I love the characters, the plot, and the setting. So fun! They are hopeful and heartwarming while still having intense and dark moments. I think the description of "original fairytales" is fitting.
Same thing as my review for the other collection. These characters work as spoiled princesses but they don't make sense when they're supposed to have had any life experience or hardships. I like the romances and I'm just ignoring the bigger world plot.
