I find it hard to read non-fictions, particularly the self-help ones. I doze off. However, this year I had planned to read only non-fictions. I wanted to put on some efforts and find what I have been missing. I signed up for an online book club on LinkedIn. And this was the book of the month.
I ain't lying, I was alien to the word 'stoic' and 'stoicism', when I had begun this book. The first half of the book was mostly the history and ideals of 'stoicism', and the scepticism kept on coming back, again and again. But its a short book, I wasn't going to give up on the first book I picked this year. By second half, I was already beginning to like it. The practical aspects of 'stoicism' got me interested. I could feel what an impact could stoicism have in my life. By the end of the book, the ideas kept me thinking.
