I am very excited and proud to present my new book, "Fireflies", now available on Kindle and in paperback. The inspirations for "Fireflies" are my own adolescence, Joe Dante films, and the pop culture of the early 1980s. I really hope you enjoy it.

Having read previous works of the author I was looking forward to this new James J. Caterino book. I really enjoyed this story of an adolescent girl named Emma whose life is thrown upside down by a family tragedy. Things seem hopeless until she has an encounter with a group of fantastic creatures, the "fireflies" of the story.

In many ways this serves as a nice companion piece to the author's excellent "Watch the Skies", but where as that book was epic and far reaching scope, this is a very intimate story. If "Watch the Skies" was Caterino's "Close Encounters", then one might see "Fireflies" as his "E.T.". It's an amazing story, beautifully written, with wonderful, vivid characters. This is YA/teen fiction at its absolute best, and an imaginative entertaining story that anyone can enjoy.

Plus there is a bonus short story in the book, "Rollercoaster", a very exciting piece of action writing.

Outstanding science fiction/fantasy story set in the early 1980's. Brimming with pop culture references and filled with wonderful characters, especially the lead character Emma. Very well written and highly imaginative. The bonus short story included in the book, "Rollercoaster", is equally as good.
