Spin's death approaches, and she asks her crew to go after the cure that will remove her life cap and give her all the benefits of being human. That means going to the Geist System, which is about to become the most prized looting target in the galaxy. Governments, raiders and corporations alike are ready to go to war over the advanced technology there, and Spin has to lead her people straight into the middle where she's unsure of what other obstacles the mad artificial intelligences have left for them.

Excellent conclusion to this trilogy. I suspect they will be more of the chose core team's story in the future. This leads right into broadcast 12 (which I read first by mistake) and provides so much extra detail for certain threads within that story.
I love how the author is using these spinoff stories to add background and depth to his universe which don't require being read, yet immensely enrich the main story of they are.
If you've read any of the series' of Spinward Fringe tales then definitely keep going and include this one. If you haven't started, treat yourself to the free copy of broadcast 0 Origins and see if you aren't hooked.
Hmmm. what to say. I didn't like this as much as I've liked some of the straight up Spinward Fringe books. It was worth reading, it is a bit more grizzly, probably by design, a bit darker in a lot of ways. I felt that there were a couple of weird loose ends (Skylar and Gavin) that seemed like they didn't add a lot to the story. And it feels like this side series will continue with Spin and her crew. I did find that the editing wasn't as good as previous books by the author, it seemed like I ran into several places where the wrong word was used.
All in all a decent read, but not, I think, on caliber with some of the other Spinward Fringe novels.
I read Savage Stars and the two other books of this series because the author recommended it before reading Spinward Fringe 12: Invasion. New characters, a new ship, a new story, but in the same universe as Spinward Fringe, in the same style. Still action packed and full of science and technology we wouldn’t dream about, sci-fi that terrifies and makes us dream at the same time.
Well both of these book series interlock brilliantly and I enjoyed reading both together. I just don't want them to end and hope that there are still many more books to come in the series. I'm just about to start reading book 13 of Spinward Fringe. Randolph Lalonde is such a good writer I hope that there are still many books to come.
The Chaos Code series is great on its own, but to find that it's related to the Spinward Fringe series was a special surprise. I hope the two of them come together one day.
This intertwines the Spin bases series with the Haven line well instead of a staight merging it adds new facets an information to both an creates a path for Spin to go on her own path. Solid storytelling for a space opera fan.
OK, disregard my opinion on Chaos Core Book 2. I didn't realize there was a book 3. Now I totally get why I should read this before going on to Spinward Fringe #12. I am looking forward to more adventures. And hoping that no more of the main characters die. :(
Five stars for this series but could have deducted half a star for the many typos and lack of proof reading (that I, or someone else would have been happy to assist with.) But it was a grand tale!
I have read the entire series which only leaves me with wanting more. Great series and Mr. Malone is brilliant in his writing. May there be many more adventures to come.
Great read with great related characters. Now to find and read the spinward series it is intertwined with. Hopefully there will be more from Spin and her crew soon Col
