THERE IS POWER IN CHOICE

Wow, new author, new book, new series, and YES, I am hooked. Did it get hot in here? The story is a steamy contemporary Highland romance with plenty of mystery, suspense, secrets, action, adventure, and erotic chemistry. Throw in one very dominant and controlling Highlander, Dr. Ian McLennan, Laird of Glen Torridon, and an innocent, out-of-control American lass, Ailsa McKenzie and together watch the fireworks begin.

Ailsa has secretly gone to Scotland with the intent of finding the perfect and private venue for a high profile wedding. She is still trying to save face with her employer after the disastrous event four months ago being leaked to the paparazzi. Someone is tailing her, and in her course of evasion, she will get off track, in the midst of a storm and crash—and that is how she will arrive at Glen Torridon, the estate of Ian McLennan.

When Ian’s man, Alec finds Ailsa and her totaled car, she is injured, unconscious and placed in the medical care of Dr. McLennan. Ian hasn’t practiced medicine for years but has an active license. Now he must tend to his patient who has cuts and a concussion and is closed mouth about everything.

The story will have Ian’s dominance bring out the submissive side of Ailsa, a side she never has acknowledged since she is determined to be a self-sufficient female, not relying on anyone, much less a man. When he questions her, she can see a storm brewing in his eyes, and he knows she isn’t telling the complete truth. The story will be unequal power exchange, with medical play, mild age-play, D/s, and control. Ian does not give in to the D/s aspect until she verbally agrees to give him control and accept his dominance and discipline. The medical is for her health, and that is something he won’t allow her to control and risk anything being missed.

“In a deep, secret place, she wanted Ian to spank her and take her beyond her will and beyond thought to a place where she no longer needed to be in control She was confused that a man who had been so gentle to her would want to spank her, yet she craved his domination.”

“This is about so much more than sex, Ailsa, but sex can also be a very satisfying part of it. However, I will never touch you in that way unless you want me to. You need never worry about that. This would have to be consensual, though, and, if at any time, you want to stop, you need to let me know. I will provide you with a place where you have no worries and no concerns. I will be head of the household, a father figure, teacher, friend, maybe even a lover, and I will provide you with structure and guidance.”

Ailsa is someone who doesn’t think everything through as completely as she should and puts herself in jeopardy—hence the automobile accident and several other incidences. While she has had a rough life since she was born, she is a fighter, but now she has someone in her corner that wants to take some of the burdens off of her, but can she trust him with her body, heart, and soul?

“You act without thinking of the consequences. You think you are in control, but someone who is responsible for their actions thinks before they do something. You rush in and act on impulse and emotion.”

“Ailsa, this is about surrender. I know you feel like you need to always be in control, lass, but I need you to trust me. I’m not trying to humiliate you. I’m trying to remind you that surrendering your control to me is a part of our agreement and relationship. If you can surrender and trust me enough to do this, it will show me you trust me to take care of you.”

I can’t wait to read the next story in this series. While at time Ian seems to be harsh, he has his reasons, and they do make a difference. He wants to keep Ailsa safe, and she has cracked the hard shell that has held his heart prisoner for years. If anyone needed someone to champion for them, it is Ailsa, she is a fighter and has proven she is determined, but at what cost to her personal life? There is more than succeeding in work, you need to have found happiness in your personal life, and with Ian’s dominance, she is learning how submission is empowering.

The Laird's Command is a sexy and so sweet novella. Ailsa is an innocent, but untrusting American who gets lost and confused while in Scotland. Thank goodness she is found by Dominant Ian. Wow, Ian, sexy with a capital "S." Being a Dominant, Ian wants to help Ailsa and also correct her when needed.
Super sexy novella. Grab this one.

I enjoyed the first book in The Glen Torridon series. This is the first book I have read from this author and look forward to seeing what else she will write. The Laird's Command was well written and had characters that were interesting and entertaining with great interaction between them. The storyline was filled with mystery, suspense, action, and adventure, while also including domestic discipline, mild age play, and explicit sex and spanking. Ian is handsome, protective, dominant, and controlling but can also be a little harsh. Alisa is an American wedding planner who is independent and determined to make a name for herself. Their chemistry sparks and the emotions run away at times, but the story keeps the reader interested from start to finish. I enjoyed this book and recommend you giving this series a try. Ailsa McKenzie Independent, career minded, regains consciousness in Ian McLennan care
Ailsa had been searching for an idyllic location for a wedding ceremony and celebratory meal for a celebrities that wanted secrecy and privacy and this was her speciality. However, as she begins her hunt, she realises that she is being chased by a truck with two unknown men inside, she begins turning into unknown lane soon she become lost and frightened, then a storm hits with visibility almost at nil she suddenly looses control of the vehicle hitting a tree.
Ian McLennan, Laird of Torridon is horrified when he finds the crashed car with the unconscious woman inside, he takes her to his home and cares for her injuries, he is a trained doctor so is able to ensure that she is going to recover, in time.
Ian is surprised to discover that the young woman is an innocent who appears to have had a hard upbringing, she has no family and is very self-reliant, he finds himself drawn to her and wants to care for her, love her, protect her a feeling he has not felt since, well forever…
This wonderfully sweet story has so many difficult painful circumstances both Ian and Ailsa have gone through during their life, I an is a Dom, he like to protect and nurture and Ailsa has grown up without love or care and she finds Ian awakening feelings she really doesn’t understand.

The Laird’s Command is a contemporary romance set in Scotland. Ailsa knows she’s on thin ice with her job, so she travels by herself to Scotland to scout for the perfect location for her clients’ wedding. Unfortunately, she wasn’t paying attention to the fact that a storm was brewing, and after being chased, Ailsa crashes her vehicle. Ian finds her, luckily, and is able to be the doctor she needs. His dominant ways spark an interest in Ailsa, and he wants to take care of her in all ways. But Ailsa has many walls around her emotions, and when Ian loses her trust, will he be able to win her love?

Wow, I absolutely loved reading this book! I was drawn into the characters with their chemistry and events that drew them closer together. I loved Ailsa, as all she wanted was to be strong, independent, and not need anyone to be successful. Ian was dominant and stern at times, but I really loved how much he wanted to care for Ailsa and keep her safe. He definitely had his work cut out for him when he set his sights on Ailsa, with earning her trust and trying for her love, and I was completely thrilled with how the ending played out. There was enough drama throwing them together and yet tearing them apart and once I started this book, I could barely put it down! I enjoyed this author and as it’s book one in the Glen Torridon series, I look forward to reading more from both Ms. Brown and in this series!

This is a easy to read sweet story of one couples journey into
a domestic discipline relationship. How one young women
fought her naturally submissive nature to eventually find peace.
What drove Ailsa to search out the perfect venue for her clients
who expected privacy above all else. Her caree as a wedding planner
is in jeopardy, this sees Ailsa out on her own in the Scottish Highlands
during a storm.Who is this young American lass rescued by the now
non-practicing,Doctor Ian McLennan.Ian has suppressed his feelings
for years but they surface the moment he rescues Ailsa..What was Ailsa
doing driving on her own, what was she hiding.Stranded together for
two weeks was the perfect opportunity to find out if they had a chance
for a relationship but before this occurs,Ailsa fled back to New York. The
last thing Ailsa expected was for Ian to show up on her doorstep to claim
her for thimself.Ailsa fought his dominantion but had a deep desire for Ian
to spank her and claim her.

I was entranced by this story,it was smooth, cohesive and entertaining. It
was told from the point of view of both characters with mystery right up
to the last page.A simple concept but what a ride it was following Ailsa
and Ian on their journey through the weight of emotions they both felt.

Take a trip to Scotland as you read about a Dominant Doctor who happens to be a Laird, finding an independent stubborn city girl in need of his expertise and care. Ailsa has made it a rule to never rely, trust or get close to anyone finds herself being taken care of by an Alpha-male Laird insisting she is going nowhere and is under his care after he found her in her wrecked car bleeding and helpless in a snowstorm. As soon as he sees Ailsa a primal need to care for her in every way possible, is awakened, and after she awakens he realizes that if anyone is in need of a caretaker it is this little lass. It doesn’t hurt that he is a doctor. Finley Brown’s book is full of climaxes it has a bit of mystery, danger, action, and character power-struggles throughout. Ailsa has a fowl mouth, a fiery temper and a habit of placing herself in (life or death) danger, and Ian has a course of action to keep her well and correct her behavior that comes with being a dominant doctor. Ian has the cure for almost all of her unhealthy ways, but will she allow him to treat her, and can she give him something she has given no-one else... her trust?

A really enjoyable short novel about two people who meet because of an accident, and gradually fall in love. Ailsa an American event planner visiting Scotland. She is really withdrawn and afraid of the world; Ian is a worldly Scotsman living in his own castle.
As she recovers in his castle from the accident, she gradually falls in love with him and experiences his desire to be the head of household, with the resultant spankings and other punishments. There are a number of close calls and problems along the way, but they are both interesting characters who are well described, and the story moves quickly to a happy conclusion.

As a first book in a new series, this is a wonderful entry. It sets the tone, introduces characters and gives you an idea of what you can expect in future books, all while providing a nice story. This is the first book by this author I have read but it reminded me greatly of the Dungeon Fantasy Club series by Anya Summers, and while I think that is a superior read, this is definitely an enjoyable way to file some time. It's not overly long, so it's easy to great through without becoming bogged down. My only dislike is that the Dom expected trust but didn't seem to eager to give it in return.

I really enjoyed this new start to a series. The characters were likeable and the author did a good job of slowly revealing their pasts. The romance was sweet with lots of heat thrown in. I loved the setting and the author did a really good job of bringing it to life with both the Scottish castle and the surrounding lands. I'm always excited to read from a new author, and I would consider this a successful first book. I definitely look forward to reading more from her in the future.

A short but well written story with nice storyline and plot. Likeable characters who are well defined and develops nicely through the story.
A story about two people that ends up saving each other in different ways. She is a lost American in Scotland where the dominant but very sexy Laird finds her and learns her a lot about being with a dominant. It is a captivating story that has well described scenes that keeps the reader on the edge. They play and attraction between the main characters are well described.

Go to Scotland on business, crash your car and meet up with a Laird all in one day. Ailsa life has taken a bit of tumble and she is hoping to get it back on track. What she did not realize that things were going to be changing for her and his name is Ian. This quick book has a bit of drama and romance in it. This delightful story was fun to read and I spent a very enjoyable time doing that. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

I really enjoyed this book. Ian is quite dominant and a bit high-handed but I love how he wants to take care of Ailsa from the very beginning. I felt for Ailsa because she has never had anyone care for her even in childhood and she has built a huge protective wall around herself to keep from being hurt. Ian is able to slowly chip away her walls of defense. It is the beginning of a very erotic relationship. I really enjoyed this story. I voluntarily reviewed an copy of this book.

Alisa has an accident while driving on the road. Ian, a physician, rescues her and takes her to his home for her recovery. He feels drawn to the young woman right from the beginning and Alisa feels the same. They enter into a domestic discipline relationship though Alisa is very reluctant to let Ian spank her in the beginning.

Finley Brown is a new author for me. I really liked the story, the storytelling and look forward to read more books of this new series.

The publisher wasn't kidding about the note of the book containing elements of power exchange. If you like books like that, then this book is most definitely for you and it won't disappoint. It was a bit dark at the beginning and lightened up a little at the end, but if that makes you just a little uncomfortable, keep going. It gets really good; the ending is fantastic and such a surprise.

This was an interesting book. The characters were well written and had deep and emotional back stories. Their interactions were intense and in some cases extreme. This story had elements that were different from what I usually enjoy, which unfortunately detracted from my overall experience with this book.

Wow! What a wonderful first book! I loved the story of Ailsa and Ian. Ailsa has had a difficult life and she is running scared when she has her accident in
Scotland. Ian finds her and rescues her. They both feel something for each other, but Ailsa has a hard time trusting. Eventually they start to trust each other and become close. There is a HEA. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

This is the 1st book in this series and the 1st book I have read by this author. I enjoyed this story to the extent that I will be looking for more books from this author. The characters are captivating and interesting. I felt like that the setting is so vivid that I could feel the dampness of Scotland. The book is a little rushed in the end but it didn't take away from the overall story.

I was delighted to see a new author I had not seen before and try the first in a new series and I was not disappointed. Ailsa is a young American event planner working in the UK for a very exclusive company acting for high profile celebrity clients and she has recently been in difficulties with her employers when one of her planned events was invaded by paparazzi. Because she is trying to keep the wedding she is now planning under wraps she takes herself off to Scotland in secret to canvass venues which are discreet and private. Whilst driving in the Highlands a storm begins and she gets the feeling that she is being followed so in an attempt to lose the follower she drives very fast and erratically losing her way and eventually during a heavy snow storm losing control of the car, colliding with a tree and then losing consciousness. When she awakens she finds herself in bed and being taken care of by Dr Ian McKlellen the Laird of Glen Torridon, which turns out to be an honest to goodness castle. Ian and Ailsa have chemistry but he is very dominant and needs to be in complete control and she is very independent and also needs to be in control, will they make it. This new story was a very entertaining read, it has all the elements of an erotic spanking romance and then some, it also has some mystery and some action and I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next one in the series.
