Whoever said opposites attract must have been talking about Kate Marlowe and Barrett Fox. Her life's work was bringing people together, and his was tearing them apart. The pretty wedding consultant and the sexy divorce lawyer should have hated each other on sight, and—well, they did. But from that first moment, when Cupid's arrow struck the unsuspecting Barrett—literally—there was something between them that just wouldn't go away.

There was no way it would work, of course. They both knew that. She was as romantic as they come, born to wear white lace and to carry a bouquet of roses with baby's breath, while he'd learned the hard way not to believe in love—or much of anything else.

It was impossible, completely impossible…wasn't it?

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun installment to the Bachelors and Bridesmaids Series. Kate is a wedding planner and she has planned all of the weddings for her friends leaving her to wonder how long she will be single. She's not looking for a relationship, and she enjoys her thriving business which keeps her very busy. She learns that her landlord is going to occupy the space below her office. Their first meeting does not go well and decide some distance will quell their reaction to each other. Barret is a divorce attorney who is cynical about marriage, so he is not buying the dream that Kate is selling.

Unfortunately for both of them, circumstances draw them together and soon their icy barrier begins to melt. They begin a friendship that feels easy, but knowing where each feels about "happily ever after" keeps a line in place where each stands behind. Their friendship is being tested with meddling family and friends and it prompts them to make a decision that will appease their fears.

Ofcourse this story has a "happily ever after" but it is so worth the read. Kate and Barret and their friends are people you want to hang out with and the banter is fun, too. Great addition to the series.

Freethy proves her versatility with every tale she pens. She can thrill with chillers, bewilder with mysteries and touch the heart with romance. Dreaming of You is a feel good story wrapped in an emotional whirlwind. Barrett and Kate are the best and worst of what love has to offer. She's a dreamer, who wears her heart on her sleeve. He's a realist, haunted by the heartaches of his past. They shouldn't make sense, but are a perfect fit of the heart. For stories packed with emotion and imaginatively stunning, turn to Barbara Freethy.

I absolutely loved this book and it was a great end to a fantastic series. Kate and Barrett, opposites on paper, and after their first disastrous meeting, it seemed they were too dissimilar to even like each other. But Cupid works in mysterious ways....in this case literally hitting Barrett with an arrow...and they begin to fall for each other...fighting it every step of the way. What makes Ms Freethy such an amazing author is that she writes such great characters, you really come to care for them and I’m so happy Kate got her Happy Ever After, Barrett was her perfect match

Dreaming of You by Barbara Freethy is part of a seven book series, but each book can be read as a standalone. It does not give away too much if you don’t read the books in order.

This book was a four star read for me because it did not have quite the same feel as the older ones did for me, but it was still enjoyable.

There were a lot of the same information about the other brides and their husbands that were seen in the other books, but to new readers this would be a good thing.

The pace was still fast paced for me like Freethy’s other books. It was a nice visit to this series since it had been awhile and I had still looked forward to this book for awhile.

This book was a four star read and I’d recommend this book if you are looking for a short, clean, sweet romance book to read on Valentine’s Day or anytime you need a pick me up.

Wow, nothing like getting off on the wrong foot, and being on opposite ends of your occupation. Kate was so sweet, helpful, went above and beyond not only with friends but her clients to make sure they have the best wedding experience possible. At first I didn’t know what to think of Barrett as he went off on Kate when the statute of Cupid fell in his office that he was going to renovate. I thought it was so funny that Kate made a joke and said that Cupid’s arrow pierced him. Sometimes when we protest too much that we don’t have feelings for someone, we really do. Of course when she found out he is a divorce attorney, I can understand why she doesn’t want him in the building. I think that Kate and Barrett really liked each other from the beginning. If was fun watching how they ended up together so many times. Barrett was so good to Kate’s grandparents. It made my heart melt. I thought Barrett’s mother was a snob, and hated how she treated Kate. I was glad to see Kate’s friends were so down to earth and showed Barrett what good friends can be like. I loved the book, and strongly encourage you to read it. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of the book.

This is the convulsion to the Bachelor and Bridesmaids series by Barbara Freethy.
Kate Marlowe friends have found their happy ever after.
Barrett Fox is a divorce lawyer
While both of these characters are a little jaded , they certainly belong together.
Fans of Barbara Freethy’s will enjoy this book and new readers will find out the magic that is Mrs Freethy’s !

This was a really sweet story between the romantic (but closed off) wedding planner and a cynical divorce lawyer. I loved their interactions, although the climax felt a little rushed. Overall, a lovely read and a nice end to the series!

A really sweet story with likeable, truly decent main characters. All nicely tied up in the end. The good and bad of family dynamics and underlying everlasting friendship made for an enjoyable read.

I absolutely loved Dreaming of You; it is an incredible opposites attract love story. Dreaming of You was a bittersweet book for me knowing that it is the seventh and final book in the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series. I loved every book in the series! I love that they series is based on the lives of eight women who met in their college freshman dorm, became best friends, and promised to be bridesmaids in one another’s weddings. Barbara Freethy has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. Dreaming of You did not disappoint, I could not put it down and I loved every page. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Dreaming of You is opposites attract love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments that cause me to sigh, say aww to myself with tears filling my eyes. Dreaming of You is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Dreaming of You is the story of divorce attorney Barrett Fox and Kate Marlow, wedding planner and owner of Romantic Affairs. Kate heads to the first-floor office in the Victorian home, where she rents the second floor to decide what to do with her six-foot tall Cupids, only to discover Barrett standing over one of the destroyed on the floor and Barrett holding Cupid’s arrow. Barrett angrily tells Kate that he is having the office remodeled starting on Monday, and she needs to find someplace else to store her Cupids. Since he is a divorce attorney, he wants the wallpaper in the hallway that they share to be changed, since he considers it inappropriate for his business. I love how Kate and Barrett keep running into each other. As Kate and Barrett spend more time together, things change between. Kate and Barrett share secrets and bittersweet stories with one another. I love that they were both so vulnerable and that they changed because of their love. Barrett opens up about his wedding, marriage and divorce to his first wife, Vanessa, and he doesn’t want that again. Kate believes with the right woman he could want it again; Barrett is not so sure. I loved that Dreaming of You is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Kate and Barrett are facing that need to be resolved. I love that there were multiple storylines: Kate’s commitment to creating one-of-a-kind weddings, Barrett’s view on big weddings, Barrett’s mother’s desire to find him a wife, but most importantly Kate and Barrett’s story. I am so glad that Kate finally got her man and her happily ever after that she so deserved, after planning the weddings for all her best friends. I loved the plot twists in Dreaming of You. I love all the little things that Barrett does for Kate, especially with helping her decide on a wedding venue for Candice Hunt’s wedding and keeping her grandfather company. I love how all the storylines get so beautifully resolved. My favorite part was Barrett’s grand gesture at Maggie’s and Jessica’s wedding. I love all the descriptions of the California area settings that Barbara Freethy detailed. My favorite part of Dreaming of You was the epilogue and how it went above and beyond the normal happily ever after, and that it took place sixteen months later. Dreaming of You is filled with the poignant and bittersweet moments in the story as well as the plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in Barbara Freethy's stories. I love the cast of characters in Dreaming of You and I am so sad that Dreaming of You is the final book in the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series. Who doesn’t love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? Reading Dreaming of You felt like a family reunion, because the reader was able to catch up with the other characters in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed Dreaming of You, who doesn’t love opposites attract love stories. Highly recommend this wonderfully written story.

This is the sweet, funny, and romantic story about Kate Marlow, who’s a wedding consultant, and Barrett Fox, a divorce lawyer. Kate has made it her mission in life to help every bride find her happily ever after. She’s always loved weddings and working with brides. Kate’s a true romantic. She rents space in a beautiful old Victorian house on the second floor that happens to be owned by the Fox family. Barrett Fox’s current office has water damage and he needs to move to another office space so he temporarily decides to move into the first floor of Kate’s building. He shows up earlier than Kate was expecting him to and he ends up getting struck by Cupids arrow! (Seriously). Needless to say, Barrett didn’t find it as funny as Kate did. Barrett is anything but romantic. With the example that his parents have set, he doesn’t have much faith in happily ever afters.

I really enjoyed watching the relationship between Kate and Barrett fall into place. Even though they are complete opposites, with Kate working to bring couples together and Barrett working to take them apart, somehow they find a way to make it work. As they spend more time together, Kate learns things about Barrett that let her see that he’s really not such a bad guy. And Kate shows Barrett that there’s nothing wrong with a little romance.

This was the final book in the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series and it was a great way to wrap it up! This book can be read as a standalone, but once you read one, you’ll want to read them all!

I have absolutely loved this series and this was the last book in the series and it was a great addition. This series has followed a group of college friends that made a pact that they would all be there for each other when they got married. Kate is the last of the group to fall in love and this is her story.

Kate is a wedding planner and she truly believes in the happily ever after. She owns her own company and rents out the second floor in a cute building. She is planning a double wedding for two of her college friends. She doesn't have time to find love and right now she is not even looking. However, she hears a lot of commotion in the downstairs office area and she goes to the first floor to see what is happening. There she meets Barrett and it isn't a great introduction. Actually, a lot of telling happens and that is the start of the it love story.

I enjoyed how these two free as enemies to friends to boyfiend/girlfriend to lovers and happily ever after. There is a HE A bit it takes overcoming many obstacles to get to that happily ever after. It was nice to see how the other couples are doing from the previous books in the series. Should you read the other books first.....check yeah because they are just as great as this one. Honestly, you can read this book and fully enjoy it without reading the others, but order all the books in the series because they are cute stories with a happy ending.

DREAMING OF YOU is the perfect ending to Barbara Freethy’s Bachelors and Bridesmaids series. Our heroine, Kate Marlowe, has planned the weddings of each of her six friends from college. She’s sure there will not be a wedding anytime soon for her.

But that’s not how it works in the world of Bachelors and Bridesmaids. Like her sisters of the heart, Kate finds love with Barrett Fox. (No, that’s not a spoiler… you wouldn’t read this book if you didn’t want an HEA, would you?)

A spoiler would be telling you any more about great journey that gets Kate and Barrett together, which I won't do! We also get to check in with all of our previous couples. Full disclosure: I had only read Kiss Me Forever, No. 1 in the series. But I quickly snatched up the other 5 books and read them in order before starting DREAMING OF YOU. You don’t have to do that, but it will add to the fun.

If you’re looking for a sweet romance (no bedroom scenes but great kisses), a quick read and delightful characters you wish were part of your own life, grab DREAMING OF YOU — and check out the rest of Bachelors and Bridesmaids.

Oh yes! What a way to end a series! This was one of my favorites of the bachelors and bridemaids books.

This is a total opposites attract love story. One is a wedding planner the other is a divorce attorney. How can these two have a happily ever after if one is there for the happiest day of your life and the other is there for one of the saddest days of your life.

Kate is a romantic at heart and hopes to have her happily ever after with the husband, kids, and white picket fence. She thinks she found him, however, he does not want any of that. He has been married once before and is not wanting to do that again. Or is he?

Barrett is a cynical and very apprehensive in relationships, well anything with any serious feelings getting involved. He was set on never getting married again, but then a conversation with Kate's grandfather and with him doing some internal reflections. He thinks that maybe he is what Kate needs, but once he figures this out, is it too late?

Kate and Barrett make a great couple and have a great relationship, even though there were a few bumps along the way.

ARC for honest review with no compensation. 4.5 stars

Dreaming Of You is book 7 in the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series by Barbara Freethy. If you haven’t read the other books in this series fret not as you will get caught up with the other couples too. Each book is a standalone but reading the others will create even more drama, laughter, tears and HEA’s!!

Kate Marlow is the last girl standing and looking to find what her other friends have found. She’s the one that brings people together, planning their wedding and making it all about the couples. When a new tenant moves into her building and she discovers he not only owns the building, he’s a divorce attorney and doesn’t believe in Happily Ever After....that is until the Cupid’s arrow strikes Barrett Fox literally (a cardboard cutout)...there is a chemistry between them that each can’t define but it continues to draw them together.

Will Barrett open his heart to find Kate is what has been missing in his life or will he push her away and keep his life lonely and cold??

DREAMING OF YOU
Kate, the last one still single of the tight knit friends of college. Now busy planning the weddings of Jessica and Maggie, a double wedding, and on Valentine day. Back at her office, informed of a new tenant will be down below on Monday, which was now filled with mannequins for a wedding. Hearing a crash she hurries downstairs, meeting the new tenant and owner
in a designer suit, covered in dust. He wasn’t pleased nor sense of humor with the cupid from one of them. Meeting Barrett again, he had been married, his ex was more into the planning of the big wedding then being married.
Now wanting wall paper going upstairs to her office removed, he feels it is inappropriate of happy days. When his clients come for divorce. He is turning her ordinary life upside down.
This was a delight to read, funny, I loved the plot. You got caught up in the magic of weddings. GivenARC for my voluntary review and my
honest opinion.

Being hit, literally, with a 6-foot-tall Cupid’s arrow is probably not the best way to begin a relationship. In the conclusion to the Bachelors & Bridesmaids saga by Barbara Freethy, this inauspicious beginning is the way divorce lawyer Barrett and wedding planner Kate meet.

Although they’re on opposite sides of the marriage/divorce issues, they still feel a spark when they see each other. Kate wants a forever love, and Barrett is just jaded enough to think there is no such thing.

Enter Kate’s best friends and their HEA’s. Add in Kate’s grandparents with their decades long love affair. Counter all that with Barrett’s multi-marriage parents and Kate’s no marriage parents and you’ll be wondering if these two can ever have the happily ever after they so deserve.

A wonderful conclusion to the Bachelors & Bridesmaids continuity, with a fitting wrap up of what’s going on with the other couples we’ve come to know in this fun series.

Dreaming of You is another wonderful and sweet addition to the Bachelors & Bridesmaids series and Ms. Freethy does another fantastic job. I flew through this novel.

Kate is a wedding planner and is in the midst of planning the last two weddings of her single group of friends, except for her. Barrett is a divorce attorney who has moved into the space below Kate's wedding planning office and literally runs into the Cupid's arrows that are stored in the empty space. Is it some cosmic joke, a divorce attorney and wedding planner in the same building?

Unfortunately, Barrett doesn't think he is cut out to be a husband or a father and knows that this is what Kate desires. Lucky for both of them, they have nosy friends that help them see the light but also maybe that Cupid's arrow really has power they did not realize?

If you are looking for a sweet, well-written addition to a series - this is it! You will not be disappointed in Dreaming of You.

What can a wedding planner & a divorce lawyer find in common? If it’s Kate & Barrett, an attraction to each other will have to be enough. Barrett has been married once & is determined he’ll never go through it again. Kate wants the entire package but only with the man she can see forever with. As they spend time together, it’s easy to see the differences but they are continually drawn to each other.

I loved this series. The women are as close as they were as college freshmen. They prove that they look out for each other & have each other’s backs. They are more like a group of sisters, rather than friends. Barnett comes across as a cynic but his attitude is one of more hurt than of bitterness. He just needed someone to knock him out of his rut. This was a great sweet, clean romance to close out the series.

Dreaming of You is a lovely conclusion to Barbara Freethy’s Bachelors & Bridesmaids series, pitting romantic wedding planner, Kate against cynical divorce lawyer, Barrett. These two have a spectacular meet cute and these two can’t seem to avoid being together...even if they aren’t dating. It is a wonderful journey that might bring them happiness if they only can overcome their initial impressions and intrinsic prejudices of each other. All Ms. Freethy’s books are well written and her fans know that once a reader starts one of her books, be it a sweet romance like this one, or one of her edgier suspense novels, it will be impossible to put down! I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. Most highly recommend.

I adored reading this book!
Dreaming of You is a sweet & charming story. Delightful characters & romance
make the perfect read.
Kate's feeling a little sad. She is the
one remaining friend, who is still single.
Kate, is informed that the new tenant downstairs, wants her 6ft Cupids
removed.
Barrett, has enough to deal with today,
then to be struck by Cupid's arrow.
Now, he's having to deal with his angry tenant. To say that Kate & Barrett's introduction did not go well, is an understatement.
Kate is a wedding planner, & Barrett is
a divorce attorney. She's a romantic,
he's a cynic. But, there's something
between Kate & Barrett, they can't explain.
It grabbed at my heartstrings, from the
very beginning!
A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!!

No one writes romance like Barbara Freethy. She takes the typical opposites attract story and makes it into something special. Kate is a wedding planner and a romantic at heart, she's also the last of her group of friends to find her happily ever after. Barrett is a cynical divorce lawyer who suffered an unhappy marriage and divorce...not a couple destined for love...right? Wrong! Barbara crafts a sweet, fun romance...complete with challenges...not the least of which is Barrett's stance on marriage. I confess this is the first of the series that I've read, but I enjoyed meeting Kate's friends and their significant others...I definitely will have to read the other books in the series. Thanks for another fantastic read Barbara Freethy!

If you’re lucky, you come out of college with a great group of friends who will be there for you always. Kate is part of a group of 8 and she’s a wedding planner. In fact, she’s planning a double wedding for friends 6 and 7. She loves her friends, loves her job, and isn’t really looking for Mr. Right at the moment. Her life is full. But Cupid’s arrow can strike at any time. And it did. Literally. Even though Barrett has sworn off love and weddings – he’s a divorce lawyer – he can’t seem to help himself with feelings for the frustrating wedding planner upstairs.

Sparks fly in book #7 of the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series. It’s sweet, flirty, and fun. And it’s a fast, easy read.

What a wonderful story of Kate and Barrett. She's a wedding planner that is working on the double wedding of 2 of her best friends from college. There's 8 of them and after these 2 marry she's the last single one. Enter Barrett, who is moves into the office downstairs with his law practice...divorce attorney. Oh and his family is also the owners of the building! Kate wants the happily ever after but Barrett plans to never marry again. His parents are divorced and have many marriages between them, Kate's never married but her grandparents have been married over 50 years so she has faith that long lasting love can happen. A fun story that will make you laugh and want to yell at both of them to figure it out! I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Kate Marlow is a wedding planner and total romantic. She is the last single woman in the group of friends who met in college and vowed to be there for each other on their respective wedding days. Kate has planned all of her friends’ weddings. She is beginning to think that she will be single forever.

Enter Barrett Fox, a handsome, sexy divorce lawyer who moves his office into her office building. Barrett has a failed marriage behind him and has no plans to marry again in the future.

Ms. Freethy’s latest book in the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series is another sweet love story. I hated to see this series end. I enjoyed reading it and recommend it to anyone who enjoys the romance genre.

A delightful end to an amazing batch of stories. Wedding planner meets divorce lawyer, aka mister anti marriage. We all know how this will end, but it is so much fun getting there. Good friends, unusual family relationships, and work all contribute to making this couple becoming a couple a challenge. Thanks to the author for providing a copy for my voluntary review. I have read many of the books in this series and it was wonderful being reminded of the various couples and catching up on their lives a little. If you haven't read any of them, after reading this one you will want to do so. This was a quick, one day read.

Book number 7 and the last book in the series. Bittersweet for sure as this was a fun loving series. The series of books are about best friends who are all bridesmaids in each other’s weddings. Book 7 is about Kate, who happens to be a wedding planner and Barrett, who is, go figure, a divorce lawyer. They both are tenants in the same office building. As the old saying goes opposites attract. This was a fun happy book, some tears, but mostly happiness. As usual Barbara’s books draw you in and doesn’t let go. I’m going to really miss this series. But never fear, Barbara will be back for more wonderful, exciting, loving books.

Barbara Freethy ‘s Bachelors & Bridesmaid Series has come to an end with the story Dreaming of You. The series centers around college friends that promise they will stay friends and be in each other’s wedding parties. The very first story Kiss Me Forever introduces the reader to the friend Andrea Blaine and Alexander Donovan. The story is heart warming and made me as a reader want to follow each story of the other friends. Dreaming of you brings us to the end of the stories . Kate Marlow and Barrett Fox have opposite opinions on important issues such as love and marriage but a spark is definitely ignited when they met and their journey in love was the perfect end to this series. I have never been disappointed by a Barbara Freethy story and this book was another winner. Thanks for going full circle with our Bridesmaids Series.

This was my first story of the bridesmaids series, but I really loved it. Now, I have to go back and read everyone else's stories! This is Kate and Barrett's story. Kate is the last one in a group of 8 college friends that hasn't found her soul mate. Barrett is a divorce attorney who hasn't had a good experience with love, already divorced actually. Their story is very sweet and fun. I enjoyed getting to know the characters. Barbara Freethy has a way of getting me sucked into a book right away and I don't want to put it down. I highly recommend this book and the series cuz I have a feeling the other stories will grab my attention right away, too. 🙂🙂🙂

I just finished reading Dreaming of You the 7th Book of Bachelor and Bridesmaids and it was a terrific ending to the Series. Kate and Barrett a wedding planner and a divorce Atty. start off on the wrong foot and it is a story about a couple that hasn't found real love until now. It's a fun read and you are going to really enjoy the way the two of them connect. It's a story about families, friends, and why they are afraid to take a chance on love. Barbara really makes you feel the characters that she writes about. It seems like you know them and if you don't you want to. This is a book you really want to read and when you are through you don't want it to end.

I like books that get my interest in the first few pages. Barbara Freethy does this in every book she writes. Dreaming of You starts off with a bang or rather a crash. Kate is a wedding planner and when her landlord, Barrett, moves his divorce law practice into the downstairs office one night he runs in to her 6 foot Cupid statues. What a way to start a wonderful love story. Opposites attract they say, although they might fight that attraction. I really enjoyed the Bachelors & Bridesmaids series and the conclusion was as good as the first book of the series.
