A new volume in the series and we meet White *snorts* and a boy/man named N *snorts again*, seriously, the names are always so weird for the main character(s)/rivals. We get to see battles, a gym battle that was so cool (those triplets were fire), some movie stuff, we learn more about White, we get to meet team Plasma (and their weird philosophy, yes I would call it that given how it is going with Pokemon who are abandoned or how Pokemon try to get back to their friends/owners). It was quite a fun volume to read and I love seeing various Pokemon in manga-edition.

But Bianca, just go away. GEEZ. Also that catchphrase of Black *rolls eyes*. Or that he has to get Munna to eat his dreams, LORD. Once was funny, now it is just like, boo, seriously?

I’ve always liked N, even though I know virtually nothing about his character. I love how much this fleshes him out. His sorrow and suffering. His dedication. Satoshi Yamamoto’s fluid drawings of N are amazing. This series continues to draw me in.

Yes! White makes her first appearance in this volume as well as N. I forgot how much Team Plasma makes me want to punch their smug faces, but this volume quickly reminded me haha.

As for the plot Black joins White’s talent agency to help pay back some of the damages he incurred while fighting a Gavantula (one of my FAVORITE Gen 5 Pokémon!!), Team Plasma, Ghetsis, and N reveal their agenda for people and Pokémon, and Cheren and Bianca finally catch up with Black. Plus, being on the Striaton Gym triple battle!

I love this region and am really looking forward to revisiting the story.

In this volume, Black finally meets White, a Pokémon talent agent from BW Agency, which specializes in training Pokémon for movies. This is an interesting twist, as it takes inspiration from Pokémon Musicals in the games, bringing a fresh perspective compared to the usual Pokémon Trainer journey.

Meanwhile, Team Plasma starts spreading their ideology about Pokémon liberation, which infuriates Black. This is where we start seeing some real character development in Black, as he becomes more serious in opposing Team Plasma’s philosophy.

However, one of the most unique (and kind of weird) aspects of Black’s character is how he uses his Munna to eat his dreams, allowing him to clear his mind and focus. It’s a pretty funny concept but also slightly unsettling—like, imagine needing a Pokémon to help you think straight! Haha.

Overall, this volume does a great job of expanding the story beyond just battles, introducing White’s unique role while deepening the conflict with Team Plasma. Black is still goofy, but at least we start seeing a more determined and serious side of him. Looking forward to what happens next!

No dejó mucho impacto.

We got to meet White in this one, I absolutely adore her personality. I fell in love with her, she is lovely.
We also got to meet N. The thing with him is, I understand his motives, and his feeling, but I don't understand his methods in getting his way. He says he listens, however I don't think he was until his own Pokemon got hurt.
Same with team plasma, I see where they're coming from, but using force is not the way to go.

We also had our first gym battle, which was a lot of fun. I really liked the trio.

Volume 2 introduced White and Team Plasma. I like the design of this story; it shows considerable promise. I only have 9 volumes (of 20-something). I may regret that.

It's cool to see Team Plasma and N in this detail. Overall the manga has been going at a reasonable pace with a deepening story.

Here, we continue on with Black's adventures. But, we are also joined by his friends, Cheren and Bianca as well, as the three face a gym battle together against a trio of trainers.
In what is a battle truly based upon friendship and teamwork, Black and friends manage to pull through in the last few seconds, when they find a small clue to pull their fainted Pokemon back into the battle.
But, soon, Black is back off on his journey with White, leaving his pals with communication devices but no number to contact him. So, they figure it's best to find him again.
Will Cheren and Bianca find Black and get his number?

Nett gemacht, aber auch im zweiten, jetzt doppelt so langen Band nicht viel abwechslunsgreicher als die Anime-Serie.
