If you're a fan of Scottish time travel, handsome highlanders, fierce heroines, romance, and magical adventure, you'll love Artair's Temptress, the fifth book of the epic and sweeping Highlander Fate series.
Stella Knight writes time travel romance and historical romance novels. She enjoys transporting readers to different times and places with vivid, nuanced heroes and heroines.
A great series and set to continue. Good story and likeable characters except of course the bad ones. This one had a feisty heroine with magic and a great hero. Can't wait for the next one which looks to be really good too.
This is an OK Scottish time-travel romance, and an OK addition to The Highlander Fate series. It was entertaining, but it was just too short to have enough character development. I wanted more backstory on both Artair and Diana.
I liked both Artair and Diana, but I wanted them to communicate better. Most of their issues were caused by a lack of communication, brought on partly by a fear of sharing their true selves. I liked that some of the supporting characters helped them get past that, and learn to talk to each other.
One thing that bothered me about this book is the historical mistakes. The men all wear kilts in 1390 Scotland, but they didn't actually start wearing kilts in Scotland until the 16th century. The characters also ride in carriages, which wasn't done in that time period, because the roads were too bad. Everyone rode horses, or traveled in small carts like farmers used -- carriages had not even been invented yet. I suspect the author may have included those two things because of popular movies (like Braveheart) -- but it isn't correct, just because Hollywood does it.
This one get 3.5 stars from me, rounded down to 3 stars.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
When you have read Niall’s Bride you might have wondered what happened with Artair and now the author solves this mystery with telling us his story.
As we came to love the meddling time travel supporter Kensa, she now needs her niece to help the stranded highlander. Artair had been sent forth into time upon Niall’s arrival. Stranded in an unknown time he needs to get back or risk dire consequences. In order to send him on his way Kensa seeks the help of Diana. But Diana left her fate a long time ago and denied all magic. It is ridiculous to her that she should be the only one capable of helping Artair.
Their first meeting goes not well, but she is so good-hearted to anyway agreeing to help him. The deal is to help him get back into his own time and for her to come back to hers right afterwards. But how can you be sure that you landed in the right time? Dutiful that Diana is, she decides to stay and ensure Artair is back in his time. These two are fighting an attraction and soon far more than that. This century is not safe, especially for someone with witchcraft. Artair promises to protect Diana while she practices her magical abilities.
We have two strong smart and likeable characters and a clever fast paced plot. In this book time travelling is not the only ability of Diana. She is more than a mere guide and practices witchery. Again a very fast paced good story that brightens the grey days of winter. Did I forget to say heart-warming?
I like the authors writing and the storylines. While they are interwoven with characters such as Kensa and recurring others like Niall etc. you always get a complete book and don’t have to read the others.

My Thoughts: This time travel romance contains both travel forward and back in time. The danger and love interest combine for a page turner which I read in one sitting. I gave this book 4 of 5 stars for storyline and character development. I received a complimentary ARC of this book to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Artair's Temptress is an installment in the Highlander Fate time travel romance series that follows the story of Artair, a man who traveled through time from the past to modern times, and Diana, a modern day witch who helps guide Artair back home to his Highlander past as his time travel companion. The backstory behind Artair's situation is told in another of the books in this series. I thought the approach taken to tie things back to this other story was creative and really helped to support development of this time travel concept that Ms. Knight created. Similar to other books, the romance is hot and steamy with the two lovers having an instant attraction to each other, trying their hardest to deny their feelings, and then giving in to their passions. There is more than just the romance. Diane is a witch, but she's a witch who has avoided tapping into her powers because of events from her past. Artair comes back to the past just to have his troubled past thrown in his face. Together, the two characters overcome the events of their trouble past, but will it be enough for them to take a chance on building a new future together with each other? I recommend this book for fans of this genre or of this series.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author.
I actually read all 6 books in this series and loved all of them. I was waiting to write my reviews until I finished the whole series, which I did last night. I think Artair's Temptress was the best because is was the culmination of all 6 and mentioned all of the main characters from the previous books in it and tied them all together with Kensa, the Druid witch and so the mystery was solved as to how and why people would appear in different times. But, I felt that this one was the best of the series because it tied all of them together nicely and gave Artair his birthright as he richly deserved for his years of service to Caitria's father. There were times when I thought Artair's cousin Pagraiach was going to win and continue to be laird but it turned out as it should. If you're looking for a page turning adventure, you can't go wrong with the books in this series.

Artair was thrown into the 21st century when his descendant traveled back to 1390. Now, in order to get back, he has to put his life into Diana's reluctant hands. When he first lays eyes on her, he'd like to lay hands on her as well. Their chemistry is off the charts, but each is determined that this is strictly business. When they travel back and find themselves in the wrong place and in danger, the tables are turned and Diana must trust in Artair to keep her safe long enough to travel back to the portal that will take her home. This adventure is full of twist and turns to keep you turning the pages to the very end. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and am leaving my honest review.
I received an ARC copy for review. This is another brilliant book in the series, the book brings back the event from Niall’s Bride where we find that the real Artair gets sent to the future and it’s now time for him to return to his time with a reluctant Diana who is a stiuireadh but has turned her back on the magic after her parents where killed while time traveling. But she is persuaded by her aunt to help. Once Artair and Diana travel back to Artair time they realise that they have not arrived at Artair’s house but in the Lowlands near his sisters house. They get taken by bandits, they escape but they have several encounters with them as they travel back to Highlands and Artair’s house.
3,5 stars. This entertaining tale evidently inspired by the original idea of Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" with some addition of druids' magic mambo-jambo could be titled "Modern witchcraft and Freudism for Middle Ages". The story is simple with some elements of adventure but contains also extensive psychoanalysis of the familial relations of the main characters which is not exactly aligned with the light and playful concept of this fantasy book. The ending is predictable and constant romantic back-and-forth between the main characters becomes a little boring. Overall the story is a little silly but quite entertaining.
Oh I am enjoying this series! Artair is another strong Highlander who is attracted to someone from the future. Diana gains more confidence in her magic the longer she is in the past. However, both find it hard to admit to their attraction for the other, and this causes a few upsets along the way. This is an exciting storyline which keeps your interest from start to finish. I highly recommend this book.
Have read every book in this series and they just keep getting better. All the books can stand alone with no cliff hangers. There is a teaser at the end for the next upcoming story, but it does not effect the HEA. Timetravel, Magic, suspense and love what more can you ask for! Love the way this author depicts timetravel and how her characters adapt, in a believable way. Characters are very likable and I found myself pulling for them.
This is the fifth book in the Highlander Fate series and with each book that I read the series just gets better. Diana Hartford travels back in time to help Artair get back to his own time which is fourteenth century Scotland. This story draws you in making you feel like you are there watching things unfold. When this series is finished I know I want to read all the books at once. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Artair's Temptress Highlander Fate Book Five By Anna Hackett Kindle unlimited purchase Kensa needs Diana's help to get Artair back to his time. Diana has stayed away from magic her whole life. We were introduced to Artair in book 4 when Niall took his place. Now it's his turn to get his time travel love. I enjoyed reading this book. One more book to go in the series, wish they were more.
I truly liked this story. The characters were well developed and drew you into this story, making time travel and witches seem normal. What I didn't care for was gratuitous sex. I'm not prudish but full descriptions in most scenes weren't necessary. Sometimes less is more. I received this as an ARC copy for honest review looking forward to more of this series.
This was a wonderful story filled with mystery, spells, love, hate, and loads of excitement. I have read all the books in this time travel series, and they just get better with each one I read. Always anxious for the next.....which I hope will be soon. Stella Knight is an amazing author.
A Scottish Time Travel Romance that will delight you with adventure, fun, and a sensual love affair. Diana, a witch from the twenty first century who has the ability to time travel will help Artair return to his time. Interesting reading along with great character development. Highly recommend.
I chose to read and review this book. I love this genre of book and this one did not disappoint me at all. it is very well written the plot flow and characters were awesome I have read the ones before this one and was happy when I read Diana and Artair I liked how events unfold in each chapter their interaction are full of sparks and emotions ahh will be sad when it ends
I loved it! ‘Artair’s Temptress,’ was utterly captivating. I got lost in Artair & Diana’s story. Both lived a solitary life, centuries apart, and both were satisfied to continue living a content life. Fate, however, had other plans for these two. Fate or destiny, thrust Artair into the 21st century; and now, it is up to Diana to guide and bring him home. A journey she must take with him and one that will change their lives forever.
I could not put this book down. The way it is written just captured me. Like the other books from the author, Romance and Time Travel are blended so beautifully together. I highly recommend this book as well as her others!
Great time travel / witch / lost highlander read All the elements needed for an awesome read with great characters and lesser characters to bring the" whole " together. This authors , in my opinion does not disappoint in her books . Read this and I think you'll agree!
I have always liked time travel books. When you study history in school, it is all cut and dried. Time Travel books give you a feel for the time and place. Helping someone travel can come with many surprises.
A perfect time travel romance book. Artair and Diana are the ultimate book couple. The story’s beginning and end are delightful and full of excitement.
This series is excellent, well written, & very entertaining. I love the characters and especially how each book leads into the next one. I enjoy the time travel premise.
