4⭐️ This was good! I enjoyed this one a bit more than the other one in the marriage set. I’ve always prayed for my husband, but I didn’t spend time meditating every day to think of very specific prayers for him—I usually just prayed for the same few things. This book challenged me to really think about my husband and what he’s going through to find something unique to pray for him every single day. This mindset of prayer is something that benefits marriages, and I hope to continue to do this even now as I’ve finished the book.
I did like this. I wish there was one prayer for christian husbands and one for non-Christian husbands. But I would just pray the parts that pertained to my non-Christian husband louder. But it was based in scripture. The writing part after praying was wonderful. Love this. My marriage changed drastically.
My husband and I purchased the complimentary books "40 Prayers for My Husband" and "40 Prayers for My Wife" to read together this winter. It took us longer to get through them than 40 days due to other devotions taking a higher priority at times but we still enjoyed the books. Each day includes a Bible verse and then a prayer for your spouse based on that Bible verse and day's theme. Then the following pages are blank for you to write a personal prayer. Every day's written prayer had pieces that I underlined and used to write my own personal prayer. I appreciated this devotion helping me to pray more for my husband and I will continue to pray for my husband more because of it. We are interested is doing one of the Frederick's other couple devotions next winter or for Lent next year.
I liked this book and how it continued to remind me of the discipline to be praying for your spouse daily. I liked the prompts and would reccomend it to any Christian wife looking to incorporate prayer for her husband into her daily quiet time!
