I loved this book, really helped me learn Excel. I would recommend anyone that is learning the ropes on Excel to check this book out. It covers a wide range of topics. Great for beginners and those that need a brush-up!
So much information. I'll keep this by my workstation and use it for years. It has a great way of explaining the different features of excel. I've referred back to it many times.
I am a bit disappointed in this book. It started out very good (4*), but near the end my rating had dropped to 2*. The last two chapters, Macros and VNA were ok.
What is good about this book? It contains a lot of information on the features of Excel 2019 for beginners, intermediate and maybe even advanced users. The information is well-structured.
What is wrong with this book? No downloads possible for sample files or exercises. This means you will have to double click (Kindle version), and zoom in on the image and enter the data yourselves. In the beginning that is not so bad, but as the datasets become larger your appreciation for this book starts going downhill fast. Why couldn’t they have made available the sample files and some exercise files? If they exist, I didn’t find a link to it. The texts are too wordy even to the point that they become mind numbing. Nu humour, no wit.
I have read two excel-books earlier this year. Those books probably contained less than 10% of this book, but the focus was on making exercises, getting some hands-on experience. It was what I expected from “Excel 2019 All-in-One for Dummies” a very practical book that would take me from beginner to advanced. Instead, after reading this book I have somewhat an idea of the features of Excel but I gained little to no extra hands-on experience.
Where does that leave me? Look for another book? Try a Udemy course? ... Suggestions welcome.
