Bethany Young is running from the law. Accused of a murder she didn’t commit, Bethany’s life is in the hands of one of her accusers. Embarking on an irreversible journey, Deputy Tanner Brenly and Bethany work to unravel the secrets that tangle her life. How can Bethany prove she’s innocent when all the evidence points to her? How can she expect Tanner to believe what even she cannot prove? Together, Bethany and Tanner must wait and trust in the Lord - until proven innocent.

"Reading gives you the opportunity to travel the world with the turn of a page." - B.K.
This wonderful western by Carol Kinsey portrays a young woman who is framed for a crime that she didn't commit. 'Until Proven Innocent' portrays her feelings as she tries to clear her name, while trying to build friendships with few people, one being the law officer in charge of her case. This story takes you back to western times, before cell phones, video games, and most of all, the internet! This story will make you want to put your phone down, turn your laptop off, and cuddle up with tea and 'Until Proven Innocent'.
At the turn of the first page the reader finds themselves immediately in the action with Bethany and Deputy Brenly. As the story unfolds we find that Bethany Young has been charged with murder and all the odds point to her. She befriends her captor and they set off to prove her innocence. Tanner and Bethany's intertwined roles create a suspenseful plot that kept me turning pages. This fictional story includes both internal and external conflict that the characters must face on their own and work together to find the truth. Throughout the rest of this well crafted story we find something greater, and that even when we find ourselves alone and without hope He is always there for us. I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages.
Fantastic! This was the second book that I have read by this author, and I loved it! If you like a well-written suspense novel this is the book for you! Looking forward to reading all of her novels. One of the things I love about all of Carol Kinsey's books is that they are well written, clean, and I can share them with my kids!
“A room without books is like a body without a soul” -Cicero Realistic and believable characters are essential to a good novel. Developing the character and making unique traits to relate to the reader pulls you into a story. In Until Proven Innocent, Carol Kinsey shows good character development, develops unique character traits, and showcases her characters character through Tanner Brenly, Bethany Young, and Zane. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire ride. Tanner Brenly is a small-town deputy sheriff who fights between doing what he knows is right and doing his job. Throughout the book we continue to get to know more and more about him, and he never ceases to surprise us. His past is one of adventure, excitement, and crime fighting. Tanner is a man of upstanding character right from the beginning, even when he has an opportunity to take it from Bethany, he does everything in his power to give her dignity. Bethany Young is a young woman who is wanted by the police for a crime she didn’t commit. Her pursuit to find what is true lands her right in the lap of Tanner Brenly. Even though the relationship starts out rocky, she ends up finding him to be her best friend and only confidant. Bethany is a woman of upstanding character, even when she has the opportunity to escape, she doesn’t wish for her captors’ downfall, but for his safety. Zane is a character we dislike from the start, he is in life for himself, wanting the monetary gain from a situation regardless of who he hurts in the process. He shows his selfishness through being willing to kill Tanner just to get the monetary reward for Bethany. Through the beginning of the first few chapters, we recognize that he is an antagonist and a man of poor character. His implied desire to get what he wants from Bethany to satisfy himself continues to show his disregard for anyone but himself. The Characters development, different character traits, and their character were shown clearly through Tanner Brenly, Bethany Young, and Zane in Carol Kinsey’s novel Until Proven Innocent. This is a book I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fast paced, clean, historical fiction that will leave you on the edge of your seat every page of the way.
Interesting study of the works of the Lord on our lives.
I liked the Christian aspect and how others lead people The Lord. Forgiving sins can only come from Jesus Christ. It reminded me how important it is to read God's word.
The perfect Western drama. I read this book and couldn't put it down! It's a murder mystery, but has a little bit of everything in it. It's the very epitome of the perfect novel. I highly recommend adding it to your bookshelf!
4 stars! This is the second book I have read by Carol Kinsey, and I loved it! I started Witness protection by the same author, and am really liking it so far! Her writing style is really good and captivating! There is romance, but nothing inappropriate.
Where do I even begin with describing this beautiful book? I absolutely loved it! This is a fantastic historical novel that everyone should read.
Bethany Young is accused of murdering her uncle and all of the evidence points to her. Deputy Brenly captures her immediately in the beginning of the book, but quickly believes that she is innocent and will do anything he can to help her prove it. They find themselves constantly on the run all over California.
Bethany Young is a Christian who loves the Lord with all of her heart. She is an incredible example for girls everywhere. She is genuine and truly cares about those she crosses paths with. She is a woman of prayer and wants everyone that she meets to know Jesus, including her enemies.
Tanner Brenly is immediately drawn to Bethany, but doesn’t fully trust her in the beginning. When she saves his life and could have easily escaped, he learns that there is much more to this beautiful woman than meets the eye. He isn’t a Christian, but Bethany plays a huge role in that.
The writing is well down and will be impossible for the reader to put down. I loved Bethany and Tanner, but I enjoyed all of the side characters as well. They all become like friends and family. The scenery of Northern California was described beautifully. I felt as if I was actually there experiencing it all with the characters.
Now I must talk to you all about my favorite part of this story! The spiritual content was amazing. Mrs. Kinsey makes Jesus the center of her novels. That’s the best part! I was also impressed with Bethany. I mentioned earlier that she wants everyone she comes across to know Jesus, including her enemies. That was rich and powerful because I think we as Christians can be good about sharing our faith, but not so much when it comes to our enemies. I mean, didn’t Jesus do the same thing for us? It’s mind blowing and I think that will stay with me forever. Mrs. Kinsey also presents a clear Gospel message without being preachy and it flowed nicely with the book. There were several other themes throughout the book, but these were a couple of the ones I wanted to make note of because they are important.
I highly recommend this novel!

I LOVE THIS BOOK!! This is one of the best books I've ever read! I could not put it down! I love the characters they felt so real. I love the sweet romance between Bethany and Tanner. Bethany's faith is really encouraging. I think everyone should read this book because it's so awesome!! I'm excited for her next one to come out!
Until Proven Innocent is a wonderful romance novel filled with excitement. It has a wonderful Christian message. The character development is real and believable. If six starts were possible for this rating I would give it seven! :)
