Will Joyce and Brenda uncover the hidden message before someone else lands up murdered? Business is booming for Donuts on the Move. Joyce and Brenda have hired their first employee, Melissa, and they are excited that the donut truck is part of a local food fair. When a popular vlogger turns up at the food fair and does a feature on the donut truck they are thrilled. But when there are violent protests at the fair, business is put on hold. Then things go from bad to worse when someone is murdered. Joyce and Brenda cannot resist a good mystery, so they decide to do a little investigating of their own. But their sleuthing leads them straight towards trouble, and they find that they have bitten off more than they can chew. It is a race against time to find the murderer before the killer makes sure that their message is heard, and there is another victim. Recipe Baked Strawberry Donuts
Joyce and Brenda are insufferable and stupid. Cannot stand them and their attitudes. Especially in regards to Detective Crackle. Yeah an judgmental old bat and a SAHM-turned-baker REALLY know more about how to solve crimes than a seasoned detective. A bit too much suspension of disbelief required for this series.
Joyce and Brenda have their donut truck set up for a food fair in the Town Square. The first day of the food fair has a lot of security including police officers and Detective Arthur Crackle. They are expecting a protest because Alexa Vue, a food vlogger, is in attendance. Her vlog tends to be critical of food that is not organic. She has tackled some major sources such as Garring Farm, Country Grocery Place and Marbary Produce Farm. There was shouting and shoving during the protest but security kept it under control. The second morning of the food fair Brenda arrived early to set up. She was disturbed by a car dropping something out of a car and tearing out of the parking lot. Brenda called the police and Detective Crackle was first on the scene to investigate. He started by interrogating Brenda. However, she had her back to the car and didn't see what make or model the car was. Joyce and Brenda tried to help solve the murder. There were several suspects because Alexa didn't have many friends. The two people closest to her were Mark and Poppy. Can Brenda and Joyce solve the murder before someone else gets hurt. This is a great story to add to the Donut Truck Cozy Mysteries. I would recommend to those who love the food cozies.
First, I'm now starving for freshly made donuts! Second, what a rush. From beginning to end, reading this mystery was like being in a good processor--sometimes on high, other times on pulse, but never in slow or stop. Joyce, Brenda, & Melissa are delightful. The detectives but rigid and pushy but perfect for his character. The crime and resolution were believable, and every action, interaction, and scene were perfectly meshed. While I suspected the identity of the perpetrator, it was the finale that brought things together to prove it. Congratulations, Cindy Bell on another excellent cozy mystery.
I couldn't put this book down!!!! Brenda got a shock one morning she will never forget!! As she thought about it she had to find out why, then Joyce had to take over finding out why just because her husband was a cop and she knew more of how to go about than Brenda and she ended up in danger. Detective Crackle tried his best to get Joyce to stop investigating, short of arresting her which he would never do. She does seem to get answers he can't get, but even when she gets into tight spots, Joyce can't help herself and getting Brenda involved. You won't be disappointed!!!!
Another wonderful mystery. Once again Joyce and Brenda get themselves in the middle of a murder. I have to admit I love Molly (the bunny) great supporting character, and the donuts, damn I'm craving donuts by the time I'm finished reading. I'm hoping to see Joyce's relationship with Detective Crackle move forward.
The next day, the vlogger is found dead. Could it have had to do with her latest vlog post, which showed a video of her being taken? Was it a vendor that didn’t like one of her bad reviews?
An interesting mystery that you can’t wait to get to the bottom of. Definitely one of the best in this donut series.
A witnessed body dump at the food fair is bad enough, but the victim is an anti chemical food vlogger with a substantial following! The Donut Truck girls pool their deductive and investigative wits for a very interesting cozy.
Cindy Bell writes incredible cozy mysteries. Brenda and Joyce are intelligent, gutsy women. Who would think they would wind up in so many harrowing situations just running a donut truck!
I enjoyed this adventure of the Donut Truck mystery. The author has put Brenda and Joyce in the middle of another murder, hopefully they can bake their way out of it!?
Not good, not bad. These have a very weird dynamic, which makes reading them a challenge no matter the storyline. Suspending reality a bit more than usual and all that.
Great characters as always. Brenda and Joyce solved another murder. I hope in a future book Joyce will move along with her relationship with Det Crackle. I do enjoy these characters.
Brenda and Joyce are at it again with another exciting cozy. I loved the storyline, characters, twists, turns and suspense. This book is recommended for those who love cozy mysteries.
Strawberry donuts sound wonderful since my favorite donut is blueberry, or chocolate, or ... Well, is there a bad donut? Besides under our over baked? And then there's a murder mystery to solve. It all made my mouth water ;)
I have enjoyed this series so far. I have a slight problem with the character Joyce. She wasn't really a team player in this book. She doesn't want anything to happen to Brenda yet gets herself right in the middle of a with and almost gets herself shot.
Joyce and Brenda are trying to solve another murder at The same time as running the donut truck. With their new helper teenage Melissa, they learn the ways of social media and all about vlogging. Will they be able to solve the murder before one of them becomes the next victim.
Who doesn’t like a donut truck. Plus three great ladies running it. When a blogger is killed the search for the murderer begins. Plan on many twisty paths before the scary ending.
Loved it!! Girlfriends solving crimes together and making a living selling food truck donuts is always fun! This book was fun to read and perfect for some down time after a recent surgery.
A good clean murder mystery that keeps you entertained and still works your brain to figure out who did it. I have really enjoyed this series and this book.
