Iwamura was born in Tokyo and studied industrial arts at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He is the illustrator of many best-selling picture books in Japan.

I can't get enough of these books. I can't even analyze them properly because their nature-based idyll is too close for me to be critical. Just let me live with these forest mice already.

Très jolies illustrations, très détaillées. J'aime particulièrement : les ambiances intérieur/extérieur, les jeux d'ombre à la lumière des bougies.

okay so I never really read the story, I found the book in chinese (can't read chinese) but the illustrations were wonderful and so detailed. There is a whole series and each one was wonderful.
