Readers become writers, and Christina has always been a reader. Ultimately she discovered she liked to read romance best because the relationship between a man and a woman is always humorous. A woman wants world peace, a clean house, and a deep and meaningful relationship based on mutual understanding and love. A man wants a Craftsman router, undisputed control of the TV remote, and a red Corvette which will make his bald spot disappear.
When Christina’s first daughter was born, she told her husband she was going to write a book. It was a good time to start a new career, because how much trouble could one little infant be?
Ha! It took ten years, two children and three completed manuscripts before she was published. Now her suspense, paranormal, historical, and mystery novels have been translated into 30 languages and sold more than 15 million copies in print. Praised for her “brilliantly etched characters, polished writing, and unexpected flashes of sharp humor that are pure Dodd” (Booklist), her award-winning books have landed on numerous Best of the Year lists and, much to her mother's delight, Dodd was once a clue in the Los Angeles Times crossword puzzle. She lives with her family in the Pacific Northwest, where her 700 lavender plants share the yard with her husband’s various “Big Projects,” including a treehouse, zipline, and their very own Stonehenge.

Hidden Truths by Christina Dodd is a 2019 HQN publication.

At the conclusion of ‘What Doesn’t Kill Her’, Kellen Di Luca’s future is left hanging in limbo and readers were forced to wait impatiently to find out what her fate would be. This novella gives us the answers to a few burning questions and sets the stage for book three in the series.

While many prequel or in-between novellas are nothing short of cash grab teasers-that is certainly not the case here.

If you are following this series, this is an important segue you will not want to miss. There is the terrifying possibility that a very dangerous killer has escaped prison, and Max must leave Kellen’s side to find out for sure, putting himself in serious danger.

The emotions are off the charts, as is the suspense! This short story really packs a punch!

If you haven’t tried this series yet, I highly recommend it. I’m more excited than ever to read ‘Strangers She Knows’!!

Hidden Truths is as emotional bridge novell between What doesn't Kill Her and Strangers She Knows due to come out in a few weeks. Tissues all over the couch emotional.
Kellen Di Luca surgery has been successful except for the little detail of her going deep into a coma. Hidden Truths is a story of love, faith, joy with a bit of adventure thrown in. It contains all of the elements one comes to expect from a Christina Dodd story. Originality, wonderful characters, unusual settings and expert writing.

Ready for the final story

This story was a teaser to get us ready for "Strangers she knows" . It is a fabulous novella that reminds us of the toughness and strength of Kellen Adams DiLuca, and also the love of her family. Plus, there is the added bonus of what is going on with Mara Philippi. I am anticipating the release of the final story in a few weeks. Another outstanding story from Christina Dodd.

Christina Dodd is one of my favorite authors. Hidden Truth is the last book in this series. The characters are well-rounded and the story is easy to follow. A surprising bit of history on the house where they choose to go for all to be safe. Very well done with suspense toward the end.

Just Wow! This is a novella that is complete within itself. The story is jam packed with adventure, mystery, intrigue and a some paranormal activity as well. Kellen is in a coma following surgery to remove a bullet that has been in her brain but has recently moved making her collapse and necessitating the surgery. The doctors have said the surgery was a success, they also painted a grime outlook on her recovery as the coma is deepening and they state there is no chance of survival if the life support is removed. Kellen had made it perfectly clear many times before (as there was always the threat of the surgery) she did not want to exist on life support alone with no chance of recovery.
Right after her wedding and just before she collapsed, she saw Mara who was suppose to be in prison. Mara is a dangerous vicious vindictive person who was captured by Kellen and Max. Many doubt the accuracy of Kellen's sighting because of her collapse however Max is a believer. He has decided to go to the prison and make sure it is Mara on the prison tapes he has seen. His adventure is enough for a Novella of its own.
Kellen's adventures while in her comatose state are also worthy of it's own short story. The love, trust and loyalty are ever present and well described.
A very potent story! This author never fails to grab my attention with the first page and keep it till the very end! Many thanks for another great book!

An awesome prelude to the next full length book in the series!

Thought provoking follow through, bridging between the wedding and gearing up for the new plot. I enjoyed this, but was disappointed this bad character was coming back into play because I just didn't like her and don't like repeated drama, but knowing this author's work, she'll make me enjoy it anyway..

Tear jerker

Darn you, Christina Dodd, for making me cry through this short story. I love the way Kellen helps others, even in her other state. And then there is the wrongness of the Mac section.

Wonderful treatment of Kellen’s coma and Max was very persistent in discovering if Mara Philippi was in prison. It was good to see what everyone was up to after What Doesn’t Kill Her and a nice lead in to Strangers She Knows.

Wonderful addendum to the series!!

Christina Dodd never fails to capture the readers attention. I love this series. It could be because I can never guess what she is going to come up with in the next story. Whatever the reason, it is worth it. In this particular story, villains from the past drive the story, although you never really see them. The mere thought of Mara Phillippi sends waves of terror. Read it and you will see what I mean!!

This is a short story to get you ready for the final book in the Cape Charade series. This story shows you the love that Kellen has for her family and how she is able to help others even while she can't help herself. A great addition to the series!

Hidden Truths

I'm so glad I got to read this! Christian's ghost stories are the best. They are about love after death and that the hereafters not the end. What a wonderful way to resurrect Kellen. She will always be a hero, no matter what. Bravo!

This is, again, a perfect novella to read in-between two books in the Cape Charade series. Oh how I love Kellen and her family and their adventures. Hidden Truths is an exciting and thrilling (I bit my fingernails) feel-good story. You did it again, Christina!

Short but such a cute novella. More than cute, it was emotional.

After colapsing at her wedding, Kellen went through brain surgery and is now in a coma and near being disconnected from the support machines. Her spirit, though, doesn't rest and she wanders the hospital. It made me cry when she visited some children...

On the other side, Max is intrigued that, at their wedding and before fainting, Kellen said she saw Mara Philippi and investigates to get assured she's still in prison - or not. A bit of action on this character's side.

I adored this novella.

Well, shoot. This story ended way too soon. It picks up from the cliffhanger in the previous Cape Charade book and gets us on our way to the next (and final?) Cape Charade adventure. I love Kellan, Max, and Rae and cannot wait to see how life works out for them after all the upheaval.

Great bridge story

A great short story giving us a glimpse of the events between books 2 and 3 when Kellen eventually wakes from her coma. I loved the out of body experiences. Reading what Max was up to during this time was chilling. I really enjoyed this addition to the series.

When Kellen sees someone from her past, she collapses at her wedding and has the bullet that has been in her brain for years removed. Her recovery is going badly and she begins to 'haunt' the corridors of the hospital. Will she live or die? What might bring her back?

Fabulous novella leading right into the next and final full-length novel of the Cape Charade series. We get caught up in what is going on with Kellen's now husband Max, and their daughter Rae. Wonderful.

All caught up

Ok, so I guess this was the one to set the tone for the next book. Kellen has her surgery, but of course, there are problems. Not expected to survive, drifting, while confined to her bed in a coma. Max is trying to confirm Mara is still in prison because if not, crap is going to get real and Kellen is at her weakest. If she pulls through, and he doesn't expect her to. No one does except Rae.

It takes another potential tragedy to get Kellen to fight to live, but she does.

A little sleep does the body good

Truly hovering between life and death...this story explains that and provides some interesting thoughts of what occurs in a coma. It was great seeing the immediate aftermath of the wedding faint and how the surgery went Rae is adorable and the intrigue behind Mara is quite interesting. I loved the buildup to the patient and the nurse. I also found it interesting to see Max and Nils talking. This is a short read but packed full of emotion and build up to the next story!
