This is the second book by Silja I've read, I adore the layout and the way information is presented. I'm not exactly new to witchcraft but I still call myself a baby witch as I'm a perfectionist and in a constant state of anxiety over doing something wrong, and so I'm always triple-checking spells and ingredients but Silja's books are so easy to navigate and learn from that all worry about messing up goes away!
I mainly got this for the section on meditation, but the whole thing is fascinating and I will be dipping in and out of it for a long time to come, I feel. Lovely little book, and really beautifully put together, too.
This is a pretty good book. It's great for beginners. It's easy to read and has a beautiful layout. The spells have a "difficulty rating", which I'm sure people will find handy. The third part contains guided meditations and even rituals, which I personally loved. It does lean more towards Wicca (as given in the title), but I think it can still be adapted to suit individual needs.
I liked the writing style and it's a decent book for an absolute beginner that is a cis hetero female. I didn't like how so much of it was focused on that singular viewpoint. However, I did appreciate the section on pets and found a few random spells I will adapt to my practice. But overall, I'm glad I borrowed the book and didn't buy it.
A lovely little book, full of knowledge & spells! I refer to it often myself, and although I’m not Wiccan, it has a lot of information & knowledge in here that I resonate to.
I took notes in my journal on like every other page and still the book will be remaining on my reference shelf. There is SO much information! Easy to read. Simple instructions and information tidbits.
Really fun and very informative! I thought it was divided up nicely so it was easy to find specific things, while also flowing in a way that I could just go through it page by page.
