Brittney has been an avid reader since she can remember. Her parents' form of punishment for her growing up was taking away her books and making her go outside to play. She was born and raised in Southern California, with a brief hiatus in Arizona. She loves the beach, exercising, sleeping in, and cookies. She is an obsessive dog lover, although her affection currently has no outlet. Something that she is planning on remedying soon. She and her husband currently reside in the Rocky Mountains exploring and hiking as much as possible.

Post Partum Depression

This was a fairly lighthearted book about deep subjects. This is the first one I read and it was good. A married couple, I love those, had a baby, she almost died and when they came home their entire world was changed. He got hurt, and lost his number one endorsement. And he had major anger issues like throwing and breaking things. Then he left her because he thought she'd be better off without him. What an idiot. That broke her heart plus she was having issues with post partum depression. Luckily the team and their wives/girlfriends rallied around her. It was really cute with all those big hockey players holding the babies and trying to support her. He went to therapy both physical and mental, and she did too. I loved her Mother and she was just amazing. They actually loved each other very much and I loved the shenanigans with the whole team. Now did I think hockey players would act like this, not really. It was a little too sweet but I will take it. That will silence my inner unicorn for a while. I really did enjoy this and dive they are on KU I will definitely give them a try. Looking forward to reading this author more.

This book will stay with me for awhile, it was, without a doubt, one of the best books for me this year, no questions asked. I didn't think I would love this book as much as I did because the others in these series didn't really impact me much, but this one. This book touched me, swear to God it did. Books when a couple is already married don't really grab my attention but this one, so freaking perfect. Emma was drowning and nobody saw it, it broke my heart, she just needed Olli to notice and help her. He too got himself hurt and couldn't play for a year and just switched something in him, he got so angry. They were so broke and neither could help the other. I loved how they knew that in order to get better and even if it hurt, they had to be apart for awhile. They really loved each other a lot, but their marriage and son needed them to be better, to improve. Everything happened at the exact pace it should. I loved these characters much more than I thought I would and I'm so glad they could find their HEA again

Romance, clean; Series but stand alone read
More of a 3.5 for me as a reader, but rounded up, I am definitely hooked. Olli and Emma's story about their marriage and what happens after she has an early can complicated delivery and an injury for Olli was heart wrenching and emotional. As they deal with the problems they are facing, and struggle through healing and fixing themselves and their relationship with the help of the team, in particular the Pride, realizing as a team they can face this, and as a couple, they have some work to do, a beautiful, honest story is told.
Loved the novel. I will say, there are some romantic moments, I might have wished for more at the end, just a bit more of them as a couple, but still, this dealt with several emotional, hard issues and their honest hurting hearts, with that wanting and worrying about each other as they needed to fix their marriage, was still a lovely read. Great to see the other members of the team with brief cameos in the novel as well. They really are family.

I think this was a pretty geniune hockey book although not a lot of actual ice time is involved. So many of the "Hockey Romance" genre is written about single man who meets shy sports writer (?, Right?). This book is about a hockey player married, whose life takes a real rough patch and both husband and wife take a hard hit between them
Can they recover physically and mentally and as a couple? It seems real enough and I loved how even though there was overwhelming amounts of friends to help, it still took extraordinary bravery and personal fortitude on both husband and wife.

It's a hard book...not sunshine and roses.
I like the subtle transition to next player and book!!

Emma was waiting on pins, and needles with, Kendall for any news as, to how their men were doing. They had all just gotten off, a plane from Mexico for vacation, hours ago. The two guys wanted, to check in with, coach Romney before heading home. The unnecessary worry after, a long flight couldn't be good for, Emma who is due in, four weeks. To everyone's dismay, they came out of the accident with only cuts, and bruises.

It's not until she gets home, and tries, to get comfortable in her bed. That's when excruciating pain, strikes. Olli asks, how far apart the contraction are, and all she can say is, close. Olli took no time at all, carrying her, to the car, and they are going, to the hospital. They had called, Chloe, and, the Pride knew from there. The team and WAGS would never allow them, to go through this alone. Chloe would have a chart and, schedule ready before, too long.

Things didn't go as planned, and as a matter of fact, became close to fatal. But, mama and the baby, pulled through. Something had changed within, Emma, and, no one was noticing it. Could it be there were, too many people willing, to take over? There was always a house full of, people doing the parenting duties, and not even, Olli saw the change. Olli’s time off, to help, Emma was over. His first game back, was going great. Until one player wanted, revenge.

He decided, to go after, Olli. He had anticipated it, but the other player's momentum, plus the players added weight sent him, to a landing he wasn’t expecting. Causing a knee injury, that could have ended, his career. Instead, it might end his, marriage. Olli’s emotions plus those of, Emma’s, and add lack of sleep, for both, are not a good recipe for, a happy marriage. Especially when from the beginning, it had always come so, easy for them.

This was such a good story of, what so many couples, go through after having, a baby. Depression doesn't only strike, moms either, dads get it, too. So, talking is so important, before you even get pregnant, before delivery, and then after. No, joke. This was a very OTT but a good eye-opener.

Great book. I love how the couple we’ve always seen referred to as perfect was featured in this book. this book is so relatable and I actually loved the way it was written a small how accurate the feelings of both Emma and Olli were. From the first couple of pages and throughout the whole book this was a true look at real issues. Marriages, children and life pops up when you’re least expect it and I found the way this abort unfolded both characters provided candid and relatable struggles.
Seeing how the girls stood behind Emma and how the guys interacted with Olli was likely very accurate as well. I’m glad to see how things ended and I found myself relating with this story so much and feel like I read this chapter in the series at the exact right time.

Stumbling blocks

Wow! This book was a tough one to read! The ideal couple started to crumble and it shook my soul when reading about it! I love how Brittney showed the struggles of being a brand new parent. Also, how quickly things can move south when you get into your head and don't talk things through! Great job on showing the work they go through to get back to each other.

Unique in the best way

I loved that this couple is already married and was in the previous few books. I loved that they were going through some bad s*** and needed to work through their issues and find each other again. Loved the choice to see them this way.

Olli and Emma

I have been eagerly waiting for this story and couldn’t put it down. There was a lot of drama and hurdles in this story. The Fury family was there to help Ollie and Emma with the emotional turmoil that they face. The only thing is I felt Ollie was getting all the blame for the problems. Emma had her own issues and she was trying to be silent about it.

Ollie was dealing with everything happening including seeing his wife in a distressed state (I am trying not to give things away) He notices a change in Emma and was trying to help, he was telling her to ask for help and they even spoke of a nanny possibly, but she refused. Emma was stressed so the baby was stressed, Olli made suggestions but they were dismissed. Everyone really got on Ollie’s case but Emma didn’t really own up to what she was keeping to herself. Ollie made some huge mistakes but it was partially due to not knowing what was happening to Emma.

The guys told him he should get help and also go somewhere, everyone wanted him to go but when he did, everyone ganged up on him about leaving.

I know we try to give a new mother some slack but she never admitted what she had her problems to her husband and no one asked her why she wasn’t being honest when she had feelings she should have discussed. They sympathized with her PSD but not her husbands. Grant it he went overboard but she was mad that he didn’t know what her problem was when she was working hard to hide it. Honestly, he was trying to figure out what was wrong.

I just wish she apologized to him for her part and explained better what she was doing to correct it. Everything centered more on his issues, Emma’s recovery was just touched upon.

I also didn’t agree that she should take their son on a trip during a time that was special for both parents to be with a new baby.

I like the story read it quickly, but the one sided blame game bugged me.

I love the series and can’t wait for the next one.

I loved it

Olli and Emma were the perfect married couple with their first baby on the way. They had the support of the whole Utah Fury hockey team behind them. They were the first of all their friends to have a baby so when their son was born there was no shortage of extra hands to help out and hold the baby. That was good because Emma was having a hard time feeling the joys of motherhood. Then Olli suffered a possible career ending injury and the idea of being out for an entire season caused him to become someone Emma could even recognize. It was going to take the help of the whole Fury family and some professional help to put their lives back together, loved it, can't wait for the next book

Journey!

Wow this was more than just a hockey story and in truth there’s not much in terms of true hockey action. This couple was the “couple goals” ones of the series - stable and so much in love. But life has a way of throwing things at you and only strength of character and the love between these two would get them through. It was hard to read but the journey to there still happy ever after was worth the time. Thanks

A Hard One to Read

I love Ollie and Emma, so this was a hard one to read. No one likes rough patches in relationships, but if committed, things come out better and stronger. Once again, both the Pride and the Fury team of brothers come through. Emma and Ollie discover just how much people love them when they are finally open to help. Beautiful story of healing, growth, forgiveness, and reconciliation.

Spectacular

Another awesome book in the Utah Fury series. Brittney took on subjects that most people won’t touch. She brought to light the seriousness of mental well-being and how people need to know it’s ok to reach out for help and not think it’s a weakness to ask for help. I applaud her!!

Ready to laugh, cry? Emotional roller coaster that to have a front row seat for. This is an awesome serious, especially for us hockey fans. Understanding what it's like behind the scenes for all our professional sports heros. Very well written, excepted for all ages! Be ready to get hooked! Keep them coming Brittney!

Emotional read

This book was filled with so many emotions. The struggles that two people who love each other was intense and at times heartbreaking. The book explores two subjects that married couples fail to communicate on, and that's the point you have to communicate. I loved the ending.

I was really looking forward to this books and I was just so disappointed with how things played out. I liked how the author addressed different types of depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Yet there were so many points through out this book were I felt only one person in the main couple was getting blamed for everything. And again the ending was to rushed and felt incomplete.

I really liked this in general, I thought it handled heavy subjects well. It just bugged me that Emma blamed her husband for leaving when earlier she said he would have to leave if another incident happened. He was doing exactly what she wanted and she spent most of the rest of the book holding it against him.

Excellent five star!

Another excellent book in the series. I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good romance without sex dialogue. I have read most of the series and enjoyed them all.

Great story

I loved the story of perseverance in a relationship. It takes work for the long haul. There are some typos in the story, but nothing another round of copy editing wouldn’t fix.

Addresses important issues

I liked having a deeper look into Olli’s and Emma’s marriage and how they tried to work on themselves to strengthen their marriage. This book also addresses anger issues and postpartum depression, which are important to understand. Great job!

This book, much like every other book in the Utah Fury Hockey Series, had me on my toes waiting, reading every second to see how this amazing couple would find their way back to each other. In the first five books, we hear about Emma and Olli's relationship and how every couple on the team looks up to them. This was our chance to finally delve deep into their relationship as they embark on the journey of bringing a new life into the world. This book was nothing like I expected in the best way possible.

In this book, you find out that every couple experiences childbirth differently and faces different hardships along the way. Brittney writes about postpartum depression, PTSD, anger management, and many other things that people face every day, but are afraid to speak out about. This book is a great book for any romance lover, but also any new family. I would dare to say it's my favorite book in this series so far. Every time I read a new book in this series, I get more worried that it's going to end soon, but then Brittney introduces us to another dynamic duo. I can't wait for May to get here so that I can see what's next for Addison, Grant, and little Eli.
