A battle to save a young Nun from the demon that possess her leaves the cold waters of an English bay haunted and cursed. Centuries later and with fish stocks low and financial worries growing, a captain decides to take his vessel and crew into the dark waters of the Devil's Bay in an attempt to find fish. What they find is a dark and vengeful entity hell bent on unleashing hell on earth.
A crew of fishermen wants to fish in an area that is rumoured to be cursed. While anchoring the oldest fisherman warns the captain and tells the story of a nun obsessed by a demon. The demon couldn't be driven out back then since the nun died before and is bound to the bay. Many ships and men were lost since that accident. But what about our crew? Jack, one of the members, finds the remains of the nun in a sack and from the on the horrors begin. Can the abott and some monks from the island help our crew to defeat the demon? It there a possibility to get rid of it forever? Interesting story, especially the lore like part but then it becomes a bit too predictable and stereotypical. Not bad but not the absolute wow factor either.
It wasn't Peter Buckley's best. It was repetitive and you knew what was happening in advance. I think he is a wonderful writer and I look forward to his next book! There is a lot of competition out there even for writers.
