Love Story Duet #2
A Story Like Ours
Sometimes it's not about finding love. It’s about saving it.
Even when we were kids, the connection between us was overwhelming. I knew Sam and I were soulmates, destined to be together. Breaking that love would mean breaking us. And for a little while, that happened. I lost the man who had always been my other half.
After too much heartache and too many years apart, we've finally found our way back to each other. But Sam's professional boxing career is getting in the way of our happy ending. I don't know how much longer I can watch him take another crushing punch, knowing each one knocks him closer to danger. He's killing himself. For me. For us. And for one tiny other...
Then the blow comes. It's not the one I thought it would be--fist in glove--but the result is the same. We're on the verge of losing everything we fought for. Everything we sacrificed for.
We thought we paid the price. We thought we had it all.
But what if my love isn't enough to bring Sam back to me?

Sam and Lucy’s relationship isn’t bed of roses, as they encounter many challenges.
There are many detailed scenes that I found not really necessary and if the two books were more compact the whole story could be a standalone.

*Review for the whole Love Story Duet*
Lucy & Sam grew up together in the foster care system and took care of one another, through it all, no matter what. They fell hard for each other but when Lucy was 17-years old, Sam broke Lucy’s trust & heart, leaving her to pickup the pieces of her life.
Despite dropping out of high school early, Lucy went on to attend Art school and now is an artist & gallery owner. And, she’s getting married to a successful restauranteur who helped Lucy make a name for herself. On paper, her fiancé is the perfect guy, but Lucy’s heart isn’t so convinced.
Lucy thought she left Sam in the past, but when he became a world-famous boxer, she couldn’t help but keep tabs on him. And now, out of the blue, Sam shows up in Lucy’s gallery & he doesn’t want to leave until he has Lucy back, no matter what it takes.
A Love Like Yours & A Story Like Ours are part of Robin Huber’s Love Story Duet. I couldn’t put these emotional, page-turning books down & devoured them in a day. This had drama, angst, heartbreaking backstory. Let’s just say I was hooked from the very start! I loved Robin’s writing style and while I enjoyed book 1 more than book 2, they both complemented each other well.
A Love Like Yours: 4.5/5 stars

I was lucky enough to read the first book in this series, A Love Like Yours, just days ago and from the second I started reading, I knew I'd found a gem. The story of Sam and Lucy is an exceptional one, a rocky road paved with heartache and longing, victories and losses, triumph and defeat. But it was always so hopeful, so romantic, so breathtakingly beautiful, and as soon as I turned the last page of book 1, I was sure I wouldn't be able to handle a lengthy wait for this sequel.
Well fortunately I didn't have to wait long but even if I had, A Story Like Ours would've been well worth the wait. This sequel was arguably more complicated than the first book. It was bumpy and so emotional and it never let me forget just how far these characters had come.
I swooned over how deliciously romantic this story was. My heart ached over how gut wrenching things got. I was overcome with grief and with joy and with awe on every page of this entire series. It was just so good, so beautifully written, so RIGHT. I adored it. Robin Huber is an author to watch and I look forward to reading more of her work.

A Story Like Ours is the sequel to A Love Like Yours. I was grateful to be able to read them back to back as the first book did end with a bit of a cliffhanger.
In this book, a significant portion of the book actually revolves around Sam's boxing career. It felt a little like Rocky at times, which was fine with me. While the main focus is still Sam and Lucy's continuing romance, we also get more exposure to the secondary characters and are able to connect with and feel more invested in them. I, personally, wish I had a friend like Sebastian. What a special guy! Lucy really needs him almost as much as Sam at times!
Sam and Lucy face several major challenges in A Story Like Ours and they have to work to hold their relationship together. It isn't easy but they are committed to each other and it shines through. It really is beautiful to see their second chance at love bloom and grow.
There were a few points in this book where I felt that too much unnecessary detail was provided. However, that could just be me. Overall, I found it to be a very enjoyable book which wrapped up Lucy and Sam's story nicely and provided an epilogue which not only gave the reader a glimpse into the future of our favorite couple but for their friends as well. I'm impressed by Robin Huber's debut duet and recommend it for those who are fans of second chance and/or sport romances.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A Story Like Ours is the continuation of Sam and Lucy's story and picks up right where the first book left off. It is not a standalone and should only be read after A Love Like Yours.
I enjoyed getting to see Sam and Lucy's relationship evolve and grow after everything they experienced in book 1. It was sweet to see them reconnect and fulfill the wishes they made together as teenagers. The book felt like a giant extended epilogue and tied up all the loose ends. The majority of the story is again told from Lucy's POV, but Sam does have a chapter sprinkled in here and there. I'm not completely sure that two books were really needed to tell Sam and Lucy's story, but it was still nice to see them come full circle as well as dive deeper into secondary characters like Tristan and Sebastian.
Overall, this was a sweet second chance/sports romance duet and a wonderful debut by Robin Huber.
*I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

Love Story Duet Book #2
Review Copy Provided by the Publisher
At the end of my review for the first part of this duet, I said that I wasn’t sure where else the story could go. I thought maybe the characters didn’t need more page time, and things could have wrapped up in one book. I was wrong. Really wrong. There was so much more story to tell.
I think the second part of this duet was even more of an emotional storm than the first part. Lucy and Sam are together. Lucy has decided to grab ahold of what she wants and needs, which is Sam. Yay! I mean, Sam is amazing and I couldn’t help but love him to bits.
The couple have barely had a chance to find their footing in this new relationship when everything is turned upside down again. There are two major surprises, one that is completely wonderful, and the other is heart wrenchingly tragic. Oy! I snot and bawled through so much of this book.
I don’t want to give too much away because I think it would be doing the reader a disservice. This book is best felt from a firsthand experience. Just know that Sam and Lucy haven’t necessarily found their HEA yet. They have some pretty big obstacles to overcome. But the one thing that remains constant is their love for each other.
Robin Huber is a new to me author, and she has quickly become an author that I’ll read from now on. Her writing is superb. She really makes you care about her characters. This was an absolutely amazing duet, and A Story Like Ours, was an outstanding ending. I’m actually going to miss Sam and Lucy. This duet needs to be read in order, starting with a A Love Like Yours. Read it!!!

A STORY LIKE OURS concludes the adventure we began with Sam and Lucy in A LOVE LIKE YOURS. And if you thought the first story was emotional and ripped your heart out — just wait.
It’s actually impossible for me to write this review in a way that won’t reveal vital to the story information. And since I try very hard to not give away spoilers I’m simply going to go for the emotions here. This really is a story (a duet of stories) that needs to be read in order and firsthand to get the complete impact of the love between this couple that goes through so much.
Lucy and Sam’s story is intense, it’s emotional. This couple will break your heart at what they go through, and eventually, heal it back up as their love stands firm in the face of so much coming at them. I loved getting to know the secondary characters a little better this time around. I devoured this story very quickly and was more than satisfied by the ending and the epilogue as well. If you love a really good, intense, and emotionally demanding romance then you’ll want to pick up this duet of lovely romances.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

A Story Like Ours is the sequel to A Love Like Yours, and when I finished the first book I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait long to get my hands on the second book and luckily I didn't. A Story Like Ours was an emotional journey, but definitely one worth taking. I will say that it is necessary to have read the first book in this duet to fully understand and enjoy this book.
I don't want to say too much about what happens in this book because it is important to allow it to unfold. There is no doubt that Lucy and Sam are tested in many ways throughout this book, but the connection they have and the obvious love they share helps them to navigate all that is thrown at them. It's emotional, it's heartbreaking, it's hopeful and it's beautiful.
Robin Huber did a wonderful job writing the conclusion to Lucy and Sam's story. It felt right and it felt real. I definitely felt every emotion you possibly could throughout this book and that to me says that the author was hitting on all of the right points. While this may be the second book Robin Huber has released, I for one look forward to more of her work.

When I finished the first book and was left with a cliff hanger I was frustrated, to say the least. Being able to get the second book I jumped right in and finished it the same day. Still a very good story and a few times you think that Lucy is maybe wanting to be with Drew, even though you know as the reader the author is taking you through all of the emotions she is going through with the new changes in her life. The author takes you through a love story but also what couples go through when losing someone close to them, to change in their life whether job or situation. How you may plan for something and it comes before you want it to. So yes both of the characters take you on a journey but the author really makes it a true love story. When you get to the last part of the book and the epilogue you know you are coming to the end of this ride with these two characters. All of the characters in this story were good and the author has done a wonderful job of taking you on a journey with them. A very good book. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. After finishing A Love Like Yours (even though it wasn't a favorite) I needed to read A Story Like Ours to find out what happened after the cliff hanger of an ending in book 1. Sadly it just didn't work for me at all. Everything was a little too much and way over the top for my particular taste. The drama was just non stop and there was one part of the book that really had me scratching my head. I get that the author really wanted to test Lucy and Sam, but they were put through soap opera level drama and it just didn't work for me. Once again I know people that did enjoy it so check out their reviews and decide for yourself.

I wish I could describe to you in words how excited I was when I got to the end of the first installment 'A Love Like Yours' and realized there was a second book. I thought the first book was amazing but Huber outdid herself with the second installment.
This book had the perfect amount of action suspense, heartache and love combined all at once. I loved reading this while I am going through my pregnancy journey because in the novel Lucy is also pregnant with a little girl. A lot of her pregnancy journey surprisingly matched mine other than all the morning sickness. She even mentioned that a possible name for their daughter would be Ava and that is a name we have been considering. I felt as if I was put into this story and it connected me in a way I've never felt with a book before.
If you love reading romance novels, I highly suggest these two books. I could not put them down and when I had to I had one big book hangover (which doesn't happen very often)!

This book starts at the point where book 1 ended on a cliffhanger. Fortunately I had this book ready-to-read.
Lucy and Cole face obstacles in their life together, and it is true that joy and heartache are close. I had some issues how Lucy handled her relationship with her ex, but overall I thought she was great in supporting Cole. Even when he was hurting deep, she was there for him and never stood in the way of his dreams. And we finally get a wonderful HEA for these two, just as a romance should end!
I really enjoyed this story. Sometimes it was a bit too cheesy or dramatic but I loved the romance between Lucy and Cole and that is what it is all about! I do think the story could have been told in one book but in duets you get an extended story and in this case it is not annoying or too much. Well done.

A Story Like Ours is the conclusion to Sam and Lucy's story. We were left on a cliffhanger just as Sam and Lucy appeared to be getting their happily ever after. Each time I thought I knew what was going to happen the book went in another direction. Just like in the first book, the supporting characters stories are weaved in seamlessly without taking away from Sam and Lucy.
Thank you Robin Huber for characters I truly loved and felt connected to. I'm so very glad it was a duet and we got to a ending that let us see how everyone in Sam and Lucy's family are doing. I'll be looking forward to what you do next!

What a perfect ending to Sam and Lucy's story! I couldn't have asked for a better one! A Story Like Ours picks up right where A Love Like Ours left off. Thankfully, I was able to snag this second book because the first ended in quite the cliffhanger! Lucy and Sam face many obstacles, together and apart. This book takes them through loss and new beginnings. I truly enjoyed this duet and loved all the characters involved. It was such a beautiful story of second chances and true love. We finally get the HEA for these two and it was perfect. The epilogue was also a treat. I love getting a little glance into the future!

I'm not crying! You're crying! Wait, I am crying! This book is fabulous! What a wonderful romance. I am so happy for Sam and Lucy. The back story of them being in the system together then coming back together years later brings you in and pulls you further in to their story. The struggle of being who you are, but also being who others want you to be is hard for anyone much less someone in the public view. Read this book! It is awesome! I also like how Robin builds you in to the story. I ended up staying up all night reading this book because I could not put it down.

Debut author Robin Huber concludes Sam and Lucy’s epic love story with the second book in the Love Story duet, A Story Like Ours, and it’s captivating, sexy, emotional and deeply romantic. If you love second-chance romances, you do not want to miss this duet that delivers all the feels.

This book had all the feels with angst and lots of passion. That is my kind of book and I loved it. A Story Like Ours is the conclusion to A Love Like Yours and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.
Sam and Lucy face many challenges and will have to work hard to make things work. I was so happy to see them fulfill wishes they had as teenagers. I was happy to see them reconnect and the conclusion of this couple couldn’t have been any better. This book was an emotional rollercoaster for me that I devoured in one sitting.

A Story Like Ours is a great conclusion to Sam and Lucy's story. I enjoyed the characters and their storylines. Sebastian was my absolute favorite. Everyone deserves a Bas in their lives. I love sports romances. This was my first boxing romance. I had such empathy for Lucy's feelings and fears throughout the story. I would recommend this duology to other romance readers. Thanks Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the ARC of this title.

This was a really sweet duet. I am glad I read this. I am not familiar with the author and I honestly don't know when I downloaded the first book to my kindle, but I am glad that I did. I love the story of Sam and Lucy. If you read the first book, it's a must to get the second book, I had to know what happened next, when the first one ended with a cliffhanger. If you want a sweet second chances trope book to read, this duet is for you.

[1.75 star] book are a duet therefore kinda feel its slightly long-winded. dont really like the mix of past & present in some chapters. also, there seems to be a lot more of the heroine's pov than the hero in this second book.

I couldn’t wait to read this and I was not disappointed! I read it in two sittings. Robin needs to write a new book soon. She keeps readers wanting more.

This book could have and should have ended with the first one. But, an easy read for sure.

Loved the second half of Sam & Lucy's story. Beautiful

Ok, so this took me a little while to read, although that was more due to a lack of actual time to read rather than the book having issues. That being said, I did have a few problems with this. Does anyone know if this was a self-edit? There were a couple of spelling and grammatical mistakes (ex: There's a point where the characters are on a plane and it's getting ready to land but it's saying decent instead of descent). Most of the errors were in that vein; not bad per se, but definitely pulled me out of the book.
I loved the way Sam cared for Lucy although I wished that he'd have had that little "come to Jesus" moment with Tristan earlier. As much as I loved the way he loved and cared for Lucy, I also thought he was being a bit of a butt. On the one hand, I could understand feelings and not wanting to acknowledge death and guilt over said death and everything. But on the other, he was just a pain. He was too busy being wrapped up in his supposed guilt that he wasn't able to pull back and see Lucy needed him. Yes, they kind of needed each other and really always have, but still. I did like the fact that he showed up at the gallery (that was super romantic), and then their little tourist excursion through New York was awesome.
Lucy was interesting. I got a little more frustrated with her this time, although it was more because she kept holding off on giving stuff back to Drew just because she didn't want to let go. That was minor and I found myself more rooting for her to get things handled with Sam. I did like how she settled into the nesting thing once it happened. I loved the way she was all over getting stuff for the house (NGL, I kind of want that nursery furniture for my future kid(s)). I also loved the way she was able to get her art going, she finally moved on from Drew and wondering what might have been (and got the studio back to him), and seemed to get things going on her own.

THIS BOOK😍 If you love romance books, you should definitely get your hand on this duet by Robin Huber!! It also happens to be published by my favourite publishers Forever pub💕
I was in love with the first book, but I think this one stole the show for me. It was everything that I could’ve wanted after finishing the last book, minus a few things that I’m still heartbroken about! This book made me cry so many times (sad and happy tears). I love romance books but it’s so hard with stand-alone’s when the couple finally gets together in the end and then the book ends and their story is done. With this story, I’m so glad it was continued into another book. I read a few books in between reading these two and as soon as I read the first page, I was immediately swept back up into their world. This book has so many swoon worthy moments, including every single time Sam calls her “Lamb”😍
This book and series is a very easy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me and I’m so surprised that I haven’t seen pictures of them all across bookstagram. If this review hasn’t convinced you, I will leave you with this quote “Lucy, I’ve loved you since I was twelve years old. We didn’t have much back then, but I had everything, because I had you.” This second chance romance featuring an athlete’s first book is out and you can preorder this one while you read the first so that you have it in your hands when it’s released on June 18th!
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Forever pub for giving me this eARC in exchange for my honest review!

"I want to take you everywhere. I want to show you everything I`ve seen. And everything I haven`t. I want to see the whole world with you, Lamb."
This book was completely different from what I was expecting. It was very different from the book 1. There was more drama and so many things happened. At the beggining I was a little bored with it, because I really don`t like when the book skip time a lot of times. I really like conversations and details, and I feel that when the time passes we lose them. I also hate plots, but here the author dealt with it in a way it wasn`t a problem for me.
When all this stuff passed I was really happy with the book. It was good to see what happened after their "happily ever after" in the first book., and how they dealt with their problems that came with Lucy`s actions in the previous book. The end was one of the cutest I had ever read. And the book ending to be a positive experience to me.
"'Thank you.' 'For what?' 'For taking a risk on me.' 'Oh, Sam, you were never the risk. You were the reward.'"

Halfway through the first book in this duet, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to bother reading the second one because I just wasn't buying the soulmate connection between the two main characters. However book 1 ended on a cliffhanger and I decided to read book 2. I preferred the second book because the love triangle component was eliminated and it focused more on the couple reestablishing a life together. However, as in the first novel, the heroine just didn't seem to care that much about the hero. The author tried to explain her actions as a vestige of childhood trauma but I didn't find it very convincing. She just seemed self absorbed, goal oriented and unwilling to fight for anything but her lame ass career. Was disappointed that she didn't show more strength of character and commitment to hero in book 2.

Ah. A second chance romance between two people - Sam and Lucy- who have know each other since childhood. I missed the first book but that wasn't a problem as Huber does a good job of explaining what's happened in the past. These two have loved each other for years, even when they were separated by time, space, and other lovers. Sam's a boxer (and there's a fair amount about his boxing in this); Lucy is in the art world. Together, though, they make a good pair. There's tough stuff here and you will root for them. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A light good read.
