Have you ever wondered what Dickens’ A Christmas Carol would be like if it was told from the perspective of a woman? If so, then have I got the book for you! Flora Speer’s Christmas Carol is a 1990s romance novel that tells the story of young, miserly Carol Simmons as she travels back & forth in time to visit Christmas Past, Present, & Future. Based on its cheery cover, I had assumed that it would be a fluff read, but it ended up having depth & feeling to it. It is not without its faults, but overall, it is an enjoyable holiday read that is filled with hope & warmth.
I really enjoyed this book. I purchased it because it looked like it was a troupe about A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens which is probably my favorite Christmas story since I was young. This book included time travel, a soulmates/ twin souls romance that has lasted throughout time. I'm not one to read futuristic stories but I did enjoy reading this one and seeing parallels with some of how life is today and during wartimes. I will hold on to this book in case I ever decide to read it again because it was that good for me.
Прекрасна коледна книга! Класическа история, как по празниците подтикнати от малко магия, ставаме по-щедри, добри и любящи. Въпреки, че идеята е подобна на "Коледна Песен", много ми допадна. Напомни ми на хубавите стари филми.
When I picked this one up to read, it looked like a cutesy time-travel Dickens 'A Christmas Carol' romance.. from the cover, I wasn't expecting the level of sex that is there, and has a reincarnation storyline that I wasn't expecting.
Not a bad book, but just wasn't the cute visit to London 1818 that I was anticipating.
