What do you do when your career is stagnant and one of the biggest businessmen in the city offers you the opportunity of a lifetime? To plan a New Year’s Eve party for thousands of his employees. On too short of notice. With no plan. With an almost assured chance of failure? Well, you take it, of course. Or at least, that is what Sage Walters decides to do, sure that if she could pull it off, this would be the job that would catapult her career to a whole new level that doesn’t involve one gender reveal party after another. Of course, she’d have to not only contend with the impossibility of pulling off the event on such short of notice, but the overbearing, micromanaging, condescending CEO of Calgary Industries - Grant Calgary himself, their constant bickering, and the completely irrational, unprofessional - yet undeniable - chemistry between them… * This is a short, light, but sexy New Year’s Eve novella

NYE Jessica Gadziala

N.Y.E. is a short, sexy, fun and sweet little holiday read by Jessica Gadziala. I love it when she writes these. And I loved this one! It was the perfect little book to help me celebrate the New Year.

Sage Walters has a fledgling party planning business that she’s been working her booty off trying to get established. She has one employee and they share a tiny office. They even share the desk! She’s been getting a lot of bookings for baby showers and gender reveal parties but she desperately wants more. She hears that Calgary Industries is looking for a party planner for a huge New Years Eve bash but the problem is that it needs to be pulled together in just three short weeks, a near impossibility. Still, it’s the booking that could break her into the big leagues. Or it could ruin her. And so it begins.

Grant Calgary is the hottest man she has ever seen. His brusque manner should be a turn off so why does all her lady parts wake up when she is near him? She’s not even sure why he wanted a party planner when he insists on micro managing every single detail. They bicker non stop over everything. Until the bickering turns into something else!

NYE Jessica Gadziala

“This was a mistake. Coming here. To his place. Seeing him in his own environment. Seeing him as a person with a past and pains and a bit of self-deprecating humor. It was making it harder to deny the need coursing through my system.”

new years clock

These two were so much fun to watch. Or read I guess you could say! It was obvious to everyone but Sage what was happening. Her assistant was hilarious. He was the perfect addition to this story. If I had one complaint, I would have loved a little epilogue chapter to get a glimpse into their future. This was such a fun little book and I just loved it. I hope you do as well!

Hell Yes! What a perfect way to begin the New Year with an absolutely adorable novella that will make you smile, swoon and fall in love with reading all over again. N.Y.E. was such a sweet read with laugh out loud moments, memorable side characters and witty dialogue. I can't recommend this enough!!

Two cynical workaholics brought together by a New Year's Eve party that neither want to attend. Party Planner Sage Walters needs a break to make her business a success, and to be fair, baby reveal parties aren't cutting it. When offered an opportunity to pull off a NYE party for Calgary Industries, it could potentially lead to her professional demise. But with help from her sidekick Evan (who almost stole the limelight), Sage will need to pull up her big girl panties, because failing isn't an option and strength will be needed to survive Mr Calgary.

"A moment ago, I thought you were tolerable. Now, I'm not so sure. So this moment, the rate is twenty-five percent. Take it or leave it, Mr. Calgary."

Grant Calgary, CEO, is in a bind and needs a quick solution to throwing a last minute NYE party for his staff. With such little notice, he's taking a risk by hiring a 'nobody' party planner in plastic shoes... But with a backbone that Sage displays, he may have underestimated the spitfire and her potential. And frankly their ability to disagree on everything has become extremely attractive.

"You don't have to like someone to have a good sweaty time with them."

"Not in my experience."

It was Evan's turn to snort. "Sagey, honey, that is because you date the most boring men known to mankind. I mean, your exes could make a room full of chess champion, encyclopedia-reading geeks seem like a lively bunch."

Honestly, watching the ice thaw between these two was seriously addictive. Sage and Grant were dynamite and their constant bickering took verbal foreplay to a whole new level. It made these two getting together a whole lot more delicious.

"I get it. You're a whore. I don't need the details."

One of his hands left the railing, closing around my lower belly, holding me to him. "And because I don't have experience with it, I can't make any promises."

"No one can give any promises," I told him, me a bit cynical about forevers.

"But I want to give it a try. The wining and dining and all that shit."

Okay, for a short story, it was great!! Good banter, hot smutty smut and a funny side character - it was nearly perfect!!
I know holiday reads are kinda over for now, but this one totally set me back into festive mood. Definitely gonna read it again in December.

I really enjoyed this little read.

Yes Grant was for lack of a better word an arsehole. But after that first meeting he kinda grew on me.

I liked Sage and Evan, the story and everything.

5 swooned stars!!!

Jessica Gadziala proves that a novella can have all the delicious goodness a full-length usually has to offer.

• Enemies to lovers? ✔
• A fantastic heroine? ✔
• Deliciously funny banter? ✔
• A swoon-worthy hero? ✔
• Great build-up? ✔
• A good dose of steamy goodness? ✔✔✔

I freaking loved it!
Jessica's writing style is like a cherry on top.
I only wish there was an epilogue because she is the queen of epilogues.
But that's ok.

I love Jessica's writing and I have a big girl crush on her! :)

This one is definitely a must-read.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

After reading so many Christmas novellas I felt like there ought to be NYE novellas as well so I asked for recommendations in a reading group and this was the only one that really fit the bill. I was a little nervous because I've read two Jessica Gadziala books and...🙈let's just say I didn't like them, but I'm glad I gave this a chance. For a short little novella I don't know what more you could want. This was entertaining with a grumpy CEO and a down on her luck party planner trying to turn her business around. That plus the magic of new year's makes for a cute story that I enjoyed. Happy New year everyone!

Sage Walters hoped at best to ring in the New Year with a hugely successful bash planned and executed for mogul Grant Calgary. Little did she know the abrasive and opinionated CEO would be micromanaging her every move. She also never expected to feel more than angry exploding between them just as the clock struck twelve…

Whoa! What a way to ring in the New Year! Jessica Gadziala has created a light, fun read that sparkles with romance like the best champagne while exploding like a roman candle as two people bicker their way into each other’s arms.

N.Y. E. is a quick read that proves that this New Year’s Eve is only the beginning of another fabulous reading year with books from Jessica Gadziala! I love how Ms. Gadziala blends both sweetness and strength in Sage while creating Grant as a chest-beating, over-testosteroned hunk. Sexy and sassy reading for a quick escape!

I received a complimentary copy from Jessica Gadziala!

“Cheers bitches!” (100% the saying I heard at least 75 times last time I was at a party...so, do as the Romans do or get outta Dodge, right?)

description

This novella was perfect for a little NYE pick me up. We get plenty of time for the heroine and hero to gain some back story and get-to-know-you time without the...we just met an an elevator and decided to reproduce offspring super fast insta love you can often find in a novella. Well paced and with all the JG goodness we come to expect from her writing.

description

Our leading lady in this story is Sage, someone we can all relate to. She struggling with her new business getting its first big gig to really hit the top tier market of party planning. Dreading just one more baby shower on the books. Don’t know about you, but I assume if you’ve ever been a part of the workforce...you’ve been there no matter your job. Maybe it’s dreading making one more Frappuccino with Carmel because that shit gets everywhere, rolling your eye at one more email from the coworker who shouldn’t have slept through training because you aren’t paid enough to both your jobs, or the lady with the bad mom-bob demanding to see the manager for the fourth time this week over expired coupons....we have all struggled even minutely at a job.

description

But, Sage gets a break. A big break. A HUGE break. It just comes with a snarky, overbearing, micromanaging, entitled asshole attached to the paycheck.

Oh, What delicious sexual tension!

description

Grant I can picture in my mind (and my nose because I’m sure he smells like sex and Armani) as the embodiment of the ZZ Top song saying, “every girl’s crazy ‘bout a sharp dressed man.” CEO of his company with an opinion on everything, this man knows what he wants. Lucky for us readers it’s Sage.

description

This novella promises to be and delivers exactly what you would expect from a holiday romance. Relatability, a great storyline and dialogue, characters who could be real people, and a supporting cast and setting which leaves you wanting more. JG delivers again, making you want to crack your own bottle of champagne at the end and toast her for her greatness.

It's the first week of December, and you're finishing up yet another gender reveal party. That's pretty much normal because you are a professional party planner, after all. So when you're called in to an appointment with the billionaire playboy CEO of a conglomerate because he wants to throw a huge New Year's Eve party for his employees, do you panic? Of course you do. Then pull up your socks and get ready to blow his clean off, right? In your dreams.

Grant is consistently lauded as the city's most eligible bachelor, but he's also an avowedly single bachelor, never photographed more than once with the same supermodel or socialite on his arm. Deliciously hot or not, it's clear how he stays on top of the business world - the only word to describe him is ruthless. OK, that's not exactly accurate, since his rude micromanaging has Sage calling him all kinds of other names in her head. And only occasionally leaking out under her breath. Which breath is often taken away due to his incredible good looks. Sigh.

Witty and thoroughly engaging, this New Year's Eve story can be enjoyed year round. It's a gorgeous, fun read!

This year Jessica Gadziala decided to give us a New Years Eve romance to read for the holidays..

Sage Walters owns her own party planning business. Small time with aspirations of making it big even though her father doesn't think its a real job. She jumps at the chance when the CEO of Calgary Industries asks her to plan a New Years Eve party for his 1000+ employees. She knows its going to be a big paycheck but also next to impossible to find a venue to hold it in being it just weeks away, but knows if she can pull it off it will help build her clientele. What she hadn't counted on was the CEO, Grant Calgary being such a scrooge and wanting to micro manage her every move.

Its full of all the things we come to expect in a book from Jessica – snark between the H and h, a strong secondary character and sexy times..

Short but ahhhhmazing

This is a book about a hard working party planner and an alpha male. A relationship is not the norm for him but she's not the type for fast and easy.

The tension and build up along with a witty best friend make for an entertaining short that will leave you wanting more!!!

Grant and Sage🍸

This was a nice little New Year's Eve/ Holiday treat! I truly enjoyed the back and forth banter between these two. I loved Sage she had courage and determination to take her business to the next level to work her way up. She definitely put in the work to make that happen. Grant by any means necessary worked his way up the ladder to C.E.O. of his company. He hires Sage's party planning company for New Year's Eve. Both Grant and Sage's personalities clash as they work together to iron out all the important parts of the party planning process. The chemistry just grows and evolves until neither can resist.I really enjoyed this novella. I highly recommend this author she is a one-click for me!!!

I am so glad I took a chance and decided to read this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this story! I loved Sage a lot. She was hard working, independent and confident unless a handsome a-hole was giving her a hard time. Th chemistry between Sage and Grant is hot and you just knew once they gave in to their desire for each other it was going to be explosive! I did want to get to know Grant a little better and wish we had a little epilogue but otherwise it was a really good read for me!
This book is completely safe, no op drama.

This one was a surprise because us readers didn't have a clue what was in store for us upon reading N.Y.E. a very pleasant surprise mind you.

The dedication!. To fresh starts. And those who need them the most. Love it so much!.

Short sweet and goes down a treat. I can't think of a better way for her to have finished 2018 off with.

N.Y.E starts off with the heroine Sage a small business owner/event planner landing her first big event. Smart witty and hard working she has endured the smaller jobs that have become a chore in the hopes of getting the recognition she so rightly deserves. You'd think that landing this job is a huge success however working for Grant Calgary may just be her undoing. Demanding, abrupt and rude he made it known that she is his last choice which set the course for their rocky relationship.

Sage is a great heroine through and through. She works her ass off with little to no rest time fully focused on making her dream a reality. She's sweet, funny and genuine but doesn't really see her own worth. I loved that despite the job seeming almost impossible and the employer unmannered and an all round pain in her ass! She threw herself into making this event amazing. Not just because she paid to but because that's just who she is.

Grant is the grumpy ragamuffin we love to hate. He gives a negative view on himself pretty quickly and it's not for a while into the book before we see his light. Despite having a lot he's also pretty lonely. A workaholic who in all fairness works his ass off, his life revolves around just that.. WORK. He quickly realised his mistake in judging Sage but instead of sweetening her up, he continued to rile her just to get a reaction. He's sneaky in his showing his emotions but I loved that's he's not an open book and we really had to dig for his sweet.

I mean I really fucking love a frenemies vibe. It just sets the pace for that fast build tension and sizzling chemistry. Sage and Grant bicker through most of the story but I find them charming and very much alike despite being from different worlds. The connection is pretty much instantaneous with all those swoon worthy heated looks and bickering. We only get Sages POV here but I didn't feel disconnected to Grant one bit. The flow is great setting the pace for the story to unfold just perfectly giving us exactly what we need but still having us wanting more in the best ways.

As always this author does a great job with giving us strong well rounded character. Sage and Grant are a pleasure to read but Evan was a shinning star also. His blunt, no fucks given honestly had me in stitches!. Everyone needs a Even I thinks.

"It's something, Miss Shivers McMyVagNeedsSomeLoveEnstein."

^^^^ I LAUGHED SO DANG HARD AT THAT.

Seriously though.. once again a great read. It's short and sweet without being full of cheese. Just enough bite that it's not boring, a lot of laughs and some real heart felt moments for us to relate to despite it being fiction. I mean the greedy bitch that I am devoured it quickly and wished for more but not because it was needed but just because I enjoyed it that much. Although another short story on them in the future maybe? I'd love that!.

Anywho can't wait for what's next!. A new year and lots of exciting possibilities!!!.

N.Y.E by Jessica Gadziala was a super fun, sweet and sassy novella for the New Year holiday. This is not your typical holiday novella neither forcing two people together over the holiday to watch sparks fly or returning to characters readers already know and love to watch them celebrate the holiday together. Instead this was a mini romance and it was delightful!

Sage is a professional party planner just making ends meet in NYC by planning gender reveal after gender reveal party. So when the CEO of one of the biggest NYC companies calls wanting her to plan a company New Year’s Eve party, she jumps even if it is only 3 weeks from New Year’s Eve.

Grant, our CEO hero, is a bit difficult, maybe even ruthless, and he seems intent on micromanaging this shindig. Every time he pushes Sage she pushes back letting down her cool professional demeanor. You can imagine that all that arguing and heated engagement seems to be building to a different kind of heat.

This is a slow burn in a small package. Witty, engaging and fun to read even the secondary characters are well thought out and enjoyable. This is a New Year’s Eve story that will be enjoyed any time.

A novella worth reading!

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and objective review

Sage Walters needs a catapult to get her party planning business out of gender reveal party hell and into the big leagues.
Grant Calgary needs a 2,000 guest New Year's Eve party planned for his company... in less then three months... in Manhattan... with no venue booked.
They could, in theory be perfect for each other. If Grant wasn't an asshole. And Sage wasn't horribly attracted to him anyway.

"Twenty-five percent," I told him, raising my chin a bit higher.
"A moment ago it was twenty."
"A moment ago, I thought you were tolerable. Now, I'm not so sure. So this moment, the rate is twenty-five percent. Take it or leave it, Mr. Calgary, but I think you and I both know that if your secretaries were calling my office, you don't have another choice. So unless you have an aunt who once threw a kickass Thanksgiving party and would be willing to do this for you, the rate is twenty-five percent. Take it or leave it."

A short, steamy and sweet story! I loved the charachers! Sage is an event planner who is struggling to make it. The secondary characters are hilarious and wonderful additiions to the story.

Sage Walters worked hard to grow her business but the mother of all parties could make or break her career. Add one pompous ass named Grant Calgary and now we’re in business. I love Sage but really love Grant. Somewhere in the back and fourth, the frustration of dealing with each other , the attraction builds and Mother Nature takes care of the rest. Done miss this amazing book!
