If you have been following the Billionaire Bad Boys series, you will love Julian's and Kendall's story, Going in Deep. You can also read this book as a stand alone. Either way this book is emotionally good! I wasn't to thrilled to hear about Julian's wrong doings in the past and how he had used Kendall before. But behind his diabolical plan, he had fell hopelessly head over heals for the girl. Present time he has gotten himself help. He tries to heal everyday. But there is one person that he just can not get over and that is "his girl". So what could he had done to her that no one seems to want to give him another chance? You will definitely find out once you dig into this book.

Kendall may be fighting demons everyday, but she is a strong and passionate woman. When Julian comes back into her life, she finally makes sure it is the real deal. She has learned from her mistakes. I applaud Kendall for the fight she has to endure everyday. Also I was happy that she did not just turn her back on the new and improved Julian so suddenly. Not only that, but there was a lot of drama that appears in the story and every time it presented itself to Kendall she handled it like a boss. I would have personally jumped to conclusions. This woman had every right to do so. When these two are together, they balance each other out. Kendall and Julian are meant to be with each other. But when Kendall is at a point to choose her family over Julian, what will she do?

Going in Deep is intense, emotional, and down right sexy! Oh you also need to meet their fur babies! Gah! This book has it all. My heart was torn up and warmed up. I am stuck on this series and will revisit these two soon.

It's LIVE & on Blog Tour!!

I gotta be honest. I've been interested in finding out more about Julian and Kendall ever since I met them briefly in Going Down Hard. Sorry to say I haven't had a chance to go back to the beginning of the series so I knew very little about them going in. But I knew Julian used to be an addict and that Kendall struggled with her own bipolar issues and what wasn't there to want to learn more about? No worries though because despite my ignorance, the author truly wrote this book as a standalone and I was never lost.

Julian and Kendall shared an exciting yet painful history. He used her in order to hurt the ones she was closest to in the name of vengeance. Now he's back to make amends, earn forgiveness, and hopefully win back Kendall's heart in the process. Their feelings never really died and so they fell pretty easily back into each others arms. But their road to forever may not be so easy because not everyone is quite as forgiving.

This turned out to be a surprisingly sweet second chance romance considering the issues both main characters struggled with. They were really sweet together and their dogs were an extra bonus. There was a bit of character development but the author didn't go in too deep *see what I did there?* The sex scenes were hot and there was no question as to the veracity of their feelings and the intimacy shared between the two. Side note and an extra bonus: during their time apart, neither character was with anyone else. Can you really ask for more???

This book had me in tears right at the beginning. A lot of that stems from my dog rescue work and I could totally relate to Kendall's work environment and falling in love with the dogs :) Julian and Kendall were such great characters and so easy to fall in love with. Julian is truly sorry for what he had put Kendall through in the past and will do anything for a second chance. When he realizes that he loves Kendall, he will even walk away if that's what she needs him to do.

Kendall never forgot about Julian, even though she tried. He used her and broke her heart, but yet she still wanted to trust him and give him that second chance. She truly believes he has changed and when he adopts her buddy from the shelter, she knows she has to give him a shot.

I haven't read the other books in this series. I still got a good feel for all of the other characters who were in the other books. The only thing that wasn't really clear to me was exactly how Julian used Kendall. Overall though, I loved this book because I could really relate to the characters and I really loved the story. Great read!

descriptionNot really a huge fan of this cover. I like the graphic work, and the couple is a good representation of the couple featured. The author's name across the top and over the couple's heads is distracting though and throws off the composition. I think the "GOING IN" would have looked better lined up with the "DEEP" (slightly overlapping it) then placing the author's name under that. That would have improved the overall look of it.description

descriptionI enjoyed this one a lot. Previous to this one I had only read GOING DOWN HARD so I didn't have a ton of background on these two characters. I knew Julian was an addict, and I knew he used Kendall and hurt her but that was basically all I knew about them, so maybe that is why I was able to enjoy this one so much.

description

Both main characters in this one were extremely likable. I loved Julian. I love that he owned his mistakes and never made excuses. He was a super sweet guy. Kendall had made mistakes of her own, and I loved seeing her moving on and making a better life for herself. I LOVED seeing her stand up for herself and Julian with Lexie and Kade. Like I said I haven't read their book (Lexie & Kade), but I didn't find them particularly likable in THIS book. I am sure they had good reasons for acting that way, but they just came across like judgy controlling assholes to me in this one.

The pace of this one was great, and it was well written. There wasn't a lot of angst. There was no OW/OM drama. In fact neither had been with others since they broke up. It had a couple of cute dogs. It had a nice collection of secondary characters as well and was topped off with a super sweet epilogue. Two thumbs up from yours truly.description

The main theme is second chance of love. Nothing new. Somehow in the hand of miss Phillips it becomes interesting. Dont get me wrong, there is no new aspect added into the story. I thought this book will be boring. At the end I end up enjoy ot very much. There is that sweetness into the story.

Julian determination to prove he is a changed man is honest and deep. He is a man of few word, but his action speaks louder. Kendall is more make believe character. There is no way someone with bipolar even taking medication, can have smooth life like her without any slip.
But hey, in romance its always about make believe plot.

Overall the story is light and easy. It has some beautiful sweetness and honest in it. I enjoy it very much.

We're back in NYC! And this time it's not the story of one of our three darling billionaires. Nope, this is the story of the guy we hated all through those three previous books!!! Julian!
The guy who blackmailed the guys. Who used Lexie's twin to get what he wanted!
And now ... now he's back. And he wants Kendall again!
Well, he wants her, but first he wants her to know that he's a changed man. He's been sober for a long while. He's going to AA, started his own security company, keeps his nose and everything else, clean!
He knows he made mistakes. Serious, bad mistakes, which almost destroyed Kendall.
But the sparks between those two are still flying like crazy.
But Kendall is doing so good now. She's got her bipolar disorder under control. She's happy in her job at the dog place. She's not really prepared for Julian to disrupt her live again.
But she can't forget him either. And then he goes and adopts one of her dogs and he's being all sweet and kind and adorable and nice and hot and grrrrr....

description
(there's no jogging on the beach in the book, but this is how I picture Julian with his dog! Adorable! ☺☺☺)

I really enjoyed this book!
Of course we first think that we'll hate Julian. We just have to. But we don't!
We see that he changed immediately. He knows what he did was horrible and he could blame it all on genetics, his family's problems, circumstances, but he doesn't. He knows he screwed up really badly.
But even through everything bad that happened back then, there still was something special between him and Kendall. And now is the time to find out if that something special can be turned into a Happily Ever After for our two darlings and their dogs!

Great finale to a great series!!!

GOING IN DEEP was a very sweet & sexy & adorable & moving 2nd chance lovestory!!! Run to your nearest amazon to find out how Kendall & Julian will find their HEA!

WOW!! This second chance romance certainly packs an emotional punch. Going in Deep is definitely an apt title.

I was very interested to see how Kendall and Julian's story would play out after the last book. I knew it would be a great story. I had no idea the story would be so emotional and raw, but boy am I grateful. It was a fantastic read.

There's a bit of something for everyone. This book is emotional, angsty, has family drama, steamy sex, and lots of puppy love. See what I mean? Something for everyone! LOL The main characters have faced very difficult circumstances, but both come out on top. It's a story of love, survival, and overcoming obstacles.

Kudos to Carly Phillips for writing another fantastic romance with depth. It's sure please her fans, old and new.

Audiobook Review: Narration performed by Sophie Eastlake. I've listened to a couple titles narrated by Sophie Eastlake. She does a great job bringing characters to life. I'd definitely recommend this title based off her performance.

Capt565ure-1024x249.jpg (1024×249):

I haven't read any of the other books in this series, so I went in kind of blind. Thankfully I could follow the storyline just fine, so this can be read as a stand-alone. Going in blind also meant I didn't have any feelings about the MC's before starting this book. So even though I know, from the reviews I have read about the other books, that Julian was an ass in the past....for me, he started with a clean slate :P

tumblr_m3ym8tKkqr1qaybgdo2_500.gif (500×160)

This is a second chance love story, which I am a huge fan of ;)

Julian has betrayed Kendall in the past and he broke her heart. Kendall wasn't in the best place of her life at that time either.....she has bi-polar and was a bit messed up herself.

tumblr_mgxelpk6SV1rijbg1o1_500.gif (500×259)

I was a bit dissapointed, that there was so little info about their pasts in this one. I would have liked to read more about their previous relationship and how Kendall felt struggeling with her bi-polar. This book really focussus on the present though.

Both of them are doing better now and Julian wants to right his mistakes, make amends and apologize to the woman he has wronged. Kendall isn't so accepting at first though...

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor I don't think so + gif

Slowly these two get to know each other all over again and grow closer. There are some issues, with Kendall's family not being happy with her relationship with Julian......

Even though this book deals is with some heavy subjects, such as mental illness and addiction, this book is mostly about becoming the person you were meant to be. Like I said before, there isn't much about the actual addiction and the struggle with bi-polar, because this book starts, when both of the MC's have overcome their struggles.

These two were great together, but they didn't heal one another. They both came to a point in their lives, where they decided to get their act together.....before they reunited. I really appreciated that. They didn't need to be together, to function...but they wanted to be.... Still, I wished their would have been more information about the time they spend together in the past.

Nice and deserves praise for touching on serious topics like addiction, bipolar disorder, even dog rescue and adoptions.

*with spoilers*
I like the authenticity of how the author touches on these topics. Like the H calling himself an addict rather an ex or recovering addict because it is a lifelong disease that needs lifelong commitment and management. The genetic aspect of each is also touched upon but then keeping the scales even, I'd have liked more empathy from the author for the afflicted parents as well.

It's a series and the h/H of this book were the bad peeps in the previous book (as in the bad boy and the bad girl) who created problems for earlier characters. The H was worse as he used the unstable h in his quest for revenge against her bro in law and his ex-bff. And now, he's back for redemption which the h provides without too much resistance. They are sweet in this book but were probably not so nice in previous books as their actions hurt a lot of people (including the h). The angst is more in the past and in the rehashing of it.

Before I begin my review I just want to say that Going In Deep can be read as a standalone, but the characters Julian and Kendall have all been introduced in the previous books of the series and we were given a bit of insight on them. Julian was the villain and Kendall was the woman that he hurt hence why Going In Deep is more of a second chance redemption love story between these two.

The beauty of this book is the intensity of the relationship of Julian and Kendall. The journey of where they were before and how they came full circle to this point. Julian was seen as the villain in the previous books but in this story, he is seen as that hero that your heart wanted to root for. You wanted him to get his happily ever after. And boy oh boy did Carly Phillips give you all the feels. I love that Julian didn’t sugarcoat his past. He owned it. He didn’t regret it but acknowledged that it was the defining moment of what led him to open his heart to Kendall. As for Kendall, I loved her. I admired her strength and backbone to stand up to Lexie and Kade and show them that she is strong enough to make her own decision and follow her own heart’s wants and desires.

Going In Deep was another fantastic book written by Carly Phillips. I loved everything about this book from the sexual and emotional connection of Julian and Kendall to the burning passion and love that these two have for each other. All I can say go read this heartwarming second chance redemption story and fall in love with these characters.

No no no no no! This was not supposed to happen!

I am supposed to hate Julian after what he did, right? I wasn't supposed to feel for him, hurt for him, fall for him,was I?

Because that is what happened. Ms Phillips has certainly turned my opinion about the guy right right around. Right from the get go, I could feel that he and Kendall still had something special, that both had changed, that they really were perfect for each other.

But boy the emotion - mostly not caused by these two (though there was some) but that was caused by Lexie and Kade. Oh my goodness, I never thought I would say it but at times I really really disliked them both. They made me want to jump into my kindle and yell at them! I could understand the why of what they were doing/saying, but I wanted to rip the blinders off them and make them see what was in front of them.

To be in the now with Julian and Kendall, looking forward not to the past.

I really, really did adore Julian. As we learn more about things in the past, my heart couldn't help but hurt for him, grow for him, hope for him. Be there with him as he fights for the woman he loves and the prejudices against him.

And to give the perfect ending to this series.

Thank you Ms Phillips for the Billionaire Bad Boys, now I am impatiently waiting for what comes next.

I just absolutely LOVE a story where the bad boy changes his ways for the girl he lost. The HIGHLY ANTICIPATED second-chance love story between Julian and Kendall was INCREDIBLE! Ever since I found out that Carly was giving these two characters their own story, I've been so freaking excited! And then when it showed up on my Kindle, I was OVER THE MOON and OH SO READY to get started. I knew it would be emotional. I knew it would be sexy. I knew it would be beautiful. It was all those things and more. I've become addicted to this series and these wonderful characters and it was bittersweet to dive into the final chapter of the Billionaire Bad Boys series.

"He'd missed her touch, her scent, the very essence of her being, and he never wanted to let her go."

If you are familiar with the series, then you will definitely remember Julian Dane. You know him as a villain. In GOING IN DEEP, he is reformed and ready to get the woman he can't get off of his mind, Kendall Parker, who you will also recall if you read the previous book. *Side Note* GOING IN DEEP is a standalone romance. The characters are interconnected but each book features a separate couple. Julian had no idea the type of demons Kendall Parker was battling when he took advantage of her and used her to get his way. But he is back and ready to make amends. Kendall had no idea the demons Julian Dane have been fighting, but how can she forgive the man who betrayed her. She loved him and he used her. How does one get past that? Julian starts to show Kendall a side of him that makes her weak in the knees. Slowly but surely, he is breaking down her walls, and bringing back the feelings that she has tried so very poorly to bury. When Julian has her heart once again, it's not herself she has to convince, it's her friends and family. They were there when Julian destroyed her heart, and they are not an easy to forgive group. With all of these forces driving them apart, how will they find a way to be together?

"I'm all in. No walking away, backing out, or doing something stupid to screw things up. I'm in too deep."

This was just an all-around GREAT ROMANCE! I fell HARD for these characters. The engaging storyline kept me captivated with every turn of the page. I was just a goner from the very beginning. Carly Phillips knows the way to my heart, and she carved an easy path with GOING IN DEEP!

DNF

Not rating since I didn't get pass the 4th chapter.

First off, it's not a standalone, you need to read previous books in the series to know what these two did. And since that's the only thing they rambled on, how many mistakes they made, how many people they hurt, how they are sorry yada yada yada... Well, you would at least like to know what the fuck happened. However, the author decided to keep the readers in the dark.

Honestly, I didn't care how the story goes. Also, I wasn't the fan of the heroine.
In the first chapter she kept saying she was done with him and in the second they make out and she's already making plans.

Ugh.
That's not for me.

FANTASTIC, once again!

Julian Day is an asshole with no redeeming qualities .... or so you should think. Yeah, but no. WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! Seriously, you can't like him. Like it's a code breaker of some sort. But you do and you will. And that was some fantastic word wizardry by Carly Phillips! That man did an about-face and never looked back and it was beautiful.

Kendall Parker has serious walls put up around her. She was hurt badly by Julian in the past. She has serious personality issues to contend with and really just doesn't want to open her heart again to the possibility of betrayal. But she's also grown. She's got herself under control. So she lets the wall crack and crack and crack some more until ..... SO GOOD, you guys!

This second chance story was a thing of beauty! Both Julian and Kendall had to fight for each other. Their past was not a one way street. They both made mistakes they had to over come. They both needed to grow. They both had internal journeys of their own. It was so heart-breaking AND heart-warming all wrapped up together. My heart walked with them thru this book every step of the way. *happy sigh*

Note: IMO, this book does not stand on its own. If you really want to feel and connect with the Julian and Kendall's past, then you REALLY need to read Going Down Easy, book 1 in this series. When you read about the hurt and betrayal that these two have been thru and have to over come today, your heart will connect better with those feelings if you experience their past. And you may also understand a little of the meddling friends LOL

Exceptional book. Exceptional series! Well done Carly Phillips!

*ARC from author in exchange for an honest review*

Julian Dane has screwed up his life from six ways to Sunday. He also took a few people along for the ride, ruining his friendship with his best friend Kade Barnes, and wrecking the life of his former girlfriend Kendal Parker.
Kendal Parker finally has her life and her bi-polar disorder under control. Until her ex, the man who used her, almost killed her relationship with her twin Lexie, and destroyed her now brother in law Kade, Julian walks back into her life.
Not really wanting him around because he hurt her so badly during their last go round, and knowing that her sister would think Kendal is off her meds, Kendal refuses to see Julian, but Julian is desperate to see Kendal. He needs to apologize for his behavior and explain that most of what he did to her, and to Kade, was when he was desperate for money, and under the influence of drugs. Julian is now clean and sober, and has been in AA for over a year. He needs Kendal to see that he's a changed man, and he wants a second chance.
When Kendal and Julian start fresh, both keep their newfound whatever a secret. Kendal knows that her family will never trust Julian, and she's afraid that if it comes down to it, she will have to choose between living the life she wants with the man she wants or her family.
I'm not sure if it's because having read Going Down Easy and knowing all that Julian did both to and with Kendal that colored my judgement, or just still not trusting him, but I have to admit that this was my least favorite in the series. I always felt that Julian was working some angle, and Kendal was still too trusting. This just didn't hold my attention, and that makes me sad, since I did want to read about Kendal and her happy ending.
Maybe my feelings are because I've had so much to deal with in my life, and I've never turned to drugs or alcohol, and I've had plenty of opportunity, that when I see or read about people who, in my opinion turn to drugs and or alcohol to escape from a not so idyllic home life, it's used as an excuse for not having the "perfect" life. I felt like Julian's reasons for turning to drugs was a poor excuse, and I just couldn't connect with him. This is no fault of the author. Ms. Phillips did an amazing job of writing her story. I just personally couldn't connect with it. I also understood why when Julian apologized to Kade, it was met with the reaction it was met with.
Overall, this was a very well written story about redemption and second chances.

Title: Going In Deep
Author: Carly Phillips

5 amazing stars

Of all the novels in Carly Phillips' Billionaire Bad Boy series, i have to say that Going In Deep is one of my favorites. Why? Because there is a history that isn't pretty. It was a heart wrenching one that made you really think of what's important in your life. It makes you realize that one part of your life doesn't define who you will become and who you actually are. After having met both Julian and Kendall in the previous book, Going Down Hard, i was honestly curious to find out what had happened considering that i hadn't read the previous novels in the series. It didn't seem to compute for me that a man would go so far to destroy people that he considered friends and confidents for so long and go to such lengths to want revenge on them.

4 breath taking dreams

WuXfsUeyzqA/WDJWyx_CZDI/AAAAAAAAAIw/8L_Qy6_v26Y1Ec3j6eTWsS_Gd8oxOhYwgCPcB/s1600/4%2Bdreams.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

I know schizophrenia... sadly it's in my family, so Carly Phillips way of bringing it to light and making it easier for others to understand what it makes you feel and act was spot on. Of course, it's not always the same thing for everyone, but she does a great job of describing what someone suffering from it would do in certain situations and what can ultimately happen when you don't seek help - of any format. The way she tackles the hard subject of addiction ~ wow... i don't think i can praise her enough for it. It's not the total sum of the story because there has to be something else, and there is. There's forgiveness, second chances and trying to fix burned bridges that have been destroyed in so many ways that even i'm surprised Julian went the extra mile to find a way to atone for what he did in the past. Of course, the chemistry is undeniable between Kendall and Julian and for certain i can't wait to find out if there's going to be more in this series. I can certainly hope so, and yet i'm also wondering whose story we would come to learn and join...

I really, really, really love this series. In all honesty I am not sure there is a book that she has published or will publish that I will not fall in love with. Now, I am not going to lie. I was a little nervous reading about Julian because honestly after meeting him in book one, I was so not a fan. But true to Ms. Phillips' form, she makes you fall in love with him and find yourself rooting for him to get his happy ever after. I was hooked from page one. So much so that I stayed in my pjs, sitting on the couch reading and definitely not doing laundry or dishes, or cooking dinner. Julian and Kendall both were introduced in book one with Kade and Kendall's twin sister, Lexie. To say Kade doesn't like or trust Julian is a gross understatement. Truth be told, if Julian was the same person he was in book one, I would wholeheartedly agree. But Julian has worked so hard to turn his life around and boy did he ever redeem himself. I went in to this book thinking one way, but ending the book I was definitely singing a different tune. No spoilers from me, but what I will say is if you love second chance stories then you will most definitely LOVE this book. I can't wait to see what Ms. Phillips comes out with next. I am a Carly Phillips fan for life! I want to own them all in paperback because yes they are all that good. This series is one I will definitely be reading over and over again.

The best book in the series!!

"He’d had to hit his own rock bottom before he could rebuild himself. Just as Kendall had."

Kendall and Julian are amazing characters. They are both damaged, broken and perfectly imperfect but they both deserve a second chance in life, in love. I was constantly on edge reading this book and felt so many emotions- I cried , was heartbroken and I felt hope. Life however is not that simple and both Kendall and Julian are aware of that.

I love their story, so endearing and went straight to my heart.

I've been hoping we would get a book on Julian and Kendall, and this didn't disappoint! Seeing how hard they had to work to get where they are today, and the strength each of them show, had me in tears throughout the book. Kendall taking a stand, and finally finding herself, was awesome to read about. Julian did a great job of redeeming himself, and quickly made his way to the top of my favorite Carly Phillips hero list. A well written book that will keep you drawn in from the beginning, and falling in love with these 2 by the end. Definitely a must read!!

Title: Going In Deep (Billionaire Bad Boys, #4)
Author: Carly Phillips
Genre: Contemporary Second Chance Romance
Rating: 4/5

This was my first time reading a Carly Phillips book and even though it's the fourth book in the Billionaire Bad Boys series it's been written in a way that it can be read as a standalone.

Going In Deep is a story of redemption and second chances that follows Julian and Kendall who are two people that share a painful past and end up being brought together again after years apart.

I feel that Carly did a brilliant job with the way in which she portrayed the characters, I loved how she didn't make it easy for Julian to redeem himself yet somehow she managed to turn him from villian to hero making me love him in the end and if that isn't a great trait to have as an author I don't know what is.

I highly recommend this book it's a sweet emotional tale of second chance love proving that once again that true love conquers all.

~ 5 Redeeming Stars ~

What an amazing story of second chances at love and life. This truly was a story about forgiveness and redemption.

Going In Deep is the final book in Carly Phillips Billionaire Bad Boy series and I thought it ended this amazing series perfectly.

I have to be honest when I say I was really looking forward to reading Julian and Kendall's story, even when they were the villains of the series. I was so hoping Carly would give them their HEA and possibly redeem these two. And she did more than just redeem them, she made me fall in love with both their characters!! I loved how honest this story felt when it came to these characters living with Addiction and Mental Health Issues. She gave us a look into what it is like for people who struggle on a daily basis with these conditions.

This story will suck you in and when you get to the end you won’t want it to end. The writing is seamless and the flow of the story was spot on. I loved the pace she took this story and these characters. Julian had earn Kendall’s trust back and I was glad Carly didn’t just brush over that and actually made him work at it.

I absolutely loved the theme of this story, in that everyone deserves a second chance and that these conditions are a struggle everyday for those who live with them, but with the right support around you, you can make it and live a happy and healthy life.

Going In Deep tells the story of Kendall (Lexi’s twin sister) and Julian (ex friend of Kade). We meet both of these characters in book 1 Going Down Easy. You don’t have to read that book first, but I would highly recommend it. It will make Going In Deep more understandable. You get to know what Kendall and Julian were like before this story. In this book though, we have Julian who has turned his life completely around and is trying to make amends. The first person he needs to do that with is Kendall. Kendall suffers from Bipolar Depression and has struggled with it in the past, but now she is on the right medication and is seeing a therapist and has learned to live a happier life. That is until Julian steps back into her life. Kendall has some serious trust issues when it comes to Julian, so she isn’t overly happy to see him again. Will Julian be able to win Kendall over again?? Can she learn to forgive and trust Julian again?? Will these two finally have their HEA they so deserve?? Read this book to find out.

Going In Deep is a standalone novel told from Dual POV in the third person. The author does a wonderful job filling in the blanks for those readers that haven’t read Book 1, but again I would recommend reading Going Down Easy first. In truth you will want to read this whole series….it is WONDERFUL!!!! I also enjoyed seeing some of the past characters from this series in this book, but I loved that this story truly focused on Kendall and Julian. I am truly sad to see this series come to an end. I just know I will have to read it again in the future.

It's not possible to review this book without spoiling the first one in the series, so apologies in advance. Yes, this can be read as a standalone second-chance romance, but really, it is a redemption story.

Julian was not all that nice when we met him. In fact, he is the villain in Kade and Lexie's story, and he uses (quite callously) Kendall, who happens to be Lexie's sister.

Usually, you don't see the misdeeds of the reformed bad boy, they are usually in the past, and they are told in retrospect and with regret. And, usually the reformed man sees the error of his ways. What I thought was interesting is that while Julian regrets the way he handled things, the choices (not mistakes, his words from the very beginning) he is not really able to regret the way things turned out, as he really feels that, in the end, he got what was owed to him. And, honestly, when you hear his story, his side of it, you agree. The way he went about it was not right, but the end result was probably correct. This is one of the places where you need to have read the 1st book to really be able to relate, both to the end and to the ways he handled it.

Kendall was not in the best place when she initially became involved with Julian, and neither was he. It's been more than a year, they have both changed and have made some decisions that are getting them back to being the people they want to be. And, when they meet again (deliberately on his part, again) they are not the same people they were in book 1.

Carly Phillips made me like Julian. And, while I was slightly sympathetic to him in the first book, as I did think he was due a small piece of the company the others built, I was not all that fond of the rest of who he was. I can't even describe the feeling of reading about a villain, about a man I didn't like, with reason, and all of a sudden liking him, seeing him as the new man he claims to be, and wanting him to find his happily ever after.

There is a lin3 in the epilogue about a repaired relationship that made me cry. I knew I was loving this book, but tears over Julian's happiness snuck up on me a bit. And, they are the reason this is a 5 star read for me. He went from a complete villain to someone who I was emotional over his happiness. If that isn't amazing writing and story telling, I don't know what is.

I recommend this book, and the entire series. I was sad to see it end, but I like where we left the characters.

Carly Phillips is an automatic book buy for me because she always writes some of the hottest love stories that I have enjoyed reading. When I heard she had a new one coming out, I knew I HAD to read it. I LOVE the Bad Boys Millionaire series and here we have book 4 in the series “Going in Deep”.
This is a 2nd chance love story about two people- Julian and Kendall . They met some time ago when they both had some issues in their lives (Julian was an addict and Kendall had her bipolar it seems not controlled). They fell in love , well Kendall fell MADLY IN LOVE but Julian broke her heart when he walked away from her.
Some time passes and Julian is a changed man. He is off drugs, in AA, started his own security company, keeps his nose and everything about him clean! He wants to make amends to Kendall. He didn’t mean to use her back then and now he is back and wants to show her what a changed man he is.
Kendall is in a different place now in her life. She has got her bipolar disorder under control. She's happy in her job, running her dog place and for Julian to come back into her life, she doesn’t know if she is ready for him to disrupt her life yet again. He almost destroyed her once, she doesn’t want him back in her life to do it yet again.
Oh the sparks are still there- hot and ready. Their feelings never really died and so they fell pretty easily back into each other’s arms. The sex scenes were intense and oh so steamy. They never got over one another and there is so much about them that this story shares. Will they give one another a 2nd chance or will they end up going their separate ways? You have to give this beautiful 2nd chance story a chance. It is so wonderful and it deals wonderfully with bipolar disorder well.

My Rating: 4.7 stars *****

Going in Deep is the 4th book in the Billionaire Bad Boys Series. It can easily be a stand alone. In fact I read this one first and loved the characters so much that I'm going back and reading the rest of the series. I also think that if you do read them in order it will give you better dynamics of the characters.

Julian Dane's life spiraled out of control after he became addicted to drugs. During that time period he used Kendall Parker to get to her brother-in-law, Kade, who is married to her twin, sister Lexie.

Unknown to Julian, Kendall is bipolar and was in a manic state during the time period they were together. The end of their relationship caused Kendall to go reeling. She ended up hospitalized and getting her medication straightened out.

Now Julian is working a 12 step program and one of the steps is to make amends. He tracks down Kendall and after several attempts she finally agrees to hear him out.

Both Julian and Kendall have come a long way regaining their lives back. They also realize that they have a connection that they want to explore to see if it can become something deeper.

Julian past comes back to haunt him. He has to be able to remain strong and not be pulled back in.

Having been previously married to an alcoholic and drug addict I could relate to the 12 steps Julian is working and also to those that he hurt while in claws of his addiction. Facing those that he hurt and making amends is tough and regaining that trust is even tougher. I feel Carly did a great job with the addiction, bipolar real life issues.

Also being a twin I could really feel how Lexie was struggling with letting go to let Kendall make her own life choices, especially after watching/living through Kendall's last maniac episode.

Carly has such a great way of writing that pulls the reader into the story.

I have been waiting for this story for a long time and I was a little disappointed in the end. I wish we had the chance to see Julian and his former best friends spending some time together and having a manly heart to heart healing some of the hurt between them. Julian and Kade's interactions left me with a bitter taste because all of the time was spend on fighting and acting like enemies. I wanted to see them being friends. The kind of epilogue we got wasn't completely satisfying. I hope another book will be added in the series because I don't want to let go yet.

At first, I thought that the book was slow because Kendall and Julian didn't get together until the 20% mark, but as I finished the book I realized that almost everything happened at the right time. Again my problem was the mending of Julian's relationship with the guys. Julian and Kendall got together on the right time. Julian needed to prove that he was the right guy and he had changed and became a better man. He needed to prove himself to Kendall and to the readers who weren't rooting for him. I didn't like that our hero was an a-hole, but he owned up to it and didn't try to make any excuses for it, which made him a better person in my book. I liked Kendall. She is not perfect either. She has made some mistakes in her past and is now trying to fix them. She and Julian suit very well. They are able to understand what each other needs and they don't make a fuss out of it.

I am hoping for a book about Alyssa or something about Alex. I want to know what happened to them. The book was very good and it was worth the waiting. If this is the last book in the series, I will be almost satisfied.

Carly Phillips has always been one of my go to authors for a great read. I LOVE the Bad Boys Millionaire series, have read them all, so when #4 in the series became available, I knew I had to have it to read! And of course, Ms. Phillips did not fail my every expectation!

We find out the Julian Dane, who was at his worst in his life, met our strong heroine, Kendall Parker. Falling madly in love with Julian, when he left, she was devastated. Heartbroken and lost, why would she give this what looked, jerk, a second chance??! No matter what sweet words he weaved, there was no way she could go back to that point in her life and let him hurt her again...or could she?

Going to Kendall's shelter and adopting Buddy was Julian's saving grace. It was then that Kendall realized maybe she could have it all and maybe he had changed. These two slowly begin to reconnect and watching them slowly fall back in love...well worth the tug and pull in this one!!

I love how Carly Phillips is a writer that isn't afraid to broach and talk about touchy subjects in her books. Mental illnesses are all over in the world, but no one really talks about it and the effects from it. Carly dives right in, making her characters even more loveable because they are so real!!
