The final chapter by the multiple Eisner Award-winning team of Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba. Everyone dies. It's how we live that matters. But when do you truly begin living your life? And when does it truly end? For Bras, the answers finally come at the twilight of it all.
Bras is 76 years old and suffering from cancer. His son finds an old envelope addressed to his father. It was heartwarming to see Ana and Bras in their old age, and Miguel - all grown up with kids and his own family. Loved this series.
"...Home is not a physical place at all, but a group of elements like the people you live with - a feeling, a state of mind." "We carry our family inside of us. It's who we are." "Only when you accept that one day you'll die can you let go...and make the best out of life."
Office read again, second of today. This was such a smooth and stable ending for such a deep graphic novel. I can’t help but wonder if I will ever have children and if I do, will I feel like I would surrender my life for her? Perhaps that is rooted from my suspicions regarding my semi or perhaps more than semi narcissism. Anyways, this was such a wonderful graphic novel, everything I could ask for. I am so glad that I randomly started reading graphic novels between calls at work. Time is all we have that matters and we can’t go scattering it on what doesn’t.
Sobering! Original and unexpected. A story about stories of alternative endings to a man’s life. One of the best artists I have seen. I could not put this book down!
Chapter Ten: 76 “Only when you accept that one day you’ll die can you let go and make the best out of life.”
A great ending to a great epic.
