A Mountain Christmas Romance was a sweet, beautiful story. I loved watching the romance grow between Opal and Matthias. These were such great characters! Opal had a lot to overcome from her past. She finally felt safe, cared for, and secure in her living and working situation. She was not sure if she could open her heart to a man, even one as caring as Matthias.

I really enjoyed this wonderful addition to the Wyoming Mountian Tales series. It was great to read Opal’s story and revisit a few characters from the previous books, as well. The story can stand alone for those who haven’t read the other books in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is about family and letting go of the past. Some characters did better with that than others did. I thought the past would have been dealt with differently. I wanted more from that part of the story. Faith was important, but it wasn't a big part of the story.

STORY-LINE A MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS ROMANCE BY MISTY M. BELLER:

Set in the Wyoming Territory of 1867, Matthias Bjork, descendant of Vikings, spends his life searching for his sister. In between journeys, he stays with a loving German couple; the Shumeister's consider him a son. While out racing across the landscape, Matthias and his horse, Karl, are felled by the sudden appearance of a woman.

Discovering Opal Boyd, works for the Shumeisters, comes as a surprise to Matthias. Opal's happier than she's ever been; secure and loved with the Shumeisters. Opal has no interest in men and doesn't trust them for good reason. However as she comes to know Matthias, her trust builds. The road to love for Matthias and Opal is rocky and rough, as Matthias searches for his sister and a threat arises which could be the end of Matthias and Opal. My romance book review of A Mountain Christmas Romance follow

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Misty M. Beller created a romance filled with emotion and a story-line which held my attention from start to finish. Including hints of mystery, feelings of mistrust, misunderstandings, romance, and a crisis which changes everything, Beller included all the elements needed for a successful romance.

With several plot threads, Misty M. Beller, brought all the threads together to form a solid book. With well-developed characters, intriguing plot lines, and writing which is easy to follow and read, Beller had no need sex or fluff to fill the pages. This is a clean sweet romance which will tug at your heart-strings. Including the abandoned dog, Charmer, adds to the depth of the story; he's loving and protective to his pack of humans.

Matthias is a man who thinks he's not worthy; that things fall apart and go wrong when he's around. Opal, from past experiences, does not trust men; and has no intention of ever marrying. However God, has a plan He sets in motion for Matthias and Opal. All they have to do is rely on God, listen to his voice, and grab life. We, as humans, find this hard to do at times; as will, Matthias and Opal.

Opal must face and overcome her insecurities and mistrust, before she can accept the love of any man. Matthias is a good man, loving to the Shumeisters, protective, patient, and kind with Opal; how could Opal not fall for this tall descendant from Vikings. I like the way Beller allowed the romance and trust to develop slowly between Matthias and Opal.

Every good romance must a villain or two; Beller created fine villains for A Mountain Christmas Romance. Holding the reasons for Lefton's hatred of Matthias close to her chest, she did not reveal the what, why, and when, until necessary. I loved watching in my mind's eye, as Opal faced her enemy and stood up for Matthias. As well as, when she defended herself when another villain thought her a weak woman.

I found A Mountain Christmas Romance well-written with well-developed characters and pacing in line with the length of the book. The reader also sees characters from the earlier book. I love stories which have continuing characters, as we get to catch up with their lives and hear all the latest gossip. Filled with action, a touch of mystery, and sweet clean romance, I would not hesitate to buy this book for myself or a friend.

A MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS ROMANCE RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4

My review today is on the novel, A Mountain Christmas Romance. This is book four in the Wyoming Mountain Tales Series. This book is well written, heart warming, and with just a twist of intrigue. I really enjoyed this book and I know you are going to love it.
Matthias Bjork is on his way back to Mountain Bluff to visit his family. They aren't his true family but they were all he has. He hunts for them, brings supplies, and repairs the property. He is riding hard and is about to jump the creek when a woman screamed, his horse falls in the creek. He rescues the girl; she reminds him of the sister he has been looking for but his reaction to her has nothing to do with brotherly love. He finds that she works for the German couple who has become his adopted parents. Can he keep his heart in tact?
Opal Boyd is out collecting herbs when she meets Matthias. He gives her a ride home. She is drawn to the mountain man even though she has a real fear of men. Matthias tells her stories of his viking heritage and how he is searching for his lost sister. She is thrilled with his Yule Tide Stories. She finds herself looking forward to his returning to the boarding house every few weeks.
A story of two lonely souls who are drawn together through circumstance beyond their own control. God has a plan for these two, a good plan and not for evil. God has a plan for you too; give Him your heart, trust Him, and watch Him turn your life around.

A Mountain Christmas Romance. Another great book by Misty Beller. This has been a fantastic series that has brought me so many hours of enjoyment. This is book 4 and gives us Opal's story. We met Opal in the last book, she is Tori's cousin and she went to live in Mountain Bluff with a sweet couple the Shumeister's. She helps Mrs. S with all the choirs and baking they do to sell to the locals. Opal is happier than she has ever been with her new life, safe and loved in this small mountain community. Along comes Matthias Bjork, tall handsome, mountain man. He is close friends with the Shumeister's so much so he is like their adopted son. Opal is afraid of all men and their intentions for good reason but it keeps her growing feeling for Matthias at a distance until she finally realizes this could be God's plan for her future. We get to revisit Tori and Ezra and their growing family as well as Mara and Josiah. This books gives us hope, love, strong family ties, hate, danger, healing and happiness. No spoilers here, but this book is packed with lots of emotions. I received an ARC to voluntarily read and give my honest opinion of this book. I loved it and highly recommend it as well as the other 3 in this series. You don't have to read them to read this one but trust me you will want to as they are all great.

Matthias Bjork is stunned to find a lovely maiden tucked along the creek bank that his horse just unsuccessfully tried to jump. He is even more surprised to learn that she is the new hire at the Shumeister's boardinghouse and bakery where he typically stays when visiting Mountain Bluff. Opal Boyd is a beauty for sure, but she appears to be timid and uncertain in his presence. It really shouldn't matter one way or the other what she thinks of him, since "the people around him always ended up getting hurt from one of his rash decisions, so he'd learned long ago to keep his distance".

Opal doesn't know what to make of the large Viking-like mountain man, Matthias Bjork. The Shumeisters seem to love him, but Matthias has clearly stated that he is on a quest to search the region for his estranged sister, which guarantees that he will be moving along again soon. "Her father was her only living relative and some days she wished she didn't have to claim him." So why does she miss Matthias' presence when he is gone? Isn't she perfectly content to remain alone?

When circumstances allow Opal and Matthias to thread a gentle friendship, it seems that this Wyoming winter might deliver plenty of pleasant surprises.

I am grateful to the author for a copy of this book. I was in no way obligated to write a review, the opinions stated are entirely my own.

Wyoming Mountain Tales, Book 4

Mountain Bluff, Wyoming Territory, 1867

Matthias Bjork searches for his sister in the rugged Wyoming Territory. Both his Viking heritage and family are vital to him, and he hasn’t seen her in twenty years.

Opal Boyd’s experiences with men have led her to steer clear of them. That’s why she’s so grateful to have found a job and a home with an older German couple in the Wyoming Territory. Meeting with Matthias, whom her boarding family considers an adopted son, doesn’t change her mind initially, yet the strong man soon captivates her thoughts.

Matthias is equally mesmerized by Opal, yet continues to follow all clues to his sister. Once he finds her, he vows never to live far apart from her again. That promise becomes difficult to keep.
This book was a page-turner for me. The author weaves lots of twists and turns into the story that kept me guessing to the end. Lovable characters touched my heart in this poignant story.

This isn’t the first novel I’ve read by this prolific author, nor will it be the last. Recommended for readers of historical romances.

WOW! A Mountain Christmas Romance was an wonderfully written book. I really enjoyed how Opal was totally against men but when she meets a Viking named Matthias her world changed.
Their worlds were so different but through hardship, danger, laughter and the love of a special German couple they learn to trust each other.
When I wasn’t reading I was thinking of this book and couldn’t wait to read it and find out what was going to happen next. A Mountain Christmas Romance has excitement, sweet moments, intrigued and lots of danger and of course Matthias having to save Opal was sigh worthy.
I also love learning about how the Vikings and Germans telling how Santa started.
I gave 5 Stars because Misty M. Beller wrote such a wonderful story.
I can’t wait to read the other books in this series!

I totally enjoyed this book. It is a tender, character-driven story about blossoming love. The main characters, Opal and Matthias, get off to a rocky start when they meet in the woods, but although they seem worlds apart, they slowly connect through their relationships with a loving German couple who took each in after they lost loved ones. The plot and ending are rewarding and the writing is top-notch. I highly recommend it during the holidays and any time of the year when our hearts need a little massage. There are a couple of typos, but I gave this book 5 stars because the writing and story are top-notch. I definitely plan to read more books by Misty Beller, that's for sure. I was given an ARC for an honest review and I attest that this review is fair and honest.

A Mountain Christmas Romance by Misty M. Beller would make a great Christmas gift for the reader, young or old, in your family! Matthias Bjork is a Viking mountain man who roams the Wyoming territory in search of his long lost sister. His home base is in a remote town where an older German couple, who run a boarding house, open their home to him when he traveling though. He happens by one day and discovers that the couple now employs a young lady by the name of Opal Boyd. A romance buds over time between Opal and Matthias with a lot of twists and turns along the way. This book is very well written and makes you feel like you are right there beside them!

Setting: Wyoming Territory 1867.

While Matthias Bjork looks for his sister he finds Opal Boyd, a woman working for a Germany couple in a remote Wyoming mountain town. He shares his family's tradition, a Viking Yule celebration. She begins to have feelings for him. He feels he's not worthy of her. She has trouble getting past her past. A perfect opportunity for a wonderful God.

I enjoy Beller's stories. They are clean, pure and I learned something. Young romance brings out the youth in me. Add tension and the flame burns brighter. Then add Christmas and it's perfect. It's a great way to start the season.

Well-written Mountain Tale

Matthias has become something of a nomad as he's been searching years for his sister. An excellent hunter, and kindhearted soul. His one anchor is a sweet old German couple who consider him a son.
Now, Opal has joined their boarding house as cook/maid and she has some emotional baggage as well.
Strong faith elements.
Building romance.
Dangerous men.
Pleasant enough, but no lingering wow factor for me.

Free download. All thoughts and opinions are mine alone without expectation or compensation.

The story is a warm and fuzzy one, though it takes too long to get to the actual romance! The author's descriptions of the characters and places are vivid and make me want to cozy up by the fire side with a cup of cocoa and a good book.

Will Opal and Matthias finally find they can trust one another and they are worthy of a life time of love?? Will Opal be willing to leave her security and love for couple she works for and move to another country to marry for love and hopeful wedded bliss?? Will Matthias' lone enemy end it all before they have the chance to decide the future?

I love this book

Another winner by Misty Belle. I can't say enough about why I love her books but one of my main reasons is that she develops in such a way that you can actually feel like you're right there. I also like the fact that she uses a lot of God's word in all of her books and that she allows the characters to go through hard times to show that just because we believe in God doesn't mean our life will always be perfect but by keeping faith in God and his word the best always happens

Good Christian read. Love the setting - the early Wyoming territory and the mountain man is a fun time in history to be taken back to. Matthias and Opal's love story is tender and sweet. But when the livery stable man comes after Matthias, things get really interesting as he puts the fire on Opal!! Hard choice to make - stay where you are comfortable working for two people who have become family or marry Matthias and strike out for the Canadian territory. Nice fluff book that puts a smile to your face.

Misty Beller's mountain romances are always great! This one began with Matthias Bjork attempting to jump his horse across a mountain creek. Everything would have been fine except for a scream from an unseen female which distracted the horse and rider! Opal and Matthias have both been deserted by most of their biological family and Matthias is on a search to find his sister who he has not seen since he was young. I thoroughly enjoyed this story of Matthias, Opal and the Shumeisters who own the boarding home where Opal works.

Matthias and Opal's story.
Matthias searching for his older sister, drives him on but he comes back to Mount Bluff to the German family that have nurtured him with acceptance and love. Opal to has found this boarding house couple and earns her keep baking. Opal and Tori a cousin left the east and came west running from her dad's servant who manages their estate as he grooms Tori.
The livery owner has a twisted five year memory which he takes out on Opal and Matthias.

Wonderful

In our times when Christmas, for most, has only a you meaning, even the sentimental tv shows or movies are bemoaning the loss of Christmas gifts for the children. I understand why that touches peoples hearts, mine included, but when two hearts are drawn together by time and remembering that God is love and concerned about all your life's situations and healing your hurts. Then you realize that the baby in the manger is truly the reason for giving gifts because the first Christmas gift was Jesus, God's son!
A very enjoyable book that will cheer you on in your life.

Research!

The story was ok but BOY did you miss the mark on some "facts". You obviously know nothing about firearms. One does not aim down the trigger! Unless he was firing a musket a guns blowback does not burn the face. Plus if indeed it were a musket he couldn't have fired back quickly. No such thing as am automatic flintlock! Also the letters,, tho full of story elements to fill in gaps are entirely bogus. If you've written another tale I hope you do better tho I won't be reading it to check. I gave it a 2 rating rather than 1 or O because you tried.

Wow! Loved it!

A Mountain Christian Romance was my first book from Misty Beller, but it definitely won’t be my last. Misty is a gifted story teller, reeling the reader in by her beautiful descriptive writing. It was as if I were a part of the story. She gently weaves in God’s love and the need to find worth in Him alone. At the same time, she tells a delightful and fun love story of two unpredictable characters, Alanna and Matthias. You will fall in love with Mrs. S as a bonus.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Matthias Bjork has Viking heritage, and is searching for his sister. He often spends time in Mountain Bluff where Opal Boyd is working in a boarding house and bakery with a German couple who treat her as family. She and Matthias grow close, and when he leaves to go to Canada where his sister is, she at first refuses to marry him, but later relents and follows him, but so does the blacksmith who for some reason hates him. A captivating story of overcoming struggle, love, and family.

A sweet little Christmas romance between a Viking and a woman that works for two people that mean a lot to him. His past has not always been clean and her life didn't start out very well. The question is will they both be able to overcome their pasts and look to a better future?

This novel is set in the mountains in the 1800s with likeable and realistic characters that charm and work their ways into your heart. There is adventure and some heartache that makes for a good read.

What a Great Story!

I must state that Misty Beller is one of my favorite authors, ever. The first books I bought to read on my first Kindle was one of Misty's early book series and since then I always check to see if any of her books are listed, and that is how I came upon this book. If you are looking for a really good author check out Misty Broker's books. This book had me on the edge of my seat many times. I hope you enjoy it also.

I liked lots of things about this book - the setting, the characterizations ... but clunky lines like "he kissed her like a hawk hovering over its prey" took me out of the narrative and into laughing fits.

I'm definitely willing to read more of Beller's work to see if it was just this piece that I wasn't the biggest fan of.

Mountain Bluff, Wyoming Territory, 1867, and cold. I felt I traveled with Matthias while he hunted, ate with the Schumeisters, and, fought his feeling for the beautiful Opal. Let’s not forget one of my favorite characters in this book, Charming. I’ve enjoyed the travels, trials and events throughout this story-line. I recommend this series for those who enjoy Christian reads and adventure.

Opal Boyd has found refuge as a baker and helper working for a German couple in a town in the mountains of Wyoming. She meets Matthias who is a mountain and a good friend of this couple. She's had bad experiences with men before and wants nothing to do with him even though she is curious about him . They start a friendship which may lead to something more. Very interesting story!

A Mountain Christmas Romance is the perfect end to the Wyoming Mountain Tales series. The romance of Opal and Matthias develops in such a perfect and innocent way. Historical details on ancient Viking culture keep things interesting. Although parts of the book are set around Christmastime, it is good reading for any time of the year.
