Serial loser Dan Pratt never asked to be the saviour of humanity. All he ever wanted was to get drunk and play video games with his best friend/uninvited lodger Frankie.
But then one day, after a series of unfortunate events causes him to suddenly hit rock bottom, Dan decides to strike back against a universe that has spurned him—starting with an act of revenge against his tyrannical boss.
Only, as it soon turns out, his boss isn’t actually his boss anymore.
Or human, for that matter…
When it later becomes apparent that the insurance company he works for is actually a front for a sect of evil, body-snatching jelly-slugs (and prompted by his trusty best friend and movie aficionado, Frankie), Dan reluctantly agrees to investigate.
